You're using up 2 perk slots to block your aura being read from up to 24 meters after 1 survivor's dead and you're in a 3v1... I'm not seeing how this combo is good. Also what would you want to block your aura from? The only perks I could think of being useful for are I'm All Ears (maybe like 5 people in the entire world use this perk) and Nurse's (which is also not a popular perk anymore, and spine chill does a much better job of telling you if the killer's close and is useful all the time)
Calling it "good" isn't really the point. It's just a fun thing to use, not everyone plays this game min-maxed and optimized. You are correct in saying that that's not exactly 'good' but I would run it for that.

It was fixed some time back. I reported the bug a few times and it eventually got fixed. It went unnoticed for a long time because practically nobody uses it.

That's a bug then and needs to be reported. It's an aura reading perk and should work with open handed.
Not a bug. Open Handed works with Aura-Reading perks, not Aura-Blocking persk.

So with the Nurse projected to be in part of the new tome; I decided to spend the week learning how to play her... currently I run the standard build Infectious/Sloppy/PGTW/BBQ with double recharge addons but i've come across a few issues and i'm not sure if i'm just doing something wrong.
1) Blinking randomly stops working and gives an infinite audio bug loop that forces you to let go of M2 and wait a few seconds before being able to use it again.
2) After blinking i'm not able to immediately M1 at times and I have to wait a second before M1'ing again.
3) When attempting to blink up (knowing its an empty space above me) sometimes she just blinks straight.
4) When attempting to blink through an object; even though I know im holding it long enough (ie a pallet or wall).. sometimes it just refuses to blink through it and I end up blinking right into the wall/pallet.
Sounds about right. You are playing it wrong and she is broken. Both statements are correct.

Doesn't do a thing for me, that's not how I use OOO.

Spine Chill doesn't tell you where the killer is coming from. It's not as powerful as you think. You could run away only to run smack dab into the killer's face.
Spine Chill is perfectly fine.
Glad your not on the balance team. 8m range for Spine Chill? Get out of here.

Yes, that's possible. However, sometimes you know for sure that the survivor doesn't run BT. Either they have unsafely unhooked you earlier (this happened to me one day. The same person farmed me off the hook twice and well...that was a quick match for me) or you see them doing it to someone else.
It would still often be worth the risk just to take unhooking and hope they have BT but at least the one hanging on hook had some control. It would discourage hook farming and unnecessarily reckless saves just because the rescuer runs BT (sometimes the killer just eats BT and downs you anyway)
If it was for example a different looking hook animation, others would see right away they can't unhook you yet and wouldn't get hurt so easily. This could also be used as telling others "don't feed the facecamper. Do gens and leave"
Easy solution is a notification pops up when BT survivor comes near the hook letting you know you are now in "BT Aura Radius" so you don't freak out.

I am not interested in the DS change as I don't use DS.
For OOO what I don't like is how it removes all control from the survivor. Perks are supposed to be an advantage for a survivor, not a disadvantage. Current OOO is a lot like No Mither -- a big huge disadvantage for some small benefit.
To be honest the new proposed OOO is trash tier on the level of No Mither, and will see about as much use.

Actually you probably do have some control over it to a small degree.
Distortion, for starters. Lockers as well. Very likely you're going to see the perk cooldown effect to accurately pinpoint when your aura is being revealed.
But OoO has always been a chaser/agitator perk. You're not trying to be stealthy. If you were, you'd be using Distortion.
As written you have zero control over it. And no, I am not going to jump into a locker every 30 seconds. I'm not Dwight.

It went from an oppressive perk against set up killers to a counter perk to auras which Laurie already had as part of her mechanics(Sole Survivor).
I also just want to point-out how much thematically better this version is for Laurie as a character:
The current version rewarded you for stalking the killer(you can always see the killer's aura but the killer only see yours if you're caught staring)
The new version lets you know when you're being stalked from the shadows which makes more sense for a stalker attack survivor.
I must quote and stress this, as it is very important.
OOO as written right now does not work with Sole Survivor. If Sole Survivor hides your aura then OOO will never trigger. So basically you just turned Laurie into a crappy survivor whose perks don't even work with each other. Since you are nerfing both OOO and DS that makes Laurie a pile of junk, just like Ash.
Would like to see a buff to Sole Survivor at least. Maybe increase the range per dead teammate to 30m instead of 24m, so that it's useful at least even with just one teammate dead. And please let Sole Survivor work with OOO if you're going that far. It makes no sense for two of her perks not to work with each other.

