The Haste should be 30 seconds max. A survivor with Haste is pretty much untouchable on a lot of tiles. The other perks and stuff look fine.

Yeah I just thought about that, I'll edit that

  • @Snowstruck said:

These are just suggestions, and you do not have to agree. Help me edit them to fit a lot of people's likings c:!

I personally believe the devs are a little too scared to make good perks lately, and I think if they have a chance, they should revamp some of the new perks, though I doubt they will.

    Killer Perks:

Forced Penance - You become obsessed with one survivor.

Once the obsession is injured, they are afflicted with the broken status effect for 20/30/60 seconds, or until unhooked. Once the obsession is *safely* unhooked, the survivor who unhooked them becomes the obsession.

Trial of Torment - After kicking a generator, you become undetectable for 10/20/30 seconds.

Trial of Torment can only be triggered once every 120/100/80 seconds.

Deathbound- When a survivor heals another survivor for one health state when at least 40 meters away from you, Deathbound activates.

Once Deathbound activates, the survivor who healed the injured survivor's aura is revealed to you unless they are within 40 meters of you for 120 seconds, or stay within 16/12/6 meters of the survivor they healed.

Deathbound has a cooldown of 120/110/90 seconds.

    Survivor Perks:

Soul Guard - In a pretty good spot I'd say.

Blood Pact - You start the trial with 5 tokens.

When you, or the obsession, are injured, you see each others auras for as long as you or they are injured.

Once you heal the obsession a whole health state, or the obsession heals you for a whole health state, a token is consumed.

Once a token is consumed, you and the obsession gain the haste status affect for 30/60/120 seconds.

If the obsession is sacrificed or killed, all tokens will be consumed.

If the obsession swaps with another player (not sure how to word this- I mean, if someone hits DS and they become the obsession, for example) a token will be consumed.

Repressed Alliance - I also believe is in a good spot C:

A friend and I discussed this for about an hour.

Yeah, that’s why I mentioned them. All three of those items or their add-ons were problematic and got nerfed, so it’s likely that keys (an item that a lot of Killers hate) will get nerfed in the future. Did you think I was trying to say that those three items are still problematic?

I think they were just confused by your wording. :0

    •Moris

EBONY and IVORY ruin the game for survivors. Period it is used to kill people and get 4Ks. IVORY will always be used instantly and enforce tunneling making DS useless.

    •Keys

Keys are garbage and unfair. The Killer should never have all the momentum in a match with everyone and final hook just to have 3 survivors escape through hatch when they still have 1 gen to go because someone found a key in a chest and if they bring it I feel obligated to have FRANKLINS DEMISE and a MORI. Because Keys are unfair...SO ARE MORIS.

  • @Mooks said:

But that was my whole point. There is plenty of unfair mechanics ON BOTH SIDES.

you just talk about every unfair survivor mechanic but you are saying it is totally okay to Tunnel me and that is not unfair??

key are unfair. But that is okay, since many things are unfair. That was my point, I did not say every unfair mechanic needs reworking. But if you want to rework unfair survivor mechanics you have to look at the other side too.

Tunneling is fair, but that doesn't mean it's fun. And there technically is a penalty for camping, because a smart group will just do the objective while someone is on hook.

Oh, yeah. Sorry, I misunderstood your quote earlier. I honestly don't know what the results are, but having some knowledge about how this game works, I believe that Unbreakable takes priority over Soul Guard. I'd be really happy if I'm wrong. I would absolutely love to use this build.

    @thesuicidefox said:

SG should take priority over UB. It would be dumb to use UB when you can get up as much as you want.

    So, I did it.

    Results were:

Soul guard takes priority. If there is a hex totem, soul guard is the perk used. As soon as the totem is destroyed, soul guard still works with unbreakable for the endurance status effect, and unbreakable will activate as usual, with it's one time pick up thing.

