Assuming this was reported to support or at least a bug report on the forums made if one didnt already exist?
Yeah I made a bug report after the match and reported the dude, but can't even find anecdotal evidence of people being banned for this stuff.
Still annoying.

There's also a spot on Haddonfield. Near one of the high fences I couldn't pick up a Nancy for some reason. Luckily I was playing PH and still could send her to a cage
Found another bloody 'survivor cannot be picked up by killer but can be healed from' spot on Disturbed Ward today. Not going to say anything more as it's really easy to abuse and spawns every game, in a spot where you can almost always reach.
Frustrating.

This is a very long thread I wanted to talk about because seriously it needs to be addressed, everything I am talking about needs to be addressed in some sort of way
Perks
Perks I really want to talk about, why? Well we have FAR too many now and with how often content is being pushed out, alot of perks are being left in the dust and forgotten entirely
And I know you are asking, "Hoodied you may be a silly dude who doesn't exactly do balance justice so why are you talking about perks being left in the dust?" because I care about this video game enough to make a thread that will do absolutely nothing to create change thats what! but besides that new perks are also being created that are...a weird mix of utter garbage or problematic. Adding new content is only gonna slow down the process of allowing multiple different perks to be used instead of the same 4-16 out of our 174 teachable perks (Don't know the total amount of perks overall, don't want to check either) and along with most of that 174 being gimmicky perks, they won't ever be used as a "meta" perk due to the gimmick being so massive example being the existence of Yun-Jin's perks, where all of them are a gimmick of sorts and are super situational (Smash Hit is if you stun the killer with a pallet, Fast Track that boosts your great skillcheck boost on gens but requires your teammates to be hooked for it to work, and self-preservation being a perk that only works whenever you are close to a survivor being hit by the killer), then you have the perks in which are just flat out bad (Lmao imagine thinking visionary is a good perk, you get more from deja vu than this perk) and alot of these perks were released over a year ago and have been just forgotten or barely touched up on, infact we even have 1 perk that I am still 100% positive does NOT work (Sole Survivor) as it has no feedback on if its working or not, every single Ash perk (You'd expect licenses to be noticed in the good perk category but nope most of the perks for licensed chapters are super bad except for Laurie's DS and Bill's Unbreakable)
You'd also expect that if a perk apart of a chapter is being changed the other perk's for that character would be looked into but nope. Along with the army of bad perks, we've also got severely outdated perks, etc etc
And with the constant flow of content being added to the game which adds more perks, the game will eventually get perks that are better versions of older perks due to how forgotten they are (Funny thing is, we already do have a few perks that do this)
Killer's add-ons
You'd expect that add-ons would be the most important things to focus on for balance, but surprisingly I have been disproven by how Pyramid Head still has an add-on set so bad that only his range add-ons are good, he has been in the game for over a year now and his add-ons suck still. But outside of pyramid head, alot of the status effect add-ons are completely useless still (Like 60 seconds of blindness isn't good at all) and some killers even have add-ons where the effect nerfs them
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XNUSU0WOHSOO/image.png
Like seriously, I see how 25% is big but so is moving at 110% as now you rely on your chainsaw for movement constantly, which is really noticeable when you are already a killer who is restricted to being careful with your power, so if you are restricted to your M1 with this add-on you might as well leave that chase
Now the problem with constant add-ons is how every killer has 20 add-ons (Can't remember if its 19, 20, or 21), so having to balance that many add-ons is surprisingly difficult when you constantly get new add-ons due to a new killer releasing
Survivor's items and add-ons
Yes, survivor items and add-ons are important too, because alot of them have problems
Most of the flashlight's add-ons have effects that aren't noticeable or is Odd Bulb
Maps still need to be entirely reworked or just scrapped all together
Keys aren't problematic anymore for killers but I will be using its aura reading capabilities as something to talk about, broken keys are useless if gotten from chests and need the proper add-ons to be useful, and alot of the aura reading add-ons drain that key very fast
Medkits and toolboxes are weird, as they are indirectly changed so often with new updates that I can't say anything
Firecrackers literally have add-ons that were never used because they weren't ever put into the base game due to "wanting to make them exclusive to events " but are extremely weird to use and to get a blind with them it can be hard because they are so...loud
Alot of these still need tweaked, but aren't because of the broken record that I am
Maps, map offerings, and offerings
Alot of maps have balance issues (Looking at you Haddonfield) and map offerings can result in you being pushed into a map that you cannot play on whatsoever, "But hoodied just use a sacrificial ward or your own map offering" I would do that if this game's grind didn't feel like trying to get a 5 star in genshin impact without spending money, along with that you have a what if moment, what if nobody uses a map offering? Now you wasted a sacrificial ward and you wasted a Blood Point offering opportunity. On the topic of offerings, alot of offerings are really strange and can hurt the killer/survivors straight off the bat (Shroud offerings) and Mori's (OMG I said the M word) are being reworked yes so I won't talk about those. But now you have the other offerings that choose where basement and hatch, where its either you can't use them or stuff them back into the ol' offering maker because now its in the game and is only used in meme builds or if you really want a hatch escape.
Conclusion
Conclusion is that I got really bored when making this and it took like an hour. Real conclusion is that we really need to do less chapters and focus more on old content instead of new, going to bed now cause good lord I am tired
In short:
- Yes, about 2/3 of the killer roster needs an addon pass and about half need a Plague level rework and a buff.
- Survivor perks have the opposite problem, in that there are a lot of really good ones overshadowed by a handful of OP ones that you'd be foolish not to bring.
- Map balance and often 'feel' is atrocious. There are maybe 12 maps that need a serious rework.
- Flashlights do have a lot of uses (Hag traps for instance) but yes, they do need a rework.
- Toolboxes are a problem when used with high tier addons in a coordinated group. They are fine otherwise.
- Ditto medkits.
- I'm fine with map offerings (I still seek out the Yamaoka ones, can never get tired of those maps), the problem is - as you point out - map balance and quality.
- Further Hook addons should not be a thing. Or at least, not allowed to stack. You've never experienced hell like Grim Pantry or Badham with 3 of the suckers.
- I'd love a season of 'we fix a lot of stuff'.