This proposed change is nothing short of amazing. Here´s why:
The main problems with the current Object of Obsession are
1)Too much value for little risk if used in a team
2)Far too strong against stealth Killers and especially Trapper
3)Encourages unhealthy gameplay on both sides - Object is often used to annoy and BM Killers, Killers in turn often Tunnel and camp the Object to combat these issues
4)No viable counterplay options for Killers, except being a top tier KIller like Spirit which are the only ones that can capitalise on the alleged downside
With the proposed changes, Object becomes more valuable for solo players. The base, non-obsession effect should be of great use to combat a number of Killer meta perks, most notably BBQ, Nurses Calling, Undying, Retribution, I´m all Ears. If used by a team, it´s great to quickly determine aura reading perks on the Killer side and adapt accordingly, making it still a great choice for SWF.
If the user happens to be the obsession, they still get very good aura reading, the strength of which is now much more reasonable ( there is no aura reading perk nearly as strong in this regard as current Object, none is even remotely close). This removes the oppression it embodies towards Trapper and stealth reliant Killers, as well as removing the obligation to tunnel (or as some people do, ignore) the Object, both of which reduce the toxicity on either side.
Thank you for coming up with such an elegant, balanced solution for something many people percieve as one of the most urgent issues that need to be addressed. I hope the feedback you recieve on this inclines you to include the community more frequently. I hope everyone behaves, fingers crossed.
Why do people still think OOO is strong against Stealth Killers? It isn't. OOO was nerfed a long time ago so you can't see stealth killers with it.
-
@SocialDistomancy said:
spine chill is still the one to worry about for stealth killers since the proposed new object only activates once a minute on average iirc, while spine chill is constant but doesn't give directional queues like the aura would briefly. I suppose combined they might be a powerful combo sometimes, but, they also burn two perk slots out and limit the rest of their options.
Stealth killers don't need to worry about OOO really. Not only did it give notice to survivors, but current OOO doesn't even work on stealth killers. You can't see T1 Myers with it at all and it doesn't work on GF or Pig while they are using their powers.
I don't understand why stealth killers are even afraid of OOO? The devs literally nerfed it so Stealth Killers aren't seen by it.
-
@Crowman said:
I don't see a problem with OoO being risky against stealth killers. It's a perk that needs to be high risk/high reward.
The current OOO is already extremely high risk, high reward.
The new OOO is just high risk. And it is also trash.
-
I do not like the new OOO.
First, it removes all sort of skillful play on the part of the Survivor. There are many ways to use OOO and some of them require skill to pull off, like using it in a stealth build.
Turning it into a perk that just automatically fires off every 30 seconds removes all skill from it. It just happens. Unless you are the type to get into a locker every 30 seconds (I know Dwight is already getting a hardon for this perk) basically this perk is just going to keep going off forever until someone else DS's the killer, and that removes all manner of skillful decision making when managing the killer's knowledge of your whereabouts.
Worse, the new version cedes all control to the killer. The killer is the one that determines which aura reading perks he has and basically now that the perk activates whenever your aura is revealed, now the power to activate the perk comes from the killer rather than from you. I get that after scouting the killer's perks (like figuring out he has Nurse's calling for instance) gives you the card to heal while in TR to see where the killer is, but overall it just feels bad that you are losing most of your control over the perk. This just feels too much like a gifthorse for the killer, which should never be the case for a perk. A perk is supposed to be an advantage for you, not for your opponent.
This also just makes it plain unsuitable for Stealth builds, which weren't even the problem. OOO is problematic due to SWF comm abuse; its usage as a stealth perk in Solo Q has never been an issue, but this change completely guts the non-problematic usage while still allowing for SWF abuse.
My recommendation:
* Take the current iteration but keep the "you must be looking at the killer to reveal aura" for the 30 second reveal. This way stealth player can still make use of the perk and have control of when it activates. It'll still be significantly weaker than the current version and will still remove the problem of SWF abuse.
-
@gendoss said:
Something that has always held me back from using OoO is how toxic it can be and how annoying it can be for killers. If the proposed version were to go live would killers still think it would be toxic to use OoO? To me it almost seems like a better version of alert.
The old OOO isnt toxic unless you abuse it in SWF. There are ways to use OOO in solo Q that are pretty benign for the killer.
The new OOO to be honest is pretty bad. The lack of control on your end as the survivor makes it a junk perk to be honest. In fact you are giving the killer and your teammates control.
It's the killer who'll be activating aura perks to detect you. And your teammates will be the ones to take Obsession off of you.
I personally think the new version is trash.
I rather wait for the Distortion buff instead of using this if I just want to Scout the killer's perks.

