Hmm... Seems like my response to this didn't post ot the thread...

Suffice to say: I want both sides to have fun. I don't want to 'punish' SWF groups. I want to balance them... I think comms are worth a perk slot, and I think a lot of perks were balanced around not having them, so they effectively give you several EXTRA perk slots. A variant version of those perks seems fair to me.

I already provided my reasoning behind killers dodging.

I don't understand why you're opposed to a bp bonus for going against a SWF team... BP going towards rank? Maybe there's just a miscommunication here: BP = blood points. They don't count towards rank. I wouldn't advocate for any rank-related benefit or drawback for going against a SWF group.

I really resent your accusatory tone here. I'm presenting something I think is a problem and looking for solutions, not leaning in close and begging all my killer main friends to ask BHVR to make the game worse for survivors. If you don't think it's a problem, I'd rather you find a way to express that which explains your reasoning and isn't so hostile and dismissive.

But thanks for the feedback, nonetheless. I'll add 'Don't Change Anything' to the post, since that seems to be your view... but 'Just Tunnel' doesn't really solve anything as far as I can see.

Well, for the BPS thing= That's also like saying survivors should get extra bps if they get slugged and die very early. It just doesn't make sense. You have to EARN bps..

And they shouldn't restrict perks because they are swfing. And lots of people (including me) swf without comms. There is no legitimate way to tell if they are communicating or not, guess I should of read that better.

Sorry for being hostile, I appreciate someone like you who doesn't lash out because their opinion is different from the opposing side.

  • Imagine wanting to punish people for playing a multiplayer game with their friends.

I'm sorry, but if they did that, this game would die. If they wanted to punish swfs, they would've by now.

And if you are so scared of swfs, tunnel. I don't care if it's a d*ck move, and if they talk sh*t end game, oh well. You have to do what you have to do. Doesn't mean you have to hard tunnel, but tunneling is a strat, no matter how much people get mad at killers for it. If it works, it works.

Killers being able to see swfs would result in lobby dodging. That's like saying survivors should be able to see the killer.

Eliminating perks because people want to play with their friends is ridiculous, period.

If you want bonus BPS, you better not mean it counts towards rank because- no. Maybe if you beat the swf, you can gain bonus BPS. Otherwise.. no.

Itโ€™s our privilege to see our victims ๐Ÿ˜€ joking I play on both sides equally. I know some people say itโ€™s not fair that killers can see survivors names and survivors canโ€™t see killers until after the game ends but honestly If survivors saw killers and their names it would lead to people dodging lobbies especially if itโ€™s someone they played against previously who was toxic on either Side.

So killers can lobby dodge and survivors can't, is what you're saying?

Sorry, it came off that way.

It would lead to more lobby dodging, yes, but so does killers seeing our names in lobbies.

  • @CantDeadHarder said:

I'm just gonna say it how it is, this forum usually consists of killer mains requesting/suggesting buff ideas to killers and perks, or complaining about survivors' meta perks.

I'm not saying killer mains shouldn't voice their minds but it seems like the replies they get are usually tame and civil. people have a format of telling them "I don't agree with you and here is why..." and it's nice to see people have a substantial conversation. But if the post is regarding survivors, it gets kinda crazy.

For instance, if i made a post named "stop complaining about facecamping", I'd see general support in the replies from killers, maybe some survivors but mostly killers.

Now, if i made a post that said "Stop complaining about Dead Hard" or "DS is balanced". instead of them opening their mind, and looking at the other side's point of view, the replies lowkey get rude. some of the common replies you'll see are.

    "found the survivor main lol"

    "Survivors complain about everything."

    "git gud"

"well dont run (Perk name(s)) then."

    "But when survivors do it."

    etc.

Look I'm not trying to call killer mains out or anything. This is just an observation I've made. If a discussion is about a perk or mechanic for one side, it's ok to make references to the other side, a good example of this would be "I understand that DS + Unbreakable is a really powerful combo, but so is Enduring + Spirit Fury." Or vice versa.

