  • I’ve had a few DCs and self killing on hooks. But I use her for anti-loop and specifically let the final survivor leave unless its the obsession.

My build is Rancor, STBFL, Plaything, and No Way Out. Along with her Hinder and Haste add-ons. So I can deny pallet loops. Only time I put a drone near a gen is if that gen is bard to get to. Like DDS balcony or the Center of Pren.

  • I’ve always Said it’s a Killer who Can only damage With a Basically Attack or Killers who have no True mobility.

Billy isn’t one because he has a secondary Attack and High movement. While Trapper doesn’t have a second Attack and Bad Zero movement.

Blight isn’t one because of his High movements and Lethal Strike, Wraith is on because he has to uncloak and disable his power to basic Attack you.

Wesker isn’t one Because He Can grab and hurt you With it, Doctor is one Because He Can only smack you.

Ghostface, Myers, and Plague Are all M1s But their powers help them with it.

  • so far her weakness is huge Open Maps or maps With terrible LOS.

But "we" want our 3rd health state perk instead of being limited to only two. /s

Just play Pinhead, Legion & Deathslinger 3 out of 31 Killers that can avoid dead hard even when survivors intentionally stay injured.

If it work based off your hookstates it might not be as harsh. Gives you a third Health state If Your on Deathhook.

  • its also luck based on the Killers side too. “Am I going to a Good map? I Wonder If im going to get gen rushed? Are my perks Even good to use? Can I survive the Four Meg’s With flashlights? Are there scumbag pallet gofers? Will the hatch spawn Under the Last guy to give him a free win?” Getting adept on some of These Killers feels like eating glass. At least With the survivors you Can ask a buddy to help.

Survivor is kinda tricky, problem came from it's miserable situation. I was thinking about 2-piping requirement for survivor, but removing "escape" part would be fair. Or make it like similar challenge "repair 1 gen, unhook 1 survivor and escape".

But still I really don't like escape part, because of all this survivor "luck-based" experience. You either play like scumbag (that's how killers now will do) or wait to stars align: no camper + no tunneler + decent team + not strong killer + good layout +..... etc etc. Yesterday I got 1 adept by being scumbag (I was last of two and both were hiding in hope that other one will go down) and another one by being blessed with super strong team that carried me to the end.

All in all, my point is that before today, killer Adepts were "interesting", now it's just basic check in the list "go, camp, tunnel, slug last 2, here is your achievement". I'm up for adding 2 pip system for survivors (but within reasonable limits, otherwise it would be impossible for non-streamer SoloQ player)

  • @AbsolutGrndZer0 said:

Just saw a streamer test this, and it seems Doctor still hears the screams, but the perks don't work per se. YOu get the "noise notification" and aura but not the scream.

So, I agree this is broken, but... I can't really put into words why. Anyone else that thinks this is bad able to put it into words why?

Preferably from both the killer and survivor reasons?

It’s Bad for Killers Because outside of 19 meters it will be a terrible source of information and Takes a lot of perks that Are Perfectly Fine and makes them worse. It’ doesn’t affect survivors so they have no room to Talk on this matter if they just want to celebrate another nerf to their competitors, But My survivors Friends say it’s stupid How they changed it. Seems like an unnecessary nerf just to see what they can get away with.

Dude, you telling all this to a person who got them ALL, third of them was on Iri. Yes, double pip was not always easy, but it was a challenge and good one.

Now i just need to camp/tunnel and slug, and survivors can also deny achievement. Challenging task now turned into scumbag-meta.

And all survivors need to do is survive. They could literally let their teammates die and escape through the hatch. You don’t NEED to slug or tunnel. You can Just what I did. Mori the hell out of them all.

Drop drone at loop to force expose or push them away from loop

Place drones at good loops to corral survivors into dead zones for free hits

Place drones at gens for free info

Mkae sure to use scanner to track survivors with claw traps (They get them from disabling drones)

Constantly be recalling drones so you have them ready for chase and don’t forget to activate drones ahead of you in chase

Be Sure to use height to your advantage. On top of the harvester on the farm maps is a good place to put it.

This killer makes the game not fun for survivor. It's too easy to loop her so it's boring, and the only thing she can realistically do to try and win stall out the game for twice or three times the length of a normal match.

She's bad for the game in the same sense that Forever Freddy and Forever Legion were bad for the game, and in the sense that Condemned Sadako and Knight are also bad for the game.

So the Game is only Good If it’s fast and survivors only gotta loop a Killer who slows down to use their power? That’s some boring gameplay on par with Face camping.

That’s actually How it was back in the day. Had to get a 4K with only That Killers perks. I don’t even think you could use add-ons.

I started to notice that they do have a Phantom Range around an active drone or a hooked survivor Where you cant put them. It’s Kinds bugged right now.