Because most SWF with Object aren't giving MLG callouts.. It's simple; Most Object users want the attention.. so dont chase them? Put the pressure on the other survivors and force the object user to run into a vulnerable area. And why should they have to? Because it's part of the game... "That's like saying why should survivors have to learn how to run a killer? why cant they just stealth around the map without killers using aura reading perks to find them"
Ironically I use OOO to stealth around the map and avoid running the killer. I'm not good at looping so it's easy to get me. If I use OOO to hide and avoid the killer it's much easier for me and I survive longer.
-
I actually wanted Ruin nerfed not Undying but I guess this is fine.
-
I finally lost to a Rank 1 spirit. But as you can see I did well even with an OOO Stealth Build. And actually I almost got out, I had fished a key but just couldn't find the hatch. Was running the spirit around a lot with the lead I had but it was The Game and it was so dark down there I couldn't find the hatch lol. And this is with one guy throwing the match and suiciding and one David just camping around farming unhooks.
OOO Stealth is very effective. I know you're dubious but it works. I've been playing this way all morning and escaped 7 out of 10 games. (2 were AFK myers so that was actually 7/8 games escaped).

Doubt it.

What's the problem? If they want to vault spam just run over and hit them. If not ignore them, they're not doing gens so hit the one that is.

Yeah I've never understood that. But killers being in a much better position than before might not be the cause of that, i refuse to believe that so many killers are masochists. I think one big cause is that as years pass a bigger playerbase has grinded everything they can, and killers get BPs much faster.
Hmm that's an interesting take, so basically you're saying since killers progress through the game/grind faster they end up being "done" with the game faster and leave, unlike survivors who stay around longer still grinding? That's an interesting theory and I think you're probably correct, and this is probably part of the answer.

I wouldn't say its difficulty that stopped me from playing as much. The game IS a lot, A LOT easier than it was when I started killer. It's just become boring. No new mechanics really in a couple of years. Every so often a new killer with a new playstyle but if you don't like it? 3 months minimum before a potentially fun one.
3 of the last 4 killers have been painfully dull to play and a nightmare to play against.
I'd say bad killer/map design and stagnant gameplay is whats driving me away.
Well there is that. Other people have noted that killers just get bored of the game faster not necessarily due to difficulty, but because of various reasons. Survivors have the same problem, but since they can play with friends they tend tos tay around longer.

Ehm no. I remember back the old times, when you were a red rank survivor, waiting in a long queue time until facing most likely a Hillbilly and sometimes Nurse. Back then the game was harder for killers and the killer player base most likely lower than now. What changed since then, that the overall playerbase got bigger and that many changes lead people to adapt more and play more efficient in general. Maybe the ratio kinda got screwed back then. But I remember also time when you had long killer queues like around the ghostface releases.
That ratio is mostly more of an up and down. Caused by all kinds of things. My survivor and killer queue times e.g. heavily depend on the time of the day. And it makes sense that the survivor ratio is higher in the evening hours, because that's the time when everybody is home, that only plays SWF. I honestly think even those current queue times are the most logical or natural for this game, if I think about it.
How far back was this? I started playing in 2018 I think and when I started killer queues were horrible and survivor queues were all under a minute.
But yeah Billy was all over the place he was one of the meta killers with his BBQ Billy build. I hated those matches they would end in like 2 minutes with everyone dead.
But I am telling you the killer base was not lower. The survivor queues were instant and killer queues took forever. Killer queues were consistently bad from around 2018 and 2019. 2020 wasn't so bad.