Considering the number of factors invovled to test this in a public match, it'll be a real low probability that a killer with a hex totem slugs you. I'd suggest that you test it out in kyf mode. And even if you're unable to test it, it is absolutely fine. I'm very much overwhelmed by your gesture to help out a fellow community member. I cannot thank you enough <3

Yes, but I wanna know whether Unbreakable's 'full recovery' ability is still available when the Soul Guard effect goes away after breaking of a totem or does the ability to fully recover gets consumed with the first time you fully recover (coinciding with Soul Guard's recovery ability)?

I see. Thanks for the explanation. I'll try and get it in a public match but I can't promise it! So it might take a few hours, till my friend gets on for kyf c:.

I personally no longer have a problem with Iridescent Head because, if you think about it, Billy, Bubba and Oni can one-hit down with their base abilities. Good players won't get hit with Iridescent Head, and there are very few Huntress players with good aim as well. Of course, if she walks up behind you and hits you point-blank with a hatchet, you go down.... although it IS possible to dodge at that close of range as well. And when she does that, she's just a slower Billy, since she's 110% speed. I myself went into a game with Iridescent Head + 1 extra hatchet (first time using iri head!) and I really didn't do any better than if I had been doing my STBFL/double hatchet cooldown build. In fact, I actually did worse, because I was relying more on hitting my hatchets and the Survivors were actually good at dodging, as I would hope to expect from red ranks. I really don't think it's that big of a deal, moreso just an annoyance. I can't even imagine only having one hatchet with iri head and having to reload after every shot. After using it, I personally don't like it and think it's cheesy and boring, but only having one hatchet would ensure a steam-rolling from competent Survivors.

I experienced a vpning iri head huntress the other day, feelsbadman.

  • @Bubbas_mallet said:

No... Thats not what makes it annoying. Ranged 1 shot. No other killer has that. With infantry belt you get 3 tries. That is definetly overpowered, if you have even a little bit of skill on your side.

I only said it wasn't overpowered because everytime I don't give SOME back up, a killer main harasses me in the comments.. when they don't play both sides so...

  • @xCarrie said:

I've been thinking about what new items Survivors can use that aren't exclusive to events (fire crackers). And so I thought of something: Spray Cans.

I thought of how Survivors can use items to strategically mark areas and inform themselves and others of what the Killer is doing.

    Here's an example:

    Spray Can (common)

Description: Leaving a mark is how you make your enemies never forget what you’re capable of. Spray a symbol on the floor where you’re standing, consumes 1 charge. Whenever the Killer is within 8 meters of the symbol, their aura is revealed to you from any distance. Symbols last for 60 seconds. 2 charges.

And there could be more Spray Can variants of higher rarity that can slow Killer movement speeds, show Killer aura to other survivors, etc.

    Another Example:

    Rusted Splash Canister (Very Rare)

Description: A sturdy canister that looks to have been frequently used in the past. Spray a symbol on the floor where you're standing, consumes 1 charge. When a Killer is within 8 meters of the symbol, their movement speed is moderately decreased. Symbols lasts for 70 seconds. 2 charges.

    Thoughts?

    Cool concept C:

  • @toxik_survivor said:

I think it would be nice for the newer players. Here are some ideas.

High Confidence: You have 1/2/3 stacks to start. Every time your are hit from the exposed status effect when you are healthy, you only go down one health state. Whenever you or another survivor is hit with the exposed status effect you lose a stack. 0 stacks is when the perk deactivates.

Now Or Never: When endgame activates and a survivor is put on the hook your perk activates for 40/50/60 seconds. When you save the hooked survivor the survivor gets a installment heal in 10 seconds after being saved from the hook. Stunning the killer lasts .5, 1, 1.5 seconds longer when the exit gates are open.

Tricky Situations:: When 2 or more people are downed or on the hook your perk activates for 40/50/60 seconds. In this time as soon as you start healing another survivor within this time you get 2 difficult skillchecks. Each skill check heals 50% of the survivor. This perk is activated till the time runs out then it is deactivated and can not be used again.

What do you guys think? Good, bad, op?

