It's because the devs spent a whole year or more developing this power, to require skill to get rewarded. Instead of the max 0.3s you were rewarded with for becoming Zealous, now you get it completely for free, and the Zealous now is more than twice the duration at 0.8s. In addition it has been decoupled from the amount of time you are holding the power (less skill needed). Plus the killer instinct buffs. All in the space of a few weeks, among many other significant changes, not taking any formal feedback from the whole playerbase into account.
When the killer players themselves (finally) realise the killer is OP that says enough.
Killer instinct is a quality of life... Just so the killer can become better at using the power, not impacting the game in any way.
When the killer players themselves (finally) realise the killer is OP that says enough.
Op means S tier, nurse and blight are S tier but judgement is literally isn't, like judgement has 0 mobility and was bad at mid range and curves are the thing that lets hit survivors at that range and skill is involved.

I've given you guys the math on why it's uncounterable.
I'm not senselessly knee-jerkingly reacting, and curves are quite easy to achieve.
The math doesn't add up, I gave you the numbers. Your criticisms of my criticism also don't address my point that this fundamentally changes the identity of the Killer by removing the specialness of Zealousness's power up state.
The maximum duration of curve control is 0.8 seconds.
The beam becomes lethal after 1 second.
This means Survivors have 0.2s to react to wherever they think the Killer might flick the beam.
Against a Judgment that has any sense of aim and can flick at the last split second, how is it possible to react to that?
Survivors are not good at dodging the killer yet cuz she is a new killer and there was a MMR reset so you were likely queued against bad players as well and show your stats on judgement if you don't mind.
The math has nothing to do with this and it's fundamentally wrong, survivors have more than 0.2 to react as they can literally see where the killer is aiming and predicting the curve the killer will do is quite simple.
I'm not senselessly knee-jerkingly reacting, and curves are quite easy to achieve.
Curves are easy to achieve but actually hitting them is very hard, moving the mouse even a little bit will change the trajectory a lot that it will just not even be close to the survivor.
Against a Judgment that has any sense of aim and can flick at the last split second, how is it possible to react to that?
You predict the curve which should be simple as you can literally see where the killer is aiming. I main Henry which requires good prediction from both the killer and survivor, I have played against players who can dodge really well and players who are unable to dodge, it's skill and at some point players will get good at dodging.
-
I genuinely don't understand why people hate this buff so much, it's such a small buff and this buff needs a lot of skill to use, curves are really hard to do and they are needed at close range and don't do anything at long range.
As survivor you can see the where the killer is aiming and dodging that is not that hard and to counter the curve you predict where the killer will do the nerf and go in opposite direction basically, it's quite obvious where the killer will curve the divine light.
And the killer is not even S tier.
-
The reason why it got shortened to 10 seconds because it was abused, 15 seconds was way to safe and survivor were body blocking all the time and then they complain about tunneling when they are the ones to body block the unhooker and even with 10 seconds it's always possible to get to a material with endurance and haste so that's enough imo (not for basement but it's supposed to be the unsafe place for survivors and it's still possible to get the booked survivor out and it's possible to avoid the basement).

i think they are referencing that it doesnt work when carrying survivors which i had thought was already the case. Its nothing to complain about. you should almost never be be getting pallet stunned when carrying a survivor anyways.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Enduring perk to reduce the stun duration when a survivor is carried.
it wasnt nerfed it was fixed, so my memrory was right it was not supposed to affect pallet stuns when carrying
I don't even think it's that big of a "nerf", I barely get stunned while carrying a survivor anyway.

Uh something on topic i guess…
Nice idea, lore wise this would have made sense for Legion as well. And i guess Ghost Face, though not really with DbD GF lore
Not sure if implementation to avoid same skins would be possible though (eg two Chuckys instead of Chucky and Tiffany
Legion is gone from 2v8...

Skull merchant is not the most popular killer so I don't really think she would be added (I don't hate her but some survivors do and not many players play her).
I would rather see unknown and I am genuinely curious why he wasn't added yet, he is such a perfect killer.