Heard of Wrecker's yard ? The basement is in the middle of the map. The killer can get anyone there from a very big portion of the map. WIth the 2 basement perks probably from any spot on that map. With the same 2 basement perks a killer can bring a surivor to the basement from quite far on many maps where the basement can spawn in a building that is usually in the middle and there are MANY such maps.
Wrecker's Yard is one of those stupid maps I have wondered why BHVR hasn't reworked it yet. It seriously needs to be bigger. It's a horrible map for survivors. If the killer actually using a Basement build with Agitation and Iron Grasp lol every down is going to end up in the basement.

On Killer -- Spies from the Shadows.
On Survivor -- hmm not sure killers don't tend to complain in chat unlike Survivors. Usually it's my fellow survivors who complain when they see the crap loadout I went to battle with.
Killers do their complaining on the forums, not in the ingame chat.
-
Are you sure that's not just latency? When I try it I can activate it all the time as long as I am at a palette and have 50% struggle when the killer picks up.

At least don't nerf the DS. It's an ocasional perk, it's not used always. And I don't want to lose 1 minute doing nothing just because I used this perk to save me from tunelers and campers. This perk is for those killers who don't know how to play this game and only tunnel someone. If a killer doesn't tunnel this perk don't activate. It's not my fault that the killer plays toxic. I'm not supposed to lose 1 minute for their toxic play.
It's fine dude its just DS. If you only use it occasionally why you so upset if they nerf it?
I don't use DS at all so the nerf doesn't affect me at all. Other than teammates potentially dying more than usual and thus indirectly getting me killed. As such I am having a happy, sunny day amidst the news of all this DS nerfing.
(and in fact what affects me more is the OOO nerf rather than the DS nerf)
-
Most OOO users aren't using it for stealth. They are using it to draw your attention and loop you. I'm doing the exact opposite. I'm using OOO to stealth and to knock gens out.
Here's my last game. The other thread got closed lol but just so you know that it works even against higher level opponents. Matchmaking still wonky best match I got was purple but point is what I outlined works. I don't know what else to say. You're dubious but this works for me, and it has worked for others as well. Like I said I reached Rank 1 with this method it is pretty strong and it works.
Also I've never said its braindead -- like I said you need to know what you are doing and it takes skill to stealth in this game. Just as much, if not more, than looping actually. It's easy to do once you know how to do it but there is definitely a learning curve and I never said most survivors do this. Like I said, only few survivors can stealth at a high level and even fewer use OOO.
Most use Spine Chill or Bond for this slot in their build. I'm one of the weirdos who uses OOO and Aftercare instead. OOO has many benefits over Spine Chill, including knowing where the killer is coming from instead of just knowing they're coming. Knowing where they're coming form makes a huge difference in evasion.
You should try it more. As a stealth player while OOO is still the way it is, try using it again and try what I'm doing. It's not that hard. It can be done. I just posted a bunch of games where I pulled it off. 2 of them were against low rank killers but basically I haven't died once using this method since I went back to it. It is very effective. (I usually die 4 out of 5 games no matter what rank I go up against)
The new change does mess with what I'm doing, because 1.) You no longer control when you peek at the killer, and 2.) it activates regardless of where you are, so if you are close to the killer trying to do a juke and it pops killer knows where you are and your juke is screwed. It activates regardless of what direction you are looking, from the wording. it doesn't say at all that you need to be looking at the killer for the aura reveals.
OOO is not a heavy weight tied to your ankle as you suggest. Since it only works outside the killer's TR once he spots you you can still use the usual jukes with Fixated and Urban Evasion to get away. Or just loop him normally if you want, but stealth players should prefer to juke when possible. This wastes a lot of the killer's item as he is searching where he saw you, only that you aren't there anymore and slinked away to the next gen already.
EDIT: here's another match against a purple rank (sorry last two matches were green again so I didn't want to post them). I fished a key in this one. Its an effective strategy if you know how to do it right. Normally I'd be the one dead there because I'm not particularly good at looping. But because OOO lets me keep tabs on the killer it is so much easier to avoid them altogether and this just keeps me alive. This killer wasn't half bad he was actually pretty good but I was able to run him around a lot -- since you know where he's coming from you can start running early and that puts you in a good position for a chase. If the killer makes the mistake of chasing you that's a lot of time wasted just catching up, and you can still juke him after. haven't run into any red ranks since I switched builds for some reason. Not sure why, just a good night I guess.

