I just figured I'd put this out there for those people that don't believe killers face death squads every game
This is what your average high mmr game looks like
keep in mind that the first chase was nothing special it lasted maybe 30-40 secs but was enough to secure the win condition pretty much
Guys could've had a 3 man escape easily
I watch a lot of streams, and while - yes - there are some perks and addons you'll see every game, it's not exactly 'death squads'. I mean, Otz, Tofu and co. still win more than they lose.
I totally understand that the meta tends to ossify at high MMRs, but...that's true of basically every even vaguely competitive game.
What needs to happen is a gigantic honking balance pass to bring a lot of underperforming killers up to Plague level at least.

This is exactly why I hate sbmm
I think in one if the dev streams awhile back when they revealed it was just kills and escape based
Someone brought up but what if I unhook 500 teammates and do 900 gens and heal 300 health states and I die does that mean I'm less skilled then the claudette hiding in a bush
And the dev had the audacity to say something along the lines of, and don't take this as a direct quote but I believe I got it mostly right
"Yea but wouldn't it be great if you did all that and survived"
Smdh ridiculous dude
I'll totally agree that survivor SBMM needs to be a lot more nuanced.

No but I have faced other bubbas that don't camp or tunnel and they do just fine.
Face camping from hook 1 has no excuse for any killer
Sigh.
Yes, Bubba can do 'fine' without camping, but his kit feels like it was essentially built around it.
'Tunneling' isn't a thing. Removing one survivor from the game as soon as possible is how killers are meant to play.
If you manage to get more than 1k when there are 4 survivors alive at 1-2 gens remaining without running NOED, either they made a huge mistake or you were badly matched.

Can you please let us choose our daily rituals? let us pick survivor or killer? I play 99% survivor since I always play with friends so those killer rituals are always there (I have recycled them like 6 times already and I only get killer rituals) Yes, I purchased some of them just to get the survivors and their perks......
I barely even bother with them unless they have the words 'Hag', 'Doctor', 'Plague', 'Demogorgon' or 'Nurse' in the description.

How is the game even fun for these guys? Just standing there like idiots from hook one.
They don't even make good BPs, and finish the match with 1 or 2 hooks. What's the point?
Have you ever tried Bubba without some tactical slugging?

Well couldn't the solution be to just scrap the dead hard validation and make it so that your not immune to damage and just keep the distance use. This solution solves the fake hit issue and "fix mistakes" issue.
This is what a lot of people have been suggesting, and would likely be the most common-sense approach.
It would still be a really, really strong perk but wouldn't be a combination third health state/flashbang.
-
@RainehDaze said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2663256#Comment_2663256
Problem: with the fix to validation, it's now regularly possible for the survivor to use DH only when an attack would otherwise connect (hackers with auto-Dead Hard scripts show this off the most, though unlike most hacks it's humanly possible). Then we get the additional problems with fake hits etc. on top of that.
The more general consensus, here and from streamers, seems to be that it's not balanced for a perk to be something you play around (by sacrificing time in not attacking to try and bait it out) whether or not it's there, and then even if you do that it can still be held in reserve for a last-second dodge.
Which is the normal complaint about other survivor perks; not just that they're good second chances, but the part where their very existence and common use requires playing around when they're not there, essentially giving everyone not using them a ghost perk or two.
This.
DH, due to it's quirks, was something you had to time right and had an element of risk to it, to slightly offset it's ability to give a defacto third health state on a ridiculously short cooldown. This created a fun mindgame scenario - killers would try to bait it out, survivors tried not to get baited and had to time it more carefully.
Now, there's no risk. You don't really need to time it all that carefully either. Just wait for the lunge to start and boom, third health state and potentially fake hit to let you completely vanish.
The biggest indicator that DH (and COH but that's another discussion) need a nerf is that they change the entire meta of the game simply by existing - whether they are present in the game or not. Hell, survivors without DH can be even scarier, because of the 'ghost perk' situation you mentioned.
Both of these perks need to be adjusted for the health of the game. Survivor queues are getting longer and longer, and once Overcome is in the mix...yeah. Get ready for mayhem.

I mean I have watched both sides tell a story when it comes to streamers. There are those who think it is fair and those who do not.
Bottom line is that most of the complaints I see on here are "You cannot bait it out in a specific loop". Ok? That IS how the perk is supposed to work. You aren't suppose to be able to counter every single scenario out there. What is funny is that the same one keeps being brought up when like I said previously, there is an array or perks and playstyles (something that doesn't require to be part of the load out) that is instant specific for them to work.
Find me a credible streamer that thinks DH is fine, factoring in the 'fake hit' issue.
I'll wait.