Back in 2017 around when the doctor released, I remember watching the trailer for that killer and I was so hyped to play! I bought the game and even though it was very weird to me at the time lol I had a lot of fun. The game was sure riddled with a lot of unbalance but I didn't care...the game used to feel dark and spooky, the game used to feel bigger. I really REALLY wish Behavior would bring that feeling back and disable MMR. It just don't work with this type of game! I love this game, but as of recent I just got so tired of playing. This game is just not meant to be competitive and that is fine. I do think a competitive mode would be sweet though, like adjusting pallet numbers and jungle gyms and such. This game just doesn't feel like it used to and it kind of makes me sad. :/
I still have the recording of mine!
Last year, just before Blight released. I watched a whole bunch of videos and guides and bought Bubba.
Loaded in on...I think it was Temple.
Chased a survivor and downed them, hooked them and thought 'hey, if I wait here his mates will come to save him!'.
And so was born another Basement Bubba. It took me a while to come to the forums where I figured out that this was considered BM. I kept playing Bubba but didn't like him much. Tried the 'free' killers, played Nurse for a bit and then I bought Hag and the rest is history. Still my favorite killer to play (although Demo is gaining on her due to her addons mostly either being terrible or boring).

Two survivors 1 Gen left and none have been started and decided I'll slug he has a more you can put someone on a hook and simple hunt the last person. This isn't where oh there's hatch I'll wait no hatch doesn't appear and people rarely bring hatch offerings why slug simple hook, hunt and test your luck. Also those who say your typing this because you delt with a slugger I deal with them a lot I don't slug because I accept DS even though I don't get how If you heal yourself or someone it deactivates but if your healed it doesn't.
...Okay.
- Slugging is an unfortunate mechanic. Honestly, I wish we could just hook directly after the second hit.
- However, it exists to give *survivors* a chance after being downed.
- A lot of the time, it is beneficial to down one person and leave them slugged to hunt for another person. The final two is, again unfortunately, an example of this. If a killer doesn't want to give hatch, he doesn't have to.
- Bring Unbreakable if you aren't comfortable being slugged.
- What does need to be addressed is situations where killers slug all 4 survivors and leave them to bleed out to BM.

