SB has always been high-tier, ever since the early days of DBD. It is time for changes, that is for sure.
Then again SB in of itself isn't the worst offender, but when it is paired up with Vigil (in the current state of 66%), that is where the problems arise.
The question is then, what will ultimately replace SB as the top tier exhaustion perk? Lithe? Balanced Landing? Dead Hard? Overcome?Though, I do wish there were more significant changes to the killer meta as well. A lot of us are genuinely tired of seeing the quad slowdown builds, all the time. It really kills creativity on the killer side.
Personally I wanna do a unique build but diminishing returns ruined it, I don't feel like doing a haste build when majority of the value is gone, slowdown does actually get nerfed like pop got technically nerfed recently, pain res is not as strong as it once was and slow down is needed to keep up with the gen speed, if a slowdown nerf is needed then Hyperfocus and stakeout should also get nerfed, btw killer meta is getting nerfed with SB and vigil, the coulrophobia is in the slugging meta (which survivors complained about a lot) so it's getting nerfed and thrill is in the hex meta is getting nerfed (which survivors complained about as well) and nowhere to hide was kind of always meta.

Everytime you say something there is literally killers who do the equivalent, "Broken perks" what about a broken killer with broken perks? Hello?
This is again stinking of us vs them lolKillers just don't BM every match unlike survivors, you don't get broken killers every match (there's only like 7 of them) and you can learn the counterplay against them, broken killer perks require you to actually win like pain res you need to down the survivor (takes some time especially on weaker killers and survivors can gen during, normally by the end of the first chase a gen is completed even with no gen perks unless you are an A tier killer even) then pick them up while another survivor can still blind you or pallet safe (if they were under a pallet and you need to chase again wasting more time), after that you need to hope a scourge hook has spawned near and get to it and the lost progress can be done fairly quickly unless the killer uses DMS (bad perk by itself and can still be countered with pain res, just touching a gen with no progress, in SWF everyone will know killer has it) while the broken survivor perks are just a button press for losing like shoulder the burden or dh (requires some skill) or ds (less skill then dh), vigil literally gives value for existing to multiple survivors (even after nerf it will remain decent) and also Hyperfocus + stakeout also rewards existing.
-
- Rework Hyperfocus
- Buff range on Batteries included by 8 meters
- Buff haste on rapid brutality to 7.5%
- Buff all boons but make shattered hope base kit (genuinely useless perk and it's annoying that survivors get infinite boons while killer don't, buffing all boons will compensate for this base kit buff)
- Buff Hex: Scared to death and rampage, the hex is too weak for being a hex especially for requiring to killer not to tunnel and some pallets will be gone by the time it's activated, same thing with rampage by the time you get good value majority of pallets will be gone (make it you gain 2.6 stacks per pallet break so only 5 pallets need to be broken for max value) and it's hard to get stunned anyway, also it does not need a cool down.

Killer can abandon when all survivors are bots

LMAO Couldn't you also just watch YT or something and stop playing if bmed? It doesn't work like that does it, you are playing the game coz you want to play it.
If you're gonna dress BM as an us vs them issue, it's not gonna be empathised with, it happens to both sides whether you like it or not, maybe if you came at it with "Yeah it sucks when it happens to both sides" I'd deffo be more inclined to listen to you.If a survivor BM in the distance or while I am chasing i still need to play the game, how would I watch YT if I still need to chase the survivors and try to apply pressure, when you are slugged you don't need to do anything (crawl maybe to a pallet but after that you are idle) so as survivor when killer BM you, you can just watch YT with minimal attention to the game until you are hooked or picked up, like that's what I am trying to say.
It does happen to both sides and I understand that but the fact is that survivors do it every single time you lose as killer just to show how "good" they are while carried by a bunch of broken perks.

