    because it is.

once the killer hits you, you scream out and then you leave no other sounds of pain *while in their vision*, the killer should now know you have iron will and learn to not rely on sounds to track your location - if they lost you in chase, they lost you. if they wasted time trying to find you *based on sounds* that is the killers own fault for wasting time.

if i can't hear someone and i cant see them, i'm leaving the area to find someone else. i'm not wasting time on them anymore. they're gone. pay attention to pools of blood and scratch marks. relying on sound when there is a blatant call out to not do that anymore is stupid and wastes time i can spend patrolling gens.

Yeah, combine that with Boon: Circle of Healing like in higher MMR lobbies and you will suffer. Don't think it's just a harmless "oh forget about them and move on", you will forget about them but they will come back later renewed and ready to troll you again.

I would assume that they don't want to have a meta perk on a licensed character, as it makes the game pay-to-win. Instead, they've replaced it with a similar meta perk on an original survivor.

That is the weirdest logic and definitely something a dev wouldn't do, if anything they want people to spend as much time and money as possible in this game.

How about just don't tunnel? Go for the unhooker.

How is that concept so foreign for so many killers?!

How about, no, I'm not tunneling. I am trying to get the unhooker, then the guy he JUST unhooked is bodyblocking for that guy. It can even be worse than that, the guy who gets unhooked can later bodyblock the hook I try to take.

  • @Krazzik said:

Removing the DC penalty would just result in the first downed/hooked survivor always DCing. It happens commonly enough even -with- a DC penalty.

I would completely disagree with removing a DC penalty because people would just DC any time they encountered a Spirit, Blight or Nurse and other petty things. I do think Bloodpoint benefits for the team that won because of a DC should be a lot higher.

You still have not offered up a way to determine the killer is willfully not picking someone up.

It's not necessary to find a solution for this when the Survivors are in an unwinnable situation. Drain everybody's timers faster but the person with the most time remaining, who can attempt to crawl to a hatch. In the case that a Survivor doesn't have ANY perk at all to help them wiggle off faster, to charge their wiggle timer while downed or second chance perks, there is no physical way for anyone to get up. It is a video game. People are busy, we have jobs and limited free time. The exact last thing this game needs is more timewasting and meaningless waiting around to bleed to death in a completely unwinnable situation.

Your suggestion of magically mindreading Killer intent and that being a requirement exists only to detract from the argument in a meaningless way while still not contributing any suggestions of your own. You don't want this to happen, you don't care if your questions actually make any sense to ask.

    Calm. Down.

I'm not putting up a suggestion because I don't believe there is one, and I agree with the current system. The time to bleed out is adequate and fair to both sides. Your impatience is not a factor in balancing.

I could see also how this feature would be abused in certain circumstances, but it's still pretty simple to check if any living Survivors have a second chance perk like Unbreakable or DS when all 4 are downed, or even just the amount that are alive.

You could check for that and if all second chance perks are unusable and in the case that a Killer just flat out refuses to pick anyone up despite an availability of hooks, you could make the bleedout timer shorter. In cases where slugging is actually intentionally abused by a Killer just to make a game boring for all Survivors, it would be decently easy to check for this happening and at the very least end it faster. If the Killer decides to pick up and immediately drop a survivor during this time, they could receive a free wiggle off if he was trying to pause their timer instead of hooking them.

This ends up giving a Killer who isn't trolling and really can't find some of the survivors a chance if there's even one Survivor currently up and able to help anyone or any of them have a second chance perk.

It would be a somewhat simple anti-trolling feature for the rare cases that Killers try this and Survivors can do nothing.

You don't understand the expression 'in a heartbeat'. I'm not taking the time to explain it, this has nothing to do with my heart. I don't know what the devs are doing, and I certainly don't require qualifications to respond on this forum, but it's very easy to figure out why Devs DO NOT make certain changes that have been thrown around forever on the forums. Because they are bad suggestions. This is not the first time this topic has come up, and it won't be the last.