Well I'm not saying I'm invincible. I lose a lot even with this build. I have said many times I'm not very good at this game, my escape rate is close to like 20%. But I tend to lose a lot less than when I use OOO, my escape rate goes up to like 33%. It's a strong perk in stealth builds. One of the strongest actually. Just finished another match. In last 3 matches since I switched back to OOO I escaped twice but that's more due to the wonky matchmaking. The other match was an AFK Myers. But strong killers who know what they're doing will still more often than not kill me. But OOO tends to save my bacon because it keeps me away from the killers so I can focus on doing gens. OOO is amazing for gen jockeys and you can use the gen to hide while keeping tabs on the killer.

The problem with ooo happens to be in a SWF setting & midwich. People with comms; the object player gives location of the killer to his teammates. It’s Giving them a one up in the match.
I played against an ooo(maybe swf) on midwich. I couldn’t Catch him the whole match.
solo que is fine.
Like I've said. The issue is in SWF. In Solo Q and the way I use it (as a detector perk ala Spine Chill) it's not broken.

Map offerings are working.
It's not 100% chance but very close. I have never used a map offering and not gone to where I want to, unless someone else also played a map offering or a counter offering.
The green hand offering cancels all map offerings.

Those make sense, and I have seen that a little bit, but mostly when survivors are healing in front of me it's after a pallet stun, and instead of gaining distance they will heal on the other side of the pallet and only run after I am in animation to kick it
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1920559#Comment_1920559
It's not a bother to me; many times I find it funny, but I was just wondering out of curiosity.
No that's one of the the optimal places to wait during chase. After dropping a palette, unless it's an unsafe palette you should always wait to check what the killer is going to do. If you aren't breaking the palette Survivor has to wait to see where you go, whether left or right and react accordingly. If you are kicking the palette then that tells them what to do as well. If you are gonna try to mindgame them (like as Spirit) that's another thing as well. After stun is one of those points where you wait to see what the killer does.
-
I wish they'd up the range of SS a bit. So that it's useful even with just one token.
I mean nobody uses the perk (except me) and it's consistently rated as one of the worst perks in the entire game. Would be great to see it get a little love. Even just a 30m range buff per dead teammate would at least make it nice to use even with just one guy dead.

Hahaha good one you're one of those newbs who has no idea what you can do with OOO, aren't you?
Just finished a game with OOO. Yeah killer was low rank (crappy matchmaking) but if you know what you're doing and can outplay the killer it's possible to use OOO and ghost the killer the entire match. As long as the killer isn't sufficiently better OOO is a huge help to any solo Q survivor and can help you survive all the way to the end.
Funny thing apparently someone else had the same idea as me he also went in with OOO.
-
It gives every killer tons of BP so you can buy tons of OP addons to slaughter survivors with.
Any questions?
-
Actually it'll have zero synergy with Sole Survivor.
Sole survivor prevents your aura from ever being shown to the killer.
New OOO only shows killer aura if your aura is shown to killer. So it'll never proc while in SS range.
I hope in wrong and BHVR thought of that so it procs when your aura is supposed to show, but doesnt show if you have an ability to blck the aura read.
-
No that's a tactical option. And an efficient one at that.
During chase survivor should always be looking at killer as much as they can. Also in chase there are points on tiles where you have to wait to see what the killer is doing, so you can react and mindgame them or otherwise get the better of them and extend the chase further or even juke the killer.
At those junctions instead of just twiddling your thumbs you can selfcare or use a medkit so you aren't waisting your time. It's not done to BM it's done for the sake of efficiency. If you wanted to BM you have better options, like teabagging.
If the chase lasts long enough (not likely unless the killer is an absolute newb) you might beable to heal yourself entirely doing this. More likely you win the chase and killer gives up or you juke the killer, and now you can heal up to full while saving some precious seconds.

