it's an annoying perk an like free wall hacks on the killer kind of like old object i guess?

might be a bad example but the people who run it are usually the "Chase me Chase me!" people so just grin and bear it i guess as chasing them is giving them what they want

but they both have 40 second cool downs. These two would scream within 4-8 seconds. I can handle screams every half minute but under ten seconds? Made me want to homescreen (i didn’t because i did that against the first batch)

Journalism is pretty much dead. It's all just click or rage bait. This isn't an exception.

It’s just so bad to see a killer get a decent reception get called out for something that isn’t even true.

  • To add onto my statement, it’s mainly people who run to every single pallet they can find, pre-drop it, then book it to the next one and sprint around it

    @mizark3 said:

You don't need a perk for pre-drops, you just need your A/D key to work. Pre-drops can be walked around or Bloodlusted in the vast majority of circumstances.

^ WOW. It’s not like 45% of the pallets are in corridors or have some sort of obstacle next to them. Making pre-dropping way more powerful in those areas. I’m just saying if a killer can’t do too many actions or certain actions without it effecting them (Kicking gens and face camping -thank god they got rid of FC’ing I even hated it-) why can survivors pre-drop and endlessly pallet vault?

    • His alternative power is meme just for fun jokes and is the worst power in the game (pallet freddy).
    • His Dream World to Survivors possses almost no treat and they can ignore it for the most part.
    • His power lacks of uniqueness for the most part. He is just recycle worse version of allready existing kits. Only cool thing is that he has bright vision thanks to being in Dream World.

Could they make being in the dream world an issue? Like a build up to a mori?

You know that killer also get a sound sensor for people with sound problem? Survivor just get the heart, who help with the terror radius and some exception like the lulaby of sadako when she was undetectable

Where? I can’t see that in the settings. All I see is Heartbeat Visual and FOV.

  • I like using killers who can buff themselves by doing actions. She gains undetectable, haste, and has tracking. Information is key in most games nowadays, so I focus mainly on that.

When they got nothing, the smallest change is something for them

When, in comparison, when you got everything, obtaining less than before is what they make angry, so they call for more, more and more

Just to interject, survivors did get buffs recently. It’s not huge but the heartbeat sensor they have is more powerful than they like to admit, it lessens the need to rely on sound to tell if the killer is near. So you can focus on listening to call outs, information, or focus more on the gen you’re connected too.

I know it helps the hearing impaired but so far I’ve seen only people with good hearing use it. So it’s a buff to survivors, like the very new killer FOV slider is for killers.

  • So many people hating on Skull Merchant when the main article is about how much GoJ sucks.

GoJ is almost as bad as the Stranger Things map, it doesn’t account for terrible map interactions and is overly safe to do things on. If they just made the main building better and had more space between long loops it would be fine.

  • They should make it so at the third generator pop if there is 4 people left in the trial that something happens to keep them from continuing the gens. Like a certain totem only they see must be cleansed or maybe an Entity shrine must be destroyed. Something to force the survivors away from gen rushing.

To keep killers from tunneling you could make it so if the killer has only hooked 1 person twice without being in chase with at least 1 other survivor for 24 seconds then the survivor gets a boon that gives them OTR but with a longer hit speed body with no scratch marks. Punish single minded tunneling, not reward bad survival skills like running into the killer.

Hag was recently buffed but I haven’t tried her to see if it’s an improvement—not that she was terrible or anything before. Dredge I think is fairly weak and I can’t really see a way to buff it. Maybe getting rid of its aura in Nightfall would be enough. Singularity is odd because I think what makes it fair is how technical its power is. If it didn’t require as much skill expression it would be overwhelming (for survivors) and that’s not going to work for this game long term. Nurse doesn’t leave any counter play for survivors so she can’t be the litmus of what makes a killer good.

We shouldn’t but “Good” is subjective.

Killer's power is okaish. Not quite what was marketed but still not horrible.

The power itself is relatively mid. The biggest problem is that direct hits don't infect, or whatever the effect is called. If they made direct hits explode and infect instead of just going through them the killer would be in a much better state. There's also the fact that, unlike say ghost face if you just look at the killer for a fraction of a second, it counts as looking at the killer for "3 seconds" so you don't have to actually LOOK at the killer constantly to remove it, you just have to swing back for a bit, which makes it so you can often lose your infection after you have already gone around a corner, which feels really weird.

    interesting… (I’m on console so I couldn’t play him)

  • @Ayodam said:

Interesting killer visually but the power is cumbersome. Seems solidly mid. It’s weaker than Xenomorph and Chucky who are uncommon to face now. It’ll have its week or two and then fade into obscurity like similarly technical killers; Singularity, Hag, Dredge, so on and so forth.

