OP may not realize they are applying the survivor rulebook to killers so they can "earn" a "good" label.
I agree there's some lame-o ways for killers to play with hard camping at five gens, but if you've seen the accusations I've gotten over the years on situations that are most definitely not camping of any sort, yet are called such. You'll come to the same suspicious mindset I have reading your post.
Why don't you hop into killer and show the deplorables how to play killer competitively and good.
-
Nothing is more egregious and toxic than a killer winning a trial. Lock em up and bury the key, I say. Once you realize the relationship between toxicity complaints and whether a player won or loss, it really loses its meaning.
-
I get why they did it. They want to avoid another legacy situation. If you're not familiar, trust me there were many kinds of problems they ran into as a result of that decision.
I, as a potentially beneficiary of a new legacy situation, would prefer they Legacy 2.0'd with this update. But they won't and I get it.
Also asking for shards and auric cells is asking them to throw money away. That's a pipe dream unfortunately.
-
Games that are "already lost" are the best time to practice. You've already given up on the trial. Try some new things in chase. My beef with attitudes like OP is you're definitely not going to get better at killer by "surrendering" at every adversity.
Except hackers. You have my permission to corner your killer if you're facing a blatant cheater. I'd recommend you take a vod, then spend your corner time uploading the vod online and submitting a ticket. At least that's what I do.

I'd rather bring Shadow Step.
Dance with Me or Elodie's locker perk would be nastier.

From my knowledge I thought its 8 seconds
Just a quick google ^
-
I would use the old leightweight. I think scratch marks only last ten seconds. This is a ridiculous buff.
-
The problem with nerfing the stun is two of those seconds after the DS is spent just falling off the killers shoulder. This means the survivors (after the next nerf) will have one second to get distance. In other words, they'll be four meters away from the killer instead of twelve.

Devs could never satisfy most of you.
They could remove Bubba completely and you would run to forums to start a thread saying "yeah but what about Trickster!"
That’s because the playerbase that takes advantage of mechanics like this go from killer to killer to display the flaws in this game. Forever Freddys turned to Stridor Spirits to Camping Cannibals. One by one. Water finds a way.
They should be addressed.
-
They buffed Botany Knowledge. Combined will be about the same speed as before.
-
I suppose it is. But it won’t be stridor/ruin/undying/tinkerer spirit.
-
Yes, OP is right. They should address Cannibal in this update.

99% of the time zombies do nothing but jam out to EDM in a corner. The only times zombies assist is if the killer pushes people to them or forces them to loop near a zombie.
I've never seen zombies actually do anything on their own.
I don’t disagree. The AI is funky at best. I can usually only expect one random hit a match. Sometimes a clever killer can utilize them in a loop but it is rare.
I would be thrilled if I got three random zombie attacks in a match. But I wouldn’t equate that to a call for nerfs. I’d probably just agree with the survivors that I had a lucky trial.

But if the new one is functionally identical to the old one, just with a new name and a new flair, it doesn't accomplish anything. It's just a waste of dev resources. Old DS made the killer waste extra chase time if they tunnelled someone off hook. New OTR makes the killer waste extra chase time if they tunnelled someone off hook. They both last 60 seconds (OTR going up to 80), activate off being unhooked. There's some subtle changes, but really, OTR serves the exact same function as DS, with some minor changes.
But most egregious of all is that OTR reintroduces the problem that DS is getting nerfed for.
It's just baffling to me.
I don’t disagree about how the perks have a similar purpose, but I think you are undervaluing the basekit changes to killer attack and survivor sprint burst. It may very well stack with STBFL as well and reaaaaally shorten chases.
-
I don’t think them saying you got lucky with zombie attacks is same as OP. Being carried in one match isn’t the same as nerf zombies.
-
Yes. I catch most chests and totem players by sound ques.
-
Probably stacks then. I also wonder about the killer side with Brutal Strength and STBFL.