Whenever anything is popular someone demands it to be nerfed. Look at adrenaline, back in 2018 I uses to see post after post and meme after meme about how it was zero skill.
Back when billy was seen 1/5 games minimum you got the occasional post of him needing a nerf (this one wasn't as bad but you literally see none now).
When spirit was popular, (whether or not she deserved it).
And heck, even post nerf self care was called strong at a time.
My point with all this? Maybe to let some of the people who have this kind of usage=strength mentality aren't always right. While a good bit of the time what's popular is what's strong I think everyone could benefit from looking at things a little more closely over just seeing and then immediately saying.
What do you think? Am I just rambling off the obvious? Feel free to say.
Uhm.
Where do I start here?
- 'Popular' is fine. Stuff can be popular without being crazily OP.
- Adrenaline is still ultra-strong, potentially OP. You don't see much of it because there are even better perks. And that's...saying something.
- 'Meta' killers are a bit of a different matter. They aren't picked so much because they are strong, but because around 3/5 of the killer roster is too weak, clunky or has bad, boring addons.
- Spirit wasn't OP, but she could be irritating to play against as there often wasn't much counterplay to her. She's still very strong.
- OP things aren't good for a game, as they artificially reduce choice. Survivor perks are a good example of this - CoH, Dead Hard and a few others are just so overwhelmingly effective that not bringing them is playing the game 'wrong'. Killers/killer perks on the other hand have the opposite problem. Something as janky and unreliable as Ruin, for instance, is still meta - because the other options are mostly meh.
- Usage is often indicative of relative strength. This is what 'meta' means in this context. It's the gaming equivalent of natural selection.
- There is stuff on both ends that needs to be dialed up, but there is also probably stuff that needs to be dialed down. The effectiveness of facecamping and slugging on killer, for instance and several survivor perks on the other end.

Today I decided to learn how to play nurse, take advantage of the Hunt, maybe figure her out a little bit. Figured the extra points would make up for how boring games against me would be. I'm just trying to blink places, like I said, I'm completely new to any of the alternative-style killers, I'm a Bubba/Demo/Nemesis type of player.
I'm cranking out old challenges about chasing glyphs, kicking gens, etc. Stuff I can blink around and do. I'm trying to patrol using blink, I'll take a swing, try to chase, but I'm not really at the point where I can hit anyone after a blink unless it's just good luck. I'm not going for kills, I'm at top MMR and wouldn't mind sliding back to the middle where I belong. I'm just trying to learn the basics.
So today I got two 4k's, four 3K's and lots of 2Ks. So many douchebags playing this game drooling for any chance to bully someone. Didn't you people have parents? What the hell makes skilled players act like sick weirdos? Nobody thinks you're cool.
So anyway, don't bully a baby nurse with the assumption they are a baby killer. I will down you on loops using the slowest killer, I'll blink around you until you die, I'll get others from your team if they come for you. Ask the ones I took out today. You can't escape from a non-blinking nurse? Don't make me embarrass you like I did multiple survivors today.
Now leave me the ######### alone when I'm doing my thing. I'm going back to my blinking, be nice and you'll get most the points. Act like a douche and I'll kill you on first hook.
I feel your pain.
There are some people who will teabag in the exit gates and call you a scrub in postgame after you gave them gate after a DC.
Just...have to remember that these are almost certainly very unhappy people who don't really have an outlet other than being jerks to anonymous strangers online.

So I just picked up Hag since she was on sale and I've used her for a couple of matches but does anyone else feel like shes a little outdated? I feel like they need to do something to make her a little stronger. I feel like her traps aren't really effective if you're going against a team that has any sort of communication plus if you know you're facing one you can just continue to squat over her traps which are her only abilities. I just feel like she seems really easy to counter. She has some good perks but with Boon totems I feel like hex's arent that good anymore. Just some food for thought and I was curious what other people thought.
Hag?
No, she's still very strong. CoH is about the only thing that really hurts her - and CoH is going to get nerfed eventually (it's just too strong).
What I would like to see for her is an addon pass though, as a lot of hers are worse than an empty slot.

What did he say about demo? If he said Red Moss was absolute FFF dumpster tier and that Lichen was good, hes be absolutely correct.
Red Moss has won me so, so many games. The undetectable+silent emergence lets you get so many easy grabs/chases, especially if you combine it with soda can or lichen. 15 seconds of undetectable on demand with almost no cooldown is pretty solid.