If anyone hops into locker in front of you… you can make the decision whether you ignore them ok will their ds and tunnel them as punishment. Fairs.
Ignore them when I don't have info on any other survivor and that's the only survivor I can chase and while looking for another survivor they heal and doing gens while I don't know their location when the ds runs out as they are gone so I can't tunnel them, if I wait out unless I have 2 survivors dead, 2 gens will be completed by the time I hook them and if I take the DS then I will waste lots of time chasing them causing a gen to complete with the amount of distance they get from ds. This a lose lose situation and even worse for plot twist, paring ds with unbreakable or conviction is not a problem.

I don't think hoping into locker with ds is an issue. It's to make decision - will I pull him out, eat ds and tunnel out or do I ignore him and go for someone else and then hop back on him? Also those scenarios where you don't have ds but bait killer into waiting it out is funny. Plot Twist, well you can pair it with unbreakable or conviction too, so it would require deactivation on any self-recover perk then, which is also not a solution. I as killer player want the hard tunnel to be less effective while making anti-tunnel tools non-weaponizable. It won't stop tunneling, which is fine but will make it harder.
This just tells me you haven't played against enough ds users with plot twist or those that go into a locker, this is rarely done just to bait the killer cuz it's a meta perk so majority of survivor players use it especially in high MMR and it's a free perk now after Halloween is gone, you are talking about anti tunneling being weaponized while ignoring one of the most popular ways it's weaponized even when the killer is not tunneling, tunneling is needed in the current state of the game in high MMR to win but making it harder while not buffing the killer role as compensation is not going to solve the problem like give something base kit for unique hooks but with no punishments like in that Krause patch, survivors got one perk (actually a stronger version of it) so killers should get something too (stronger killers get weaker effect and weaker killers get stronger effect of course, strong killers could have weak punishment ngl BUT only weak).
-
Whispers absolutely horrible perk and that it works well on demo is literally just one killer, the perk is too old for the current state of the game and demo has the add-on that literally do what whispers do but better (the iri), it's better to use slowdown instead of whispers
-
@Rokku_Rorru said:
And killers can also bm on the ground with the back and forth while slugging, lol
There are more survivors doing it compared to killers, personally I only BM the survivors only if they t-bagged or a bully squad (not all of them t-bag) and many other killers do the same. Also when you are slugged and getting BM'd watch YT or something but killers need to still play.
-
@Leshi said:
Next they going after lithe and balanced landing next
They will not go for the weaker versions of SB, SB was free haste for literally nothing and lithe and balanced landing require an activation, balance landing is also quite map dependent so don't expect nerfs to it. SB was the best exhaustion perk and would remain strong after the nerf but not as bad that it's unplayable for 4.4 killers against it (obviously I am not talking about blight), now the survivor will need to think where to run (to the materials) instead of just holding W and wasting a lot of time.
-
@Royval said:
am I crazy?
Use map offerings if you get those maps so much, I only get them once in awhile with other maps, like those 2 maps are a realm with only one map so they get a higher chance
-
Decisive strike should also deactivate when a survivor enters a locker or uses plot twist, cuz that's two main ways it's weaponized and Shoulder the burden should inflict broken only until the next hook state but really it needs a rework, killers really should get some incentive to not tunnel with all of those buffs (like at least b&c with some slowdown on unique hooks with a nerf/rework to original perk), killers tunnel to remove 25% of the survivor team which is able to do gens, heal, unhook and more so killers need incentive for not tunneling as well as it being harder to tunnel but not completely impossible/too punishing.