Expect to see an increase in BT users because another downside that no one is realizing.. This essentially means that if a killer has 2 people hooked in the basement it's now a death trap for them.
Survivor A goes down into the basement for the save but gets hit before unhooking; Survivor A saves Survivor B but then gets downed. Survivor B attempts to unhook Survivor C and then gets downed. Now Survivor B doesn't have DS anymore.
Now you might say "Leave them and run out.. heal and come back".. But the cycle will just repeat itself if you even get a chance to come back; barring the death timer or if you can even make it out without being downed again.
There won't be an increase in BT users, BT users are already extremely common.
Basement has always been a death trap. If the killer has 2 people hooked in the basement he has already basically won. Even if he isn't using Monstrous Shrine!
Nothing new here.

We all know there are perks on both sides [Killer/survivor] That we as a community consider to be GOD TIER. Survivors have perks like [DS, BT, Iron will, Lithe] Killers have perks like [BBQ, Infectious Fright, Ruin, A Nurses Calling], The problem is there is so many perks that are flat out garbage. Tell me survivors, when was the last time you used perks like [Open handed, Diversion, Buckle up] Killers when was the last time you used [Mad grit, Overwhelming Presence, Mind Breaker] Most will say the latter is very few far between.
Now I'm not saying there isn't a time nor a place for these perks but when. Most matches you will use the more accepted "god tier" perks. So all that out of the way here is what i really want to say.
1) do we need 3 perks per survivor/killer
2) do we really need 4 perk slots (This would add more weight to what you bring into the match)
3) do we really need tiers for perks. Why not just have one flat out stat per perk. (easier to balance)
I know people are going to hate this post because of #2 but honestly I have seen people 4k with 2 perks. Even i have 4k with one perk, so its not like 4 perk slots are truly needed.
For the record I just used Open-Handed last night.
And since it's getting a buff I'll be using it even more in the future.
Tons of people use The Pebble. Buckle Up though that perk is bonafide trash.
Most matches I never use the God Perks (except Iron Will and BBQ) I'm just non-conformist that way.
I also agree tiers for perks need to be removed.

Thats good to know. I just wanna know why is that the case?
Uniformity. This is the reason the devs always cite for these perks.
It is better if it's standardized how the perk works. Some attacks should not work with Exposed anyway they would be too strong. Imagine if Huntress Hatchets worked with Exposed. Basically one shot sniping everyone from a distance. It's like Pink Hatchet in perk form.

Im not sure if I could get a response from an actual developer or something like that but the other day I noticed that blight doesn't seem to one shot during any exposed period if you are using a rush?
Is this supposed to happen? If you use dragons grip successfully you get a free down but I don't think it makes sense to turn blight into an m1 killer when you want to punish survivors for things like dragons grip or haunted grounds.
If this feature is intended why is it like that? Blights rush is basically a basic attack.
Exposed only works on M1 basic attacks. It never works on killer special power attacks.

LOL you got your money's worth dude you been playing the game with Laurie's original DS for the last what? 4 years? Give it a rest.

LOL just because you have no idea how to use current OOO in a stealth build doesn't mean it can't be used in a stealth build.
I don't know if you meant that personally towards the person you were replying too or in general but you can't assume how people play around with the perk while never seeing it with your eyes.
Well obviously I was referring to the person I was replying to. Duh.
I don't know why you even bothered replying like that? I don't assume how people use OOO. I am describing how I use OOO.

It's not rocket science. You use OOO as a detector perk in place of say Spine Chill. You know where the killer is so you know when they're coming and know when to get out of dodge. And more importantly you control when you are peeking at the killer. Basically you go about your business in stealth mode using the usual stealth perks (Iron Will, Urban Evasion, Fixation, Q&Q, Dance With Me, etc.) and are constantly playing with your perspective facing away from the killer. You peek at the killer side very now and then in brief spurts to keep your eyes on him while you are doing gens busting totems or whatever.
It takes some getting used to but it is easy to do and surprisingly effective. Most of the time killer won't see you because he's facing the wrong direction while you are peeking, or in chase, or whatever.
Just because none of the streamers do it and it's not meta doesn't mean it doesn't work. And actually it's good that it's not meta because killers don't expect it or understand it, and so they don't know how to counter it.
I'm not the only one who uses OOO like this over the years I've talked to people here use OOO the same way. It's rare (playing high-level stealth in this game is rare as it is) but there are people who do it. Obviously not you, but others do as well.

