I’m definitely gonna start play hinder merchant more, and nothing but misery has become a favorite for me on m1 killers like houndmaster.

Nothing but misery works great with save the best for last and rapid brutality (save the best for last got buffed this update, probably my favourite thing about this update as well as vigil nerf)

  • I am going to start playing Freddy now, knowing that my M2 is not useless (tho vigil hasn't got nerfed yet where it only removes 30% and makes it only affect exhaustion, it will be in a hotfix later)

Except killer isn't miserable in 2v8 and is actually a lot of fun. My killer stats from the most recent iteration.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6TB5SVHOXKB7/7b7603709e-12eb-48d8-a258-f61e1ef02b09-7d.png

60% KR is the intended 1v4 balance and that is what I am sitting at in this supposedly insanely survivor sided mode. Somehow I doubt you have ever stopped to consider that its a skill issue on your part and not the mode.

Because there's no MMR so bad players can play with good players and killer mains using the play while you wait feature so bad survivors, that's basically the reason you have 60% kill rate. There's so many buffs to survivors and most killer buffs barely do anything. Like it's more of a skill issue from survivors.

I agree that it's a lot fun for killer side but it is survivor sided and it's a fact, I am doing fine because of the reasons I mentioned in previous paragraph.

Think again about what?, when the tonics got added which remove hook stages and heal for free the queue times for killer remained 30 minutes, when they added the new class with flashlights (very annoying mechanic for the killer side, so they obviously ignoring the killer side) which is fun for survivors the queue times remained 30 minutes, they keep buffing the survivor side in hopes that it becomes fun so the queue times get fixed but it's not working and just makes more annoying for killer side.

I love the trolling from the Killer POV because its so extremely easy to point out how recovering from status effects 40% faster is not at all equivalent to dealing negative status effects out and then being able to make them last 40% longer.

It's just acting like the killer and survivor are supposed to be on equal ground in an asymm game… since the plague exists and causes survivors to be devoid of altruism perks all game then survivors should get the ability to make the killer unable to take away both health states all game… that's how blatantly ridiculous it sounds.

recovering from status effects 40% faster is not at all equivalent to dealing negative status effects out and then being able to make them last 40% longer.

Tell me how how is it not the exact same thing, killers do complain about vigil a lot but hypothetically if killers had a perk like this without vigil existing then survivors would complain about it too.

  • Did you even read it?, the buffs just don't make any difference but make it more survivor sided and more miserable for killers.

  • There are new achievements on steam but on playstation they have reached the trophy limit so there won't be anymore new trophies.

good. Ideally they just remove the way it interacts with Hindered.

    Check the edit there, mb

  • Guess what, they reverted the perk to 40% and so it affects everything

Edit: the nerf where it be 30% and affects only exhastion will be in some hot fix, mb

What platform are you guys on? On PS5 I'm not seeing any new trophies related to the chapter

Pc, on steam there's new achievements, bhvr reached a limit for ps5 trophies so there won't be any new trophies

  • I don't even care that survivors got buffed again in this mode, but xeno buffs are not helpful in any way and he will be M1 killer for majority of the time, he needed the add-ons that decrease the range of the turrets and that makes it harder for him to get out of power, he got non of that, like there's more gens so that means there's more stations and that means there's more turrets and 8 survivors to set those turrets, like the second killer will the only thing that will break the turrets (and that's assuming bhvr allowed for other killers to break the turrets).

Nemesis exists with stronger M2, more map pressure as there's 4 zombies and he can't lose his M2 for some time, the mobility xenomorph has is not comparable to 4 buffed zombies.

  • @KingOfDoom55 said:

Agreed, that's why I think a hivemind/facehugger/drone ability would actually make sense for why the turrets would be oppressive if they were to keep them this way, but if not, I don't see why the turrets should remain the way they are now

    Edit:

    @SpyUA

His buffs in 2v8 are genuinely so disappointing, there's no reason to play him when nemesis exists with a stronger M2, map pressure from 4 zombies and it's easy to get xeno out of power but there's no buff that makes the turrets less efficient, like he needs some basekit add-ons for this mode, also there's more gens so there's more stations so there's more turrets and 8 survivors to put them.

In public matches, see the Obsession's Aura for a total of 300 seconds

That's a killer achievement, to get it use perks like nemesis, the new judgement obsession perk, friends till the end and lethal pursuer.

  • What's the achievement description?

IDK, I get destroyed by him a lot but that's hard to really be angry at… its hard to argue that he's too strong or unfair when his primary damage is a skillshot that's pretty easy to miss

I would say he is quite balanced killer, like wraith

  • At least you get the perks, they are bad but the obsession one is good with save the best for last

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

my response is almost certainly biased but i hope it helps exe achieve a score of more than 1.5

Personally I love executioner and I don't see why survivors would hate him, I voted a high score for him, I often forget he exists tho.