Its not skill of both players if the survivor makes the correct move and the killer says "lol curve nyoom". Powers that are dependent on both players to predict each other shouldn't be buffed to where the killer gets to just react to whatever the survivor does and get a hit anyway. Particularly when these types of powers ignore every map resource/obstacle.
Survivors don't really need to predict as they can literally see where the killer is aiming and to do the curve as judgement is really hard, I have missed the divine light more times because of the curve then I hit with the curve. This is a skill based buff.
And these types of powers need most skill to use and have most counterplay.

Bro I do hope that they will not overnerf her like Krasue. She was overbuffed on release and then they did too much with the nerfs.
This is literally probably her last buff, also Henry, springtrap and Jason didn't get buffed much.
And I don't even think it's that strong, curves require a lot of skill and this lets people to be skillful and makes the power better at close range and still survivors can literally see where the killer is aiming so survivors can still dodge it, Henry is more 50/50 than her, she depends on skill of both players.

So we're ignoring the stuff that gets nerfed on killer side, nowhere to hide got nerfed (don't say me it's a bad nerf, it literally makes it worse for strongest killers which used it best), coulrophobia as well and also thrill of the hunt which got a temporary nerfs and will get reworked soon. Also blight got nerfed and the best add-on on nurse as well.

It’s foolish to justify nerfing perks when highly mobile killers exist, nerfing perks just because of Trapper is dumb and unprofessional by devs. Don't forget that all killers have already received significant buffs and and they all have anti-loop powers so nerfing Sprint, Vigil, Deli and Endurance isn't justified!
All killers getting buffed significantly?, how did hag got buffed or ghostface or pig (ghostface did get buffed but a 3 second shorter cool down is not a "significant buff"), those are some of weakest killers in the game that need actual buffs, I can name more than 75% of the killers that didn't get buffed.
they all have anti-loop powers
That's what a power supposed to do and you can counter all of them.
Sprint burst was meta for 10 years and was most brain-dead exhaustion perk (press 2 buttons and you got away) and it's still usable, use lithe instead which will not get nerfed. What you can do as well instead of waiting until the killer is close to you to get away for free by pressing 2 buttons, is run earlier.
Vigil was just broken, it was only used to reduce the exhaustion so it's justified making it only affect exhaustion (the number is too low and bhvr realises that so it should get buffed later, imo it should get another decent effect related to exhaustion). This nerf is most justified.
Deli did need a nerf but it was a wrong nerf imo, it should just deactivate after gens are completed and that's it.
Endurance got nerfed because it was abused by survivors so it's survivors fault it got nerfed, there's elusive now instead (which is very underrated by many).

That's the game mode, 2 killers and 8 survivors, "endless zombies" are still a dumb ai which can be countered and there's only 4 and requires a specific killer to be played.

I don't like this at all as it'd basically be punishing survivors for just doing what they're supposed to do.
I think as a whole we need to stop adding perks that punish either side for doing their objective. Kinda like how Fast Track punished killers too much for hooking, this would be exactly the same thing
I think with this change it would only punish gen rushing builds with hyper focus + stakeout and also making this perk worth to run (there's so many better slowdown perks), people rarely hit great skill checks and most of the time it was just luck, even comp players don't always hit great skill checks.
-
It's a fine idea.
You could also decrease the amount of tokens gained per skill check from 3 to 2, since greats are far more common than misses.
Keeping it at 3 is good enough, great skill checks are still very rare.
-
There are good things about this but at the same time there's issues like if there's 2 nemesis or weaker, survivors will get infected even more (and 8 zombies on the map but that's can be limited to 4 ig) and they will run out of the thing that removes the t-virus.
There's probably more examples like this.

Devs put a cooldown of 20 sec. on it… then next they remove it again… if I recall it correctly.
I only know that windows of opportunity was buffed in the past, the cool down was removed so it constantly shows aura of the pallets/windows, it was never nerfed.

