  • Not interested in listening to a YouTuber telling me what to do.

  • Hey dude, don't slander yourself like that!

  • Haha would also be a nice reminder that you're about to die!!!

  • The only problem with Auto Didact is sometimes you don't get skillchecks. I rather Change 3: Healing another survivor 100% causes a skillcheck.

Bring key. Do gen. 3 man escape. Bad killer stays bad killer.

Tried it yesterday and it was beautiful.

edit: the title looks like I’m running a campaign against faces.

edit2: my boy @Gay_Police_Dept recommended tbagging at the hatch. It is 100% necessary to pull of this sick strat.

You got it the other way around. That's a strategy to get face-camped.

Just a thought by me, but when people comlain about killers using 4 slowdown perks:

its not benefitia for the killer at all!

So what are we talking about?

    Killer runs:

    1. Corrupt Intervention
    2. Pop goes the Weasel
    3. Ruin
    4. Undying

And These perks do not syergise at all.

    So heres an example.

Im a survivor and I spawn in the map next to a generator. The Generator gets blocked off by corrupt intervention.

What am I going to do?

i am walking away to another gen and while im at it I will look out for totems! And the odds are high that the other survivors will also do that.

So If you run corrupt intervention the risk of your ruin/undying getting cleansed is far higher then if you dont run it.

worst case scenario is that you have lost 2 perk slots by cleansing, and then corrupt runs out, wich is 3 perks down.

Survivors know now: you have only one perk left, and after you kick a gen they know theres nothing to worry about in a chase, you are just a vanilla killa now.

So you slowed the game down a bit, but you could have just ran corrupt intervention on his own at this point.

Sure, sometimes it will work, but in my world people look for consistency in a build.

Theres no synergy in this build.

Eh. All four of those perks synergize. not super synergy -- Ruin and PGTW don't immediately synergize. But long term they do. After Ruin goes, if it goes with undying around -- then you have PGTW to knock out the gens they still need to finish. You have early game stall, mid game stall, late game stall. I have never seen a game with CI where the killer did not find a survivor within the first 30 seconds. You'd have to be 4 immersed blendettes to avoid that. If the killer is not incompetent he will find a survivor long before a minute is done.

A lot of newbs see Corrupt Intervention and think it's a bad perk, that survivors just need to hide for two minutes and the killer wasted a perk slot. LOL when you learn how to play the game you'll understand how naive that thinking is. CI is justifiably one of the best perks in the game. Period. It works in almost any killer build. People used to think that CI didn't synergize with Ruin, but look at the current meta. They are run together because they just work.

And this nonsense about your Ruin getting cleansed easy. You do realize that Undying gives you aura reading on totems right?

If you aren't an incompetent killer survivors won't be able to finish 5 gens with Ruin around. It's extremely easy to defend gens with Ruin around, especially if you're using a killer like Spirit or Freddy. By the time they blow up Ruin and Undying they'll be in bad shape, and let's say you still have 2-3 gens left to defend Pop then works its magic making the game even harder for them.

These four perks used in unison are great and really give a huge advantage to the killer.

Not my choice of build but it's definitely a strong lineup.

Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, We're Gonna Live Forever, Aftercare.

I know DS is problematic for some, but I try not to use it offensively, and after the patch, it will be impossible. I still plan to run it for potential end game plays and for the 1/10 chance that the killer tunnels me off hook. Other than that, I think I have a very fair, yet useful/powerful build. WGLF for bloodpoints and helping during slug situations, Dead Hard to maybe get that one extra loop in, and Aftercare for information on my teammates.

What are your thoughts? Does this build scream "toxic/small PP/braindead/crutch perks" survivor to you?

Plus points for Aftercare. Minus points for Dead hard and Decisive Strike. Minus points for not having Iron Will.

  • @Sand said:

I'm a rank 1 killer and survivor but I main ghostface as killer. Lately I've been getting a lot of after the match chat saying that ghostface isn't fair because they "can't look at me" also I can sneak up even if they have spine chill by simply sidestepping and picking them off the gen. Should I start playing a different killer to see if he is that much better? I only play him because the scream movies are my favorite movies but I am tired of all the hate I get just for being him.

None of the stealth killers are OP. If you forced me to pick who's OP the one I'd say OP is actually Wraith, not GF, due to some of his add-ons.

The issue with Ghost Face isn't that he's OP, it's that his reveal mechanics are busted as heck. There are many, many times I'm staring full body Ghost Face right smack dab in the middle of my screen and the reveal won't trigger. And there are equally many times I'm doing a gen and don't care at all and I reveal a ghostface I'm not even looking at behind the gen.