Not to mention when any form of toxicity is discussed of survivors, killers will support the OP, as they should. But when a survivor comes on the forums to talk about killers being toxic, there is always this mindset that ALL KILLER PLAYERS are saints, and that the survivor did something to insinuate that toxicity. Youtube is also making SWF seem like a toxic thing, because a few SWF wanted to be ######### and teabag. In a good half of my games, when the killer concludes I'm playing with friends, they behave like jerks just becasue we're SWF. That doesn't equal a bully death squad. We are just playing for fun.

Not to mention when a survivor is chasing the killer with a flashlight, it's seen as toxic. Maybe they're just trying to go for a flashlight save? Tru3 and Monto usually have some passive aggressive comments when they're in the process of being blinded or get blinded. I don't understand how trying to save a teammates makes me an ######### and ends up with me getting facecamped, but getting tunnel mori'd is completely fine.

Sorry for the rant, not calling out killer mains as a whole. I just don't feel as though my opinion as a survivor main matters as much as a killer main's opinion, it just sucks.

    Go through my posts-

I made a post explaining my side on a view on a killer.. and...

All the replies were killer mains saying,

"People like you are the reason the community is so toxic"

    or

    "Only you have this opinion."

    or

    "You're a snowflake"

    ect

Not fun to read, people need to grow up and see both sides.

I obviously read you crying about how unfun it is for you to play against her. And then you backed it up by simply repeating the same thing only by your perspective on the killer side. Like a typical snowflake. It was pretty funny honestly because you sound like you're still crying that you can't treat her like most killers and refuse to adjust your play style. Again, nice bait. If you want to be masochistic and run killers like Clown and Jonah Hex then that's on you. Most good Spirit players don't need to run Stridor when people like you will just give up so just suicide on hook and move on. Or keep making snowflake posts because it won't change a thing.

Yeah um.. keep talking out of your *ss my guy. Have a great day to you too, seen as the only snowflake here is the one saying I'm "crying" about spirit when it is pretty well known that, from a survivor and killer perspective, people just do not like her. Like I said, you can have your own opinions, but being a smart*ss like this will end you in a rutt somewhere. Good luck to you too, :)

Than I stand correct! You don't like the lack of feedback she gives because

    1. You don't play her enough
    2. Your not trying to use your brain

You've gotten so use to mindlessly looping killer's that you hate having to use your brain to try to even wonder what she's doing or going to do. Idk I guess our playstyle's are different because I love the fact that she forces survivor's to use their brain

Uhh.. literally other killers make you think differently too. It's not that I "don't want to use my brain." it's that i don't HAVE to use my brain, because it's a coin flip!

It's gonna sound like I'm attacking you when I'm not. The energy I'm getting from you is that you don't like facing a killer that forces you to play in a different way because you don't wanna use your brain, and you would rather mindlessly loop a killer?

Uh, no. Spirit is the only one. I can tolerate any killer that can counter loops, except her. :)

I have been a Freddy main since he dropped in 2017, as I am simply a massive Elm Street fanatic, I got pretty good at him too. I knew all his little little tips and tricks, and I even got up to the purple and early red ranks with him. I miss old Freddy, he wasn't the weakest killer, he was simply the most niche. I got a lot of hate for years for playing what was called the weakest killer, often just little jabs but there were some particularly nasty people there too.

I was incredibly disappointed (still am tbh) about his rework, but I still mained Krueger mostly because he was my only killer that I had literally every single perk and countless addons on. I got pretty good at the current Freddy too, and I see people constantly insult him even still. I think he needs some adjustments, not full nerfs exactly, and especially not to the degree that I see a lot of people on these boards asking.

It kinda feels like a real damned if you do, damned if you don't kinda situation.

TBH a lot of people just hate forever freddies, but freddy right now should not change, as much as we hate certain addons.

His power is counterable, and people who whine about it are just plain pussies, to put it simply. His power is balanced, and not overpowered, and if mastered can f*ck up a squad. It's a good balance, and it takes skill to learn, but once you have him down he's pretty damn good.