They just need to give better reasons to use said killers. I recently posted about how annoying it is to play Singularity, why play him when I can play nurse? (I don’t play her but she is still top tier)

I usually ignore you, but this just shows that your take is not really valid.

The Survivor TEAM should have the same strength as the Killer. So the 4vs1 should be a 50/50. Not the 1vs1.

    Didn’t the devs say why it’s a 60/40?

Killers on average should get 2 kills and perhaps one more. Thats how they try to balance every killer from what i remember reading. Their system is basically

    Match 1-4: 2K and 2Hook states

    Match 5: 3K and 1 Hook State.

They said Killers getting none stop 4Ks is not good for the game but killers getting 0Ks is worse. So the split the difference and said 2.25 kills per match is a good balance. Hence a 60% “win rate”.

I read somewhere on here that the devs mentioned they don’t want to do the stereotypical type of monsters like mummies, vampires or werewolves. I dunno how true that is though, but I’d personally love them all to be in the game. Even better if we can get The Mummy from the Brendan Fraser film.

I mean they could do a spin on the og monsters.

While I too think this would be great, I just don't see it happening. The intent was to combine the playerbase & create one community, and for that reason alone they're unlikely to go back on that. The often glaring performance and gameplay differences (especially on the older gen machines) has always taken a back seat to this imo.

A suspicious mind may say it was also to greatly improve PC queue times, if you have a suspicion mind. Let's think this through:

Say they allow this, and the console players massively opt out of including PC. That means Steam, Epic, and Windows players become isolated from the vast majority of the overall playerbase. Their queue times now are horrendous. Most of the content creators (and each & every one of the Fog Whisperers) are on PC, and they see their queue times all go to poop. Not hard to work out what then follows...

    Never gonna happen.

Then they should try to level the playing field so PC players can’t fully dog on console players because they just have to move their mouse a quarter of an inch and spin like a top.

  • SWF sided, been playing since 2017 and I can assure you that survivors always got the upper hand when it came to QOL and perk balancing.

Take DS and DH. Both very annoying and was run none stop. Yet it took years to change them. While it took about 5 months to turn a top 75% use rate killer perk into a trash secondary perk.

Now killer powers? Yeah a lot of broken stuff there, but it only took a few encounters to learn how to handle them.

As of right now? It’s more balanced but it’s a killer by killer basis. If 55% (just an example) of all killers are Wesker, blight, and nurse it screws up any killer win percentage, but their number will boost it for the lesser killers (Freddy, Twins, and Ghostface -depending on how badly they bugged him in a update-)

so to clarify my position, it’s SWF>High Killers>Soloq>Low Killers. SWFs will always be on top and be the most annoying but the same can be said by a soloq Talking about Nurse or Blight.

  • I think a major issue is that that all forms of gen damage is counted. From hook based perks to Surge, it’s like they want to remove 3-Genning but don’t see the forest through the trees.

biggest issue is Gen placement in most cases

  • Crossplay. Because that’s when console killers got to meet PC survivors who can 360 with a flick into a pallet loop that’s connected to a building. I also think that’s when they added more pallets in general.

You are winning against survivors by turning a M2 killer into a M1 killer for 60s. What does that say about the survivors you're facing?

I Remember one was a squad running a meta build. You now MTF, BNP, Adrenaline, Lithe and That one that lets her insta revive downed teammates. So it wasn’t newer players but also not pixel perfect survivors either.

I don't think some killers should get changes, even if they aren't the best.

Legion isn't amazing but he is popular and has a decent kill rate, but if he got buffed it would create problems for lower skill levels, so i think he is in a decent spot.

Sadako got changes and now she is terrorizing solos.

Some killer designs just shouldn't be that great for the health of the game

I feel like the issue truly comes from tunnel vision or spotlight blindness. Too much attention on a few things instead of on a bigger picture.