I'm not worried about Off the Record being OP, but it's just dumb to double nerf an already bad perk, only to then mega-buff another perk to exactly take its place.
I disagree on a couple fronts. What you described is exactly what they’re trying to do: Knock players off the most used perks and entice to new ones.
Plus, I think the chase is the most fun aspect of the game. Making a tunneled player being chased a longer duration is a punishment and also keeps the fun going. Much better, much preferred to the current five second bop on the nose that DS represents.
-
I quite like the change to SC and the vault speed increase is arguably been a problem. I noticed the other vault perk is unchanged.
-
Yes a killer can use both but their regressions would not stack together because the way the perks work. COB works after a killer kicks a gen, so begins 200% regression until a survivor taps the gen. Once tapped, the regress of COB ends.
Overcharge gives a skillcheck upon tapping the gen. Then it’s regression begins if left untapped.
No stacking but still could be clever perk usage.
-
Reminder that they buffed killer base mechanics too. They get a small STBFL base and survivors sprint for less time. Yes this is an extra health state but killer recovers faster and survivors do not get as much distance.
-
I’ve already prestiged everybody. Hope the reward is something good. Bloodpoints aren’t all that useful for a player in my position.
-
I have won so very very many killer games from the over ambitions of flashlight users. I have also lost so very very many survivor games as well.
The stereotypical flashlight user is more interested in a chance (just a chance) of preventing killer progress on their objective then to actually progress the survivor objective.
I don’t care about the clicky stuff personally.
-
They do not need it. Slower movement speed also encourages using the power. 4.6 killers might not even have a chase power, unlike Spirit, Deathslinger, etc. who have insane chase potential.
-
The hanging arms from the torso are what get me. Very cool design.

Im sorry friendo. That is partially on you too. If you're not getting a down before 3 gens. What killer/builds are you using ?
Totally agree. Most likely making many mistakes and ignoring that.

Personally, Apex Muffler with Leafy Mash is an insanely good combo, maybe throw in Tinkerer, Dark Devotion, and H: Plaything and you got a really solid build. It's been pretty fun and successful since people dont expect it at all.
Either iridescent with turn speed is an absolute blast to play. Apex with tinkerer alone can allow you to walk right up to a gen with a 99'd chainsaw. The turn speed just helps you get there.
-
Great basekit. Terrible addons. Engravings is not the best addons. Fight me.

That’s kinda awesome

Watch vel. You'll understand. I'm just not capable of vels level of play, and that's fine.
I'm not bad at billy. But I can't play him in ways actual good Billy's can
I enjoy YouTube content creators above Twitch. Does this guy mostly plays double engravings? I am not a fan of those addons or content creators who only play them. If you are practicing Hillbilly using engravings and getting annihilated, that's pretty standard in my estimation.
Each engraving extends his already lengthy charge time (2.5 seconds) by 0.35 seconds each. A three plus second charge time is extremely punishing with pay off only against poorish survivors. My issue with engravings is the additional charge time eliminates a lot of opportunities for saws at certain tiles. It's oddly susceptible to holding w. Have you watched him enough to see him get wrecked? It's basically destroyed by tile hopping and not running the tile tightly.
The absolute leader in Hillbilly chainsaws is Battle Guy. Number One on the leaderboard by a wiiiiiide margin. He mostly plays double engravings as well. I have played against him quite a few times and the above works against him just like every other engraving Billy. (Not to do with the discussion but BG's main downfall as a streamer is a monotone voice. He's very robotic in his commentary. He doesn't get a lot of views I think for that reason.)

He is under rated. All you need to do is watch GTVel play him to see what a Billy is capable of. The problem is. That level of play just may not be possible for most people. Including myself. He should be easier to use. I just don't know how.
Watch Hillbilly guides by content creators who played him at a high level. I don't know GTVel; there is a highly skilled Hillbilly Fog Whisperer named OhToFu who released the holy grail on Hillbilly years ago. Watch his guide.
From my point of view there are a couple of skill gaps: 1.) learning the muscle memory (feel) of the curve, 2.) learning the timing of his chainsaw sprint in relation to the distance the survivor has on you within a loop, and 3.) learning what environmental objects cause collision.
You'll be chainsawing at TL's in no time once you get the above down.

