BBQ lost it's BP bonus. WLGF lost it's BP bonus but got buffed.
Plus basekit BT with an added haste.
Plenty for survivors to be happy about.
Bloodweb got 4 times easier to level up so that BBQ thing is irrelevant, agreed on everything else.

Quite satisfying to see that they confirmed what Killers were saying: gens are too fast.
Now gens take 90 seconds instead of 80.
Gen rush was a thing, and they were aware of it which is nice specially against those "apply pressure" claims.
Can't wait to play the new meta.
It's kinda hard to apply pressure if they've got a dedicated gen rusher just sneaking around you and they're SWFing so they inform each other of your exact location at all times.

On top of that, they removed the BBQ bloodpoint bonus. Which completely removes the killers incentive to leave the hook for the additional bloodpoints.
They made leveling up and getting bloodpoints FOUR TIMES AS FAST so that shouldn't even be a concern anymore. I think maybe they still should add an incentive for not camping a hook, like slowing down the hook timer depending on how close you are to it or even slowing down the Killer's action and movement speed by 2% while really close to a hook?

You need 4 times the amount of survivors than you do killers. Also, that probably depends on regions but for most the day my survivor queues are instant and my killer queues are over 5 minutes long, literally never witnessed the "killer shortage" i keep hearing about.
Some regions have Killer shortages at certain times of the day, those same regions could have Survivor shortages as well. It's very region dependent, do consider 50 thousand people play this game daily around the world.

Maybe you missed the part, where they nerfed the "stacked slowdown perks" hard. Like, trash level hard.
Or that Off the Record will turn into the new DS.
Or the basekit BT + speedboost.
Or the 2 perks that increase repair speed.
Or the HUGE BUFF TO BOTANY. Oh my god that is so tragic.

With the 10 second gen increase and the increased base regression cleansing totems is out of the question now, as Solo you barely have time to cleanse all 5 now, after the gutting you will most definitely wont have so its fix the gens, open gates, get out and call it a day, whoever gets NOEDd will have to croak for the good of the team.
It's never supposed to be easy or time efficient to pre-emptively cleanse all totems before NOED activates, the whole point is you will have at least 1 person doing the totems while 3 other people are doing chases and generators. In case they get all totems, great but you're down a person for like over 2 minutes.
it's not supposed to be easy and time efficient to take down a hex totem if you even figure out where it is. you're not supposed to go like "great I deleted the possibility of NOED happening in less than 20 seconds by nuking all the Totems on the map, now time to do a hard genrush" it's SUPPOSED to be a time waste.
I agree that NOED is stupid and overpowered, but what you people are proposing is even worse. Who will want to ever use NOED if it was really easy, time efficient and convenient to delete it? It would literally never come into play, you're saying Personally a better nerf to NOED would be nerfing how the perk works itself, not how it's removed.
-
Literally 15-70 seconds of slowdown btw?? I mean yeah, duh, the whole reason Killers use NOED is because they get furiously unexpectedly genrushed in barely 3 minutes. Maybe let Killers actually chase people around, do less teabagging clicky clicky flashlight right at the exit gates and you would be seeing a lot less of NOED, Rancor, Ruin. Let a game last like a full 20-25 minutes.
-
70 seconds of slowdown, now consider.
Running 1 survivor for 1 minute and 20 seconds, 3 gens pop because every single other survivor decided to play Sam Fisher and crouch around so you couldn't see them. Two gens left. Now two survivors, likely Claudettes and Dwights. do two gens and both have Brand New Parts, 1 separates to unhook the guy you just hooked, he has Borrowed Time so the first guy is now sandbagging for the healthy guy. 40 seconds are lost to getting back to that hook and chasing those two, you somehow manage to kill the Healthy guy. You hook him, the rest of the gens now pop.
Now they were all using Boon: Circle of Healing, so the guy that sandbagged for the second healthy guy who rescued is now fully healed and so are his teammates. So the healthy guy you downed and hooked is now getting unhooked and somehow, both gates were 99'd while you only looked away for maybe 15 seconds.
The guy you unhooked DID get Borrowed Time but it ran out, he was too far away from the gates. Now the whole team is sandbagging for them and you hit them somehow. They either sandbag him even more at the exit gates allowing him to fully crawl out or flashlight save him, OR you DO pick him up as he's the only Kill you're even likely to get at this point after this 5 minute game of Splinter Cell Spy vs Mercs mode and now he DSes you, the exit gates are open and he just runs out and clicks his flashlight at you.

