The submissions were a private affair IIRC. You'd only see what other people made if they also shared them on another social network, typically on Twitter or Reddit.
There's no thread which everyone posted their submissions.

Never thought to change the struggle key to a less taxing binding?

Didn't even know Jake and Zarina are asian, lol. Idc from where survs are anyway, as long as they are good teammates.
Jake is Korean American, and Zarina is from Lebanon, a country in the Middle East which is also technically in the continent of Asia.

Whelp we found the selfish teammate here. Who just leaves. He probably never saves anyone either. And yes it’s a team game. 1v4. Not 1v1v1v1v1
I run We'll Make It, Borrowed Time and We're Gonna Live Forever all part as my permanent build (fourth is Iron Will if you're curious). In what way does that make me a 'selfish teammate'?
No, it's not a team game. This isn't a battle royale, where your entire squad wins if one person makes it to the end. If you get knocked out at the start of the match, you've lost. Other survivors escaping does not change that fact.
There's explicitly perks that encourage solo play. Look at Left Behind, Sole Survivor, Technician and Self-Preservation.
Look at the game's official description:
That first sentence comes to mind.
Get off your high horse and stop making rude and frankly incorrect assumptions about people you do not know.
-
They are not obligated to stick around and risk their life. It's not a team game, they don't win if they die but you escape.
It's not their fault for you dying because they opened the door and left, it's on you for not being in a position to escape with them.
-
The Skill Checks are there to force the Survivors to pay attention, not to be a challenge. Making them smaller to higher ranked players is just yet another way of disincentivising reaching those ranks to begin with.
-
Nope. It was during the beta, so almost five years ago now.
Most likely played as Jake, though, and obviously against the Trapper (only Killer available) on the MacMillan Estate (only Realm available).
-
When you're playing against four Survivors a match, and playing lots of matches a day, it's statistically pretty likely that at least a few of those Survivors will be lucky enough to get a Key from a chest. It's not like there's that many items for the chest to give them instead.
So I seriously doubt it's been increased in anyway.
-
The game would have died before the Hag came out. People were clamouring for the ability to play with their friends since day one, and the game was rampant with people lobby dodging in hopes of finding their friends in queue.
SWF saved this game, and removing it would kill it.
-
It's not a bug, as far as I'm aware.
I don't know its exact purpose, but it's always been there. Maybe to keep you oriented towards the middle of your screen?
-
Well by pure content, it's objectively smaller purely because there's no new map or Realm rework. That's not really up for debate.
-
That's what people have said for the last... five(?) games of this style to come out.
Guess how many still are alive.

Since when has changing mouse sensitivity been considered an exploit?
It's not about upping your mouse sensitivity, it's about using exploits to get past their standard maxmium turning radius which has been implemented for balance reasons.
For a Survivor example, look at wiggling. There is a hard cap to how fast you can wiggle. No matter how hard you press the buttons, it won't exceed this cap. Now imagine if there wasn't a cap. People could set up a macro to have the wiggle keys pressed every 0.1 seconds, for example, and would wiggle out within seconds. Sounds fair?
There is supposed to be a maximum turning radius on these Killers. It's not about 'changing mouse sensitivity'.
-
Unless someone's got a repressed history of trauma involving Korean pop star serial killers breaking into their home at night and murdering them, then I can't really see what flags you say he is setting off.
-
I believe they judge it based on how simple it is to pick up and learn a Killer. After all, all you are doing is throwing knifes into people's backs.
Look at the Hillbilly, for example. He is also classified as Easy, but you could argue he's one of the more difficult Killers to play, as using his chainsaw effectively can take a lot of practice. Same with the Trapper. Also classified as easy, but map knowledge of when and where to utilise his traps is paramount.
-
It's miraculous how this game is funded by a single payment of $9.95 every three months by you. I don't know how they're going to continue development now that you're withdrawing their only source of income.
-
Such an assured statement for an issue that was debunked weeks ago.

To be fair, just because that's not the intent doesn't mean it's not part of the kit.
Yet people will keep trying over and over, and complaining about it in the process, to use it in that way, when they know for a fact that it is unreliable at best even when there's no lag or desync.
-
Stop trying to use it to avoid a swing.
Not only does it rarely work, but it's not the proper usage anyway.
Use the boost to make it to pallets and windows that you would otherwise not. The Killer has no opportunity to bait you out, and can't counter it in any way.
Dead Hard does not need a buff of any sort, outside of fixing desync (which is not a problem for Dead Hard specifically).
-
- Borrowed Time (this is the one I switch out when Archive challenges require a certain perk to be used)
- We'll Make It
- Iron Will
- We're Gonna Live Forever
Works very effectively. Never have to use an Exhaustion perk, so those kind of add-ons have no effect against me.
-
Do bones.