This is coming from a Survivor main who hasn't played killer in a long, long time.
I play this game solo most of the time, mostly by preference and also because I can't really find anyone chill enough not to take each game too seriously. If we can keep each other alive, do gens and escape, great, if we can't, we can't. I try hard to just have a good time playing the game, I don't want to hear anyone complain every match that they happen to die. When I play solo, I do try to help the team, take hits when opportune, etc., etc., but if I can't do everything like a pro survivor, which I'm not, then the game might just turn towards the killer's favor. That's natural, sometimes you "win" as survivor, sometimes you don't.
What I absolutely hate is when my fellow teammate turns to work with the killer to get me out of the game. Why? I don't know why but I do have inferences. If we're the last two standing, then I'll try to get a gen (or more) done safely. If the other person happens to give chase to the killer, I'll absolutely do my best to complete the gens, but it's hard to do when you're injured yourself. But if I'm the one looping the killer, almost every time, the other person just hides and does nothing; that I can tell. I'm so sick of the other teammate somehow convincing the killer to make a pact to find me, just so they'll probably live. I absolutely hate this practice and it happens more times than you think. Can't control how [BAD WORD] <--(rhymes with kitty) a person decides to be.
And to take it even further, if I get caught and there's a chance the other person will live, I'll try to kill myself quickly on hook so they can possibly get hatch.
There's various other gripes I deal will as a solo survivor, but above is what I hate the most about the experience.
So, is it worth switching towards playing more killer? I used to play killer a long time ago like Legion or Ghostface, but I found Survivor much more fun. I just really hate what I have to endure when I play this game, plus people say killer is much more stressful now. A part of me only wants to play killer as a way retaliation against "certain" people, but I know that's not a good excuse.
What should I do?
Yes!
But...a few things:
- When you start off, your MMR will be 'average' - you'll probably have a dozen or more very tough games before it gets calibrated correctly. Just slam them out and do as well as you possibly can.
- Killer is a very demanding role. About 230 hours on killer my side and I'm still very much learning. It's not something you'll master overnight.
- Start with an 'M1' killer, doing so will stop you from developing bad/lazy habits.
- You will lose games. People will teabag and be jerks about it. You'll have to develop a pretty thick skin.
- Find one or two killers you know you'll like and learn them inside and out first.
- Make sure you grab BBQ ASAP and try to unlock it on all the killers you can as soon as you can. The BP gain is just too good to pass up, and it's a decent perk on top of this.
And probably the best advice:
@SleepyWillo said:
I've switched over to kill. Youre games are only as sweaty as you make them be. If you play for fun and not for kills, dont pull your hair out if you dont get a 4k, etc you can have a lot of fun. I play for fun and memes. I always try to let the last person go so my mmr doesnt sky rocket. I dont sweat and so my mmr doesnt put me into sweats. Its a lot of bloodpoints and I get to meme >.<
This.
If you sweat for the 4k every game, you'll end up sweating for the 2k eventually. Take it easy, play your best and try to have fun. Consider giving fun and polite survivors hatch and don't be a facecamper!

If the community stops crying about MMR, and starts demanding better balance changes in a constructive way, then maybe we'll see better results.
I wouldn't characterize it as 'crying'. I definitely understand how it would be frustrating to go from being a high MMR player under ranks to MMR. But I do think that it's going to be better for the health of the game as a whole.

I can't trust the add on opinions of a guy who is famous for playing most of his matches with no add ons or weak ones. I honestly think the average 2k+ hour player likely has more experience with killer add ons than otz because they haven't done 10+ 50 game streaks using 0 add ons. Otz has good advice on some stuff, especially general knowledge of the game, but add ons is one aspect I don't trust him on because he just didn't use any for a long time and often gives opinions on them without ever using them.
From my understanding he does that because he's played with the good ones endlessly and is mostly just playing in a way that holds his interest.
I do agree somewhat on addons, especially Plague (he vastly overrates the iris) and Demo (he doesn't seem to enjoy Demo much so doesn't really seem to play him) but I totally agree on his maps and builds videos.
Perks...I'm still not sure if people overrate CI or if it's just my own inexperience.

I'm not required to agree with a guy who rates Freddy bottom 5 and worse than Legion after playing him with random perks and such for under an hour. Otz is a nice guy from everything I have seen. He isn't automatically right though just because he is very popular in the community.
I think he's factoring in addons as well.
I do disagree with some of his picks - I think he underrates Doctor too, but he is definitely right on the money most of the time.

No, the celebration referred to by the pilgrims was a harvest celebration that originated in Europe. There is no evidence, that native Americans were even invited.
Days of Thanksgiving did indeed predate Lincolns holiday, but had nothing to do with the Pilgrims, except religion.
Ah, we're talking past each other here.
I'm referring to the latter, you are referring to the former.
Regarding the actual 'first Thanksgiving' narrative, it's one of those things where we'll never know the truth. History doesn't break down easily into black and white, and applying modern moralities to it and then bickering is seldom productive.
As it stands, it's just a fan day we all get to enjoy together.

MMR starts you at an average MMR, and it'll take a few matches to calibrate. Stick with it, it really does get better.

Depends on where your skill was before, high mmr sucks especially for weaker killers so any time away and not practicing etc. Will just increase that.
I took a break for 20days and played my first few games today, first game was hackers, next meta swf and the next dcs so I just turn it off again lol.
If you're at a lower more casual killer level it might be okay?
To be fair, in your case 2 of those 3 games had nothing to do with MMR.
I totally agree that killers need proper unique MMR. Pegging a totally new killer you've never played before to the MMR of your best killer is ridiculous.