  • It didn't get nerfed, people don't use because it's boring doing gens all the time and they need exhastion perks to loop the killer, they can still use DS with this combo but people do also use windows of opportunity or resilience and that's 3 perk slots occupied (exhaustion, ds and windows) but it's still disgustingly overpowered especially in swf with 4 toolboxes with brand new parts.

  • There would need to be some buff for killers if tunneling is removed like pop goes the weasel base kit possibly or something else, like I don't mind if tunneling becomes inefficient but it's literally the best killer strategy and nerfing it nerfes weak killers that need it the most, so they would need some buff the most and not just bloodlust (I think this is the only reason that anti-tunneling change failed as it gave killers nothing).

  • Bhvr said that elusive will be added for now just to see how well it helps against tunneling and if it works well then they will probably consider those perks after that.

  • I think the Xenomorphs current power is just disappointing, I would want a rework for a more unique power.

  • Atm there's not much (only the chapter chorus of sins, where sprint burst and nowhere to hide got nerfed), cheaters remained the same, idk if you are talking about the new Freddy being ditch, twins are the same, Myers got a rework and got removed from the game if you didn't know.

Next month there's going to be 2v8, likely with Xenomorph being a new killer.

In November art the clown will be a new killer, there's going to be a graphical update next year which make stuff like rain happen during the trial, 1v1 game mode and infection game mode will be also released next year.

That's a false equivalence. A flashlight rescue requires precise timing to blind and stun The Killer. The brief stun is what results in the Survivor being dropped. Screaming Perks and Add-ons provide location info and usually aura reading across the map. It doesn't necessarily make sense for tracking to automatically double as an action interrupt that knocks Survivors off whatever they're doing, in some cases across the map and repeatedly.

I understand the pallet stun, it's a stun, but a flashlight save is a blind, you don't get stunned if you were blinded while breaking a pallet, also the timing is very easy to do with flashlights. Blinding the killer is supposed to make that player not see anything for a few seconds so the survivor can hide in that time, not stun the killer. It doesn't necessarily make sense for distraction to automatically double as a stun, that can make killers drop the survivor, something like this shouldn't make the killer stop holding the survivor and it doesn't make sense that a killer with literal sunglasses gets blinded (wesker) or killers with no eyes (Demogorgon or Xenomorph). Tell me why at least one reason a killer like trapper (he is quite strong) can't continue holding the survivor when blinded?

There's basically nothing that makes in this game, I guess screaming is an issue but it's just because of hex face the darkness imo (the only screaming thing that needs to get nerfed) and it's supposed to give the killer info but as well let the survivor know that the killer got info on them (killers that have screaming basekit in the power are weak like doctor), also the hands into the air is basically like an accessibility feature for people who are deaf and seeing the hands is more clear than just survivor moving their head.

  • Unhooking instantly is the only reason hard tunneling at 5 gens is possible, there's plenty of time, 70 second person hook stage (so it's best to unhoook after at least 30-50 seconds) and the chase time at least of 30 seconds (with endurance it's should last 30 seconds by just holding W, this is thinking of low A tier killers and B tier killers and even with strong A tier the survivor should be able to last at least 20 seconds) twice as there's 2 hook stages, at least 2 gens should be done by that time and it's without considering anti-tunnel perks.

  • @Nicholas said:

Why must survivors let go of what they're doing to throw their hands in the air upon screaming? It's unnecessary and disruptive.

Why must the killer drop the survivor when they are blinded while they have already picked up the survivor? It's unnecessary and disruptive.

Nobody knows how to play against Hag anymore so most of my matches are free wins.

Hag is considered D tier, not C

  • There is counter victor, you dodge him then you kick him, it's that simple

  • wait how would killers abuse this?, like personally I never dc and I hate when survivors dc, I have matches where survivors dc instantly because I was playing Henry (The First).

And wdym by dc priority queue?

  • Bhvr literally said they are going to rework TOTH

  • I think there's more cheaters because there's more players in general in dbd, like dbd reached all time peak with the Jason chapter so more players = more cheaters as some players just don't want to learn the game and decide to cheat.

  • My main is Henry (The first) but I also play some other killers a lot as well evenly spread, specifically unknown, nemesis and deathslinger, so my tiers are A and B.

Any reason why you are doing this poll? Just wondering, if you want to see how many players play different tiers.

Nah we play on xbox and anon mode isn't available on there. And yeah guess we could get them to play on their own but it wouldn't be that much fun. Honestly a brand new survivor player isn't going to notice the difference between a 40 hour killer and and 10,000 hour twitch streamer super sweat killer.

Maybe try playing custom matches to teach him how to play with your current swf and your another friend as killer who will support the beginner basically.