Now compare his power with other killers. You can see why he is least played free killer. Bubba's basekit is strong and his addons good, Blight's basekit strong and his addons good, Oni's basekit strong and his addons good but why Billy must be weaker at this point?
I am comparing his power to other killers. His base kit is strong compared to the rest of the killer cast; his addons are weak compared to the rest of the killer cast. In my opinion Hillbilly is underrated. Every time I read how difficult and terrible a killer he is, it makes me feel like an absolute mad lad the way teams fall before the saw.

Do you find yourself playing very many games where you get 30,000 ish points with BBQ and all five players are burning flans? Because my experience has been around 2 survivors are burning one per game, and most of them are eager to get out asap, happy to settle for their 8k of "ignore the killer for the whole match"
Yes. And my estimate is an average of 28k per match if that's something anyone's curious about. I see about three flans per match including mine own. Some people are salty, consistent losers who don't want to feel like they are helping anyone else out during the event.
Also, everyone survivor worth playing tries to get out asap. The only way to stop that is to be good in chase. If you're struggling to catch survivors, it's probably something wrong with your own mechanics. You'd be surprised how many mistakes people make unknowingly; they usually say it's an issue with the game or other players. I suggest if we are feeling that way, to consider a little introspection.
If anyone wants credentials, click on my profile and check out the pics.
-
Well, I disagree. 150k to 200k per match is quite worth it to me. Makes prestiging an absolute cake walk. Heh heh.
-
His base kit is really strong. His addons are a big meh. I claim Hillbilly as a main. I don't find him as hard as others say.
It's really a simple ability. Chainsaw moves you quick and instadowns. The end.
-
I'm having fun.
-
I don't see SWF as an issue. It's like, they're only a SWF when you lose.
-
I prefer to kill all the survivors myself. Probably the mistake you're doing OP is expecting good recognition from enemies.
-
Yeah this happened for me a few times this year. Mained Yun Jin for like half a year to play Fire Moon Mourner. Mained Elodie because I really liked Seoul Queen and Reindeer Onesie.
Recently I’ve been playing Mikhaila cause Rejuvanation Spell, Lazy Pyjamas and Sunlight Seance. Mikhailas been really rich with cosmetics lately. Witching Hour was a great start to her collection. (Wasn’t really a fan of her base or her first purple outfit.)

If you're scoring less as the killer it's means you're a pretty bad killer. You'll have the odd match where it happens, but it should never be consistent.
My first thought as well. Don’t know how to play.
-
It’s incredible against in survivors in dead zones, caught. But he’s still loopable and only 110. Once survivors get some awareness it can be mediated.
I do agree he doesn’t need it. I’d even say he has other addons that are more oppressive because it enhances his power.
-
I lean to normalizing it.
-
Well, you're not alone. Check out the Steam Charts. 93,000 active players so far today.

Who am I? A question that answers itself.

Can’t wait to get home from work and start playing the mini-Tome.

After the ban wave, I've seen no cheaters for a while. Gone were the incompetent survivors who somehow were impossible to catch.
But they've started to appear more and more. It may be time for another ban wave.
I saw one yesterday, first in months. They DC mid match. I suspect the anticheat caught them.

You need to have a certain number of hooks for x amount of glyphs to spawn.
I use Wraith for the other glyph challenges, which tanks my mmr if I just meme after - it's why I gave that reply to @TheShapesMixtape
When I say “take control of the match” I mean “kill one or two survivors.”
-
But I always tunnel? I mean, not really, but I always get accused of tunneling when I win.
-
Two weeks I believe. It is traditional for something to break during the event and it to get extended a week. But really this’ll (all the challenges will) get completed in a few days.
-
Yall complaining about the silliest things. I just do it with Wraith. Take control of the match, then circle at 150% looking for green glyphs. Cake walk and lots of bonus BPs.