People do complain about the balance, a lot, but people give it up because they don't change things soon enough. That's why they become complacent because they have to, no choice. So it makes sense when it gets worse, when new perks getting added to the meta instead of replacing it like boon circle of healing.
If anything is going to change this, the MMR issues will.
BHVR do seem to be moving in that direction (frigging CoH excepted) but they do tend to move at a glacial pace. Trapper finally got some love, Pig got a...bit of help (just make her terror radius the same as Hag and be done with it imho), Plague is legitimately fun to play now, Artist looks solid and Ghostface and Legion are both earmarked for reworks.
The next 6 months are going to be very interesting.

@[Deleted User] said:
Well, they can't solve the issue with balance, which makes MMR the issue. MMR isn't fit for an asymmetrical game. It's just not fun.
Here's the core of the problem, though.
Fun for who?
I find it fun. Excepting the occasional bizarro match (which I have to wonder if the MMR is trying to recalibrate me or something), the quality of my various matches has increased so, so much.
The people who seem to be struggling with MMR are:
- Veteran players, who now encounter far fewer lower skilled players as opponents, resulting in the aforementioned balance/meta issues. This is indeed a problem, but it's not really one with an easy fix. High MMR in basically every game tends to be a place with an ossified meta and less flexibility to meme around.
- Survivors. This I do understand, and I'm certain that BHVR will be working to make it more nuanced for them. A binary 'died/escaped' is not reflective of survivor skill. This also really highlights how badly solo survivors need better tools to communicate.
I don't think that 'it's an asymmetrical game' really holds water. Honestly, symmetrical balance hasn't really been a thing since Starcraft 1. I think it's more that as the game grows (it's going to be pushing 60k average players by mid next year I'd guess - that's huge) better, fairer matches for newer and intermediate players will have to be a priority.

Eh, tomato, topoloday.
The celebration itself predates it significantly and was definitely widely observed before.
Lincoln made it more of an 'officially' codified national-level holiday rather than something that drew it's character more from specific states.

I can assure you it gets old for the remaining survivors very, very fast. Not to say you should farm, but please go easy on us.
I'll always go easy on people after a DC - unless you are BM.
However, in maybe 20% of these cases, I then get yelled at postgame and threatened with 'holding the game hostage' reports for 'not just ending'.
It's a lose/lose.
I will definitely wipe you out if you have multiple DCs (unless there is like 1 gen left) or if you teabag/flicky me.

I think you have to play games without DCing to make the penalty tier decrease after you can play again.

Agreed. I don’t condone it at all, but I definitely see why. My matches have all been rough today, both as (solo) survivor and killer.
People are just purposely being petty to prevent the others from getting points, and some players would rather just dc than put up with it, I suppose.
I've had a relatively easy few games as survivor, but my killer games have been quite brutal.
What's annoying is that it only seems to be against Pinhead. Hag, Demo, Doctor - not a single DC.

What's even more galling is that this causes me to depip, and Iri pips are actually somewhat tricky to maintain.

Go play 5 games as a soloQ survivor and then come back. Kayyyyyyy
Just did.
It's...fine. Still substantially less stressful and more forgiving than playing killer a lot of the time.
I would like solos to have better tools for communication, but the amount of games I've come up against a Wraith who had absolutely no chance thanks to CoH or a Blight that got sent to RPD and really struggled to get many hooks is quite something.
While I'll always gravitate towards the role, it's certainly a very stressful and often very unrewarding one. There is a reason survivor queues can run me up to 10+ minutes while my killer gets 90 second queues at the outside.

From what I've gathered as an outside observer: being forced into contact with people you want nothing to do with, ostensibly with a lavish celebration that's often badly done, and being miserable?
I guess this BP weekend is right in the spirit of things then!

As an American History teacher, few in America really understand the truth of the holiday.
It was enacted by Abraham Lincoln, a day of thanks, in 1863 after the Civil War looked to finally be winnable.
The pilgrims and turkey ######### is BS.
But, I get your joke, unfortunately a truth for many.
Eh...Thanksgiving is a really complicated phenomenon (like...basically every other 'holiday') and yes, it's origins are debated. From my understanding, Lincoln affixed it to a specific date, but it was observed widely before then, with the dates and customs differing slightly from state to state. It was later altered again with the hopes of providing an economic boost.
To some, it's a harvest festival. To others, it has a religious or historical significance.
But for most people, it's just a time for you and your loved ones to eat an enormous amount of food and get into heated political debates with that one uncle (everyone has that one uncle - and sometimes I'm that uncle too).