The killer as of 2026 has the potential for a 6 aura build. Anything that can be stacked should count. Not just the things that affect survivors can put in their builds.
You cannot be seriously be complaining about info perks, they don't affect the match in a meaningful way like if you're decent at the game you can predict and know mentally roughly where survivors are.
Even on judgement people can play without aura perks and still constantly hit the snipes, ruin + undying are much stronger than just getting aura on judgement, any slowdown is better.

First, there are not only 2 S tier killers I believe you have some misunderstanding to what S tier means. Second, blight and nurse are no where near hard to play and no where near not many people play them, period.
There's literally only 2 S tier killers, look at any tier list and only blight + nurse is S tier (very rarely hillbilly as well, sometimes blight is in A tier because of the nerf), S tier means killers that are considered to be in S tier in a tier list. Ig anything that's stronger than balanced is S tier for you.
Nurse and blight are considered hard, playing on skill floor is different from actually being good at those killers and they're S tier only if the person is good at them, the skill gap is enormous between a skillful player and someone who can play them, there are killers much more popular killers than them.

Pretty high. M1-Killer is honestly only a buzzword, they throw it in to demand Nerfs, but nobody will suddenly start playing Bubba again if they have access to Blight, Ghoul, Jason, Dracula, Nurse, etc… There are so many strong Killers in the game and some of them even very simple to play, there is no need to play any M1-Killer, unless you really like the gameplay.
People play the killers they like, it's not always about strength and I don't think the percentage is that high, it was genuinely so unfair playing a killer with no mobility or a 4.4 killer and have a survivor get away for holding 2 buttons with no brain needed.
even very simple to play
Doesn't matter that it's simple to play them, there's still things to get better on them and all killers have counter, if the person is bad at the game and plays a low skill killer then it's still easy to win against them.
you really like the gameplay
Or they like the licence.

