Saboteur could use a slight buff.

Pretty much the title.

As it is now, the cooldown is 90/75/60 when it should be more like 60/45/30.

Or at the worst, 75/60/45 but a 60 second cooldown to sabo ONE hook at tier 3 is absurd for a perk that barely gets used.

But what do yall think.

tl;dr (even tho it's not a long post) Slightly decrease Saboteur's cooldown please

  • How about this: 30 second cooldown if you stop mid-sabotage for any reason; full 60 second cooldown if you successfully sabotage?

Any buff is a buff. Many times I unhooked someone and proceeded to press M1 to heal, only for sabo to activate and go on CD. :P

Honestly, I think you could go as far down as 15 second cooldown for a failed sabotage. It's not like sabo squads wouldn't still just use actual toolboxes anyways.

    Godspeed :D

  • Also it takes 3 seconds even though it says 2.5 in the game

The worst is when you try to heal someone you just unhooked but they move and you start sabotaging the hook they just got pulled off from.

    😥

  • I don't know why Saboteur still has such limits. With the current state it's impossible to do the abusive 4-man Sabo Squads of yore, so there is no need to kick this perk while it's down so much.

  • No thanks. we don't need to buff troll perks that are mostly used by swf.

The killer has a hard enough time already without every hook being sabotaged in their face.

How often do you see 4 people all running Saboteur?

And on top of that, on most levels, there are about 5-7 hooks within walking distance when you pick someone up so even if the remaining 3 people were to each get a hook (while not doing gens or whatever else), there'd still be hooks close enough to walk to. A 60 second cooldown is just too long

That's slightly better. Especially because like someone else mentioned, half the times I waste Saboteur trying to heal someone I just unhooked and then try to cancel it

Sabotuer hasn't been used by SWF since like 2018. The multiple sabo nerfs have made Sabo as a strategy absolute junk. Are you even playing the game today or are you remember how it was 2 years ago?

    Keep telling yourself that.

Removing the objective from the killer is never a good thing to make popular.

Can we give killers a perk that cuts off a generator for 60 seconds after kicking it? its the same thing.

It doesn't need a buff. people still get saves using it LEAVE IT ALONE.

And yes, i was around when survivors sabotaged the entire map and the only hope was to iron grasp into the basement.

  • Saboteur should be equal to or faster than toolboxes, not the other way around.

I feel like that should be flipped full for 60 canceled for 30 but I'm ok with thya

Edit nvm I'm dumb that's exactly what you said

You are haveing issues hooking people how I feel like almost every corner I turn there is a hook

you want to buff this then give killers a perk that blocks any gen they kick for 60 seconds.

i literally just played a sabo swf.. they prevented 4 hooks using 2 survivors with toolboxes. and you think this perk doesn't work?!?!?!

  • Honestly Sabatuer shouldn’t have a cooldown. It’s not a great perk for what it does, the cooldown just makes it worse. Self-care does the same thing that an item does without a cooldown, so why does Sabatuer?

    No.

I’ve bought this up a few times in the past.

Saboteur is not meant to be used on its own. You’re meant to use it with a toolbox. Saboteurs ability to sabotage hooks without a toolbox is just meant to be an insurance policy for if a toolbox runs out of charges mid sabo. The reason it has such a long cool down is to prevent unlimited sabo from being abused all match long.

a 30-45 second cooldown isn't abusable. At most, that's 1 hook per chase.

    There are 4 survivors.

1 hook is all it takes given the right circumstances.

Combined with body blocking, that could mean every successfully ended chase ends with a survivor wiggling free.

It’s one the reason toolboxes have limited charges. To limit how often that denial occurs.

Anyway, my point still stands about how misunderstood Saboteur is. It’s not meant to be used on its own. It’s meant to be used with a toolbox, with the perk acting as back up when a toolbox runs out of charges.

I disagree. To me, that's like saying Self Care is meant to be used with a Medkit.

It may be more efficient with the medkit, but it's there so you don't have to bring a medkit at all.

Likewise, Saboteur isn't necessarily meant to be used WITH a toolbox but in place of one

Lol, Self Care IS MEANT to be used with a med kit, for exactly the same reason: insurance, so that the perk takes over if/when a med kit runs out of charges in the middle of self healing.