  • @MrCrowBard said:

Recently there was a dev comment to the effect of "We're not going to waste a lot of precious development time on lower usage killers. At best each killer is only impacting 3% of the game, we can better use dev time to have a larger impact on the game by focusing on other aspects"

With the recent Sadako rework I'd also worry that any larger changes would be detrimental to the fun aspect of the killer.

If all the killers started playing the lower tiers once they got buffed maybe the devs won’t have a million “I’m sick of Nurse, Wesker, and Blight” threads and have more fun ones like “Do you think Wrath could steal from a Vending Machine with his long arms”

  • Killers should be more fun to play as then play against.

For instance: I like playing Doctor. Survivors hate my guts. I don’t care because I like playing him. Still only get 2Ks. I don’t fully mind since I’m playing giggle simulator.

Now if it’s supposed to be fun playing against (usually meaning super easy counter play or straight up items to counter it): I like playing HUX, Survivors laugh at me, my power becomes useless, I get T-Bagged at the door, I hate the game.

Killers are obstacles for the survivors objective, they shouldn’t be unfair but also shouldn’t be “Fun to go against” because they feel easy to disadvantage. It’s a balancing act that BHVR sucks at. Now if they made the game feel more fun in general then it would probably nullify this argument.

  • @BlueHorkew said:

I don't think bhvr has the ressourses or means to rework/buff more than half the cast.

So the best is just to choose what killers really need a rework and hope for some quality of life changes to some killers.

Also not every killer can be A tier, its just reality.

I know, believe me. But no killer should be C, D, or F. A range of A’s and B’s should fill the selection.

  • I’m also not the one in the clip and don’t condone their language.

I like the way you think :) If the game was more like this it would be a lot more fun!

It can go from “kill them quickly” to “Keep them occupied” which sounds like a less stressful issue in my book.

  • @Mockingjay_S451 said:

Of course anything the survivor has as a way to fight back, is bullying.

    Of course.

It is when you can lock the killer in an animation for long periods of time. Just like how Double locker stuns can. I was more implying that these (if they are let’s say used at hooks) would make it a near impossible way to play the game as intended. almost akin to gen trapping as Skully, a thing Survivors (and myself) seem to hate beyond anything.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

There needs to be few meters of empty space before you can place them down, but you can have it near these objectives.

As for carrying a Survivor, it doesn't metter. I even saw turret firing on Alien while he was carrying someone, nothing happend even 2+ sec firing flames on him.

Okay, so it’s not AS bad as it could be but some maps may be used to bully him. That’s better than I expected considering the bullying HUX got.

  • 2017. Basically dropped the game due to how toxic people are and how bad some decisions are made. I planned on coming back around November but at the rate BHVR seems to be going I may come back sooner. Still think they only truly care about the survivor side due to not just thinking about basic issues like HUXs EMP issues making his power useless on over half the maps, but hopefully it gets better. I miss the 2K or 3K days without the super sweats running around, but then I remember the insta heal Claudette’s and feel myself wonder when I actually liked DBD. Found out it was 2019-2020. After that it has been much more of a “I love the game but hate the other side (I’m a killer main)” feeling. Probably due to the lack luster changes to killer perks that I would actually like while constantly getting face smashed by survivor sided updates like the increase in pallets or perks. Not that I don’t think survivors don’t deserve new or good perks, just feels like they get sets of three that can be picked apart into separate builds while killers get 2 decent or good ones and one very bad perk.

  • @Green_Sliche said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/378903/i-m-amazed-the-emps-haven-t-been-nerfed-yet

They didn't want him to be oppressive so they made sure his power works only when survivors are doing stupid things and don't go for EMP. At the same time they didn't want his power to be useless so when he is in overdrive mode, he can just tunnel survivor out and shred pallets on the way, creating an illusion of an unstoppable force. Unfortunately they couldn't balance it all out so they went the safest way and ended up releasing the worst M1 killer who's power is absolutely nulled by survivors 9 out of 10 games. In that 1 out of 10 game though, he ends up being a killing machine who does 4k at 4-5 gens with little effort.

In his current state he is basically a worse Freddy.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I think they should have gone with Scott Jund's idea with making the EMPs charge up themselves 75% of the way, but the survivor has to come do the last 25% to pick it up. That way they actually have to dedicate time to them. His "built in slowdown" doesn't exist because it just happens naturally for survivors. If they had to actually work at it, it would work much better.