Ghostface is far from OP but his wonky mechanics are a pain in the butt, and it hurts when you're staring him right in the face during a chase and he still gets the Exposed off for the quick down (most good survivors keep their eye on the killer all the time during chase, and many good GF players will cloak and stare during chase to get an instadown)

  • Dunno but I'm pretty sure there reasons are

    1. It's the #1 perk killers complain about
    2. Stats show too many survivors are using it
    3. Internal testing shows it creates too powerful an effect on the match for a single perk

That's what made me make the post in the first place, got bodyblocked by 2 full health survivors guarding 1 injured, it's so annoying and I don't wanna pick instadown killers all the time just to get them out the way

Heaven forbid survivors try to help their teammates.

  • @BitingSea said:

Yeah. It's why I thought that the numbers should be flipped since why would someone want less information as they increase the tier of an information perk?

    You're confused bro.

  • @Adamant_Tepig said:

The only feedback I have to give the devs here is that I think the numbers should be flipped to have your aura revealed to the killer every 30/35/40 seconds instead of the other way around as it was presented. Other than that, it looks really good!

That makes no sense. You are running the perk to get info on the killer. Why would you sabotage yourself?

I didn’t get on here and cry after one game. I’ve played for years, like I said, and determined that Leatherface’s chainsaw is overpowered. Disagree if you want, but I posted this because I have made up my mind after years of evaluation. If you don’t like it, then I don’t know why you commented.

LF was only buffed last year. "Years of evaluation" my butt.

  • @Ohnoes said:

The time is fine. 60s isn't much if you haven't exhausted all nearby loops. Bear in mind that will also be time getting to the survivor not just chase time. The only things wrong with expose is stealth killers that can 99 the expose. A exploit that should be addressed.

99 Expose is one of those issues things that should be fixed.

Everything survivors can 99 has been nerfed with the exception of the exit gates. And killers are still trying to get that nerfed. GF, Oni and Myers 99'ing things needs to be removed as well. 99 Sabo was a much smaller and extremely niche issue frankly but it still got nerfed.

  • Spirit and Freddy are the only killers that need nerfs.

Actually if you ban certain perks from being used on certain killers it works out.

Actually the only perk I want banned from Spirit or Freddy is Ruin + Undying.

Remove those perks from their loadouts and they are fine.

  • @CajunStirfry said:

Leather face should not be able to chainsaw through multiple people at a time. He also shouldn’t be able to use that ability for so long. Hillbilly has a fixed amount of time that is far more reasonable. Thoughts?

Leatherface is a little overtuned right now. The only thing that mitigates this, is that he still has a crucial weakness you can exploit: he doesn't have much mobility.

But his short range lethality is unparalleled. The only one who is comparable is Oni, but Oni is a lot more broken because Oni also has high mobility to go with it.

LF is still weaker than Oni overall but he is far, far too powerful in close range.

  • As Mr. Holdout said Basekit Kindred is a better idea. And it's something the game has needed every since SWF was a thing.

Basekit DS (especially the current one) would be too much for most killers. That's 3-4 free extra chases for the Survivors every game. Some other changes to the base mechanics should be done to heavily penalize tunneling. A severely nerfed version of DS would work but not the current iteration.

  • @Zozzy said:

No thanks. we don't need to buff troll perks that are mostly used by swf.

The killer has a hard enough time already without every hook being sabotaged in their face.

Sabotuer hasn't been used by SWF since like 2018. The multiple sabo nerfs have made Sabo as a strategy absolute junk. Are you even playing the game today or are you remember how it was 2 years ago?

  • @CajunStirfry said:

60 seconds is too long then. It might just feel longer because I am running for my life!

If you are in chase you'll have to deal with it. It's a long time but make it shorter and Haunted Grounds becomes a junk level perk.

That's the game you gotta live with it. Killers should not be impotent and making Haunted Grounds a 30 second perk or something to that effect would make it a 100% trash tier perk.

100% extra speed vs max 33% from botany. Yes i understand that if the killer has your attention it might be a good idea but ffs, the ammount of times the killer is chasing another guy and the guy that I unhook runs to a corner to self heal when i can heal him 4 times faster than he can himself irritates me. Specially because not only he loses time walking away, i lose time chasing this survivor not knowing what he intends to do.

Btw the scenario that you posted is not efficient at all. It's much better let him heal you and do the gen together losing 15% efficiency on the gen speed, but increasing it by 100% with the healing of We'll make it than both perform the action at regular speed.

I use Botany and Desperate Measures. I can selfcare myself pretty fast. not as fast as We'll Make It, but I'm not wasting your time so you can do something productive.

  • @skyguys said:

I've played the game since 2019. Laurie was my second survivor where I unlocked her teachables. Never used OoO because I'm a stealth player...

I might as well use it once...

Believe it or not, OOO is amazing in a stealth build. You just have to know how to use it. It takes the place of Spine Chill as your detector perk. And it's a lot better at it.