I can agree with that completely. As killer I do have to agree the emblems can be kinda wonky. Especially considering a very fast 4k can lead to low emblems. So maybe the best change would honestly be killer mmr being based on kills, and survivors mmr being based off emblems
I'm okay with this. I think survivor MMR could be a product of both emblems and escape status. It would have to be done very carefully to avoid survivors inadvertently inflating their MMR.
Personally, if it was up to me - I'd also make 'killed' survivor MMR gains/losses change depending on how many generators were completed before their death.
But yeah, it's really complicated.

It's not like all the emblems need to have a 1:1 weighting.
As I said in a thread another day: they're already tracking everything that could make for a more comprehensive MMR system (and one that casts a much finer net than all accounts of the current MMR suggest). Just having a notion that "if all these symbols are gold/red, I did well and will probably have higher MMR going forward" is something.
And not the absolutely binary selfish survivor win/loss condition, or the killer's "Is this a win or what?" due to vagueness around how many kills count for MMR and if it's treated as a 1v4 or 4 1v1's
I'm sure they will continue to refine the system as they go. I wouldn't be surprised if it's already been tweaked a lot - I know that my matches are quite a bit more even than they were a month ago.

Here's another few (this is a really fun idea by the way)
Ghostface
It Could Be Anyone!
For the next 180 seconds, you become Undetectable, your appearance is altered to be identical to a random living survivor and you may sprint, walk, vault and pretend to perform repair or heal actions. You may stalk and attack survivors while in this state. Placing two survivors into the Dying state will revert Ghostface to his standard form.
Can be used once per game.
The Cenobite
Hell on Earth
You immediately summon the Box to your location, and access The Maze.
This immediately begins a Chain Hunt and the aura of the Box is hidden from survivors for 60 seconds.
While Hell on Earth is active, all exits are blocked.
The Cannibal
Golden Chainsaw
Once per game, your chainsaw becomes substantially enhanced for 60 seconds. Striking objects other than survivors will no longer end Chainsaw Sweep and charges return 50% faster. While this is active, you may instantly break pallets.
The Doctor
A Thing of Lightning And Pain
Once per game, you may overcharge yourself for 30 seconds. While overcharged, hitting a survivor with any of your abilities will apply the Hindered status effect. If a survivor reaches maximum Madness, they are placed into the Dying state.
While in this state, The Doctor moves 15% slower.
The Trickster
Encore!
Once per game, you may use an enhanced version of Main Event for 20 seconds. While using Encore! Trickster's knife count does not decrease and his knives travel 30% faster. Hitting a survivor with a knife will increase the duration of Encore! by 1 second.
The Huntress
Come To Me, My Prey
Once per game, you instantly gain 10 extra hatchets and the auras of all survivors within 48m are revealed to you. While in this state, your hatches travel 50% faster and will pierce 1 wall or object. This lasts until all 10 hatchets have been thrown.
Michael Myers
The Shape Of Evil
Once per game, you may apply Exhausted and Oblivious to the obsession. For the next 45 seconds, you gain the ability to kill the obsession by your own hand but cannot damage any survivor that is not the obsession.
The Pig
Amanda's Game
Once per game, upon hooking a survivor, you may instantly place a rigged reverse bear trap on that survivor. This activates after the survivor is unhooked. This trap has an identical timer to a regular trap, but can only be removed by another survivor. This takes 24 seconds and will apply Deep Wound and Hemorrhage to the survivor removing the trap. Progress is not lost if this is interrupted.
The aura of the trapped survivor is visible to all other survivors.
If Amanda's Game is activated with only one survivor remaining, it instantly activates - killing that survivor.
If you attack the survivor wearing the rigged trap, it is immediately removed.

Twins
Gemini Rampage
Recall Victor to you. For the next 120 seconds, Victor will automatically leap at any survivor within 12 meters of Charlotte, damaging them for one health state and returning to Charlotte immediately. Victor will also leap at dropped pallets, breaking them instantly. Leaping incurs a 6 second cooldown. If a leap fails to hit any survivor or breakable object, this cooldown is reduced by 50%.
While Gemini Rampage is active, you cannot control Victor.

I really like the name!
I called Pyramid Head's a simple "Otherworld Transition" but maybe I should have named Nemesis's rocket launcher power "Advanced Armaments"
Pyramid Head
City of Ashes
Once per game, you activate a gateway to Silent Hill. This applies the Tormented, Exhausted and Blindness status to all survivors for 60 seconds and you become Undetectable for 60 seconds.
Nemesis
Final Mutation
Once per game, you may ascend to Mutation level 4. This transforms you into an enormous immobile monster at the furthest point of the map from all generators, gates and hooked survivors. Survivors can see your aura at all times.
While in this state, 4 zombies will spawn for every living survivor and will pursue survivors at 3.0 m/s. Additionally, a railgun will spawn in a random spot on the map. The aura of the railgun will be visible to survivors.
To end Final Mutation, a survivor must acquire the railgun and use it on Nemesis, reverting him to his standard form.
While Final Mutation is activated, the exit gates are blocked by a wall of zombies.