Bhvr does need to add an actual tutorial to the game, ig I do agree that survivor is harder to start as.

  • Is his profile anon? So killers can't identify the weak link instantly because of your mmr when you play together he gets hard opponents that are fine for you, maybe try to have him play by himself and in a VC guide him, also get him windows of opportunity and make him not use it at some point.

Also he should try to play some killer to become better at survivors so he understands the objective and what killers often do and maybe this would make him think what the killer would do when he plays survivor.

  • @Piruluk said:

I think most new players only killer players nowadays, survivor too high learning curve, and only gains power in SWF after thousands of hours and need perfect coordination.

Lots of new players play killer because either they want to play someone like Jason or they don't have friends to play with, the "too high learning curve" has nothing to do with this, killers do require probably as much and on some killers even more skill then on survivor side so there's a lot to learn on both sides.

  • I don't want to accuse you of anything but maybe it's not always steam sniping when you think it is, like killers tunnel in general and maybe it's not always because you are a streamer.

Also pressing W+S is just not sexual assault, it's not that deep, it's literally just a killer version of t-bagging with a the only purpose to annoy the other person (t-bagging is also done to annoy the other person, there's no difference, one is not worse than the other).

  • I am confused, your issue is about bad teammates, am I correct?

When the chorus of sins comes out, there will be a new mmr system and a mmr reset so doing things inside the match will give mmr and just escaping will reward less mmr if you don't interact much with the game so in high mmr you should have decent teammates that won't do that and that survivor that did nothing will be punished for playing like that so they are going to be in low mmr and you can report survivors that do nothing and sandbag.

  • My guess is it's probably in the mid chapter after or before the terriefier chapter.

  • Personally I think there should be some new system when 2 survivors are left and this should replace hatch which is quite rng based mechanic.

  • Trapper is a weak killer but you can still play him well, if you watch quitekillz play trapper he makes him look A tier but that's because he is a really good player and I recommend for you to learn from him and you should learn the good trap placements if you really like and want to play this killer.

He is quite weak and does need buffs, probably making a few of his add-ons base kit (making his iri base kit that resets traps is the most needed one probably), but he should remain an easy killer to play for new players with no confusing mechanics and he should have the base/normal stats basically like being 4.6 is the base speed for killer so I disagree with making him quicker, use perks for that, trapper is basically the first and most basic killer so he can be a bit underpowered but he is currently very weak.

  • @shunzetsu said:

Kicking a generator knowing that survivors are around is and will always NOT be a good decision, unless they have this… lazy ahh perk. You will not find a good player doing this kind of thing. I don't really have a issue with another aura reading perk. BBQ is fine, the one from Krasue aswell. Eruption and Retribution also. Its just this one because killers get the reward of this perk wayy too often and way too easy.

Even after it gets slightly nerfed, I still think its gonna be really unhealthy, especially on indoor maps.

You need to quote that person to reply basically btw

    @NeverSolus said:

This is already being adjusted to stick to the generator rather than follow the killer.

Also the 'worse decision ever' being kicking a generator, I assume, is a rather strange thing to say. Do you feel this problem with all aura perks?

But anyway, I think nowhere to hide should give some indication that the killers knows their location and that's it, like I can name a lot of survivor perks that are "extremely unhealthy and it rewards a really lazy player that doesn't want to learn the game" like windows of opportunity and don't tell me it's a perk to learn the loops cuz nowhere to hide is one as well then.

It is getting nerfed a lot specifically for mobility killers which are the strongest basically and stays fairly healthy for weaker killer.

  • 1000132985.png

That's what they said, "it can yet be changed after release", I feel like they are going to change in the patch where they are changing 45 perks or the one after.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

I feel the game is heading for its "just getting started with the good stuff" stage seeing the graphics rework and code rewrite etc.

Golden age for me would be either after a castlevania chapter 2 with Shanoa or she ends up a legendary atleast lol.

But yea next year is going to be the most different dbd has ever been, where all the things we are hoping they'll do, are actually happening.

Fnaf chapter 2 would be golden age as well and the ability of the second animatronic killer would be much better.

  • I don't want 2v8, it's only fun with new content (there's was non this iteration) and the queue times are really bad when this game mode is in the game, 15 minutes in 1v4 and 30 minutes in 2v8, I rather to keep the 5 minutes queue times currently.

  • @Elan said:

Even as killer main I was never fan of this perk as it completely negates any chances of hiding near almost complete gens. It reminds me of old Ultimate Weapon where no matter what you tried to do, you got revealed. I tried to negate this perk with blast mine + residual manifest but since turn back the clock is so popular this combo isn't very viable either way. It's very good perk and I understand why nowhere to hide is so popular. But it will always being good on medium killers while insane on top tiers. I haven't seen a single Nurse to not run this perk and we all know she utilize this perk the most as well as she will with shorter basekit borrowed time and nerfed sprint burst. I'm happy it's getting nerfed, but I'm not happy Nurse is getting side buffs quite often.