To divert the attention of the killer, try to make the killer to commit to a chase.
If you as a killer can't handle these situations it is your fault, but it is not toxic.
They are by definition toxic. They don't give you any sort of gameplay advantage, and aren't there to do anything but serve to annoy the killer.
-
There would be nothing stopping you from adding the other random Survivors still alive and telling them the Killer's build.
Sounds unlikely, but I think the devs wouldn't want to take that risk.
-
I just want Chris with his boulder punching biceps in the game.
-
Because it's trying to match you with four other players in your region, of similar rank, are searching for a match at the same time, who all also have crossplay off.
Not a lot of people turn crossplay off, so it's natural that it will take longer to find a compatible game under the parameters I listed.
-
That's how Battle Passes work in any game, free or otherwise. You're paying for access to the content of the Premium pass, but you still have to work for it
-
Resident Evil Resistance is probably the closest thing you can get.
-
Don't get found at all.
The moment you get found and hit the first time, it's basically over. A good Spirit player will never let you get the chance to heal up to healthy again. It's going to be a cycle of getting hooked, rescued then going down very shortly after and straight back to the hook.

@danielmaster87 said:
No, just put on Iron Will and she's countered. People don't realize how unfair it is to have zero sound in this game.
Iron Will does not remove your blood trails, scratch marks, footstep noises and breathing, all of which can still be used to track you.
On top of that, Stridor trumps Iron Will anyway, so even then it's not guaranteed to remove your groaning.
Iron Will is not a counter to the Spirit, especially so if she's running Stridor.
@danielmaster87 said:

No. She had to use a perk slot to counter your perk, and now you can still crouch tech her, slow vault windows, double back, etc.
You say this as if Stridor is useless if the Survivors aren't running Iron Will, which is not the case.

Red rank survivor. Try playing killer in red ranks like I do and you quickly learn all the counters to each killer and therefore improve your survivor gameplay ever further. its a shame after 2000 hours you haven't learnt how to counter play spirit though.
You're pretty presumptious implying someone with an Oni profile picture and nearly three thousand posts on this forum doesn't know how to play the game as Killer.
-
That is very odd.

I think the frustration is more from the fact that the devs make such little little tiny changes and instead of giving them as they are done and needed, they make us wait for months or weeks. Usually for something not worth the wait either. Ds nerf and other things have been ready for weeks, and we have had to wait this long for them, with little to no changes that warrant such a wait time. Any other dev team or game would do a small patch to introduce these small changes into the game, while chapters should be big and full of "new and exciting things" instead of a glorified bugfix patch with some new stuff.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to download daily 100mb updates containing small balance tweaks and bugfixes, when they could just do one large update containing everything every few weeks as they currently are doing.
That sounds really irritating, especially to people who aren't as lucky to have good download speeds.

I really thought i could not trust my eyes. The first time the DS nerf was announced was on 05.02 and they still haven't put it online. Speaking of lazy. Why do you have to put it in the big chapter patch, if you just have to tweak something so little that is done in less than a day? What is wrong with this devs? Do they know how to program?
...it's coming with Chapter 19. This has been known for weeks.
You know, the very next update.
Which is tomorrow.
Seems like the real lazy one is you for not bothering to make sure what you're saying is true.

I'm more excited for the Seoul Sights collection than the new Chapter, honestly.

Just a hypothesis. Survivor ethnicities are likely a function of where the player base lives.
K pop killer just screams "we're trying hard to break into Korean competitive sports."
I'm sure that Ace, Zarina and Élodie were solely created to tap into their (I'm sure) massive playerbases in Argentina, Lebanon and Madagascar, and not because the writers had interesting ideas for characters from those locales.
Nope, it's 100% about trying to get demographs to play the game.
-
I don't know. Definitely seems like a coincidence.
It's not like the concept of small black hole-esque portals materialising out of thin air is unique to either media, and I can't really see them doing a Chapter licensed from a three year old Netflix exclusive film that I can't imagine too many fans of DBD even know exists.
Especially since that movie isn't even in the horror genre, from what I can tell.

whats in it for the hooked survivor? i know hes buying his teammates time but what does he get out of it
Nothing, obviously. You'll die a slow and painful death as the Killer stares into your struggling eyes.
But the satisfaction of giving your team a full two minutes of uninterrupted generator time (which three competent players can easily bang out 3-4 generators) should be enough to motivate any non-selfish Survivor to stay struggling for as long as possible.