  • @CaulDrohn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1923369#Comment_1923369

Ok. But I doubt you would play this more than a few days. Compared to like wasting all your keys bc they might get totally useless. It's might be "en vogue" now, but the OoO change will take months to come. But sure, when there's a change tested on PTB, there might be some increased odds in facing it, you convinced me there.

At least using / abusing OoO takes some practice, so even with increased odds there might be quite some potatoes who use it, so then it won't be as bad as seeing keys after keys (which do not take any particular skill to use, same as old insta heals / BNP).

You're making this more than what the OP said. You're comparing it to the key splurge, to actually being good at it, etc.

It's just that there are legitimately people who have fond memories using OOO in whatever way they like and they're going to miss that when the change happens, so we're just revisiting the perk again while it's still here.

I didn't think it would be a big deal but apparently it is as the OP said, and I too have noticed an uptick in OOO users. Will we keep doing this for months up to the nerf? Probably not as you said. But its happening right now as the OP said. We're just using it while we can, it's our final sendoff for the perk.

  • @Haddix said:

yeah, i agree. i think he's way too simple in design, super outdated.

he doesn't need to be some insane skillshot machine, but giving him more depth is what he needs, or at least EMBRACING the versatility that he already has, and doing more with it.

they're not gonna buff him cause stats, but at least some type of significant change to keep his current appeal, but making him a better and more interesting killer, would be really nice.

    Bbbbbbttttt.

The problem with this game is that the killers are getting too complex with too many powers and some of them are overtuned like Freddy.

Myers is great because he is super simple but has so many ways to build him and he is fun to play and fun to play against!

Don't touch Myers and don't screw with his add-ons.

  • @Jarol said:

The truth is that it is one of the oldest killers of DbD and the truth is that it is very outdated, they have not touched it in a long time and I think they should add a special ability to its power that is not just stalking all the time or correct your addons.

Don't touch Myers or there will be hell to pay. He is the best killer in the game don't change a thing!

  • It doesn't need to be nerfed it needs to be removed.

  • Same reason Killers ragequit. They been getting smashed all night long.

It's more common for survivors because the game is generally harder for survivors.

  • @CajunStirfry said:

Exposed should not last longer than 30-60 seconds. It lasts so long that the killer can easily down all four players. Has anyone seen anything about them nerfing that perk?

    Which perk?

Iron Maiden lasts like 10 seconds? (gonna be buffed)

    Haunted Grounds lasts 60 seconds

NoEd lasts until you cleanse the totem.

  • @chargernick85 said:

Don't have that problem a whole lot in red ranks but when you get down to the final two survivors there's times where they hop in lockers waiting for the other to die and obviously that causes a problem especially if they're not just sitting in one the whole time and they're bouncing from Locker to Locker

This one is a legit issue. When it's down to two survivors they are going to die unless they hide and make a play for the hatch. If both of the survivors are patient and want the win bad this could go on for ages. This largely only happens in red ranks though mid-rank survivors don't do this.

  • I don't know why Saboteur still has such limits. With the current state it's impossible to do the abusive 4-man Sabo Squads of yore, so there is no need to kick this perk while it's down so much.

  • Just use Whispers, Stridor, etc. and those things on the side of your head you forgot about your ears. You have all the tools you need to find stealthy survivors.

Imagine a killer complaining about Stealth of all things. This game has nerfed stealth so bad that I find it crazy you have problems finding survivors. They are just crouching in the bushes that is the easiest kind of survivor team to smash.

Yamaoka is so bright and clean today compared to two years ago there is no problem seeing anything on that map. The only map where it's even remotely hard to see anything is the bottom level of The Game. Everywhere else is so bright it's painfully easy to see anyone trying to crouch. That includes Backwater Swamp which for some reason a lot of killers still have problems finding survivors in.

  • I thought Cheryl was fine. It's Cybil I have a problem with.

  • In my experience Neas don't run meta. Usually they run Urban Evasion and squat in corners. Bill players are the same usually.

I don't know why but Bill and Neas tend to be the ones who use Urban Evasion. Nea I get but Bill?

  • Lots more you can use than just those. I just gave some samples of builds I use when I go stealth.

Calm Spirit to be honest isn't that good. It's extremely situational. What's TEC?

  • @CaulDrohn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/224427/the-worst-thing-about-the-ooo-change

I highly, HIGHLY doubt that there will be any noticeable increase. Opposed to the other things you mentioned, OoO is a perk. It is bought three times in the bloodweb and thats it, compared to items/addons/offerings you had to buy one-by-one. You cannot use it all up like you can with the others in fear they will be useless. You will just stop using it, but it's not "wasted bp".

He's not wrong. I went on an OOO splurge last night because I thought this is going to be the last time I get to play this perk, so I might as well play it while I can. I haven't used OOO in years but I used it last night just because of the sentimental thought of losing it forever.