Current Freddy is fine. I personally don't like playing against FOREVER freddies, but freddy himself is fine. And while I don't like playing against forever freddies, I can put my big boy pants on and deal with it, because it's fine and shouldn't go anywhere.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RX873GQ63UHH/spirit.jpg

Fake phasing is what BHVR intended on her doing. BHVR giving her some kind of indicator that she's phasing will defeat the purpose of Rin Yamaoka, but it still won't solve the problem. Why? Because all she has to do is hide her husk and she can phase.

Those that are complaining about that "I hate that she's a guessing game" y'all are literally mad that y'all have to use your brain to counter her. The only reason why I can counter Spirit as a survivor is because ik how she think. So what if her chase's are 50/50, aren't all chases 50/50 depending on if you play your cards right? She's the same way, if she makes the right reads in her chases she can win that chase. Spirit is literally the only killer I have fun playing against simply because she's not like the other killer's where mindlessly looping them is the most effective way to counter her. What's so thrilling about running in the same circle over and over and over again?

I don't have much to say about Stridor and Spirit because I learned Spirit without Stridor and when I used it on her I felt that it was too OP. The only thing I can justify about Stridor on Spirit is the current fuckery with sounds and chase music being way louder than survivor's grunts of pain.

I AM AWARE. THAT IT WAS INTENDED.

That does not make it balanced or fun, just because it was intended. Just saying?

I have, but not as frequently and-- they're pretty ridiculous arguments :0

  • Spirit is the only killer I said I wanted to change. People commenting are making it seem like I hate all killers you can't mindlessly loop LOL.

  • @Thatsmartguy said:

I posted this before but it just disappeared idk but I said before that when is people gonna stop complaining about killers devs can't do anything about this no matter what they nerf y'all still gonna be complaining almost every killer has received a complaint.

Clown- should get blinded to by his gas and also should blind surviors so much or slow them.

Spirt- shouldn't see scratch marks when phasing.

Hillbilly- I just seen his is too OP with this new update cuz of his map pressure.

Oni- people say is just like hillbilly with better flick and his ultra rare addon when he sees y'all aura when bleading.

Deathslinger- how he stops window loops and BT.

Freddy the god of all complaints- I'm not even gonna go into detail of his complaints and crys just know everything he does is a complaint

    Huntress- her insta down hatchets.

Legion- I just see that they are annoying not really any complaints that I have seen at least.

    Demi- haven't seen any yet.

Doctor - how he static blast you, make you scream, and can't drop pallets or window vault even tho it slows him down badly when he does this and its easy to doge.

Hag- that she shouldn't be able to place traps in a certain area around hooked people.

Michael - both ultra red add ons and even the scratch mirror.

Plague- they she shouldn't have a red fountain at the start.

Trapper- nothing that I have seen yet.

Nurse - still complain about her but its mainly on pc.

wraith- silent bell and wall hack.

Pig- some said that they should nerf pig helmet even tho its bad already.

Ghostface- a butch of stuff about his night shroud.

New killer- will most likely get complaints and isn't even out yet.

Basically the devs can't do anything about this complaints take nurse and spirit for example they nerfed them both and yet they still get crys for more nerfs like ok y'all want them in the ground or somthing once they get nerfed y'all move on to another killer to cry about like no killer is safe dude.

Uhh... the only killers that I (respectively) see people complain about are spirit, huntress (only with iri head and hitboxes) and freddy (SELECTIVELY only forever freddies). Personally the only killer that needs a real nerf is Spirit. Other than that, I mean.. they could fix hitboxes? I guess? But that isn't a huntress only thing, it's a dedicated server thing shrug.

Really, this post is just funny to me.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/154341/why-we-hate-spirit

Like most OP's all you had to say was why people don't like playing AGAINST the spirit rather than both which is how you started your post. I also find it crummy how playing with Iron will against a spirit means nothing meanwhile if the spirit has stridor it suddenly becomes cheap even if the survivors have Iron will? This is one of the main reasons why this community is so toxic. People rarely think about the other side and this is a prime example of it. I understand this is your opinion but please do actually try understanding the other side rather than lying.

