No, because they're completely optional.
If a Killer or Survivor was priced 1,080 Auric Cells, then that would be a problem, because actual gameplay content is locked behind that paywall. Cosmetic skins do not have that issue.
I would much rather have 500 Auric Cell characters and 1,080 Auric Cell cosmetics than the inverse.
-
You've got it backwards.
The problem with Dead Hard is that it gives you free distance in a chase at the push of a button with no possibility for the Killer to counter it. Dodging attacks isn't the issue, because that requires timing and skill to pull off.

Killer should be more menacing. Remember the time back when you started and you had to hide from the killer?
Now survivors don´t feel scared. Because killer isn´t a threat. If you make a mistake as survivor you have tons of second chance perks that make up for it.
Survivors don't feel scared because it's a horror game, and anything in the horror genre stops having any sort of resemblance of a scare factor after a while.
You're not going to be scared by a horror move if you've watched it 15 times, just like how you're not going to be scared by a horror game when you've sunk several dozen or hundred hours into it like many players have. It's getting desensitised to a form of media, and is completely normal.
Not to mention the human factor in DBD. Making Killers more powerful isn't going to make them suddenly scarier, because at the end of the day, you know it's just a real human controlling digital pixels in a video game.
Also, the starting times where all Survivors did was hide was boring to all hell, for both sides. I think I would probably quit playing if that became the meta again. Complain about looping and juking all you want, but it's way more engaging and interactive then all Survivors hiding the entire trial.

Probably in the Rift, six or so months from now.

So... there is no actual source?
"We gays" Please stop, this grouping isn't funny.
Source on what, exactly? That the game has a large LGBT following? Because that doesn't need a "source", it's a straight fact. Look on replies to BHVR's Tweets, or streamers on Twitch and Youtube, or even the amount of discussion on these very forums about it.
-
Well if they don't vaccinate, they're easier to find when hiding, and are way more vulnerable to zombies and Nemesis' ranged attack.
-
...I'm pretty sure that was the schedule for what they would be discussing during the stream, no? I could be wrong.
I imagine we'd see a proper roadmap when the actual anniversary comes around and Year 5 properly starts in a bit over two weeks from now.

i feel like somebodies going to do that.
and if they do, they'll
A) Be cruising for a ban
B) Probably forget how to breathe for how braindead they would need to be to admit that. It's like admitting to burglary when you're actively talking to a police officer.
Not an issue.

Sure do.
The outfit on the right is the one I usually run. Looks very nice.

Jake, during the beta. He seemed the least played out of the four, so I picked him.

I don't think this should be possible, just like bodyblocking the entrance to the basement was fixed (and so were those hooks that spawned in a certain way that prevented survivors from unhooking if the killer standed in front of them)
@Phasmamain said:
Just like blocking the basement of the new farm maps this needs to be removed
Blocking the basement entrance was removed because it made it possible to keep Survivors trapped down there permanently, holding the game hostage, not because it stopped someone from being unhooked.
That's not the case here, as anyone up top isn't stuck up there with no other exit.

Jill grunts alot in the remake and has a lot of sounds that can be used for dbd.
Except the hook scream.
In which case, they would need to get the licensing for her VA Nicole Tompkins, which means extra money needs to be paid. It's a lot cheaper to just get an in-house employee to record the audio, which is what they've done for every single character except Ash (who was a special case).

It's a bit shocking how these things always get out of hand. Like, we have threads about potentially begging to take teams away from new, glitch-free content for the purposes of console optimization that go for 15-20 pages of people agreeing with one another, but basic, effortless inclusivity is mega controversial.
It always goes the same way.
Thread poster brings up a point about LGBT inclusivity, positive or negative, and it always (always) devolves into pointless and immature bickering by people on both sides of the topic. Thread goes into the double digits of pages, and eventually gets locked despite 2-3 warnings by the mods (as seen right above your own comment).
-
It's a lot more difficult to pull off an imitation of a character when your only lines are grunts and scream, no actual dialogue.
None of the licensed characters sound like themselves for this reason, with the obvious exception of Ash.