Spoiler alert (Since I know you won't do the bare minimum of checking out those topics): The last time this came up, the people who were pro-bleeding out faster were not able to put up a compelling litmus test for how the game can determine the killer was genuinely BM'ing, either.

It appears you aren't able to either, so unless you're willing to actually respond to the crux of my argument, you do you, but don't expect me to respond to your word salad again.

No you don't require qualifications, but you certainly aren't owed an explanation or the essay I'm writing out for you now. You're not in a position to demand from anyone anything and you are certainly not holding any potential feedback hostage with your awe inspiring authority. You are just a guy. You are pooling information like all of us.

So please, random guy on forum, enlighten us with your far better suggestions on this which so far appear to be "don't put this change in the game at all, also I'm not willing to consider any good reasons for this or to look at how my own argument might be flawed, please do it for me."

Not to mention, the game can be coded to check for lots of conditions and can technically check if a failstate for the survivors is guaranteed in a few ways.

That's so bs. The killer will now be rewarded for downing us after a camp on endgame collapse. Even when 99% of the time it takes a gigaload of teamwork to unhook the camped survivor. How much skill. I thought it was a anti tunneling perk.

Oh damn, your SWF didn't get a 4-man escape? Ohhhhhhhhhh noooo poor you, not like fighting a 4-man SWF is the most sweaty and toxic experience ever. You're right, he did technically camp you by sharing a terror radius with that guy's hook! Now you get to crouchspam him at the exit gates that you 99'd with no penalty lol

Survivors should not get a borderline free escape during the endgame, simple.

The point was to remove it from the Meta. Now people will run Off the Record instead of DS, so BHVR did what they told - they changed the Meta.

Not in any way people were hoping for (more Basegame-Stuff and less reliant on Perks), but hey...

I seriously hope they see the feedback with OTR. It's gonna be a disaster if they actually don't nerf Boon and keep Spine Chill and Iron Will the exact way they are with no adjustments.

The only thing it needed was to not stop regular breathing sounds. That would have been the perfect fix. Now, it joins the perk graveyard instead. Seriously curious to see how many survivor players are quitting after this "update".

It would be really funny to see players quitting because they had too much fun deleting their hitboxes every 60 seconds and making zero noise whatsoever. I really would love to see the high MMR survivor community get thinned out if that's people's idea of fun?? Incessantly running Meta and DEPENDING on it to get a 2 man escape.

  • @FlameLickVA said:

    (I play both sides)

Plain and simple, survivor’s shouldn’t have to wait 4 minutes to die and do nothing after queing up and unfortunately going down. Be it their fault or the killer is abusing ultra blink nurse, just because the killer wants to fuel their superiority complex.

I can understand if the killer cannot physically hook the survivor (deadzone), but this will also help the killer in that scenario. Win win for everyone.

so if a survivor has been bleeding out for longer than the 60 seconds on the bleedout timer, they can press e to die instantly.

nobody deserves to bleed out for 4 minutes, its agonizing in wait time.

(Also don’t turn this into us vs them, this is a QOL suggestion)

I agree this should be a feature, give the Killer a similar reward as if they hooked the person and if they can't wiggle off, their DS ran out or they had no DS or they don't have Unbreakable then make it work!

  • @foxsansbox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037092#Comment_3037092

    • How do you measure the killer choosing to do this, versus it being out of their control?
    • The killer doesn't always slug because they want to, they should be penalized for some survivor crawling off to some obscure corner of the map?

If you show me how to measure those things accurately, I will take your side in a heartbeat. Until then, survivors do not get this power.

Uhh you are not a developer and you are not in any position of authority. I don't really get how your heart being in this is the one thing to turn this into a legitimate issue?? Do you really think developers listen to you a lot more than they would any of us? What are your qualifications here?

How do you intimately know the exact side effects every feature being implemented would cause? How would a lack of this feature help out in an unwinnable situation for all 4, say. All 4 get slugged. None of them have Unbreakable. They MAY be able to wiggle out of the Killer's grasp if they're in a single cluster, but maybe the Killer is clever enough to just slug them anyway to not risk that.