I think that does need fixed. Not sure if they can though.
There is no way to fix it, because it's just a latency conflict.
Previously, Dead Hard would sometimes seem to have been timed correctly, but would fail and you'd be 'exhausted on ground'. That wasn't ideal - but the perk was still the most common survivor perk by a mile. It was strong enough to be meta, even with this quirk.
You could even argue that it was balanced around this, somewhat.
Which is what I've been trying to explain to you. An unfixable bug can be considered as a 'feature' for balance purposes.

I never said bugs were fine (at least not that I remember). I was only saying I believe DH is fine, that's it. All bugs need to be addressed.
Okay.
Let me see if I can rephrase this, because I'm not sure if you are understanding.
Shifting the validation of Dead Hard now means that, if you time DH perfectly, the killer will get the 'hit' visuals and audio cue and will lose vision of the survivor. However, no hit applies.
Because the killer not only gets the vision-obscuring 'hit' graphics but will immediately behave as if they hit, you will almost always be able to easily break the chase. You can watch some recent Otz/Tofu streams to see this being abused heavily.
It can also be used to interfere with some killer powers - for example, you drop a pallet. Nemesis uses his tentacle strike. Without Dead Hard, you'd either get smacked or the pallet would be broken. However, if you DH at the correct moment, the 'fake hit' prevents both.
This likely cannot be fixed, because it's just the old 'exhausted on ground' problem but with the issue shifted to the killer. Thus, Dead Hard has to be balanced around the 'bug'.
-
@throwaway79465468797 said:
Yeah DH by itself you can play around as a killer. Even 4 survivors with dead hard is not too strong. It's the combination of the strongest perks in the game, which 4 survivors can stack without any limits. That's the problem in high MMR.
No, it's DH that ties the whole mess together. It's a zero risk, massive reward 'I-Win' button frequently that amounts to a near permanent third health state. And that's before you factor in the fake hits.

The situation when there are only 2 survivors left and both are hiding in lockers is terrible
After the killer puts one of the survivors on the ground at death and with a calm soul goes to look for the last survivor, since he can no longer lose, just annoying
Since according to the new rules, the hatch appears when there is only one survivor
It is necessary to make sure that with each death of a survivor, the speed of repairing generators increases
Then 2 survivors have a chance to win
This will even solve the problem with face camping, since after the death of the survivor, the speed of repairing the generator will increase and it will become even more unprofitable for the killer to set up camp or tunnel
I thought this was going to be the last two survivors taking the game hostage at 1 gen remaining and hiding around the map.
But okay.
DbD works along what I've dubbed the Rule of 3.
If there are only 3 survivors alive by the time 3 gens are done, it's probably a 3-4k.
If there are 4 survivors alive by the time 3 gens are done, it's probably a 0-1k.
This game, by it's very nature, is snowbally. For both sides. There aren't many games which end in a 2k, unless the killer gives people gate or survivors take pity on a killer that got bullied.
Could that be fixed? Maybe.
But this would be a ridiculously strong buff to survivors, and also somewhat incentivize just sacrificing newer/weaker players.

He was a bit too powerful before his nerf. I feel like he is in a good spot right now.
Too powerful...what?
No, he wasn't. His only sin was that, like Cenobite, he was a bit tough for new players to deal with.
Anyway, CoH was already a defacto nerf for him (watch some recent survivor PoV streams where Wraith literally cannot do anything against CoH). The only problem he had was All-Seeing, and that got another bonk with the nerf stick.
There isn't a tier list out there that had Wraith above a mid 'B'.
The forum is already littered with complaints from high MMR players about the endless cavalcade of Huntress, Blight and Nurse at that level of play. The last thing we needed was making already-struggling killers worse.

@IronKnight55 said:

I disagree. I have no problems with it as killer.
Seriously, there's having 'an unpopular opinion' and there's thinking a pretty obnoxious, occasionally game-breaking bug is perfectly okay.
Either they need to fix fake hits (likely impossible) or DH will have to be rebalanced accordingly. It's too strong for it's cooldown at present and artificially reduces survivor builds as a consequence. Playing without DH is just playing the game 'wrong' at present, and that's a sign that balance is squiffy.
EDIT: That was probably a little mean, but I struggle with people who defend obvious bugs and broken stuff.