I literally just forgot to add the other part, someone's salty. Jesus christ. I play killer too, ya know, just not spirit. I personally don't like playing as her because it takes little, to no skill, to learn her.

I played her a bit, and decided I didn't like it. Period. It doesn't take a whole lot of skill to stand still at a pallet and have someone vault towards you bud. It's just not fun to play as.

So, before you get your panties in a twist and say, "PleAsE unDerStanD thE OThEr SiDE BeFoRE LyIng", there you go. I wasn't lying, and I wasn't being "toxic". I even said it was MY opinion, and other people can have other opinions, but apparently you didn't read the whole thing, so f*ck me I guess?

Well vigil is a perk for Quentin Smith that can be unlocked as a teachable at lvl 40. Vigil allows exhaustion to go down faster, but rarely anyone runs this perk after the nerf that survivers got a while ago, when they no longer lose exhaustion while running. So for a buff for this perk, running vigil allows survivers be able to have exhaustion go down while running, but in do so makes losing the exhaustion even slower by 8% 7% and 6% based on tier of the vigil or something like that. Think of it like the self care nerf. You change the numbers around, or give your opinion of what you guys think. I want only the best for dead by daylight, in right now it's currently getting there, with balance and everything. Tell me what you think, but if you are rude... I won't care what you think. Thank you /\/\/\(.__.)\/\/\/

TBH if vigil just made it so you could recover while running when exhausted, it would be a damn good perk.

One example, as someone else guessed Nurse related was my main complaint but things like fat shaming are what I'm talking about. Things that aren't supposed to be happening and survivors abuse it for an ez win with minimal effort.

No, like the window was open and killers couldn't go through. It wasn't fat shaming, it was just a terrible bug.

  • @coppersly said:

I just love playing against survivors who know where a killer can't use their power because it's bugged/map eats it, and they just abuse the living hell out of it for the entire match. So is it tech to abuse bugs that we're waiting patiently years for to fix or is it just being a real bummer of a gamer that just wants to make everyone else have no fun?

Like the temple map glitch? People were abusing it by going through the open window, knowing that the killer will have to go around because it is bugged.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1290151#Comment_1290151

I specifically said two other ways you can counter her. Spine chill and iron will just give you a bigger boost.

I'm not going to argue on it, all I'm saying is she is far from balanced.

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

Although it's a rare opinion, please hear me out on this. People believe that spirit is unbalanced and I have some arguments for what they're offering. Let's see my side of perspective as a hybrid player:

    1. 50/50 mindgames. Basically when she sits still and you don't know if she's phasing or not. I've managed to counter that by simply one perk: spine chill. You know when she'll start phasing because your spine chill will go off, meaning she doesn't know your exact position but knows that you are in a certain radius. Game knowledge helps with this too, alongside the spirit's gameplay. If I know that when she stands still she's phasing then I know that she doesn't mindgame and vise versa.

    2. Unable to see where she's coming from because she's invisible. That's the point. Her whole purpose as a character is being invisible, this shouldn't be changed at all!

    3. If you have good headphones and stridor you basically win. That's entirely incorrect. When I play spirit I can't use stridor. It confuses the ######### out of me when someone doesn't have iron will. Besides, learning the exact distance is really tough.

    4. Spirit can't be looped like any other killer which breaks the game. You mean like nurse? Nurse also can't be looped normally and the only way to counter her are jukes and breaking line of sight, just like how spirit is countered.

So what do you guys think about the spirit? Let me know down below.

If you need a certain perk just to counter a killer, it's not very balanced.

  • @bm33 said:

I get survivors body blocking a killer, or a killer blocking a survivor - those make sense. Survivors shouldn't be able to body block other survivors - it just ruins gameplay for other survivors trying to do objectives. Myself and teammates keep getting body blocked by randoms at totems in corners or gens (mostly totems though) until a killer comes over. Killers want and should get totems in well hid spots but survivors shouldn't have to risk getting stuck in a spot because another survivor feels like being a jerk. Allowing survivors to be able to move through other survivors will stop this.

Idk man I like sandbagging my friends

Also, most randoms won't do this, and if they do a majority of killers will punish them for it, unless they're sweating.