So in an unwinnable situation, no one can help and everyone is going to get hooked, how is this too crazy?

the meta has become really stale at high mmr, 4 dead hards and 2-4 DS/ Boons has been normal for me as a killer. On the other side, tunneling has become the absolute meta playstyle for killers at high mmr, i had to do it to win matches and when i play survivor i got tunneled out so often. That's why i played with DS everytime. So yeah, meta was stale and needed a change because those perks just address basic issues the game has.

Yeah thank god for the new meta. The DS, Dead Hards and Boons are really getting tiresome and on 80 SECOND gens. From my PTB experience, 90 second gens made such a huge difference.

  • @versacefeng said:

I agree. Amusement from matches are probably gonna be at an all time low with where the meta is heading

Matches shouldn't be about "amusement" and bullying the Killer, they should be fun for everyone. That joke games where the Killer gets stomped is why you play DbD is very telling lol

  • @Advorsus said:

No, not at all. Even if the generator is 90% completed, which is 81 seconds, you're only removing 18.45 seconds from the gen. And that's with the added 2.5% base. Which seems like a lot, but the amount just goes down further the less it's been worked on. If they have 50% progress done, or 45 second worth of progress, you're only removing 10 seconds. That's at base if only 1 survivor is working on it with no toolbox and no perks that go towards gen speeds.

Not worth for having to go out of my way to kick a generator.

Simply put, all other perks are just better

I guess it does technically work better in SOME SITUATIONS because gens are now 10 seconds longer, so Pop just happens to be 12.5% more effective than on a standard gen? It still sucks for most gens with less than 99% progress.

  • @Kaitsja said:

Yes, because technically with the basekit change it's 22.5%, so you only lost 2.5% from Pop.

That is only assuming that you are somehow slamming a 99.99% gen. For example, if you're stomping out an 80% gen, it's gonna be 18.5%. For 50%, it's only gonna be 12.5% and for a 30% gen it's only gonna be 8.25%.

It's still decent but the most likely damage you are going to do with this limited time perk that can run out if you don't use it fast enough is 20%.

  • @Adaez said:

    Hex:Ruin - too weak,useless now

Off the Record - too strong, overpowered now

I think everything else is fine but please dont make perks too strong, and others too weak, they are both not balanced at all now.

I agree so much with this, those two perks are really rough. Hex: Ruin needs to be slightly buffed.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

For the attack cooldown im really worried its just going to make camping easier, especially against console players.

but im more worried about the Speed boost nerf after getting hit those .3 seconds will make a lot of difference.

if the changes were one or the other i think it would be fine

attack cooldown buff but keep current Speed boost after hit or something

The pallet breaking speed is fine but combined with the other 2 it feels like it will make a HUGE diffrence

    but i guess well see

I really like the gen damage tho.

Idk how pallet and gen smashing speed could possibly ENCOURAGE camping? If anything it would discourage camping if it's faster to do and less inconvenient.

  • @fulltonon said:

I think removing hook grab not gonna help with escape rate.

I disagree with everything, if we nerf Killers based on the Solo Queue experience then Escape Rates will drastically go up which they currently don't need and it will HUGELY benefit coordinated SWFs. This is NOT THE WAY TO HELP SOLO QUEUES. You are only using the argument to help Survivors get buffs, you might not even Solo Queue ever and only play in SWFs.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3022807#Comment_3022807

Iron Will should have just been fixed and make survivors still make breathing sounds. While running they could even increase the breathing sounds. That was it. No need to nerf the pain sounds or add an exhaustion condition.

Honestly the exhaustion condition is fine, please do nerf Dead Harding or Lithing away with Iron Will. It's so ridiculous.

  • @TheMadCat said:

I don't truly understand the Iron Will nerf. It was more about the fact the perk removed the breathing as well, which was a bug... Right?

I mean, I'm glad to see the meta being changed, but if it means having the meta perks useless to replace them by other perks that everyone will use... Well. It's just changing the meta rather than bringing more variety.

I was so sure Iron Will was gonna be useless that I stopped to use it a couple of weeks ago to get used of not having it. I guess it was a good decision for me.