While the OP's mentality is very survivor sided and I don't think reflects an accurate view of the game (perhaps also due to frustration), but if you somehow think this and that killer is somehow more miserable than survivor, you need to play more survivor.
First of all, you can't just say "perk nerfs don't count." Perk nerfs are wayyy more impactful to survivors than killers, as a lot of perks not only due not universally work to the same degree on every killer, but the killer will always be left with it's actual core power. Perks are the main powers of survivors, items are usually consumed pretty quickly and some people don't even bring them. You also can't just say Vigil doesn't count "cuz it was insane," because yeah, sometimes that's why things get nerfed. Because they're overtuned. But keyword, it's still a nerf. In addition, BHVR hasn't confirmed they will buff it later, they have said "we will be keeping an eye on it" which is BHVR terms for "idk we might change it we might not, stop complaining we've got other things to do."
In this last update, we received 4 huge nerfs to the survivor side. Vigil obviously got completely gutted, Sprint Burst's power got reduced by a whopping third (not including that it's indirectly nerfed by the Vigil nerf), and Deliverance, while the least meaningful of the three, got nerfed quite a bit as well. In addition to that, unhook protections got nerfed to 10s with the addition of elusive that does nothing to an actual tunneling killer. Yes it used to be 10s almost a year ago, but it is a huge nerf nonetheless, and if you played survivor you would actively feel the rampant amount of tunneling. It was already bad before, now it has somehow gotten worse. And how are you even arguing that base kit BT was another buff to survivors when it was over 4 years ago? I'm assuming you didn't play back then, because holy it was a needed change.
With pallet density, yes it has gotten on my nerves multiple times that "you still aren't out of pallets???" when I've shredded through 10 pallets already, however in my experience most of the pallets are much weaker and more outplayable than the few pallets on each map as of a couple years ago. It wasn't a survivor buff, it was a side grade that benefited some killers that are good at making resources unsafe and playing around them while hurting some killers like Demo and Bubba, and BHVR has still not adequately buffed them to compensate for this so that they can keep up with the pack.
Lastly, for most of my 2000+ hours on this game I have been a survivor main. And yet, last patch and especially this patch I have essentially become a killer main. I didn't even use Sprint Burst or Vigil, in fact I prefer not using any exhaustion perks because I think they are a crutch and playing without them makes me improve more and it feels more rewarding. But especially as someone who spends most of his time solo queueing, as most of the playerbase does, this game has just gotten genuinely miserable for survivors not in a competent SWF. There was already rampant tunneling last update, but now it's gotten even worse, and they even added a killer that ignores anti-tunnel perks entirely. It gets so frustrating and exhausting and makes you want to quit altogether. Even when I play with friends, I am by far the most experienced so I have to run a full anti-tunnel build for my friends just to try to keep them alive because the killer will almost always try to immediately tunnel out the weak link, and that's exhausting as well. I don't want to play babysitter every time I play with friends.
I have been spending more and more and more time on killer and while there have definitely been frustrations, I live in bliss compared to when I play survivor. This isn't even a question of balance, but rather the experience. At a high level, the game will almost always favor a coordinated SWF. But because that is the minority of the playerbase, even on my second main, Ghost Face, I am able to win the vast majority of my games. Even on Ghost Face, one of the worst killers in the game, my experience is infinitely better than on survivor. There is a reason that nowadays there is almost always a BP multiplier and a 10s queue for survivor and a 5m queue for killer. If you genuinely think killer is way more miserable than survivor, I genuinely think you have not played enough survivor.
Both roles are quite miserable rn and I don't think one is worse than the other.
killer is somehow more miserable than survivor
As I said, both are bad, but I definitely don't think survivor is worse than killer. There's a thing a lot of killer mains feel which is killer anxiety, I felt it myself too at one point.
Yes it used to be 10s almost a year ago
Considering how long it takes for an update to come out, this is quite a recent change and it was reverted because survivors were abusing it, I agree there needs to be more to prevent tunneling but you are underestimating the impact the elusive has and with a strong anti-tunneling system killers would need something as well to compensate, tunneling at 1 or 2 gens is quite essential most of the time.
It wasn't a survivor buff
Pallet density was definitely a massive survivor buff, you can still loop the weak ones and just pre-dropping the weak ones is quite strong wasting so much time, like the strong pallets still remained and there's even more.
almost always a BP multiplier
That's because the game needs 4 survivors for 1 killer and for all of the time I have played dbd, the game had only a bp multiplier for survivors (sometimes rarely on killer), I don't think it has much to do with the annoying parts of the role are.
-
I mostly use only 1 meta perk (sometimes 2) like if I am playing M1 killer then I will use surge and then other 3 mediocre perks.
I use a meta perk just to have some slowdown and have time to use the other 3 perks that are just for fun.
-
Shoulder the burden, I would always rather see ds + dead hard instead of it. It's always demoralising seeing that a death hook survivor which is needed for pressure at 1 or 2 gens needs to be tunneled out gets to one hook after a really stressful match when you have only a few hooks (this happens when I get queued against much better players and when playing weak killer).
As survivor I would say it's hex third seal.
-
@Arcturus said:
Even though I think every single one of these needs to be addressed (and have needed to be for a long time), I think the number 1 has to be the tutorials. New players are completely lost as it is, the tutorial only teaches you about the absolute bare bones of the game, and even then it doesn't do a good job. Even if survivors know they can unhook a teammate, they have no idea when they should. Players aren't even properly taught about perks, and are expected to either read about every status effect or just figure it out in-game. The anti-camp feature isn't mentioned at all either.
If we want new players to stay, we need it to be possible for them to learn the basics of the game without being expected to find everything on YouTube.
For tutorials there's that new feature that shows what each power does so that's at least something and also a tip how to counter it/use it.
-
every new update survivors get NERFED
Name me a direct nerf to survivors (perk nerfs don't count, vigil got gutted cuz it was insane and it was only used to activate exhaustion perks quicker and other effects were just a powerful side effect, bhvr does realise it's bad now and will buff it later), I can name a buff each update to survivors, so pallet density update which made every map have 20 pallets and every update after that new pallets were added after the pallet density update, base kit bt (which was another buff to survivors) became 15 seconds and recently this got reverted (because this got abused with constant body blocking) to 10 seconds with elusive, it's a buff overall and elusive is decent.
If you think survivor role is miserable then play killer and tell me how miserable will that be.