Agree with this post. DH is fine.
On low/intermediate MMR, it's okay.

It was the most meta of meta perks before the 'fix' (see: buff). Now it can be overwhelming.

He was perfect prenerf - still a solid 'B' tier but could at least do decently if you played him right. Just revert it and he'll be okay.

The beauty of this game is the survivors never know what kind of hag they are up against. Will it be a 3 gen totem guarding hag or something much much worst haha
I generally play a slow-rolling Devour Hope Hag with 'longer phantasm duration'+'phantasms get your terror radius' addons. It's...hilariously strong and scares the pants off people as they never know what's going on.

And it's simply for the fact of PC SWF groups I'm always going against.
I just feels ungodly unfair. The higher fluidity, speedy as ######### mouse aim, and generally they sweat and are more likely to annoy you with flash light clicking and tea bagging.
Yes Xbox Live had SWF, but at the same time they don't seem nearly as trolly or rude as the PC survivors.
Its just not fun being constantly clicked at, you get someone down, Chase off the other guy who was about to flashlight you, only for that three seconds two others with medkits get the other guy up, or you find one person, and by the time you get one hit, even in a fast loop or after a few seconds of chasing, to hear two gens pop one after the other.
Honestly SWF is killing the fun for me so fast that no matter what killer, build, perks, add ons, it feels like it's just a non stop yup I'm about to lose horribly again so why even play?
But Tofu if you play more you'll get better. No matter how much experience you have, or how long you play, you can't beat the unfair advantage of four people actively communicating on Discord, Xbox Live, or how ever else they talk. They have constant knowledge of you and what your doing, while you're just trying to keep up or you just go in a corner and let them win cause they have every single meta perk out there and just want to bully killer players into submission.
Huh.
Honestly, I find the console types to be the inevitably toxic SWFs. Most PC players I come up against are either the absurdly good SWF kill-crews with kanji names that roll me over in under 5 minutes, or memelords. It probably changes at higher MMRs though.
The only reason I'd consider turning off crossplay on console would be the hacker epidemic, but apparently they can just bypass that now. Ugh.

Monitor, Nurses, Sloppy, and after they start healing assuming you broke chase you can get them especially if the 4th perk is some sort of Oblivious giving one. I place traps in random areas away from pallets or windows to catch them in the open. Fun but you need to be aware of survivor's patterns.
Monitor is great. I've straight up grabbed people off gens with it. Pig, with Hag's terror radius would be a pretty fun killer.
I'm not a huge fan of Nurse's on her, I'd rather be putting down more traps.
Sloppy is decent, but doesn't really help if they are doing the 'bring BK, medkits and CoH, heal in approximately 1 nanosecond' build.
My go-to Hag build is Surge+DH+Monitor+CI/LP/BBQ

Dead Hard is the only exhaustion perk that actually encourages looping.
Sprint Burst, Lithe, Smash Hit, Balanced Landing and Overcome all basically just promote gaining distance holding W. They’re either for playing in unsafe positions or leaving loops.
Head On basically just promotes coordinating meme plays with SWFs.
Dead Hard is the only exhaustion that promotes traditional vault and pallet play at loops before and after the perk is used.
Without Dead Hard, I fear the hold W meta would be the only strategy for good Survivors because the other exhaustion perks encourage it.
Sure. And my tapeworm helps me lose weight. That doesn't mean that it's a positive thing.
The current incarnation of Dead Hard, when used appropriately is like an extra health state on a 40 second cooldown that also feeds the killer wrong information and sometimes futzes with their power.
If the latter can't be fixed, then DH is going to have to be balanced around this (ergo: nerfed).