If every character has the same range of sound as you said, it'd be easier to pick different Survivors.

In every video game it is literally unavoidable to find a "meta", the one perk, ability or character that is so useful in most situations that you should ALWAYS try to bring it.

It is hard to delete the idea of a "meta" from a game because there will always be a meta. One will grow in the place of this one.

  • @drakolyr said:

Since killers get a buff to hit, remove the grab at the hook so camping isnt that strong? (Except for Bubba anyway)

The only one who needs a hook grab are camping killers anyway.

Grabs are a fun game mechanic and punishes people for going for risky unhooks which you ideally should not do.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

When one of you Killer Mains open a Thread, are you trying to put in all the buzzwords to make it sound as dramatic as possible?

    "Circle of Healing SWFs"...

And I really dont get what makes you think that you deserve a Kill just because it is Endgame. If you have so many Survivors still alive once the Gates are powered, what did you do all game?

Dude, literally same with Survivor mains and no I'm not. Survivor mains are way more dramatic about every little change all the time.

  • Now because of this guy you're gonna tell your other Survivor main friends like "you see how crazy ALL Killer mains are they just wanna 4K with no effort and get basekit Blood Warden and NOED!"

  • @GlamourousLeviathan said:

I don't think Clown and Nurse needs it, their models are still great. However, Billy, Wraith and Myers, specially Myers, need new models.

  • @Hex_Llama said:

I would introduce different types of gens. Instead of having them all work the same way, I'd create a mixture of different features they can have that affect the strategy you use to repair them and make it harder to just split up and churn them out. Maybe some of them require more than one person to work on them, or some require you to go find an item before you can repair, or some take a long time to repair but they're almost impossible to regress -- you can come up with lots of conditions.

I think it would make the game more interesting for survivors and also help to negate the problem where people just mindlessly stack on gens to finish them fast.

That would be interesting, though the game already kinda has that with certain gens in powerful locations only accepting 2 people at a time repairing it, or some only accepting 3. I think it should be something more like you said, with some gens being in a worse state than others, maybe really fast gens like the gen speed in the base game is really loud and can be heard from much farther away.

  • @Phantom_ said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3025036#Comment_3025036

Oh sorry, I read your post too fast 😅 I think that would be great for some killers, like the ones you mentioned, but certainly not for all of them!

Nurse/Blight/Spirit are VERY fine as they are lol.

Yeah as for those 3, I feel like they need specific balancing to them. I don't like the idea of having to weigh the absolute best Killers and the worst case scenario of a 4-man solo queue as the baseline game we're trying to balance, and in most cases it certainly isn't that though Survivor mains would like to insist so.

  • @Babadook83 said:

You know i dont tunnel but without tunneling you rarely get 4k unless you get potatoes against you.

So am i allowed to try to win?

Also can you stop abusing perks like DS / DH / BT to give me my endgame kills? Can you stop bodyblocking me to doors in RPD knowing fully well i cant pass when you have BT...

Survivors play dirty in this game too

I really hate this, why does it always have to be a perfect 4-man escape with aggressive bodyblocking in less than 4 minutes??

  • @Veinslay said:

Can you stop tunneling gens if I've only gotten 1 or 2 hooks by the time there's one gen left? That's not fun at all, I barely even got to play the game

Yikes I feel that. Yeah it's really rough.

  • Again. Everyone replying to this. I am asking for BASE Killer changes, to the BASE game balance so that players don't literally have to waste a perk slot on aura reading perks all the time.

  • @Phantom_ said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/330815/how-would-you-tackle-aggressive-genrushing-4-man-swfs-if-you-were-a-developer

Well, Wraith has an add-on (All-seeing - Spirit) that lets you know the progression of each gen, which is truly great if you combine it with POP. You could also use Corrupt. I think there's another killer that has such an add-on as well.

Nemi's zombies can be amazing as well. Not only do they keep survivors from certain gens, but they also give you info as to where a survivor is.