There were more than a few other players who thought the same. I ran into three survivors running OOO last night during my OOO binge so two of us were running it.

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

OoO + Tier I Mettle of Man is better than current OoO, once survivors hit 3 stacks and heal.

  • You're talking to a bunch of kids who find pressing a button to close a door while being hunted by a teddy bear as fun.

  • And I just realized this is another necro.

  • If you're having trouble being tunneled by killers try using a juke build so you can disengage from the killer.

The best juke build is: Iron Will, Lithe, Dance With me, Quick and Quiet.

All perks are available with base characters except Lithe, which needs Feng Min. Easy build to get and will greatly increase your chances of survival when being tunneled.

Oh no not at all i want is to escape tunneling killers with good stealth perks

If you are looking to juke and escape chases what you need aren't stealth perks per se but juking perks. Try this:

    • Iron Will, Lithe, Dance With me, Quick and Quiet
  • @Leguś said:

Sole Survivor is probably gonna be the only perk that's going to be in true needs to be changed.

Even with current iteration of Object of Obsession this perk was border-line useless. Either you were tunneled at the start of the match or teammates died and making a match the 3v1. And in 3v1 the killer generally is gonna win unless it happened in too late stages of the match.

Sole Survivor used to be percentage based too but like Enduring's problem... Different aura-reading ranges made perk feel inconsistent.

Question: How would you make Sole Survivor a viable (not meta) perk?

Sole Survivor needs to be balanced around people dying. Can't get around that that's the core concept of the perk. As such it will never be meta unless you give it a crazy power, because it relies on people dying to activate, and if a killer gets that first kill before 3 gens are done you've basically already lost. If you only get it to activate stage 1 by the time it's almost endgame the perk will always be junk.

Perhaps a rework from the concept towards a perk that makes it more likely you'll survive to be the last survivor standing makes more sense.

With 4 survivors it gives you Aura Read Blocking up to 72m. First death it goes down to 48m, 2nd death 24m, when you're all alone the benefit is gone and now you're the Sole Survivor.

Not a clue 😂, it's an iridescent so I assume it's powerful. Sorry if it's weak, nerfing "brand new part" is necessary though. I don't actually run flashlights so idk....LOL

So you admit you have no clue what you're talking about. Figures.

  • They also need to buff Lucky Break so it works all trial. And Distortion buff when?!

I'd also like to point that the main benefit of Fixated isn't the scratch marks. It's the extra 20% walk speed. That gives you the ability to juke many experienced killers because they don't expect you to be able to make it without the extra 20%.

  • For Survivor right?

    Anything like these.

    1. Urban Evasion, Fixated, Quick and Quiet, Iron Will
    2. Spine Chill, Resilience, Lithe, Iron Will
    3. Bond, Better Together, Prove Thyself, Iron Will
    4. Object of Obsession, Lithe, Quick and Quiet, Iron Will
    5. Plunderer, Appraisal, Left Behind, Iron Will

  • It's not the killer it's the player. A killer with solid fundamentals playing Wraith is harder to beat than a hotshot using Spirit but has no idea what he's doing.

So in the last stream the devs showed us an idea for a perk rework in the future and mentioned that they would be inclines to do this more if we would keep discussions civil.

Not 2 days later and I have already seen several video's on certain channels where they keep bashing the devs and calling this "cringe" and "condecending"

You know the channels I'm talking about. The ones who post more video's bashing the devs then actual gameplay video's. The ones who are just waiting like hungry papparazi to catch the devs saying anything wrong

And while they aren't perfect devs and mess up from time to time can we please acknowledge that we aren't the best community either and that their lack of previous communication is partially our fault too.

They are reaching out a hand to us. So can we do an effort to grab that hand and not snap at it like a frustrated dog

Sorry if this sounded mean but having seen some of the reaction video's really frustrated me

"Civil Discussion" and "Dead by Daylight" are oxymorons, unfortunately.

  • That about sums it up.

Except killer can open it instantaneously. :)

The traps take away too long and she barely has a music cue. Plus while worrying about traps it's hard to do gens. I'm kinda ranting but she is pretty unfair to play against. In fact most of the base game killers, i don't have a problem with. A few of the DLC ones seem to be OP which is BS considering that you have to buy them

    This is just your inexperience.

After a few thousand hours doing gens with the traps on your head isn't stressful at all. The traps do waste time but it all depends on the RNG. Sometimes you can get them off in less than ten seconds. sometimes you never get them off and your head comes off. And I've escaped many a trial with the trap still on my head.

Pig's power isn't very powerful. She's scary for new survivors but experiecned survivors don't fear her. We do, however, fear Pig Mains who tend to be solid and really good at the game.