^ this. Whenever something on the Survivor Side gets nerfed or needs nerfing (according to Killer Mains), then the reasoning is "M1 Killers". This has just become a buzzword at this point. Because we all know that if Sprint Burst and Vigil are nerfed, people will not just suddenly drop their Ghoul, Blight or Jason and play Trapper or Ghostface instead.
The problem with weak Killers being weak is that there is an issue with those Killers. And not with the stuff Survivors have. Nerfing Sprint Burst and Vigil only benefits strong Killers, because those are actually played. Sure, there is the odd Trapper which will benefit from it, but if I look at my games, I barely go against M1-Killers.
Ghoul is technically a M1 killer btw
-
If you can't win without using those perks that's a skill issue, survivors complained about hexes (strong with Jason) and slugging becoming strong currently (as it counters a bunch of meta survivor perks which are pretty bs from the killer perspective like shoulder the burden, ds, dh and many others) so coulrophobia and thrill got nerfed so bhvr does listen to survivors too as well as no where to hide getting nerfed which is strong on killers like Ghoul, bhvr is trying to shift the stale meta (SB was a meta perk for 10 years and vigil is a very strong perk and they will still remain strong after the nerf, SB is literally the best exhaustion perk as it doesn't require any activation, you can still use lithe and it wouldn't nerf a worse version of SB, vigil is , there will be many buffs to both sides to weak perks and those that are effected by diminishing returns like that haste boon maybe).
Now ghoul, he is not the strongest killer and there are like 7 stronger killers than him, the easy aspect of him is getting a free hit (plague and legion do that) and very strong mobility, but he still needs to loop to get a down, the very skillful part is cutting off the survivor with the ability to down them and that's what really makes ghoul A tier, he would be B tier otherwise.
I bet I can name more survivor bs then you can name killer bs, the base kit bt did get nerfed but it got the elusive now which makes it basically impossible to track the survivor so less tunneling then with just 15s of endurance which was often abused, like this a buff to all survivors, not a just a nerf to a few perks which not everyone is using.
-
Blight does have 5 tokens compared to 2/3 tokens and he is still a much stronger killer, this could be a way to nerf him but it would need to be a small one, the second hit for bad players requires looping and for good players they can do cut offs which does take skill. Maybe for the first hit the timing should be harder.
-
There's nothing cringe at doing anything in this game, as survivor you can gen rush and as killer you can tunnel at any time, it's killers objective to kill and survivors objective to survive using any means necessary and any rules are just made up, some stuff might be unfair/annoying but it's not a reason to blame the person.

I honestly do think that the people at BHVR really needs to fix the pallet density as there is just so many pallets everywhere to the point where it makes it really rough to play the weaker killers that are in the game who cannot keep up with how fast paced this game has become, i think either BHVR needs to bring back dead zones or just get rid of the pallet density update because a lot of killer players really hate how many pallets there are now to the point where they just stop playing the weaker killers and just play the strongest ones in the game like Blight, Ghoul or Nurse.
I do not know why normal 1V4 has 2V8 pallet balance and it honestly needs to be fixed ASAP.
Ig I am used to pallet density update now but I do find it annoying sometimes as killer main, my biggest complaint is when bhvr themselves stated that they are not planning on doing ANY changes to the pallet density BUT each new update a new pallet spawns which never spawned before and a new double pallet setup on irie of crows which spawns every time and there are many maps that get more pallets after they said that, like if they are saying they are not planning to change it then don't make it worse.

Realistically its just the consequence of it being an asym with a large and healthy playerbase, for the queues to be even killers need to be around 1/5th of the people matchmaking, ANY higher - even 1/4th - is going to be decently long queues. If you look at survivor queue times, they're instant, but lobby fill itself is instant as well even after players leave, so theres no shortage of survivor players queuing up for matches. A lot more people are willing to join the killer queues with the 'play while you wait' feature added to 1v4 as well, which drives up the times a bit ever since (not that its a bad feature, just that theres more people in the queue at a given moment, especially during daytime.).
No, it's cuz of shortage of survivors, the queue times are instant for survivors as there's not enough, not many killers use play while you wait and the bp bonus is given to the side with lack of players (survivors have the bp bonus most of time)

Bhvr filtering system is way to harsh sometimes tho. Last PTB we had it was cencoring LMFAO. Perk names such as rancor ive seen cencored too.
/topic
You are able to close the chat so it will never open again, you can also still report people other commenters have stated.
until DBD has a way of letting me be annon in starting lobby but not end game lobby those restrictions are not needed as most people play annon to avoid lobby shoppers.
I know that you can turn off the chat but personally I find it funny, I haven't seen "lobby shoppers" personally and I don't do that, but you can just wait for a different killer, doesn't take long. I have gotten survivors who leave the match when the match is loading cuz they got the message saying who is the killer (happens sometimes) and they just leave cuz of entitlement (this is worse than the "lobby shoppers" as then as killer you need to wait for the long queue time and the survivor is not punished)
-
You can still report them, but the issue that needs to be addressed is the amount of toxicity and bad filters like bhvr is not a small company, they should be able to make the same filtering system as marvel rivals or deleting egc would be enough