The way some of these people are taking some of these thread topics meant for discussion about the game so personally truly blows my mind. Some of us don't like the changes but saying people are crying over this idiotic meta shakeup or telling people to change their perks is kind of sad honestly. Why can't killers change off regression? Why do I always encounter regression in every single game?
Why do I as a Killer, running literally no regression perks and chasing a guy for 1 minute and 20 seconds encounter TWO gens popping, then 3 more gens being 99'd, exit gates being 99'd then the guy I just hooked being unhooked by 2 guys sandbagging for him and when I STILL get him he just either uses Decisive or gets sandbagged really hard by the same 2 guys? Why does "idiotic meta shakeup" refer to disabling stupid Decisive plays where you DEAD HARD to avoid a hit, still get hit then get a free Decisive Strike to get out.
Why do I always encounter Boon: Circle of Healing in 2/3rds of my games as Killer, then two medkits and a flashlight on top of that, then a toolbox with brand new part???

My dude I'm not talking about leaving a person on the ground strategically every once in a while I mean going out of your way to slug everyone with knockout at 4 gens during the event, which has been a lot of what I've seen already. Haven't even seen a boon in a while except one guy running all 4 as a meme.
As Killer I see Boon: Circle of Healing EVERY OTHER GAME, sometimes even 2 at the same time! Idk what awful games you're getting, maybe you're Gold 2 or something??

@akanadi said:
i swear 50% of every hillbilly match somebody dc's because i chainsaw them, and no i dont camp or tunnel on normal occasions, so what are your HONEST thoughts on billy
I think it's because Survivors literally consider having line of sight and using your eyeballs to spot people running to a hooked survivor to be "camping". They literally consider anything tunneling and camping if it causes them to lose a game somewhat fast and early and doesn't allow everyone to genrush in 2 minutes.
-
You keep all the perks and items you have already unlocked, unless you decide to prestige before the update. If you do that, you won't be able to recover all lost perks and items. So yeah you keep all progression with that Killer.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The change is as follows:
there will be more of both, as well as incentivized slugging
Oh no, not slugging, not like you're running two Boon Circles of Healing and you get that slugged guy up and fully healed in literally 6 seconds with 2 people. Slugging isn't a bad and evil strategy because it's so easy to counter by getting that Survivor up.

It doesn't have to be if BHVR implements extra mechanics like Prop Night that stops the hook timer under specific conditions (like Camaraderie). Create a radius for all killers that stops the timer if you stay within that radius for too long and create a Line-of-Sight mechanic for killers with range or speed like Huntress or Blight that slows down the timer, the longer you stare, the slower it moves. And if done based on a killer by killer basis, this could make a huge difference. Unless the code is so finicky that they can't mess with the base hook timer (I wouldn't be surprised, coding isn't easy, especially with older codes), there's no reason they haven't implemented things like this yet.
This is just an awful terrible change, I agree that Bubba camping with chainsaw should be nerfed but what the hell? You consider SHARING A TERROR RADIUS WITH THE HOOK a camp? Please, just. Be better at survivor. That is sad. The whole point of doing a risky unhook when a Killer is either nearby or turns around to see you is that it's risky and puts you in danger. Survivors shouldn't be rewarded for having 1 dedicated genrusher that sneaks around and does all the gens and 1 unhooker that unhooks in your face right after you hook.
Killers should never be forced away from a Hooked survivor because while a survivor is hooked, you don't HAVE to unhook them. You can just genrush around. If you want to trade, that's your problem but there should be at least a trade happening. This would also massively slow down hook timers.

I think with 75% if you crouch or hide in a locker, it can help. Or if you gain enough distance and aren't under killers nose, they won't hear you.
But if I use exhaustion perk is disabled completely. That is what it kills it for me perdonally, and for that reason alone I won't use it. I would try it if it was just 75% and see how it goes, experiment.
You can't really experiment if the perk is disabled.
Can I ask, what exhaustion perks do you combine with Iron Will?

Patrolling the hook is camping. Standing in front of the hook is face camping.
Sneaking up to the hook five seconds after I turn around is Hook Camping, you're not supposed to do that as Survivor. Also, sandbagging the Unhooker using your BT is not allowed either. If I walk away for five seconds, turn around and see someone running up to the hook that's not camping, I'm just doing my job.