Hag is a weird one. She's one of my favorite killers but I only play her when I need a break from Plague and Pig. The thing about Hag is the more I play as her the better I get/muscle memory and perfect trap placements etc. all that jush. Hag is a 4D Chess killer and definitely not for everyone. When I don't want to think I definitely don't play as her lol
I do my best to not camp with her because that play style is dreadfully boring and unfair. Phantasm Traps should dissipate when placed near hooks or not be able to be place immediately around a hook in general like Pyramid Head's trails of torment. It promotes an unhealthy playstyle that literally no one likes. That being said I will trap a basement hook though because reasons.
But yeah, I have the absolute most fun on Hag when I use my jump scare build using Granma's Heart + add-on of your choice and: Tinkerer/Monitor & Abuse/Pop/Corrupt (You can change things around, Dark Devotion adds to the chaos). Scaring the daylights out of survivors with her is genuinely the most fun I have in this game.
I generally hate playing against her because most Hags camp hard and use unfun stuff like Franklin's + trap the dropped items with Rusty Shackles etc etc.
If they don't camp it can actually be pretty fun though.
I always run Devour Hope on...well, most of my killers that I'm not running Plaything+Retribution on as I really don't like camping.
I'll tunnel like a demon though.

Unfortunately, the days of DbD being a niche, janky, horribly balanced memeworld are gone and now it's an increasingly popular, janky, horribly balanced slugfest.
I really do hope that the grumbling of veteran killers is going to persuade BVHR to make some long-needed and sweeping balance changes to maps and about half the killer roster as that's the only way I can see to reconcile the enjoyment of the high MMR monsters with the enjoyment of us newer or more intermediate types.

But overall I love her playstyle (and her appearance with her cosmetics)! I'm a big fan of placing random traps in areas survivors tend to run with less caution, and I used to run a Ruin/Devour Hope combo on her that worked fairly well, but that was a while ago...when I get back to her I need to give her loadout a makeover lol
Yeah. She has some of my favorite skins in the game by far.
I just wish her addons were more interesting. Half are effective (but boring) and the other half can feel worse than an empty slot.

She's also the sort of killer where you'll either snowball or get slapped, especially if you don't like to camp.
CoH hurts her and can turn matches into long wars of attrition - but CoH is going to get nerfed eventually.

Win or lose, CoH turns games into very long, very drawn out wars of attrition.

The only way to find out if they're cheating is if the Survivor is subtly increasing his movement speed which you would notice if you play enough killer where the Survivor is just getting distances that doesn't make sense off a lunge or a window.
Also I have heard that these Navy seals are actually playing at around midnight on my time(Asia region) until morning at least that's what I have heard from other Killer buddies.

I only want to make teachable the perks I actually want to use, to decrease the RNG change of appearing in the bloodweb of the perks I don't want to use.
I'm going for Self-care perk with Claudette Morel but that's unlocked at level 40, so by level 35 I have to unlock one of the 2 other teachable perks. Which is not necessarily bad, as both don't seem OP but also not that bad, above average in terms of perks.
They aren't Dead Hard, Prove Thyself, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable or Iron Will; but I believe they will work great with a medic survivor focused on healing others.
So I was wondering, are Empathy or Botany Knowledge and good gameplay wise? Enough to unlock one as a teachable?
Botany Knowledge's of 33% faster healing doesn't look like much. You what, reduce it from 16 seconds to 12 seconds? saving 4 seconds? most of the time, you won't need that.
But Empathy could have its uses. Seeing wounded teammates over a huge 128 meters can give you tons of map information. The issue is, you don't get to see the killer, but if one of your wounded teammates dissapears you know the killer is there. So I'm in doubt whether Empathy gives useful map information or limited map information.
Are they worth it? (Empathy, Botany Knowledge)
I also found the common Situational Awareness perk to be quite useful in this regard, allowing you to better syncronize with your team. But you have to repair a generator for this to take effect, so again. Kindred may be a better version of Situational Awareness and they overlap so it's not worth taking both.
I also used Premonition to get a better sense of the killer while doing gens. So I can sense him when looking in his direction. But Spine Chill is the same thing as Premonition except better in every aspect. It has no cooldown, the killer has to look at you, you get a visual cue. It's harder to do gens when Spine Chill activates but also you perform other actions like vaulting faster. And that 30 seconds cooldown is a big difference from no cooldown.
Any thoughts about these 4 common perks as well? (Situational Awareness, Kindred, Premonition, Spine Chill)
Self care is sort of nullified by the existence of CoH, but CoH is due a very heavy nerf so I'd pick it up in expectation if you want that ability.
Botany will almost never be a bad perk. Combine it with even a crappy medkit and CoH and you can get someone to full hp in the space of a DS stun essentially.