Old ruin was very unhealthy.
NOED needed the changes.
Call of brine is thing of the past - this perk synergized with too much things, which creater 1-hour long matches.
POP got it's glory back.
I didnt enjoy stbfl changes, so I will never justify it.
Ultimate weapon was also terrible to go against, synergy with old dead man switch was just too strong. Both sides had great perks, but killers always had better ones.
Dead hard in my experience wasn't that bad. Surviviors had way worse things available. Can we just think for a moment, survivors have 16 perks compared to 4 killer perks, they are supposed to be weaker than killer perks, tho currently one survivor meta perk is equal in strength to one killer perk and that's one reason killers need to tunnel, needing to hit a survivor three times cuz you hooked them once is not really the nicest experience (I am talking about dead hard, it's not an anti-tunnel perk cuz it can be used even if killer decides not to tunnel and gives a lot of value for losing), majority of survivor perks actually reward you for losing and those are basically the meta, majority of meta killer perks on the other hand require you to down and also most of the time hook a survivor which means trying to win while survivors can still sabotage or flashlight safe preventing the killer from doing the objective, perks that reward killer for losing are batteries and fire up but they are very weak, also noed but it's often cleansed before you even get a hit.
-
Is this ragebait?
-
Subo squads and majority of the time I can hook only one survivor in the area cuz of lack of hooks (I cannot reach to another hook without the survivors wiggling off) so I need to leave the survivors (slugging is evil, isn't it?), you are basically asking for more slugging.

Needs to be hidden for everyone. Killers being able to shop for lobbies and be like "nah ill pass these people are all pc" is annoying. recently killers have started to dodge lobbies that have to many annons. its like we playing in annon because they dodge all the time then now they starting to dodge because we are annon, something needs to change.
I have never dodged a lobby, if I had to leave, I needed to leave for a good reason, I actually dodged a cheater once cuz of the discord username, queue times are quite long now (was like 30 seconds before 2v8 and now it's like 5 minutes after 2v8 which is annoying, 5 minutes is basically half of what an average game lasts), Idk what killers you get but I don't think killers dodged many games like you cannot know if they dodge cuz you are on pc or cuz of the anon.

I guess this is more so for streamers or content creators, but do you guys think it’s a little unfair that we can’t see the killer’s name until the match is over.
I’m asking because when I watch killer gameplay, they click on survivor’s profiles to check the hours.
OR, should survivor usernames just be disabled until the end of the match.EDIT: I accidentally left out infamous Bully Squads as a potential issue for the second option
Just use anonymous mode as a survivor if that's an issue for you about the hours and if killer uses anonymous then the name has to be hidden cuz anonymous show the name of the character you are playing so nothing will basically change, hypothetically if killer doesn't hide their profile then if they chose to say who their main is in the profile and also if it's epidemy for example then people will obviously will dodge them, survivors will dodge them depending on the killer, survivors cannot see the killer for that so they suffer the penalty if they want to dodge the killer which basically ruins the match for the team and killer actually). There are much bigger issues then this one, while this is not even an issue.

I am a killer main and I play unknown a lot (very fun killer) and after the buffs he seems fine to me, like he is rn pretty balanced.