As an exclusively solo survivor since 2017, the coming changes look disgusting for survivors, great for killers, they neeeded it but us solo players get screwed, yet again, this is the final nail in the coffin, this game was barely fun to begin with and now, it will truly be a miserable experience for solo
so they increase gen speeds, okay, so whats stopping killers from still bringing stacked regression perks, the devs took a problem and made it worse, right idea, stupid execution
every survivor meta perk decimated, why?, you kill perks because they are popular, thats backwards, are you going to nerf whatever paltry meta comes out of this because that too is popular, pathetic.
buffed bloodlust, thats also backwards
i was all for killer buffs, that seems great but to nerf survivors into the ground, i'm glad i didn't buy the last few DLCs 😅
expect a mass exodus of solo players when it goes live, killer queues will return to 30m and considerably less content being created by survivors, pretty good job so far
Ah I knew it, the "all change is bad" guy. They didn't increase gen speeds. They actually LOWERED them, now gens are 12% slower to repair. Generators are so insanely fast to repair that you basically need to bring slowdown and regression perks to avoid genrushing, and even then you still get genrushed.
"Every survivor meta perk decimated" are you saying that Decisive Strike in its current state is fun? BT as base kit is a nerf?? They actually buffed BT and now made it part of base kit, how is that bad in any way for Survivors? Did you actually even read the developer update patch notes at all, because they literally only somewhat decimated Spine Chill and Iron Will. If you're saying nerfing Self-Care, Spine Chill and Iron Will was this gigantic nerf that will destroy solo queue you're lying.
If you were playing DbD like Sam Fisher and avoiding chases, spamming DS right infront of the exit gates then this game is not for you. I think we're better off with less players who react negatively to a meta being SLIGHTLY, VERY SLIGHTLY nerfed and don't actually read the changelogs.
Thanks for quitting the game.

HAH, easier for survivors, HAH!
I've started to play in 2020 and everytime I see an update it's a killer sided one, and this one is MASSIVE.
In addition the amount of tunneling camping slugging killers has been increased to nearly 100% (which is super disgusting and not enjoyable, and the reason why TONS of people disconnect or quit the game permanently), it is a rare case to find a killer that is NOT doing any of that, and then most of these are basically weak and gain up to 2-3 hooks during a trial, which (on the other hand) is also kinda boring.
We've just got an anniversary event and tons of people end up with under 10k points (pretty often even 2-3k) because they're just simply tunneled... the event is SOOOO enjoyable! /s
@Dead Hard - I'm at 3k hours and I can easily say that DH is trash (unless dashing for pallet/flashlight save), from both surv and killer perspective.
Please just play better. Slugging is not an issue, protecting a hook by patrolling around it is NOT camping. Camping is literally standing next to the hook to get an interrupt on someone doing an unhook. If a Killer ends up chasing you after a solid minute of chasing other people around or you're trying to bodyblock with your Borrowed Time or get them to take a DS, not tunneling.

@Shaped said:

It absolutely terrifies me, I just played against one and just by them being there I, out of nowhere became the worst player ever after getting 4ks all day and the loss hurts more than usual because there was an audience to witness it, they were nice in the in game chat afterwards but they didn't mind teabagging me at the gate before that. Maybe it's just my anxiety but I'm gonna leave the lobby if I see another one
Personally when I see a TTV player I feel even more motivated to annihilate them in a chase. Because TTVs will often have a lot of pride because they're on stream and they're mostly SWFs, if they're streaming to anyone it's a really good way to show off your Pyramid Head or your looping strats and mind games. They're also very polite and respectful, they often won't freak out too much unless you do actually tunnel them fully and only them.
It's so much fun to delete a TTV SWF lobby.

That’s exactly how they think, just look at self care being nerfed.
I'm just mad Circle of Healing got ZERO NERFS. It's SO overpowered, they should seriously nerf the healing speed buff and make self-caring with Boon a little slower than using Self-Care. Survivors healing with Circle of Healing and Medkits with styptic is the current biggest problem with the Survivor meta that really badly needs nerfing, Self-Care wasn't even the worst thing ever.
Personally I would give buffs to base kit for the benefit of Solo Q, like making survivor auras appear through walls at a certain range to give a similar benefit to the information that an SWF can exchange.
-
Just make it delete scratch marks faster and be completely silent after you get in a locker or crouch, so you're not getting a weird effect where Iron Will makes Survivors never scream even when being hit by a PH or Clown or Doctor for some reason.
-