And I love using Lucky Break as well!

I just want to know what perks you all use regularly (Killer and Survivor) that aren't part of the meta!

Here is a list of the perks that I have seen the most in my games that I would call meta (I know that many of you are already aware of what the meta perks are, but I just wanted to make a list to ensure that everyone knows!):

    • Killer: Corrupt Intervention, Hex: Ruin, Barbeque and Chili, Infectious Fright, Nurse's Calling, Discordance, Hex: No One Escapes Death, Monitor and Abuse, Pop Goes the Weasel, Save the Best for Last, Sloppy Butcher, Thanatophobia, Whispers
    • Survivor: Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Head On, Inner Strength, Iron Will, Kindred, Lithe, Prove Thyself, Self-Care, Spine Chill, Sprint Burst, Unbreakable, Urban Evasion

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all consider "essential" to your builds that isn't part of the meta! And discussion about why you think certain perks aren't usable is welcome as well! (except for obvious ones like This Is Not Happening.... hehe) ๐Ÿ˜

So I had an idea that if survivors choose to play SWF then they forfeit the ability to use certain perks. As certain perks are okay when used by solo survivors but become unbalanced when used by SWF teams.

Object of Obsession: When OoO is paired with comms, it becomes extremely unbalanced and unfair to the killer to go against. In a SWF the OoO user is able to inform their team the location of the killer at all times.

DS: I personally believe DS should get a nerf where it deactivates when the survivor begins working on a genrator. DS is an extremely powerful perk, and top SWF team can abuse the flawed perk design to their advantage.

Maybe Unbreakable: Unbreakable is one of the strongest survivor perks in the game. It can turn a game in a situation where normally the survivor team would have lost. I'm 50/50 whether unbreakable should be included in this.

Although I don't think BT should be locked, as it's one of the only perks you can use to counter camping.

I must stress that I'm actually a survivor main (a solo survivor main), I also play killer at red ranks so I know what it's like to go against a top SWF team, and the frustration it can cause. Even when you get a 4k against them the experience that led to that win was not an enjoyable experience.

Comment your opinion whether you agree or disagree with me. If you do agree with me what other perks would you add to be locked from SWF.

Thats like saying get rid of bbq because it's a clutch perk every killer uses

  • Guess what just happened?

Got a spirit, got hooked pretty quickly (hawkins).

Got unhooked, and my friend went to go body block.

    What did she do?

Completely ignore him and go for me.

Downs me and sweat moris me.

And dont defend them with, "Well, they just went for the injured person."

    He was injured.

As SOON as I was unhooked, I was dead.

I got to play for 2 minutes TOPS, lost a pip and got about 4000 bps.

So don't sh*t on me for being "entitled."

I notice how it's only YOU losing that's unfair, though. If the Killer's not allowed to kill you too fast, and thus you get a 3-4K escape..Ah well, that's the price of having a 'fair' game. Right?

Rofl. That's the thing I'm trying to point out; You're claim of 'unfair' is so purely subjective that it would be stupid to balance around it.

You're sitting here saying 'Moris are unfair' like it's a cold, hard fact, which it's not. But you seem to think that the devs have to listen to what YOU say is 'unfair'.

Whic goes back to why I keep saying 'Survivors make up rules for the Killers':

YOU think it's unfair, and therefor Killers should not do it. And Devs should change the game. All because YOU don't want to accept that sometime you die fast.

That is peak entitlement. 'I don't like this thing, so change it'.

Yeah, you're not reading entirely what I said. Just going to ignore you since you're so entitled to not realizing the situation that you want to keep an argument going that ended as soon as it started :').

And it's not "me", it's everyone. Even killers. That hate moris. So ye

  • I hate this the more I look at it

Uh-huh. Sure. I get it; losing in a PvP game is somehow unfair. Sure.

I notice how it's only YOU losing that's unfair, though. If the Killer's not allowed to kill you too fast, and thus you get a 3-4K escape..Ah well, that's the price of having a 'fair' game. Right?

Did I ever say losing very quick without a mori meant they sucked?