No addons. Base game changes, requiring no addons and perks at all. Just making the whole game more enjoyable so Killers can use other, more fun perks.

  • @AnchorTea said:

None of these. The game should have more communication such as basekit kindred/HUD indicators and balance around that.

Holy HELL YES. I was just annihilated as Killer by I think clearly a 4-man SWF that was hardcore genrushing and had Circle of Healing, they told me to cry about it. Get this: they popped all gens in FOUR MINUTES and were out of there by the 6th and final minute, crouchspamming and laughing their way to the gates.

  • Pyramid Head butt was the best part about him, so sad they removed it lmao

  • @Object said:

I'm not sure what's the matter here? Survivors got nerfed drastically, making DS, Spine Chill, BT, Self-Care absolutely vain, with addition of Iron Will currently being nerfed as well, as it ravaged the whole point of not making any noise.

Killers got buffed mightily, they have received a lot of buffs, some changes barely making any difference (such as PTGWL, BBQ, Ruin (Ruin being not nerfed at all, only the speed of regress, it is now a tunnel prevention)). This will not only make kill-rate increased, but also lower the amount of stealthy survivors, because at the present time, it's virtually unimaginable to be stealthy survivor. All it did was establish another generation of flashlight Neas, and make some people leave.

Holy crap, you think the DS nerf is absolutely vain? You are literally out of your mind, how the hell was DS after exit gates are open fun and fair for anyone at all?

You're clearly one of those people who abused the hell out of Spine Chill and DS all the time.

It all depends on how the DH interaction actually plays out. If you have to finish the animation before you can do anything, its going to be a whole lot better, since now you can't just DH to make a window or pallet vault. A pallet drop might still be iffy, though.

Should disable a pallet drop if they're making it a full second now and you have collision. Could also be used in some really disgusting, dirty sandbagging and bodyblocking strats. Honestly the for distance part of Dead Hard isn't nearly as bad as the idea that now Sandbagging will be even more encouraged.

  • I really like the gen kicking nerf because it was just ridiculous how a survivor CLICKING on a gen undid regression but you had to go thru a TWO SECOND ANIMATION just to regress it at all.

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

All they need to do is prevent you from interacting with pallets or windows for 2 seconds and it'll be golden.

And if nothing else, at least getting successfully DH'd puts them in deep wound. Messing up before would get you absolutely nothing.

Hey at least they would be stuck in the animation and unable to do anything, the 150% speed boost still sounds so overpowered because you can just run away in a straight line. You won't even need to vault pallets or anything if you can just Sprint Burst BT.

Its not, I play Myers, Jigsaw and Deathslinger, I dont lose 3 gens in the first chase on a per match trials, sometimes it happens? yes it does, but its rare, like really rare and Ill repeat myself, it is happening to anyone on a common basis they are doing something wrong, its like saying its normal for a Survivor to go down in 15 seconds of normal gameplay, its not normal, sometimes its happens? sure it does but if you are a Survivor and cant last more than 15 seconds on more than half your chases you are doing something wrong.

I also play Solo, sometimes we fix 3 gens before the first down? yes, sometimes it happens, but same as Killer, its not the norm, it doesnt happen many times, it may happen once every 10/15 games at most and is usually because the MMR did something weird.

Now, you can tell me Killer is miserable, gens fly, maps are bigger than Asia, DH, DS, flashlights nonstop or wathever the current narrative is, Im not buying most Killers lose 3 gens by the time they get their first down, sorry but Im not buying it, especially not against Solos which make almost 50% of the playerbase either people lie about the gens or they lie themselves about their skill.

You're getting lucky with survivors who like chases more than doing gens but ACTUALLY in PRACTICE you're completely wrong and he's right. You can't just be "playing the game wrong" when 1 or 2 people are dedicated genrushers.

    Now the correct answer.

Overall, the survivor buffs look pretty good. We´ll get tank builds and running speed builds. So i really don´t get all the drama. Survivor is in a pretty good spot (maybe even a little op) right now.

Imagine the insanely idiotic bodyblock plays with Off the Record, DS and Boon: Circle of Healing.