A spirit, she was cool, realising we were a player down with one survivor preferring to dance on the rocks rather than do gens.

Wish it was huntress. Leave him up there to bleed out.

  • @Pink_Ronin said:

The hit negation is essentially useless already unless you're using it on a pallet. Even if you successfully use Dead Hard in it's current state, if the resources around you have been depleted you're still F'd. The perk is fine, I personally would prefer distance/I-frames like it used to be rather than have any hit-negation/endurance buff at all.

So the magic ignore everything perk? Imagine if killers had that, a dash that ignores all possible stuns and has no downside. Getting 1.8 seconds of speed is great for survivors because the killer is slowed down for the same duration.

This isn’t a simple “oh he can double hit me”. This is a “Great I got to this god pallet and now must force him to spend 2.7 seconds to break it. By that time I’m 20 feet away and at another pallet.

He can do well if you play him well. He is definitely not the strongest but not the weakest.

He requires just more practice than others, that's it.

It would be better to give his Add-ons buffs and reworks though. I love fake pallet Freddy a lot especially on maps with a stupid amount of them, but noise add-ons? Does he really need that?

  • As a Killer i hate that mountain for its obnoxious loops and pallets.

but I feel for you. Who was the killer?

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

Why don't killers just toss the gens over the trial's walls? They're clearly strong enough.

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

I agree with this. The killers that need a addon pass the most is Freddy, Pyramid head, Nemesis and Knight. There addons suck

If they did it like how they did Doctors then it can be good. 4 groups of add-ons that slowly get better with each tier.

  • I mean having a killer who could do that as a secondary power would be funny. Along side just knocking back pallet drops and resetting it. Just a Kind of a chaser without some sort of teleport or speed increase.

  • Never went an against a no TR Myers huh? Able to walk up behind you without even a sound? Because that’s spooky and fun to go against.

Iri Head was in the game for 5 years.

Redhead's Pinky Finger is still around.

    Tombstone Piece is still here.

Fact of the matter is that Killers have always killed more than Survivors have escaped. That's why they act faster.

That’s three Killer Add-ons that have drawbacks and inconsistencies.

Want to counter IRI Head? Duck behind rocks and don’t go for vaults, go for corners. she only had 1. Used to be 3

Just avoid the bottle, it floats like a duck in water so you can avoid it.

    Lockers, that’s all.

Yeah DHs counter is “Wait it out” but it can be triggered by a lot of different things. Just to name a few:

Huntress’s Hatchets, Trickers Knives, Billy’s chainsaw, Bubbas Chainsaw, Demmys Shred, Michaels Tier 3, Oni’s Club, Pigs Ambush, Punishment of the Damned, Lethal Rush, Viktors Pounce, Nemmys Slash, Normal Attacks, and Finally Lunges. That’s 12 killers whose powers can’t be “Wait it out” since they are telegraphed with noises or animations.

Almost all those powers will slow you down to charge them, or had to be earned. They shouldn’t be forced to “Wait it out”.

People really need to watch old gameplay and remember how outrageous Dead Harding for distance was before making threads like this.

The issue now is that it actually gives more distance thanks to the speed boost from getting hit, plus the body phasing you can do with it.

Believe me I had to take a lot of breaks because of old DH (especially DH + COH). But they didn’t nerf it, just changed it. That change made it easier to counter but it also made it harder on killers who already have trouble in chases. Add on the fact that it is easy to heal mending (or heal yourself normally because of medkits) it just gets frustrating to see. Killers don’t have a true parallel to DH in their roster of perks.

No, absolutely not. Sometimes patches will lean in favour of one side or the other, but it would be silly to solely focus on Survivors just because there's more of them in a match. The game does not exist without both sides.

You can’t be surprised however, a survivor QOL roadmap and hud buffs aren’t going to be popular with the killer groups if you don’t also show a roadmap for things killers have been wanting or needing. Mainly just updates on development ideas for some killers who are in limbo like Freddy or Trapper could quell some unrest. Give us a sign that killers are treated with the same amount of care as survivors when it comes to QOL changes or perk changes.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/366378/nerfing-killers-into-the-ground-and-leaving-them-to-languish-why

This one is easy actually, so bHVR does that with considerations to balance and with both those Killers there exist players who play them despite that. Hillbilly had a big fanbase and Deathslinger still does. These are communities of players who knew how to play them and played them well, so it was a thriving community so they could not give Billy a full rework then as they intended. However fanbases dwindle and Hillbilly is so out of date by now. So that means they move up the priority list for a new change.

I Just feel they need to do another Add-on Change for a lot of killers. Half the add-ons on most killers don’t help in the slightest or in the case of the older ones, nerf them for memes and blood points.