    Hello? Can you read?

    I said:

    MORIS

    ARE

    BAD

    WHEN

    TUNNELED

    OFF

    FIRST

    HOOK

    I did not say:

Killers who kill quickly suck and do not deserve the 4k.

Don't put words in my mouth, learn to understand the situation :).

If they kill us fair, and get us quickly, sure! It's fair, they outplayed us and its ggs.

However, when they get one hook and suddenly said person is dead within 30 seconds it's kind of ridiculous.

You're very entitled, dear friend. Very. I play both sides and I can see from a mile away whether it's fair or not.

Keys are not fair, either, so do NOT bring that up, because that's what a lot of you people do. Moris, and keys, both need to be nerfed/removed. Period. End of discussion.

By that logic; at every gen done, a Survivor should drop dead. Because a 4V1 with 1 gen left is unfair. The Killer does not have enough time remaining to catch and down people before the gates are opened. ๐Ÿคท

The Killer's goal is. To. Kill. You.

    To. Kill. You.

    Kill. You.

Not to pat you on the head and go 'Oh High Lord Survivor. Is it okay for me to hit you yet? I'd so hate to be 'unfair', m'Lord!'

Or You got a gen done; can I hit you now, m'Lord?'

Or 'You have 3 gens done. Does my Lord Survivor see it fit, in his oh so kingly of hearts, to let me have a few spare BP from hooking him? I'll, of course, go across the map and flog myself for even asking, my Lord. Let your friends come and unhook you! I'd hate to be called 'unfair', oh noble Survivor!'

    ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

Go on: Go to Overwatch. Log into a match and whine that it's 'unfair' the defending team has you spawn camped on a payload map. See how many go 'Oh! I did not know it was 'unfair!' We'll back up so you can move the payload! After all, we can't win 'unfairly'!'

    You're acting like a 3 year old

A tunnel and mori off first hook is unfair, period.

Don't try and defend it, because it is very unfair.

No. In the end of the day, balance in this game is very important. a 3v1 at 5 gens is not fair what so ever.

    Agree.

In Red Ranks, people play to win. Fun is rarely ever an aspect in there, and challenges are always sidelined to win, since a decent amount of them can be completed in general play. Which is why I come with an explanation. I have had multiple players (Killer and Survivor) complain about such in postgame because people didn't want to farm, and to save people from a waste of time, that is why some people don't want to farm, it's because they want to win. Or because they're just pricks but that's a different subject.

To be honest, the game is there to have fun.

Yes, there are sweaty try hards at red ranks.

But there are also people who understand to have fun (the majority of my main group, a lot of killers I've met, etc.)

And honestly, the people who try and meme and try new things, instead of try harding for rank 1 even if they already have the achievement, are the people getting the most enjoyment out of the game.

You don't have to try hard to win, by the way. Trust me.

Of course, some people do have fun sweating- but those same people also tend to rage a lot. Do you catch my drift?

  • damn

    just

    damn

they're fixing matchmaking though : ) so thats good

  • You need to play both sides before you complain about keys, noed or moris. Period :/

Personally, the devs can remove moris if they also remove keys. I feel that's a fair trade. So long as Devour Hope remains unaffected. Getting those 5 stacks is hard work and if you let the killer get them you deserve to get moried.

I don't want them to remove moris. I simply want them to change moris.

Same with keys. Change them drastically, do not rid of them.

You SHOULD be able to Kill off first hook. If the Killer wants to tilt the power scale his way by burning an ultra rare that's up to him/her. It's the Killer equivalent to SWF and the only direct counter. So unless you plan on getting rid of that, too...

And uh LOL if you think the only counter to a swf is mori off first hook you must be a rank 10 killer, because a good killer can easily counter a swf. Most swfs aren't even that great, and if they are, it's still counter able. It's not the "only direct counter", are you kidding me-

And no, they aren't getting rid of swfs.

Just get good? Like seriously, killers who whine and say they should get rid of swfs, just.. oh my god.

If you SERIOUSLY think the only counter to swfs is a mori and tunnel of first hook then LOL... good luck.