Even if the other 3 have resurgence this perk is one time use so you'll only be able to do it to one person max. (unless everyone takes 2 perks for this build)
One time use per survivor, so you can use it on 3 survivors if you have booned a totem then used it then did it again and boon another totem and use it again on 3 different survivors

I'd say much of the same things you mentioned. Tunneling and slugging are indeed iffy ones. I get tunneling and slugging in late game to regain some pressure after a poor start. But you've got some Killers who will tunnel and slug for toxic purposes as well. I had a Ghoul tunnel me out because I'm a TTV (it was in their username). Another tunneled out a Sable and then became friendly with the rest of us (they declared in their username that they tunnel Sables).
For slugging, you know there's slugging to avoid flashlight/pallet saves, and then those who play solely to bleed everyone out from the start. The latter is an example of toxic slugging.
And then Survivors can also be toxic to each other as well, which is the most infuriating thing for me. They can pin you in corners and you can't do a thing about it. They can lead a Killer to their teammates. Sometimes it can be accidental, but if it happens throughout the match, you know it's no accident. And then the unhook spam. The devs say they've patched that out, but I've seen it happen after that.
I tunnel and slug because I want to win the game and it's hard to play without those strategies as the game is survivor sided (there is proof and facts). Especially when I play ghostface without those strategies it feels impossible to win on weak M1 killers. I personally don't understand the complaints about when you are tunneled, it's obvious that chasing is much more fun than doing gens, the only thing you are losing is blood points from gens but more fun and skill based experience.

We are getting some unique perks in the new ptb, so I'm hopeful we'll get more interesting powers as time goes on for both killer and survivor.
That said I love 2v8 for its simplicity sometimes, it's a welcome variety. The new hex is literally twack (skull merchant perks, however it's spelled) and the one with haste on blind and stun... The haste on blind is similar to shadowborn.
Survivor perks, the permanent charges is like fast track for healing, the haste perk is budget lithe with no exhaustion and picking up the pallet ability (stun the killer in shack and vault back to pick up the shack pallet and vault speed to not get hit or lithe cuz those two perks can stack, pretty strong imo).
Not really that unique I would say.
-
We really need diminishing returns for gen rushing
It's actually crazy that you can do a gen in less than 30 seconds by yourself (I have a video of gen being done in 22 seconds by one survivor with diminishing returns being in the game), hyperfocus + stakeout are not affected by dimishing returns. It takes 90 seconds to complete a gen so you can repair THREE extra gens in time it takes to complete one and it's by one survivor but there's 4 so 2 survivors can do the gens in less than 3 minutes (probably 5 and if you think that's long then ds should become shorter) while the other 2 loop the killer (this if killer has no slowdown but slowdown also needs time to activate (loop the survivor down them then hook them which takes more skill than sitting on a gen) and imagine if killer is not tunneling/slugging then it's just impossible to win). Imagine if I said that there should be dimishing returns for stacking like if 4 survivors have ds then it's timer is spread between 4 survivors so 15 seconds of ds only for survivor (btw survivors get 16 perks and killers gets 4 and it's pretty often that 1 survivor perk is equal to 1 killer perk like ds = pain res in strength basically), you wouldn't like that.
If you really think that is a needed feature then I hope you don't complain tunneling and slugging, the game is survivor sided according to stats and facts (I can give a really good example of the game being survivor sided if you need me to).