You are at a disadvantage because you'll be downed after one hit.
That's the whole point of iron will, maybe just look at its icon and read its "name"...
But no, these 24/7 tunneling, camping and slugging killers are too poor and need to hear every survivor now!
Oh no poor Survivors with their stupid Boon: Circle of Healing and Shadow Step, sprinting away and healspamming in a corner of the map, how will you ever use Iron Will now to completely kill all Survivor noises except footsteps and rushed actions. Personally they should make Iron Will make your scratch marks disappear really quickly because I noticed most Iron Will users really suck at chases. It should really be more of a perk to let you get out of a chase easier, not Urban Evade and Iron Will with zero penalties around the map and reward you for being injured lol

https://media.tenor.com/images/3a289f581ae3c0877f73d519675243e8/tenor.gif
To be fair, footsteps and tufts of grass moving when a person was sprinting are already a pretty big help. Even with default Iron Will, as long as a Survivor was going full sprint you could usually tell pretty easily where they were.
-
@Walex90 said:
While it's clear that devs want to make it easier for killers (again as always!) when it comes to looping, other than that it is a HUGE nerf. We won't be able to just simply hide when injured and not be found, or sneak into a hooked person without being noticed. Same applies when one wants to go for a pallet/flashlight save while injured.
The killer can find us anywhere 24/7 now. This is bs!
Devs have been making it easier for Survivors in a lot of ways for literal years, it's about time Killers get a decent buff. It's not a stealth game and considering some of the Boon perks, it's already way too easy to lose a Killer completely and then add Iron Will and Spine Chill on top of that. A lot of pretty strong Survivor stealth perks.
I once thought a SWF was teleporting because they had BOTH Circle of Healing and Shadow Step, so they healspammed at the 99'd exit gates in seconds and rescued a survivor while I had my back turned and somehow none of them left scratch marks.
Killer stealth allows for an easier first hit, Survivor stealth allows for a very boring game and very stupid plays. Sure the Iron Will nerf is massive but Survivors making no noise at all was kinda stupid too.
-
@artist said:
you guys have a rly bad habit of over nerfing things i swear... maybe it doesnt need both the vault speed and the information it gives, but it definitely needs at least one of them! vault speed build was always one of my favorite set of perks to run. also, how do u even think it'll still be used if it only works when the killer has line of sight on u, if they have LoS on me, chances are, i dont need spine chill to figure that out! it's fine to take perks out of meta, but it isn't cool to make them useless!
I mean don't you think that being able to snipe Killers thru a wall from 36 meters away is a little overpowered? There's already a terror radius that grows louder when a Killer is approaching, now basically being able to pinpoint the exact direction they're coming from without even seeing them I don't know. Also destroyed stealth killers and vault speed shouldn't be something that needs buffing.
If you do a lot of slow vaults in a chase,, you deserve to take a hit and shouldn't be rewarded for it.
-
@HexPleaseLetMeSpeak said:
I feel like the biggest nerf it needed was honestly just the fact that it completely hard countered stealth killers. That's why I can't tell if the devs just don't know how to write a patch note and the ACTUAL change is that it doesn't work on killers that are undetectable, because it talks about a "stealthy approach" which makes no sense with the change they made because... killers have a terror radius, there's literally nothing stealthy about playing killer OUTSIDE of being undetectable.
It was a little overpowered to get Spine Chill because a Killer sniped you through a wall while trying to kick a gen you're rushing. Default Spine Chill encourages "Splinter Cell" sneaking gameplay and genrushing with a lot more warning if you're about to get rocked. I don't think it's maybe fully justified though, I would still have Spine Chill work like it currently does in a way but only have it work at an 8 meter range, so basically seconds before a chase or right in a chase and only against a Killer without an Undetectable status.

This behaviour really makes learning any new killers disheartening, and maining trapper and ghostface myself doesn't make it much different usually anyway. Makes you really wonder why any new player would even stay sometimes.
I try to play fair but I've had a few times where I've not had a great day and someone has been toxic enough for me to slug them. But I would much rather not have to end up getting annoyed enough to do that when I've had a stressful day and want to just play a game to let off steam. But people will be asshats when they can hide behind a screen.
Who is even gonna dare play any Killers they personally consider fun if they're not "meta", like sometimes that attitude Survivors have makes me wanna play 5 rounds of Doctor with good addons just to brutally punish Survivors. They really deserve it sometimes.

He disconnected and waited until the end to complain about me tunneling him (I had only hooked him once) xD.
I'll take fries with that salt.
OHHH I feel that, I've started taking Franklin's a lot more in higher Killer grades from the sheer damn amount of FLASHLIGHTS and MEDKITS and Boon Circle of Healing PLUS medkit.