I don't think it's something that needs to be "fixed" in Clown's case, there's nothing wrong with a mechanically simple character that has a mostly predictable skill ceiling necessarily. It's fine that Clown doesn't do much, but does it well- and if you want to give him some buffs via new mechanics, I'd sooner see addons for different bottle effects, that'd be more interesting.

As for Trapper, that's a terrible idea for a few reasons. He could use help but there are definitely better avenues to take than that.

Like? Without taking away his kit for a full rework how do you give Trapper the help he needs? All other trap characters start with all their traps, easily can replace them, and have some sort of movement aspect to them. So I was suggesting a way to put him on par with them in terms of utility and movement.

Clown does have different effects on his bottles. With his add-ons Kerosene Can (Blinding I know but it’s there) and Sulfuric Acid Vial (Mangled until Healed). The first one is meaningless unless that person is running Windows, and the second one can be paired with his perk Coulrophobia for a decent degree. I personally want one with Oblivious or Deafening

  • @jesterkind said:

I think it's a pretty open and shut case, personally: Trapper.

No other killer has as much holding them back for as little reward as Trapper, in the current state of the game. Next up from him would probably be Clown, since both of his bottles mostly do the same thing and that thing is only "decent".

Which both have easy fixes too.

Trapper Just needs all his traps at the start of the match, then replace his bags with new add-ons that give him haste if they are triggered.

Clown just needs his yellow bottle to be a drinkable one. He downs it (while tilting his head back a little so he can’t just eyeball the survivor) then gets his speed boost for a decent bit of time. Make it cap at 2 bottles of the speed soda.

  • I think this is one of the most honest posts about how someone feels. Akumakij I think you’re absolutely right about how it feels to play DBD a decent bit of the time.

I myself, am not excited for a worse Knight who feels like a cashgrab sex appeal skin machine.

I got Knight to prestige 6 within like 24 hours of his release and I do enjoy him. I like using him as a mind game machine.

  • I try to do the three first hooks then it’s whoever I happen to find/hate. If the person just unhooked is running a build I find annoying (DH + Boil Over + Maps with Height Drops and no high up hooks) I’ll want them gone. I can deal with a SB Nea or a Gen Monke Ace, but a semi-trolling Bill? I want him gone.

Freddy putting snare at windows and pallets: Am I a joke to you?

Yes he is. Mainly due to his kit not being buffed since his heavy nerf.

  • I Just want to test out a lot of build types with her. Also get her better cosmetic

  • I truly think all they need to do is give him all his traps and replace the bags with add-ons that activate when a trap is triggered/disarmed. Probably Haste.

  • Only if I get to block survivors who use perks I don’t like. That won’t happen because that’s not how the game works.

  • Not much you can do besides return the favor. Not all survivors act like that but those who do are the reason some killer mains (me included in most cases) hate survivors. They act entitled and as if they are gods gift on earth. Just remember that they are actually next to nothing, like most toxic people.

  • @Wexton said:

That's it, that's the post. His add-ons are terrible, like seriously what were they thinking when they made these. Out of all of Freddy's add-ons only a couple can be considered useful, red paintbrush is the only one that's considered good. His dream pallet add-ons are pretty decent, I prefer dream pallets over snares but snares are usually the more viable option. I don't think pill bottle really does anything but I think it's cool I guess, class photo is okay although not being able to cancel your teleport is a huge downside.

Rest of Freddy's addons are straight up just horrible or useless, pretty sure Freddy has by far the worst add-ons in the game. There's not much of a point to this post I just like complaining.

I use Freddy a decent bit due to my enjoyment of hating myself, Dream pallets are amazing to mindgame survivors and if you combine Remember Me with No Way Out you get a extra 100 seconds in the game. I do believe his noise add-ons should be removed and made into teleport speed add-ons though.

  • @Bwsted said:

I won't call it an us vs them post.

    I'll just call it a Dunning-Kruger post.

Killer is objectively the easiest it's ever been, not just comparatively to the past, but also on an absolute scale. If you load into a match playing to win, then you'll win 90% of the time against pub teams. If you don't, you're either holding back, or you overestimate your game knowledge.

I mean to be be fair, killers could use some QOL changes too. .2 seconds is still kinda a whatever compared to a 10 second BT boost. I wouldn’t mind better and more varied but pallet spawns along with changing window spawns. Perhaps even a rework of some of the main buildings. They truly just need to think about ways to help killers that don’t disrupt the game as a whole. The easiest way would be map changes

  • people suck at flash lighting her. So that’s fun to witness

  • It’s so killers don’t use good hook locations like hill tops constantly.

Yes, yes yes! They are so poorly implemented its sad.

I love the breakable vault idea. Maybe there could be a survivor counterpart, where they have to spend time setting up a few really good vaults for ~20 seconds each. Dbd is absolutely STARVED for new gameplay elements, and its sad that the only one added in years serves to just hinder killers in many circumstances.

Breakable floors in some places could be fun.