"i mean if you don't like losing then just play nurse" What if i don't like nurse? " well that sucks i guess find another game ? " I would like to continue enjoying this game but i would also like to enjoy it on a killer i like. If i can choose id prefer winning but i'm not going to play something i don't really enjoy for the sake of winning.
Instead i come here and cry about balance hoping for changes that will never come. But it's not all bad, sometimes all you need is a good cry 😪
Hag is sort of my 'Nurse'. I know the killer pretty well, she isn't weak on many maps and can often rip apart strong teams - because she's so rarely played that most don't even know what they are seeing when I pop up and bonk them.

I just want to talk about a really sweet game I had today. I love playing killer, since I got the game, about a month ago. But once I broke into purple ranks, nearly every game has become a constant fight to the death, where everyone fights tooth and nails for every little advantage, and it has been draining me.
After a whole bunch of really bad and draining games I had one that started just like so many others: one "bold" surivor would approach me, flashlight click and tbag me in order to provoke me into a pointless chase.
I would veer to the gen somewhat behind that surv and startle the group of gen-rushers there and even managed to down and hook one, not that bodyblocking and flashing from the designated looper nearly prevented that. I chased after the looper, came back empty handed and after about half a minute found another gen that was worked at. I chased after the survivors there and quickly noticed that the one I was chasing was the survivor that got just unhooked, so I broke chase, as not to tunnel her and tried to catch the other one.
Later the spared survivor approached me and pointed at me, and sorta thanked me? We nodded at each other and then went our seperate ways. I somehow managed to sacrifice one survivor, but the gens were just flying by and soon the exit gates opened, where the traditional killer humiliation took place, till I chased them through the door...
All save the survivor from earlier. She waved at me, then walked over to a hook and pointed vigoriously at it. And I was so touched, its hard to put into words. Altruism is often a one-way road, when you, as a killer, utterly smash a team, you might feel bad for them, especially when they give up and dont move, but the other way around I had only once before experienced some sympathy from the other side. And this survivor demanded that I hook her. I kinda felt bad, but after the match we had a very nice end game chat about this and even friendlisted each other.
I know its just a small moment, but it really made my day. Later I gave it back and spared two survivors, after sacrificing two of their friends and they gave up. I know that this game pits one group against another, but all too often the human element gets lost on the way. Just keep in mind that on the other side of the screen is another human who just wants to have some fun. You dont need to throw every game, but maybe have a little empathy every now and then, when you are super dominating.
I've had moments like this.
One of my favorites was running into a 3-man SWF group from another country without knowing it. I was playing Cenobite and they clearly had never faced one before. They really struggled, and after I had 2 hooks on everyone and 1 dead (not the SWF guy), I let them farm and ended up giving them gate.
Postgame, they started talking in Japanese about how imbalanced the game was - and I responded to them with 'well played, but you can't just run in straight lines against Cenobite and you need to find the box when chains start spawning'. In Japanese.
We ended up going back and forth and it turns out one of the guys was from a small fishing town where I'd lived for 5 years previously. Pretty incredible.

I mean its a good mentality you have there. Constantly self improving. Trying to find ways what you could do better. But when you never stood a chance? And you become just a punching bag for the survivors. Because they were never in danger of losing the match. Just pray that you like a strong enough killer that can deal with these situations. Because clearly 80% of the killer roster cant. Stay strong, keep learning. and hopefully less stressful mornings.
This is more a matter of the game being incredibly unbalanced in some places.
For instance, on my Hag games, the difference between facing CoH and not facing CoH is night-and-day.
Again yeah - when I lose I try to say 'what could I have done differently?'. It's the games where my answer is 'play another killer' that can be frustrating.

The truth is you are hated just because you have played as killer. It's something odd to get hate as survivor. It happened to me but only few times. As killer, I received a lot of hate messages even if I'm not tunneling. I camp only in EGC if I didn't had enough fun the whole match.
You get used to it. I think I've picked up how to call someone a 'tunneling noob' in Afrikaans, Japanese, Russian, French (well, probably French Canadian), German, Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish.
Killer hate knows no borders!

i don't know what servers you are on but when i que in the AM's as killer that can literally break your mental real quick. The utmost sweatiest SWF's and i've ever seen. For me its around 3am to 6am. Those games are the ones that make me really reflect on the games balance. Because there was never a chance to win. I didn't play perfectly but even if i did, wouldn't have mattered .
Myers And Ghostface are my favorite killers. They were the victims of the AM' ques cause i haven't touched neither of them and i don't plan to either. They are for me the coolest characters, but i'm not a masochist.
I don't mind losing, but these are the 'I'm not even sure if I learned anything there' stomps. I know that I get a lot of use out of my iri addons though :)
I'm wondering if MMR works differently for people in different reasons. It would explain the kanji-tastic SWFs.
Yeah, mornings I sort of have to stick to my Hag and Demogorgon, as these are the killers I know quite well and can at least sometimes get a 1-2k on. Everyone else (Cenobite...oh man), I get drilled within 5 minutes of the game starting.