Reason why I don't think they will ever add a spider killer that looks way too much like real spider if any that type at all.
If bhvr cared about things like this they would probably already fix plague like with a accessibility feature. They're will probably at some point in future add a spider killer.
-
Because we have judgement in the game doesn't mean we can't get a spider killer.
-
Dead hard is already great, one of the meta perks/most used perks in the game.
And against some killers it's so easy to use and it would be unfair to them.
Make dead hard ONLY usable with no mither
I don't think bhvr should have perks that is forced to be used with another perk and dead hard was never an anti-slug perk, it's more of a anti-tunnel perk but still can be used at any time after a hook even if the killer didn't tunnel.
Also if you despise slugging so much then use anti-slugging perks like unbreakable.
-
chase power
He can't down you with his M2...
He requires a lot of skill to do cut offs and mobility is only thing that helps but you can still loop it.
strong teleporting, absurdly fast and accurate spear throws, and spears are way too easy to keep getting.
Teleporting is limited to pallet/window locations, you know when he is in omnipresent and you can avoid the material, crouching counters him completely as he can't see the survivor, survivor will not scream and Jason won't get killer instinct. What's "absurdly fast"?, his mobility in omnipresent mode?, that's what a mobility power should be and other killers don't say map wide that they using their power like tp or mobility.
"accurate spear throws" wdym by that?, his spears are hard to hit (they have a hitbox similar to deathslinger) and also the acr they're thrown at, also he is able to shoot through small cracks which is fun and takes a lot of skill.
To get the spear the Jason often needs to go out of the loop and during that the survivor can run away which will waste a lot of time, the spears will need time to appear again so for him to get another spear of he missed 2 shots in chase he will need to go quite far to get another spear and he only gets one spear so he needs to get another spear every time, Huntress has 7 hatchets and springtrap can recall the axe without wasting time (and he is 4.6 without the axe).

Pop is extremely powerful on killers with consistent mobility, this is why on slower killers you want to be running "Passive Slowdown" (Pain Res, TBTC, Surge) while more "Manual Slowdown" perks are better on mobility killers such as Nurse, Blight, Wesker, Wraith, ect. Being really good at using perks like Oppression, Pop, Lay Waste, while yes the passive slowdown perks are very powerful, I personally think that gen kicking perks are significantly better on mobile killers.
I will disagree with that on nurse it's better to use "manual slowdown" as she is the showest killer and it's better to use blinks to chase the survivor.
And also wraith has a good combo with turn back the clock when using the meme add-on.

Pop has a bigger value if 15% and it stacks with other gen kicking perks like eruption or nowhere to hide, also I think it lasts longer.
TBTC is great with remote slowdown (like pain res or DMS), but also can sometimes save the gen when survivors are doing it infront of the killer and it's fun to get some activations through cracks or a window or from a different floor.
Both are great and I don't think one is better than the other.

HOWEVER, I do think it would not hurt if the selected statues for rescue were random, and not necessarily the closest ones.I wouldn't mind if 2 furthest statues where needed to rescue like with pyramid head the cage is on opposite side of the map, it already gives enough value from the zealous and countering a lot of perks (but making some perks worse for the killer, so it goes both ways).

The OP isnt complaining about the use of aura reading perks. The OP is asking for tools to deal with it. Which is different from demanding a nerf or anything of the like
They are complaining about aura reading perks, the anti-aura perks is a "pretty simple solution" for them but there's issues with perks like this imo.
But I just have one question to people who say that aura reading perks is an issue, would they rather play against info perks so the killer only knows where they are sometimes (so judgement can know where to shoot and survivors still can dodge), full slowdown which makes the games last longer (judgement can still snipe the gens without aura perks because of the gen aura) and sometimes also situational info or hex perks which can be strong and are very annoying to deal with while can also be slowdown (and judgement protecting the hexes)?