    I agree.

So you have to go back 6 chapters to a perk that's been nerfed at least 3 times, and the most recent nerf removed it from being meta entirely?

If we're going back that far and using obsolete nerfed perks as a benchmark, then the buffs to Eruption and Overcharge in 6.1 and the addition of nowhere to hide with the knight, and call of brine with onryo (you know, the gen kick meta) were all more recent than that.

Since we're apparently counting things that have since been nerfed into oblivion.

Edit: worded it weirdly, call of brine was added with Sadako chapter, not buffed in 6.1 like it originally sounded.

NWTH isn’t broken. And look how they massacre the gen kicking meta just like they killed the DH meta. I went back far because personally the last year we haven’t really gotten super op perks. Yeah there was the shake up but how long did that last? Like maybe 6 months before everything settled into metas again?

I was mainly pointing out that survivors did get op perks before and we need to be careful about heading back into that direction again. Like how I believe we should be wary of the killers gen kicking and slowdown perks. Balance is key and sadly it’s constantly thrown out of whack by the introduction of perks that are new or better than most.

My original point was that this is the first strong survivor perk in 3-4 chapters.

Leave it alone, buff stuff elsewhere.

I’m not even saying it’s broken or op. It’s more annoying than anything. Especially on Killers walking 110% or even Nurse considering people forget she moves slower than survivors. I Just Hope this doesn’t set a trend of movement speed perks.

  • @Sharby said:

Of the last four chapters, only Reassurance is even remotely relevant.

Do we need to bring up COH? That perk when launched broke the game with insta heals. Also killers haven’t gotten any op perks in a bit last one I can think of COB over a year ago. Didn’t survivors get a bunch of buddy perks last chapter?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

He's going to struggle massively if survivors optimize things at all, which is what most people were saying on PTB. They didn't really change what made EMPs an issue in the first place. They're way too easy to use for how much they do, and they're basically unlimited.

They should be limited. Everyone else who has a counter like that is limited besides Freddy. And even Freddy has the cool feature of doubling the time required to wake up

  • @DaddyMyers_Mori said:

and again, gen speed is not an issue. BNP and spawns are main culprits.

I thought he had that to scare the hell out of survivors with StarStruck?

  • My favorite is Bill. People who play him are usually a mix of sweat and fun.

Now… I played back during the instant 7 second heal era. To this day I see Claudette’s and I choose violence. Just bad memories of them stunning me and instantly healing during the stun and break animations.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I think there is 2 reasons they are buffing Pop.

First, there no good gen perks left except PR & Deadlock.

Second, they want to make non-tunnel strategies viable again. And Pop helped to killers who don't wanna tunnel.

I did enjoy how pop was an incentive to go to a gen. I’d skip over just to kick it.

  • I’m sure they aren’t just going to throw it in there without a lot of testing first. Endless unbreakable was WAY more op than people give it credit for. There is a survivor strategy with Boil Over to go down on top of larger buildings and forcing killers to fall to a hook. Effectively allowing them to break free. Endless unbreakable would’ve made that so much more over powered since the only real way to deal with it is to bleed them out.

Personally they should just allow the Killer to Mori the last survivor of hatch is closed. EGC time.

  • About the same. Personally hate Adrenaline with a burning passion but currently the meta isn’t that bad.

  • I dont See it as a Problem. It could use a small nerf maybe but nothing game changing. Perhaps a cooldown after vaulting or pallet dropping for ten seconds? Nothing to like how DS, DH, COH, HR, Or Eruption were nerfed though.

If they REALLY want to not add a cooldown or update then as a nuclear option they could add an effect onto it that discourages you from constantly running if. I’m not advocating for that however but it’s a thought.

  • when putting someone in the dream world it will randomly cause things to happen around the survivor.

Dropping pallets, blocking vaults, slamming lockers every twenty seconds

  • It seems people are more focused on Pinhead and Dredge than what my true point was. I was just saying More passives that affect the match as a whole would be fun. I personally don’t mind going against either of their passives, but this could allow them not to overly complicate a killers power by just giving them two. 1 passive and 1 Activated.

  • Interesting. Hopefully they bring the Twins up a few brackets.

  • Maybe they’ll actually try to figure out where they want billy to sit on the spectrum of useless-over powered. I personally think he belongs in the balanced section… actually… most things should be there.