Nurse- a sort of way to inflict deep wound.
Her story is about her being a nurse after all, shed know where to hit to make it bleed a ######### tonne.
Maybe it could be like a single blink hit kinda Deal.
Nurse
Breathtaker
You actively seek out the breath of the living.
Once per game, you may gain 12 Blink charges and the auras of all survivors are revealed to you for 20 seconds.
@TeabaggingGhostface said:
Trapper would probably put all the survivors into a mine and blow it up
Trapper
Field of Screams
Once per game, you recall all the traps on the map to you. Until you have placed these traps, placing a trap is instant and your aura is hidden from survivors.
@Miles said:
Lit survivors on fire. Wraith.
Which btw, a coincidense 100%, but when uncloaling Wraith looks like he is burning. Which coincides with him getting burned in his backstory
Wraith
Lightbane
Once per game, you usurp the power of the Entity, causing all generators, pallets and exit gates to become invisible to survivors for 30 seconds. While Lightbane is activated, you may attack without decloaking.
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
Demogorgon
The Demogorgon is able to bring a Survivor into the Upside Down. Once in the Upside Down, The Demogorgon is able to devour the Survivor, which will kill the Survivor and will grant the Demogorgon Killer Instinct on all Survivors remaining in the Trial for 20 seconds
Demogorgon
Summon the Pack
Once per game, Demogorgon howls and calls demodogs to assist him from The Upside Down. 1 demodog emerges from a random existing portal every 15 seconds and will rapidly hunt down survivors, latching onto them, applying Deep Wound and revealing their location with Killer Instinct, then dying.
Summon the Pack ends when survivors successfully close 3 of your portals.
While Summon the Pack is active, the auras of your portals is revealed to all survivors.

to help work around language issues.
Wouldn't be a problem with a comms wheel due to game localization. I'm thinking simple text pop-ups next to player names/icons, similar to Identity V.
And I dunno about messing around with SWF and solo MMR. I don't think that's really a deciding factor when it comes to skill, just efficiency. So I'd rather just focus on improving solo efficiency (and then working on overall game balance from there) than working with the assumption that every SWF is a good team that should go up against regression using Z-flicking Blights, and that every solo team is a bunch of potatoes that should go up against Clowns that don't know the difference between a slow bottle and a speed bottle. You shouldn't be artificially punished for playing with friends, and you shouldn't be artificially handheld for playing solo.
It's something most other games to, to ensure fairer matches. I think it would work well in the context of DbD.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Need to buff solos before anything. Some kind of communication wheel/ping system would go a long way. Just simple things like being able to tell your teammates what you're going to be doing when someone's on the hook, you know?
Here I'll totally agree. A more robust gesture system even, as suggested by others, to help work around language issues.
I've also suggested some sort of artificial MMR inflation for SWF groups, say a temporary 1.1x multiplier for playing in a 2man, a 1.3 for a 3man and a 1.6 for a 4man. It would mean that these groups at least get a stronger killer to offset the benefits of increased coordination and information sharing. This also frees up lower MMR killers for solo groups.

I kind of feel the same there. If I'm getting heavily beaten in a match I would much rather it was over quickly and go on to the next match.
I tend to enjoy quick matches though, the more fast paced the better for me, I don't enjoy slow matches - I also really don't enjoy matches where survivors are just hiding all the time, they draw out the match so much and I love the chases too much when playing as either role.
As with everything, context is king.
If it's a brutal war of attrition, it can certainly be fun. I know that sometimes I'll give survivors a chance if they get an early DC - but I'm told 'just end next time' as often as I'm thanked.
I think the only time it's really frustrating is on maps like Badham or Haddonfield where you just end up going where survivors aren't and they are using PTS+BNP and you see 3 gens pop before you even get a chase. Now that can be irritating, especially when I've splurged for streamers and some fancy addons.

@Kebek said:
I don't even care, give each survivor 6 hook stages, make all gens take twice as long, put pallet into every single tile you can, make exist gates opening takes 2 minutes, anything.
This isn't serious post obviously but honestly, who likes short games.
I'm sooooo bored of short games (less then 8 min) for any reason on any side, be it survivor or killer.
Eh.
It depends.
Sometimes, if I'm up against a particularly stompy group, I'll be happy to have a short game and to just move onto the next one.