That survivors don't use meta perks.
Yeah that's a 'proving the negative' fallacy. There's no way for him to prove that something doesn't happen, because that's literally impossible.
The burden of proof is always on the claimant for this exact reason :).

But I do play chill tho I never slug or tunnel or camp I even purposefully hit the guy with bt sometimes even though ik they got it just to show I'm all for everyone having fun
I enjoy the challenge of them trying to escape my basement of traps
Basement trapper is just how I enjoy playing the game and nowadays I feel like im being punished simply because that's how I get fun from this game
And yea ik it's it's result from having huge mmr with very little solo survivors around my mmr but like you said I find I primarily run into this problem at night for me personally
Are you west coast US? Cause I'm east coast so maybe that would explain our similar experiences?
I...have no idea. Early morning games are always impossibly good Chinese players, while afternoon/evening games are pretty balanced.
You know that you are getting a crazy high MMR, so yes - you'll be facing people with crazy high MMRs too. That's how matchmaking works :). It wouldn't be fair to pair you up against lowbies.

I'm not sure what you want proof of, exactly?
That they aren't facing these SWFs?
The argument from ignorance (or argumentum ad ignorantiam and negative proof) is a logical fallacy that claims the truth of a premise is based on the fact that it has not (yet) been proven false, or that a premise is false because it has not (yet) been proven true. This is often phrased as "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence".@GrayEyes said:

Not trying to ######### on you but I think out of the last 40 games I've played 30 were swfs with all meta perks the typical build was dead hard, borrowed time, circle of healing, and prove thyself
You can refuse to believe me all you want but ik what I played against and I gain nothing from lying about it so go ahead and don't believe
But I know for a fact I'm at the highest mmr cause I get 2-3 kills every game cause I always play basement trapper
So again I gain nothing by lying ik what I'm facing and ik it's not fun
I see similar stuff, especially on my early morning games (something is hinky with MMR around that time, I have a suspicion). But this is also a product of you massively inflating your MMR to the point where you are only going to be facing squads with similar massively inflated MMRs.
If you played a bit more chill, you'd usually face more chill groups.

I genuinely enjoy it. A lot. I don't really believe it's as bad as a lot of people are making it out to be. Yes there are definitely some annoying things to deal with but they don't ruin the game. i don't need to 4k every game to have fun. I don't need to worry about my mmr to have fun. I don't need to care about a survivor tbagging at an exit gate and take it as the worst insult ever known.
Contrary to popular belief, not every survivor uses all the meta perks, there's not a constant stream of 4 stacks sweating as hard as they possibly can, and most survivors are not out to get you. They just want a fun and interactive game too. That's not to say you won't occasionally get an angry doorknob of a person who spews some horrible things at you in chat, but unless you can show me solid proof of it happening literally every game, I can't and refuse to believe any claim saying its happening all the time to them.
And if a survivor DOES tbag, point, flashlight click.. whatever it is. Dude, it's in good fun. Not every single person does it to be annoying or to upset you. And it's also not just a you thing. It's not personal. So don't take it as such.
Yes and no.
I also enjoy killer. I find survivor gameplay/perks to be a bit tedious and repetitive, while every killer and build feels unique.
However, even at intermediate MMR, I'm facing a lot of CoH based SWFs which forces me into specific builds on certain killers and everyone's using Dead Hard etc.

I use it to justify tunneling :)
There's no need to 'justify' tunneling. Getting 1 player dead ASAP is your goal as killer. That's just how the game plays out if you want to 'win'.

Yes it has nothing to do with latency. Its framerate
Then I have no idea. It's probably bannable, but again - difficult to prove.