I watched the video with Meg where the killer smashes a wall then throws her into a car... is the killer like this in the game?
No throwing around Survivors like in that video unfortunately, but Nemesis does indeed throw Jill around a lot in their source game, Resident Evil 3.
-
No. You didn't work for that escape, you got lucky. You're already awarded for getting lucky, there's no need to punish the Killer more for it.
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:
Don't ban the charm ban the people tunneling because of the charm.
and how exactly do you plan on proving they tunnelled for that reason, unless they admit it in chat (which you would need to have a single digit IQ to do)?
-
The ranking system isn't solely about escaping because escaping isn't the only thing that dictates you as a good Survivor.
Anyone can repair five generators and leave on their own, because someone else is busy keeping the Killer occupied. That doesn't mean the gen jockey will have the skill needed to play at high ranks where a Killer won't be occupied for the entire match.
If escaping was the only thing that matters, then it would reward selfish play where people throw their team under the Autohaven bus so they personally could escape.
-
I like it. Looks stylistically similar to the logos the Evil Dead and Scream franchises have.
It fits. Much more pleasing to look at and creative than the original logo, which looked like it was basic Arial Narrow.
-
It's going to be the same price as the Stranger Things Chapter, because it has the same amount of content.
One Killer, three Killer perks. Two Survivors, six Survivor perks.
Licensing has never impacted the price of a Chapter outside of the inability to purchase the content with Iridescent Shards.
-
A surprise to absolutely everyone, I'm sure.
Your mistake was watching with the chat open.

I thought the point of Nemesis was being big and slow?
Not exactly. He's surprisingly agile for his size, and easily outruns Jill in both RE3 titles.
-
Since they are the only two license killers that come from Gaming culture
You really forgetting about everyone's favourite zombie slaying Vietnam veteran? During his own tome as well. 😔
Well, technically a killer. -
Well naturally, because there's more Survivor then there are Killers. It's always been this way.
The game released with four Survivors to three Killers, with all future content bringing one more on each side. Even when Leatherface and Ghostface released by themselves, it never evened the odds, only countering how Bill and Ash were also released by themselves.
-
*sigh*
The whole point of the original Legacy was to reward players who:
A) Stuck through the atrocious grind
&
B) Kept playing the game when it unbalanced to all hell
No one knew Legacy was going to be a thing. No one grinded for it. People were given it for being truly altrustic about sticking with DBD during its infancy when it was near unplayable and had a tiny community.
Making a new Legacy completely disregards the point. It'd be basically a new Prestige level, but only temporarily available. That's not what 'legacy' even means anyway.
-
Anniversary Code doesn't work. Singular.
There's three codes, and only one doesn't work. Probably a formatting error on their part, because they quickly came out with the 'anniversaryfragments' code which provides the same reward but is way easier to type.
-
Well yeah, of course it does. Exactly like how every other map in the game is endless void outside of the trial...
It's in the Entity's Realm. You're not actually in Raccoon City, you're in a small plane of existence.

They would've but this isn't a first
Two Killers and two Survivors?
You want a $20 DLC pack? Because that's how you would get it.
Not to mention BHVR apparently has a hard enough time making one Killer function properly without issue quarterly. Imagine double that.
-
I mean, Jake and Claudette get beaten in the intro trailer.
-
Jill is iconic. Claire is less so.
Having Nemesis without Jill wouldn't make sense.
-
Nemesis is the most likely candidate for Killer.
Survivor will be Leon, and if we're getting a second one, it'll either be Claire for promotion of the upcoming Netflix series, or Jill for being the most popular female character in the franchise.
Chris just isn't known well enough outside of the franchise, which I find rather funny as he's the only one making appearances in the newer titles.

AY! Jokes on you! Chris punching that boulder is now CANNON based upon RE8 XD
it was always canon because you had to do it to beat the game. It wasn't an optional event you could do during a boss fight to help win, you had to do it.
-
Before Village, I wanted Leon and Claire as the Survivors.
After Village, I want Ethan.
Imagine the cosmetic potential:
- white dress shirt
- beige coat
- (limbs optional)
Endless possibilities.