We actually need more for killer, seen as killers have less perks than survivors.

I personally find the game much more fun when theres a secondary objective. Such as Moonrise Event.

gens + running killer is boring/fun, but like when we had the moonrise event, and had the sparkles on us and made escaping more difficult and awarded more points, I liked that.

They could add something like that and not make it mandatory to participate. Moonrise event was perfect example of what can be done and should to make the game more interesting than hitting spacebar for skill checks and hitting spacebar while running to vault a window,... just my opinion though.

Well, that is DBD as it is currently, and if you find it boring then maybe you shouldn't play it. I'm not saying that in a rude way, just to clarify- but if you find the game boring, why do you play it?

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

I wanted to wait a while before I made this post to fully test out the reworked maps (because I needed to see how much these changes impacted the game). And after playing on the reworked maps over and over, the devs basically have two options that will make the game more fair for killers.

    1. They can reduce the number of safe pallets (which will vary from map to map).

    2. They can give survivors more objectives to compensate for the longer chases against competent survivors.

Or, they can do a little of both.

I'm not sure what strategy the devs are using here. Do they like survivors having an abundance of safe pallets or is their plan to further update the maps?

Personally, I think it would be easier and more proper to simply remove some of the safe pallets and replace them with unsafe pallets. But of course, removing safe pallets would vary from map to map. Some maps might only need to have one or two safe pallets removed, but other maps will need more pallets removed (especially the heavily survivor-sided maps).

Doing a little of both is also reasonable I think. The devs have said they are open to the idea of giving survivors more objective(s).

Going the extra objective time route is probably the worst choice.

And before some of you jump all over me, I realize the implications of my suggestions. Making the maps more killer friendly does potentially open up a can of worms when you consider the higher tier killers (namely Billy or Oni).

Not to mention, Nurse or Spirit could very well become too strong if the devs added several extra objectives for survivors (considering these killers aren't bounded by map design as much).

If I had to guess, I don't think the map changes would make Billy or Oni overpowered. But if that happens, these killers can be toned down if need be (I doubt they would need much tweaking anyway).

Adding several extra objectives does seem like it would be too extreme (because of Nurse and Spirit).

Making the maps more killer friendly I think would be better than what we have now: Killers at high ranks using either a top tier killer or a lower tier killer (and risk getting a really bad map).

Point is, it does appear that map design is the bane of this game. Anyone who has played killer at rank 1 has probably noticed how relatively common it is for survivors to use map offerings. That's because they know certain maps give them a big advantage. And to be frank, having to deal with map offerings as killer can be irksome.

My hope is the devs will keep in mind the resources they give survivors to work with (and make necessary adjustments).

What do you guys think? I think the map design still needs needs improvement.

They've said they have no intention of adding more objectives, as it would be too much.

As for map changes- it's hard to say. Some maps are complete deadzones now, and if you're caught somewhere unsafe as survivor you are bound to get injured, and if already injured- downed. Some maps are still disgusting, but some are more killer sided now. It depends. It's a 50/50.

I don't see why that's the case... Could you give me your reasoning? I'm confused on three points:

    1) I don't see how knowing the killer's name affects the fairness of SWFs.

    2) This could potentially make the problem worse by potentially telling survivors which killer would be used (since some people, like myself, tend to play a lot of a single killer in a night) and letting them bring perk builds that counter said killer, which would totally skew the balance of the game even further into the survivors' hands... IE, if you know someone is playing a lot of doctor, you might bring calm spirit when you normally wouldn't just because you have more info ahead of time.

    3) I can't read your mind, hence why I'm asking for a reasoning, but my gut suspicion is that this is something like "If the killer gets a benefit, survivors should get a benefit too," which doesn't hold if the premise of my post is valid. Namely, I believe SWF already provides a benefit to the survivors, so I think a benefit needs to be given to the killers to compensate. Adding a benefit to both sides doesn't help alleviate the problem of one side having an unfair advantage.