Here you go @Superyoshiegg
A far cry from "people only complained about the thong". Keep check of your perception of things and question why you would have a problem with people only complaining about the thong in the first place. Like sure those people exist but getting flustered over them existing clearly made you blind to all of the other complaints.
I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that people would unironically get upset that Claudette's shoes is a slightly darker shade of purple (which due to the lighting in the model picture, may not actually be true).
I'm not "blind to the other complaints", I'm saying it is ridiculous for people to get worked up over those miniscule details.
The design as a whole is intact. Yellow hooded jacket, black crop top, grey sweat pants and bandages wrapped along the arms.
I didn't see people get upset when they added blood and dirt all over Puddles the Clown when he was completely clean in the submission.
-
then they use the 99% on you that they got from the first minute thats been saved up for 5 minutes
That's five minutes of uninterrupted generator and rescuing time, because that means the Killer hasn't hit you at all whatsoever.
If getting 99'd late in the match is irritating you, play more aggressively. Get in his way when he's carrying someone else, and force him to hit you to reset the stalk meter.
Ghostface is already a low tier Killer, there's no need to nerf one of the only viable tactics he has available to him.

Wow, you got some great solutions here.
If you are homeless, buy a house.
What do you want me to say?
Do you expect the Killer to just walk away from the hook and let you get rescued for free?
I can see the Killer purposely ignoring your teammates hiding in the bushes nearby and walking away like this:

I mean you can say "no one" but I remember plenty of other complaints other than the thong.
I don't know what the point of this discussion is when they had enough of an uproar to decide to change it anyway? What are you trying to prove?
What makes you think I'm trying to 'prove' anything?
I'm saying it as I saw it. People complained that they removed the thong. T
he design was never going to translate 100% into the game because the art doesn't resemble Claudette. That's it.
I for one am interested in seeing the redesign the team has supposedly been working on, because short of giving her a huge tan and somehow widening her hips, there's nothing they can really do to make it look anymore like the art then it did previously.
Edit: Except for adding the thong, of course.

They changed more than just the logo and thong. IIRC they added a gaudy necklace and changed the glasses and/or shoes. And while I agree that it doesn't look like or really represent Claudette as we know her, that doesn't excuse the ridiculous number of creative liberties they took with the design, most of which were worse looking than the original.
No one is complaining that they gave her a necklace or that her sweat pants have a stripe on one side.
People are upset they removed the thong, and that she doesn't 'fill out' the outfit as much as she does in the original concept. Which, to me, are both ridiculous complaints.
The model they showed looked completely fine, given what they had to work with. The original art barely resembled Claudette at all, and was extremely basic (to the point of being boring) in design, especially when compared to the Legion outfit that won alongside it, and the Feng outfit from the year before.

I mean there was more to it than that. They were pretty unfaithful to the design as a whole. Guaranteed some things will be lost in the translation between 2D art to 3D semi-realistic modeling, but they took too many creative liberties, and even the creator of the original wasn't too happy about it.
The thing is, the original concept art really didn't look like Claudette at all. Her skin tone was far too pale, and her body shape way too curvy. It was never going to translate well to her actual player model.
The outfit itself was accurate, bar the thong and logo on the back, but it was never going to look right because the art simply didn't represent Claudette as she is depicted in-game.
-
Let me ask you this: is your favourite horror movie still scary after you've watched it dozens of times? To the point where you know every single jumpscare and line of dialogue by heart?
Of course not. You'd be desensitised to it to the point where it's no longer scary, and the same applies to video games.
I thought Resident Evil 7 was horrifying when I first played through it, but now I can beat it in sub three hours, barely paying attention.
-
@hentailord said:
If i could i would turn the music down so i can focus on the survivor sound. And turn off the huge notification when someone do a rescue or a gen because when you look in that direction you have a big spot in the middle of the screen where you see nothing
Both of those exist to intentionally make it harder to track Survivors.
The black cloud exists on the Survivors side also, when someone gets hooked. It lets the Killer move away without anyone far away seeing which direction they're going.
-
It doesn't need a counterbuff to balance it out. The nerf does not at all affect people who used it to mitigate tunnelling, so there's no worries there.

Thanks for the answer!
I'll check it and try to read it all later..
But the fact that a lot of ppl can't participate is... disappointing...
Dead by Daylight have a huge community around the world and making such contest like this is... complicated IMO
Oh well.
There's nothing stopping you from making your own art anyway and sharing it with the community in spirit of the competition.
Even if you could submit it, it's highly unlikely yours would be chosen to win, so it doesn't really matter anyway.
Make your designs as you see fit.