According to the RE Wiki "Though his role essentially similar within Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, there's a noticeable change on this character: First of all, he depicted standing roughly 9 feet tall.". Where did you get that information? Also, you know you can minimize a picture right?
That video is straight up wrong, my friend.
For one, Jill is confirmed to be 5 feet 4 inches (166cm), while that video puts her at almost 6ft.
Chris's height varies, but it has never been more than 6 feet 1 inch (185cm), while that chart has him at like 6'6.
Wesker's said to be 6 feet 4 (195cm), but the chart has him almost at seven feet.
I don't think I need to go on.
-
They're no where near the same height.
Nemesis is 7 feet 3 inches, which is 222 centimetres.
Mr. X is 7 feet dead, which is 213 centimetres.
Lady Dimitrescu is 9 feet 6 inches which is 292 centimetres.
To put that in perspective:

Julie and Frank, Nurse and her husband, David and his girlfriend.
Those are the one's off the top of my head, I think Felix also has mention of a girlfriend, but I'm not sure.
Felix had a six month pregnant girlfriend at the time of his disappearance, yes.
Means he's also the first Survivor to canonically be a parent as well, joining Oni on that front.

No offense but let's be real here man. Have you played this games ? You're comparing RE3 to the worst games of the franchise.
Now let's do it right :
RE3 3.5
RE3 remake 3.6
Ok similar right ? Between 1999 and 2020 ? Ok now let's COMPARE it with something comparable.
RE2 5M
RE2 remake 7.8 (> twice)
RE4 10M
RE5 11M
RE6 9M
RE7 7M
Now imagine how much RE8 is going to make.
Now, which product do you want to sell as a company ?
Acting like I'm the one making poor comparisons because the 'games are worse anyway' is pretty disingenuous.
You said that RE3 had the worst sale figures in series history. That's straight up false, no matter how you put it. The quality of the other games below it is irrelevant.
Edit: Also, Nemesis and Jill are arguably the two most iconic characters of the series. I'd wager only Leon comes close.
Not to mention Nemesis has already featured in several gaming crossovers in the past. Why would they do that if they didn't figure his game wouldn't be 'recognisable enough' or whatever?

For old school stubborn people.
Re8 will be the greatest success of the franchise. Having one of the character in DbD is pure marketting genius.
Re3 has the worst sale in Re history. Re3 remake was ... Something else.
I doubt it will be Nemmy.
Re3 has the worst sale in Re history. Re3 remake was ... Something else.
RE3 (1999) has sold 3.57 million copies as of 2021. RE3 Remake (2020) has sold 3.6 million.
Let's look at other some figures.
- Code Veronica (2000), across all its versions, has sold 2.9 million total.
- RE0 (2002) only sold 1.25 million. It wasn't until its remaster in 2016 that it sold a further 2.8 million.
- REmake (2002) sold 1.35 million, and again had to wait over a decade until its remaster in 2014 (PS3) and 2015 (PC) before it would beat RE3 at 5.33 million.
- The Outbreak pair of games (2003 and 2004) only sold 1.66 million.
- The Chronicles games (2007 and 2009) sold 1.45 million.
- Revelations, even with its remasters to console and PC, has only sold 2.9 million to this day.
- Revelations 2 has sold 2.7 million
Saying RE3 (either one) has the worst sales in RE history is blatantly untrue. I didn't even count the DS Survivor games or the Mercenaries and Operation Raccoon City spin off titles.

Why should he drop a umbrella logo?
It doesn't matter.
The man on the hook is Felix. He's wearing Felix's clothing, and his screams are identical to Felix's. There's no two ways about it.
More likely, it was done that way just so fans of DBD would recognise it instantly. Remember that the announcement trailer was in the Resident Evil showcase, not a Dead by Daylight one.
People are looking too much into this. They're not going to be giving any hints over two months before the Chapter releases. The Chapter showcase is on May 25th (three weeks from now), so we can sit tight until then.
-
...what cutscenes?
Do you mean the Archive cinematics? Those are in a picture book style for aesthetic purposes. They fit with the various banner artworks.

Only on generators that aren't being repaired (which is pretty much none). The ruin playstyle is exclusive to those killers who can either end chases very quickly or defend territory very well, since survivors aren't going to just sit around. I was thinking of something to actually forestall generators popping.
I was thinking of something to actually forestall generators popping.
Any specific details? I imagine that would feel very annoying and unfair to go against as Survivor. Imagine if you were about to hook a Survivor, but the hook breaks itself right before you can put them on because of a perk the Survivor you're carrying has equipped. Same deal.
-
Ruin does exactly what you describe, no? Passive generator regression at all times when a Survivor is no actively repairing it, with the only Killer involvement being preventing the totem from being broken.
Don't really need more than that.

3rd of June, last I heard.