Vigil was fine, other than the percent may have been to high, but now its complete trash with half the duration and exhaustion only. If you choose vigil now your a noob and wasting a perk slot.
You lost me on "vigil was fine", it's literally wasn't and a number too low make it trash and a number too high will make it busted, there's no balance possible for this perk.
Survivors use it to reduce just exhaustion (only sometimes to reduce broken or exposed with the ability of reducing exhaustion), so that's what bhvr has done, please tell me when would you want to use vigil with a mindset to reduce the duration of mangled or hindered.
It is bad now and bhvr realises that the number is too low but it doesn't mean it can't be buffed later if it's bad now and get another purpose that related to exhaustion.

There was a big update about diminishing returns but aura doesn't count…… BHVR knows but they cover their one side, ie dev got blinded = flashlights get immediate nerf. You are not wrong.
Diminishing returns works by reducing the 2nd, 3rd… effect on a survivor/killer/gens like stacking haste or vaulting speed or gen regression speed.
Aura reading doesn't stack like if you have 1 perk revealing the survivor and the second one then it will show aura for as long as the stronger perk works.
Why are we complaining about info perks that just give info and nothing else, would you rather a killer have full slowdown or just a lot of information and it's so easy to dodge against judgement anyway.

I really want shattered hope to be basekit, even with it survivors would be able to place a boon five times.
I know that boons are weak and with shattered hope they can be buffed (a lot), like taking maybe 5 seconds to put a boon and stronger numbers as well, like bigger range or reworks for some of them. Currently they are very annoying to face as killer as they can be placed multiple times and sometimes they are too strong because of random totem location and the killer would need to waste a lot of time to get it.

Just stay injured and don't use the pools, she is literally a M1 killer then, legion is stronger than her while he also makes everyone injured but he at least gains additional time because of mending and some mobility.
Her strong M2 is limited to one use if you don't use pools (more with add-ons and iri actually makes it shorter), she needs to go to a corner of the map (quite often, wasting 20 seconds) to activate it and wastes another 20 seconds going back and looking for survivors (losing pressure), she has 0 mobility to help her.
Also Infecting everything is not an issue if you just stay infected, you talked about everything infected like 3 times and you can avoid it/wait it out.
broken permanently is a pain and always a death sentence
Have you tried running away?, ghostface, Myers, bubba and hillbilly can insta down without needing wasting time to set up the infection (getting all 4 survivors infected wastes decent amount of time) and they get anti-loop as their M2 (ghostface excluded).

Both sides mate, not just survivor, both sides.
I know, Rokku_Rorru is talking only about one side so I am telling him about the other side.

You are asking to buff it?, as it's a very weak perk.
-
- The downside is Jason only gets 1 spear to shoot which also has a very small hitbox, huntress has 7 (with a much bigger hitbox) and springtrap as well has 1 but he becomes 4.6 and he can recall it without losing distance, Jason will need to waste time to gain another spear.
- His tp is limited to pallet/window locations and survivor can simply stay away from those and he will still need to chase after the tp, everyone knows when he is using the tp and able to counter it.
- Blocks the pallet/window only for 4 seconds to the one he teleports to, I don't think the survivor will exactly be using that pallet/window and instead will be running away and even if the survivor will use that pallet/window then it's definitely after 4 seconds. To counter the scream and the killer instinct you simply crouch...
- You forgot about the very simple counterplay against the tp (crouching), the amount of time Jason wastes to get the spear back and dodging the spear which has a very small hitbox.
he just has bunch of OP perks all put into one.
Name at least one perk he has base kit, op perks on killer are slowdown perks btw.
He is only low A tier, there's many killers stronger than him which deserve a nerf much more.