This would be incorrect; you do not pass go, and do not collect $200.00. If anything this change makes the Perk better for a so-called "stealth" Survivor. It provides you with information that was formerly a guess at best. Since you can see the Killer if/when the Killer can see you, it allows you to accurately identify if the Killer has Barbecue & Chili, Nurse's Calling, Bitter Murmur, and many others simply by making note of when the auras trigger. Did someone just get hooked? Barbecue & Chili. Are you self caring and now you and the Killer can see one another? Nurse's Calling. You get the idea. Knowing is half the battle, as we learned from G.I. Joe. Knowing what is going to allow the Killer to see auras allows you to take the appropriate, stealthy counter play actions with certainty.
What you stated was nonsensical because you cannot be a "stealth" Player using OoO in its current state because the Killer can always find you. The only way it works for stealth is if you are abusing it for OTHER people by using yourself as a lure and telling your SWF where to go while you go the opposite.
LOL just because you have no idea how to use current OOO in a stealth build doesn't mean it can't be used in a stealth build. OOO is really strong in stealth builds if survivor knows what he's doing. I got to Rank 1 using OOO in Solo Q as a stealth player. It's that good.
What you said makes new OOO better for Scouting, not for Stealthing. Basically it takes the role of Distortion. New OOO is not good for stealth builds because chances are you will become the Obsession, and that means killer will know where you are every 30 seconds. Regardless of range. That makes it very, very, very hard to stealth. If you are not the obsession then it's great. But chances are you will start as obsession, so that means the killer will be hunting you down early and your position will always be revealed until someone takes the obsession off you.

Actually you can still get the old OoO after the nerf :P. But its going to be quite hard.
Step 1: Use OoO and MoM.
Step 2: Waste you time getting MoM stacks.
Step 3: Use your MoM protection hit without getting downed.
Step 4: Heal your self.
Step 5: Well done, now the killer sees you and you see them if 16 meters apart.
LOL that big brain stuff there.

Hmm, i think the changes came about because of the long survivor queue times some experienced, because fewer people wanted to play killer after the ruin, then mori, and now undying change.
With the change of something unbalanced survivor sided, some people might consider playing killer again, leading to shorter queue times for survivors.
If you want to quit, do it, because fewer survivors lead to shorter survivor queue times also.
I think the DS change went a little over the top and could be taken down a notch, but the OoO was only relevant in games where the survivors had heavy advantages anyway (swf), so the OoO change should have that much weight actually.
I doubt that.
Back in 2018 killer queues were unreal (20 minutes or more, usually more) suggesting an overabundance of killers and a scarcity of survivors. Yet from that time until today survivors were hit with far more severe nerfs than the current DS nerf, in comparison to killers. Killer has been easier than it's ever been.
Yet instead of increasing the killer population we're now at a point where survivor queues are longer than killer queues on average.
The Undying nerf, was that a change also done to help survivor queue times by encouraging people to play less killer? Of course not. BHVR doesn't nerf to appease either playerbase or to influence play rates on either side. Nerfs and buffs are done to better balance the game as best they can, to make it a better game for everyone. They aren't always correct but it's not about trying to get more people to play one side over the other.

It needs a change... just not this laughable change. First off, will not work unless you are Obsession which yeah, you cant have a 4man kill you with it sure but theres just nothing good to it. Take Mike with Scratched Mirror. You'll get notified of every time he sees your aura but you cant see his, basically just being Spinechill... in which case... just use Spinechill. Most killers often run BBQ so it's pointless for telling you the perks their using. Nurses is an easy call too. And compared to Better Together and Kindred, what does Object bring that you couldnt just use a better perk for?
No it works if you are not the obsession. In fact it's great if you're not the obsession. The trick is that if you use it you will most likely be the obsession, so you need to wait for someone to DS the killer to remove the obsession from you.