I just got out of a match where I was against a SWF and they all expected me to farm because of the event. I DONT FARM. I play both sides and as a survivor I hate farming matches because they're boring and ruin gameplay. As a killer I don't do them because I like to earn my points and rank. When they realized I wasn't going to farm they all went to a place where they new I couldn't carry them to hooks so when I did they would escape and then just run back to the same place. I ended up hook killing 2 of them but one DCd as they died and I let the other 2 bleed out. A guy messaged me after saying I'm a POS pretty much because I was one shorting them with Michael Meyers and because I didn't farm for them. He thinks I was just gonna tunnel everyone out of the game but I literally had no intentions to do that. I try to hook everyone one by one and then go from there I never tunnel off the hook and I only stay by the hook when I know there's someone that's also by the hook. So my question is am I ######### player because I didn't give this SWF their match on a silver platter? Or am I right in doing what I did? I also reported them for exploits but I doubt anything will come from that.
Ignore them.
Play how you want to play.
If they are crawling to spots where you can't pick them up (happened to me last night), bug report and report them postgame.
Sometimes I want to farm. Sometimes I don't. I'll generally let polite group farm once I've established control over the game, but I'm not going to be pushed into it.
@scenekiller said:
Why didn’t you just farm? Or if you’re REALLY adverse to it, pretend to farm and then kill them all, thus allowing you to move on?
I understand if farming isn’t your thing, but it was one match. Why not just go through it and then move on to the next match?
Because it's really, really boring.
In games where I want everyone to get BP, I'll injure them and let them heal up in the exit gates a few times. That's it.
I'm not going to let them endlessly pallet stun me and stuff.

That the game needs something to address that beyond being able to report somebody after the game. Which you can't do if you DC, which is obviously a problem.
The person who's not doing something wrong having to take a penalty to get out is a temporary fix at best.
I don't DC.
What I'll do against groups who take the game hostage is go somewhere, turn my killer to face a wall and pop on an episode of Bob's Burgers or something.

Had already my second hacker with his funny infinit flashbangs that can blind you for idk how long, a min? He forced me basicly to dc cuz they didnt do gens and were just trolling around and therefore just wasting my time so I was forced to dc cuz .. you know.. I want to play xD
Still really sad that ppl do this and think they are funny.
No.
Hell no.
I'm already seeing far too many DCs. DC penalty off makes this game unplayable for days - survivors will DC the second they see you, often.
If I get a hacker, that's usually a sign to start recording, get some footage of him - then go and get a cigar or something. Let them waste their time, report them after the game.

What is your opinion on his 3 new perks?
I think that the new Boon might be OP in some cases / againts some Killers (hello Twins). Overcome sounds good but it will not beat DH I think. And his last skillcheck perk is so bad lol.
Overcome is going to probably be OP. Boons as a whole are almost certainly going to get nerfed in the midpatch (CoH is too strong as it is).
Exponential will be fine.

@SkeletalElite said:
I won't say too much about how to do it but it is basically the act of flicking with a sharper angle than intended by briefly limiting your frame rate.
Is this exploit something BHVR will ban for using?
Frame rate or latency?
The latter would be lag switching which - yes - is definitely bannable.
The former...I honestly have no idea. If it's using a third party app/macro then yes it's probably bannable but it would be tricky to prove.

Michi, aka Lord of the Hag, posted an hour long video called Totem Trouble for Halloween where he just killed survivors over and over who were cleansing and blessing totems.
Granted, I'm nowhere near his MMR - but yeah. Plaything+Devour+Retribution+x works quite well against boons.
However:

If there's one killer that can't commit to chases or it loses the game it's Hag. I allways thought medkits were really strong against Hag, but at least they eventually run out.
I feel like it's not even worth leaving the hook and need to make sure somebody is allways hooked all the time and play around it. Has anoyne come with a better strat or is this just the state of Hag nowadays?
CoH needs a nerf. That's all there is too it. Even some of the most chill, least nerfherdy streamers mention it constantly. In coordinated teams, it's too strong - to the point of hard-countering entire killer toolkits, and snuffing it is essentially pointless.
It'll eventually get nerfed (my guess is the midpatch) and until then, on Hag and Wraith especially, you just have to build around the expectation of facing it every game.

You are talking like this is a bad thing.
@Topic:
Like every Hag-player plays - Hook someone, place a Gajillion Traps around the Hook and if that person gets unhooked, either head back because they can only crouch away, or teleport, if they triggered any Traps. Adding Make your Choice would also help.
Don't be a jerk lol.
Camper Hag is as boring to play as it is to face.

Queue's for Survivor are running ~ 10 minutes atm, for me at least.
If I recall, you have crossplay off. That's going to give you very long queue times.