With that said, I'm definitely down to add that to the initial post if there's something I'm missing!

And I'll reiterate again, I'm not saying you definitely hold the mentality in point 3, I'm just guessing there. Feel free to correct me!

Because killers can already see survivor usernames. It doesn't hurt to add it now, honestly shrug

Ive been seeing many people on the forums discussing ds being confirmed not to be anti tunnel and just have to say. OK? Ds not being anti tunnel doesnt address any of the problems the perk has when it comes to its imbalance of lockers and gens. A survivor can hop into a locker with ds, head on, and inner strength and end your career. If enduring still counted for all of these stuns I would be perfectly fine with this. I'm not trying to get a nerf to ds. It's great for solo players who get terrorized in this game. I'm just saying something as simple as giving enduring a slight effect on it would even out the playing field alot more. that way both sides would be happy with the change. That way survivors can keep their perk and killers aren't hit with 2 huge stuns in a row.

Edit thanks to @Kebek if it weren't for this comment I would've never made this post.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/131/H0CTQFJCC8RD.jpg

I agree with this 100%. I use the DS and head on combo, and while it is fun for me- I understand why killers tunnel you hard for doing that. Not only is it disgusting, it's just.. it's very obvious people do it to be like, "AHAha, I have these perks and unless you want to leave me, you have to suck it up and take me DS stun!"

There are ways to counter it, but obviously killers don't always think about it in the moment, and end up getting shat on essentially. Survivors playing cocky like this, while fun to DO, is not fun to play against. Adding this little "nerf" (I wouldn't even call it that.. it's literally balancing a known problem-esk thing.) would make DS and head on not compatible 100% of the time if they ran enduring, but if the survivor doesn't realize what's happening the killer can get some nasty revenge on them for trying it. :)

I like this suggestion! So def an upvote from me!

Killer perk set for a magician killer:

Hocus Pocus: each time you hit a survivor with a basic attack, apply a random status effect for 15 seconds. When you hook a survivor, each healthy survivor will receive a random status effect for 40, 50, 60 seconds.

Magician's Secret: whenever a skill check appears, it has a 5%, 10%, 15% chance of being cursed. Getting a great on a cursed skill check does nothing. Getting a good reveals the survivor's aura for 2 seconds. Failing a cursed skill check reveals the aura for 6 seconds.

Final Act: if the killer opens the exit gate, Final Act activates. While Final Act is activated, the killer's aura is revealed to all survivors for 30, 20, 10 seconds. All survivors will have one of these three effects happen to them: their aura will be revealed to the killer for the rest of the match, they will have the exposed effect for the rest of the match, or they can be moried.

This perk set allows for powerful advantages on the account that chance determines how they activate, leading to a high-risk, high-reward game.

    Maybe Hex: Magician's Secret?

Hmm... Seems like my response to this didn't post ot the thread...

Suffice to say: I want both sides to have fun. I don't want to 'punish' SWF groups. I want to balance them... I think comms are worth a perk slot, and I think a lot of perks were balanced around not having them, so they effectively give you several EXTRA perk slots. A variant version of those perks seems fair to me.

I already provided my reasoning behind killers dodging.

I don't understand why you're opposed to a bp bonus for going against a SWF team... BP going towards rank? Maybe there's just a miscommunication here: BP = blood points. They don't count towards rank. I wouldn't advocate for any rank-related benefit or drawback for going against a SWF group.

I really resent your accusatory tone here. I'm presenting something I think is a problem and looking for solutions, not leaning in close and begging all my killer main friends to ask BHVR to make the game worse for survivors. If you don't think it's a problem, I'd rather you find a way to express that which explains your reasoning and isn't so hostile and dismissive.

But thanks for the feedback, nonetheless. I'll add 'Don't Change Anything' to the post, since that seems to be your view... but 'Just Tunnel' doesn't really solve anything as far as I can see.

And while being able to tell if it was a swf would be great, if they added that they would have to add survivors seeing killers usernames at least.