I fully agree that the Killer Perks are mid, but calling the Survivor Perks busted is really a big stretch.
Wide Open Throttle currently is completely overrated. The Perk does not provide any distance on its own and while it sounds busted to recycle Shack Pallet, it will most likely result in a Hit. Which then begs the question, why even drop the Pallet at all if you get hit anyway? You also cannot really control when to use this Perk, at some point you have to vault a random unsafe Pallet because the Killer is mindgaming it and this will just result in the Survivor getting a Hit and the almost non-existent value of an unsafe Pallet being up again.
I dont know yet how I feel that it counters Dissolution, but Dissolution is such a cheap Perk on certain Killers, I dont mind if it gets a little bit weaker because of that.
Lend a Hand is bad. Your points dont stand at all. You mention an SWF and while SWF is the ultimate Scapegout, a competent SWF will not use such a Perk. They have access to other, way better Perks and therefore you will not see Survivors stacking up their permanent healing progress on one Survivor. The combination with Resurgence is also a nothingburger, I mentioned it in another Thread, but since you have to cleanse a Totem before to activate the Perk, the benefit will be 0 in the end, since you dont really save time overall. (Which is probably the reason why they added this requirement in the first place)
Cross-Examination is more of a Killer Perk to be honest. Yes, this means that Survivors can use Flashlights more efficiently, but you know what is not efficient? Using Flashlights. I guarantee you, this Perk will get more Survivor Teams lose because one person decides to follow the Killer around.
My biggest issue with Wide open throttle is it encourages holding W play style which is very annoying to face especially on 4.4 killers and if you stun the killer and vault back it's not a free hit, you can just use vault speed perks to guarantee this. As I think about this perk countering dissolution I don't think it's really that bad.
Lend a hand problems are is a potential of healing quicker than killer can hit you like it was with circle of healing and how it stacks with conviction, power struggle and some other perks related to downed survivors like those that gives endurance on picking up a survivor or when for you when you are picked up, this has teh fast track potential imo and the requirement to boon is to stack it with circle of healing or exponential, like this perk is bad by itself or in solo q but same thing with shoulder the burden and it's a busted perk in swf.
Cross-examination is weak but it's the killer supposed who is supposed to chase the survivor not survivor chase the killer, this perk needs a rework so it's not as bad, and sometimes one flashlight save at the beginning will lose the game for a weak killer like ghostface or trapper. Also this perk makes the game harder for killer who are not very experienced.

This statement is starting to get so annoying! “If killers are tunneling, you need to learn how to loop better” its honestly the dumbest thing i have ever heard in my life, killers can still tunnel even if the survivor is really good! or they can just tunnel for literally no reason at all, Tunneling out a survivor doesnt always mean they are bad at looping, honestly when most killers dont like a certain survivor even if they did nothing to them they will still tunnel them out, the way certain killers think will never make sense to me fr - we needed that anti tunnel update and now we get nothing smh
I think it is annoying to get tunneled but looping better does have a big role in it as in the pallet density update (before the 9.3.0 and there even now still more pallets than before) required no skill to loop killer and windows of opportunity turn on auto-loop mode and if someone still struggles with them it's their problem but I see what you mean and what we should tell survivors is to know how to avoid getting tunneled I have three main things that make me tunnel 1. When they use anti tunnel perks like DC or just body blocking of the hook 2. They should try to actually hide when they hear terror radius when they are death hook and when they are the only person I see I have not many choices 3. The gens speed is to quick so I better get someone out of the game so going for death hook survivor would benefit me because they are the weakest (showing they should loop better but hiding it's all they need)

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/460726/will-the-survivors-get-nerfed-with-gens
pretty much the issue we are at…its bottle necked to the solution of gen speeds that no survivor will ever want. killers struggle to keep up with the speed of gens, especially slow, m1 killers….so they tunnel and slug to speed things up to be on par with gen speeds. survivors want tunneling nerfed because its boring and op but when killers say slow the gens down so i can play the way you want me to play and spread hooks the response is always NO. cant have it all lol, faster gens fly, faster killers need to kill and vice versa. slow gens down, nerf tunneling and you would think everyone is happy but sadly thats the case because no survivor wants longer gens.
@UnicornMedal said:
Naturally you're going to see insane things in clips and compilations. The reality is that you're likely doing better than the average Survivor and limiting gens to improve your trials will lower the quality of theirs.
I do play survivor a sometimes, a bit less than killers and I understand that survivors would hate it but my proposed solution makes it longer just at the start of match and can be changed to 90% when there's five gens and just for the first gen and for then for second 95% and other 3 are at normal speed. This can be just applied to killers and with no map traversal. This would make enough difference's to weaker killers to improve their quality. Also in my mind I thought of that the PTB would go live with no changes. And just adding pop goes the weasel for not tunneling and slugging would be fine for weak killers. Any of those two changes would not make killer's that much different from now and this would equal to the pallets survivors have now assuming they are not changed (as they said they would lower it and weaken some of the loops in recent livestream).