Thanks. I will say that this game is in a much better state than it was a year ago - hell, I'm even seeing a lot better match quality thanks to MMR as killer (I agree that it should be more nuanced for survivors).
Looking forward to it, and keep up the good work.

It does not take as long as you think. I've seen people achieve it in just a couple of days.
Tgis MMR system is worse at rating skill than the Emblem system. It takes nothing you do in a match into consideration. It only measures kills and escapes.
A couple of days is a lot more of a commitment than an hour or two.
The Emblem system might be okay for survivors, but I'm...okay with kills determining MMR as a killer.

I don’t want this game to end- I want you all to step up and do better. But you won’t unless given no alternative. Now, it seems, there are alternatives. Get your sht together BHVR, or lose your fan base. Hate and flame me all you want, but mark my words: it’s sink or swim now.

I will clear something up here....the area on the Dead Dawg Saloon that's been discussed in this thread, is not bannable, or reportable so please do not waste supports time in this. The killer can also reach the survivors in this area.
With exploits, we do list on the report page (as linked previously) which ones we ban for.
And yes, people are banned for various cheats/hacks etc - it's just that as we don't allow threads here of that nature, you don't see the complaints and we delete the ones that are here for various reasons. Steam also, we also close threads on this subject.
And whilst you might have heard some streamers say "bhvr doesn't ban cheaters" I'll respectfully remind you, that these people do not know our processes and does not know our team of ACM's who do these bans. It's just a rhetoric that gets thrown around.
EAC gets updated to block cheats, people find a way to get around this, then the updates happen again - it's sadly a vicious circle.
Sure, but Mandy - this area is very tricky to reach for certain killers and extremely easy for survivors. It's just a...pain.

Once a match your Killer gets to utilize a really crazy power to shake the game up or as a last ditch effort to seize control of the trial.
For Pyramid Head, I'd give him an Otherworld Transition. Just like the Silent Hill games, sirens blare as the world transitions from one of Fog to a dark world with pitch black skies, rust and rain. The torment and guilt of the Survivors has temporarily smothered the trial. While in the Otherworld, the aura of Survivors are revealed, Survivors suffer from Blindness and Oblivious effects, and all action speeds are reduced.
For Nemesis...the rocket launcher. Obviously. 4 rockets - one for each Survivor.
What super power would you give your Killer?
Hag:
Sorrows of the Endless Mire
Once per game, you may activate all your remaining traps simultaneously, summoning a mud phantasm at their location. These phantasms will run at 115% speed towards the nearest survivor or generator and attack. If they hit a generator first, they strike it, causing 5% regression. If they hit a survivor, they are placed into the injured state and suffer the Broken status effect for 20 seconds. Mud phantasms last for 15 seconds or until they attack once.

First blink - aim for their current position. Second blink is to readjust. Don't try to get fancy and lead them.
Savvy survivors will usually juke at 90 or 180 degrees, it's a bit of a guessing game.

Every time I've tried, everyone has escaped and at least once it's been "where the hell am I again".
I can't think of a single map design so innately antithetical to just enjoying the game. Even other bad maps don't punish you for not knowing them by basically barring you from playing on it.
"I hear something, where is that? oh, walls for days."
The walls I'm used to.
The hook spawns though can be...sadistic. It's difficult to navigate while trying to transport an uncooperative Bill.
A few tricks I've found: surrender the side of the map that doesn't have the office - the loops that can happen here are just awful. The Library is another place with obnoxious potential loops.
Its extremely killer-dependent map.

Even at my MMR, it's more common to see a coordinated group just hide and wait it out, tiny maps excepted.
If I want early pressure now, I'm tending to run Lethal Pursuer.
@Myla said:
Only perk that would help you to delay is Dead lock and Corrupt so you have to least one of those two in your inventory. There's really no perks to help you do well against SWF. Ruin? Gone in seconds. Pop? Can't use it if each chase takes more than a minute and you can't physically reach a generator before it pops. You have to rely on your experience as a Killer more than anything. Play as brutal as you can, make them work hard for it. Don't let them do stupid saves or do a full reset under the hook. Punish them for it, Find the weak link in the team. Slug them tactically where you know it'll buy you the most time. Even proxy camp when you know you're in a good position like a corner hook with three gen on your side of the map. Stack as much pressure as you can so anyone holding M1 has to leave and try to help
Actually maybe infectious fright would help you in this case if you're confident you can snowball fast enough with say Nurse, Oni, Blight and Spirit.
I used to run Deadlock a lot, but I noticed that what happens is that it delays gens early, but results in a cascade of gens popping together later.