They literally nerfed the reason why it was so good on strong killers like nurse as it followed the killer.

negates any chances of hiding near almost complete gens

That's the point of the perk and it's literally in the name "Nowhere to hide", you can counter it by going inside a locker, also there are perks that hide your aura.

It's certainly a strong perk but not insane especially after this nerf, if turn back the clock is used so much then the killer is not using nowhere to hide, the only change I wouldn't mind is making so the survivor screams.

The base kit borrowed time is actually getting buffed with elusive and sprintburst was a meta perk for 10 years and was quite brain-dead to use, it's still not dead and you can use lithe instead.

Cool, and that means you can never progress on anything ever because ruin + this means that you are constantly loosing 5% gen progress every time they attack whether they were aiming at you or not and totem progress is constantly reset. Wow such a fun and interactive game. Constantly loosing because you literally can't win.

If the killer tries to hit the people on gens then they are not using to chase people and get downs, judgement can only pressure one gen with a cooldown of 12? seconds (it's somewhere around that), the repairing is 1 charge per second so the 5-8% you lose each M2 you can repair back with more progress, like the judgement will use the M2 on different gens and the hexes so it's enough time to complete gens and cleanse the hex, so you can win.

If the judgement is not aiming at you then you can just continue doing the gen.

  • I totally agree with this

  • @tjt85 said:

In theory it might be better than what we have currently, but in practice it won't make any difference at all.

As I write, Killer queues in my region are 5+ minutes long while Survivor queues are 12 seconds or less. You cannot have a functioning match-making system with an imbalance like that. It just isn't possible.

The point of this MMR change was not make queue times better.

  • @Elan said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4110098#Comment_4110098

It's actually quite simple to balance. Remove exhaustion, exposed and hindrered from the perk and buff Ghost Notes. Done.

If bhvr removed those 3 things then nobody would use it and exhaustion is basically the most important one but making it 30% was too much imo. Ghost notes does need a buff and with diminishing returns it wouldn't be overpowered combined with vigil to make exhaustion shorter.

  • @tjt85 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4110085#Comment_4110085

It's all very well saying the game should be balanced, but who exactly are BHVR balancing for? I sure as hell don't feel like they are balancing for casual Survivor players like myself any more. Looking at my escape rates for Sprint Burst (34%) and Vigil (36%), from my point of view these perks are perfectly balanced as they are. They don't need a nerf. I'm not even hitting the intended target of a 40% escape rate with either of these perks. Even MFT only got me to a 38% escape rate (pre-nerf numbers, since I barely use this perk these days).

I do think the game has become a lot more enjoyable (or balanced, if you perfer) for casual Killer players in recent years. With respawning hooks, customisable scratch marks, individual hook counters, multiple Killer buffs and some strong, easy to learn Killers added to the game (among other improvements), Killer is easier and more enjoyable now than it was when I first started playing 3 years ago. But it increasingly feels like improving the Killer experience has come at the expense of making the game quite a lot worse for casual Survivors.

The most frustrating thing about this push to "balance" the game is the fact that the content creators pushing so hard for nerfs to perks like Vigil and Sprint Burst already achieve kill rates in excess of 75%. They're overperfoming even with the current strength of the Vigil/SB combo. I'm convinced that no absurdly high kill rate would satisfy these voices in the community. They'll keep on calling for Survivor nerfs and BHVR, it seems, will keep listening to them.

These days I only play Survivor in events because getting to play around with some overpowered mechanic is the only time I feel I can get one over on the Killer. I'll still die in the majority of my Trails, but at least I'll have a fun moment or two in the match and I won't feel like the completely powerless punching bag that I do in my regular 1V4 games.

achieve kill rates in excess of 75%.

Average kill rates are around 60% and often lower than 60%, my kill rates are around 60%.

They'll keep on calling for Survivor nerfs and BHVR, it seems, will keep listening to them.

What's different on survivor side?, survivor constantly ask for nerfs like killers do like blight got nerfed, clouraphobia got nerfed and nowhere to hide got nerfed.

Survivors got massive buffs like the pallet density update and bhvr still adds pallets each update, vigil is insanely unhealthy for the game and sprintburst was a meta perk for 10 years and insanely strong against 4.4 killers so they needed the nerfs, you can use lithe instead of sprintburst and I personally think as a killer main that lithe is a fine perk not needing to get nerfed. Vigil now only affects exhaustion by only 30% but bhvr said it's a "nightmare to balance" and they are planning to buff it later.

Hyperfocus + stakeout + de ja vu or resilience is insanely strong currently so try using those if it's so hard for you.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 8