Nurse: People playing her make SoloQ even more miserable than it already is, they don't deserve mercy or sympathy and should be BM-ed as much as humanly possible.
Blight: See Nurse
Spirit: See Nurse
Freddy/PH/Nemesis: The most likely to be hardcore tunneling from moment one, so they ellicit the kneejerk reaction of "####, I can't go down first!"
They nerfed her several times over, Blight is really tough to use but with Spirit I'm still kinda with you there. There's a bit of RNG, survivors should be able to hear the Spirit almost as well as she can hear them. It's a little overpowered and needs working counterplay.
Totally disagreed with all your other opinions though, Blight is really not a free win killer. Sure he has the best map pressure in the game but he's insanely hard to use and to loop with unless you're actually good. Just holding W doesn't work on him as it shouldn't and you should feel bad for thinking it should work like that at all.

YES, and because of this it's very funny and satisfying to use things like Deathslinger's Iri coin, Blood Warden and ranged killers on people. Yet you can have a tea bagging survivor sitting between 3 separate pallet locations throwing down a flash bomb (literally a free firecracker) and DHing to another Pallet location. Smashing the crouch button.
Like I get that Killers face camp but is it on the same scale as Survivors activity being bullies? It’s like Shawn of the dead zombie practice sometimes.
I mean a teabagging survivor isn't a gameplay thing really, just a BMing thing while facecamping is kind of gameplay related.

Some people collect lists of how many normal words are censored. My personal favourite is that "kill" is also censored. In a game where you can play a murderer.
The best part being that the literal main menu contains the phrase "Play as Killer" but you can't say that in the in-game chat, and Killers are often called that in-game. I think they acquired some sort of premade weird third party chat censor that also hated all brands lol, they should really revise the chat filter manually.

Most of the survivor playerbase is like that: When the killer crushes them, they cry, whine and get salty, doing numerous excuses about why the killer won, even against their crutch perks. When the killer is having a hard game due to braindead loops and their second chance perks to carry them while genrushing, they mock the killer and feel full of themselves. Even then, the killer should play for their fun, otherwise the killer is considered toxic.
It's crazy how obnoxious survivors can get after a single flashlight save or a good pallet loop.

As killer people will be bagging me at 5 gens, survivor I get hit on the hook with absolutely no provocation other than running them too long.
But when people are running the completely broken easy-mode builds sure, ill be toxic. Why not? Even when I win against things like Nurse, Hag, Blight, etc they were usually still an utter snoozefest.

That's the thing, I would still just absolutely annihilate all of these toxic people. Got a 4K as literally every single one of these so in reality the Killers aren't that trash if they're just played well. So why just assume someone is bad unless they're playing Nurse and get absolutely mercilessly stomped?
Why would you do that if you're just as upset at OP killers + OP addons + OP perks + tunneling, camping etc.? You're just encouraging normal decent Killers to play obnoxiously just to spite you when you clicky clicky with a flashlight lol.
PS: TOTALLY with you on BMing an obnoxious Rancor, NOED, Undying Nurse or ######### like an AFK Pig camping a puzzle box, I'm just totally against BMing normal Killers who are avoiding bad and toxic tactics.

Infinite loops are incredibly bad. Why are they even in the game. Just in general, delete all the immensely safe pallets or make them much less safe.
The safe pallet-in-a-loop spam is unreal.

Both, but also they revamped the matchmaking system. Now there's an arbitrary metric of how you succeeded previously that's accounted for in how you're matched xDD so you could be given easier players at green, and harder brownies.

For a power that has such low lethality its very odd that the power doesn't refill its charges over time like other killers. I mean look at Leatherface, he chases and if it lands its a down. Wait a little and he can do it again. If a clown plays well with his bottles he gets a hit but then has no power and its often times better to just chase without bottles. Please give the sad happy boy some love.
I'd say personally the reload on the bottles is ridiculous considering Deathslinger's reload is literally shorter, but his ability lets him stop people from moving completely. Make the reload like a quarter second or something.

Deathslinger is enough like old Legion as is, honestly. Not great in the 4v1, but oppressive in the 1v1. A good DS downs you very quickly, with little you can do. He's just slow and has no map pressure.
Also None of the Above, pls give my boi wraith basekit windstorm.
Please just improve the attrocious Wraith basekit. In general, he literally has nothing to work with lmao :/ Just my 2 cents

Statistically, console survivors are pathetically bad. Like truly, truly bad. ON AVERAGE: I am saying they're about 1% to 50% worse than PC players. Console killers tend to be about 40-60% better than PC players lmao.

As in, you played Legion on new Yamaoka just recently and it was perfectly fine??
