The biggest sticking point would be animations it can't avoid needing to have. Things like window vaults, pickup and hooking animations, stuff like that. It'd also need to be roughly humanoid in shape/size, I think, for similar reasons.
Though, BHVR have been inventive within those limitations before, so I still think it's possible. Hell, we had Demogorgon for a while, and that's definitely more monstrous than the average human.
They could always do body horror stuff with it. Like the spider one can have a human look for the legs and lower torso. But spider legs for arms with a monstrous spider face/head. Could have spider legs coming out of its back to dangle the human legs like Nurses while the spider ones actually move the body

BHVR had stats that track addons. They can see what addons are used the most and how much those addons increase or decrease a killers killrate. the most obvious example of when they used this was when they nerfed Marvins Blood.
So, why are Blindness addons still a thing. people do not use blindness addons. i have never used a single blindness addon on any killer in about four years of playing mostly killer. so why does BHVR commit to making GREEN rarity addons apply this useless status affect. even with blindness hiding the hud actions now, that change is nowhere near the rework or buff people have been requesting for this useless status for years.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/H90QVQP2PHRQ/image.png
Skull Merchant, Knight, Mastermind, Dredge, Onyro, Artist. The last six killers have lost an addon slot to this status effect. It being on Purple and Green rarity addons is a ######### joke
I feel like blindness could affect a lot more than just the hud and hooks. Mainly due to most being applied in chase. Which if you’re being chased then you don’t care about your teammate at that moment

Oblivious is good on some killers. Our Resident Well Living Ghost gets good value out of it.

I am trying to help a friend of mine who doesnt have any killers unlocked just the base game killers. so no call of brine, dead locked, eruption, etc. meta perks are available to him.
As a survivor he has access to a variety of good basic survivor builds and has played that role more.
It’s a stretch but Doctor with Overcharge, Lightborn, Monitor and Abuse, and lastly Fearmongler.
Lightborn for flashes and Information.
Overcharge for Gen Regression
Monitor and Abuse for getting the jump on people and better FOV
Fearmongler is good if you come up on a injured survivor working a gen, can counter Dead Hard and Sprint Burst if timed tight.
in the Shrine I do suggest getting Lethal Pursuer. It will be available soon I believe due to the event. Replace Fearmongler with that and run Order add-ons with Control add-ons. Will give you a lot of information to work with
EDIT: Oh, and Merciless Storm will be there too, get that and replace Monitor with it. Docs passive makes MS very good.

This was how I found out. Hopefully it’s not a big deal in the long run.

When you get someone tunneled out fast it's of course always the most effective. But it is insane how many killer i see which are the opinion it is always smart to tunnel the first person out which you downed fast. Just because this person kissed the floor really quick that doesn't mean that this survivor is not good. You have to realise how the down happened. Maybe this surv simply had no real chance at this spot. I have a lot of games where killer downed someone fast and after it they lost the last gen because this killer drived crazy and don't wanted to stop. and he chased on a place where no gens were to protect. I mean nurse and blight is a complete different thing but in general you should not tunnel always.
If I find two survivors and I know that one is on death hook? That’s the one I want out, because if I go after the other one I’m not guaranteed a kill in the end. Know if I’m coming up on the unhooked survivor I’ll hit them then chase the rescuer. I rather have that one forced to mend and heal than just heal.
-
I think the issue with Boons is that they can be replaced and don’t have a limiter on them. If it worked like “If the Boon is snuffed you can’t reactivate it for 120 seconds” then it would be perfectly fine.

Taking this idea from another thread, partially using ideas suggested by @Witchubtet for Territorial Imperative.
I thought about it and may have a solid idea for a rework of T.I. that stays true to its premise. It adds two features, one is just a bit of Hangman's Trick, but the second may be the clincher:
Scourge Hook: Territorial Imperative
* The Aura of a Survivor entering the Basement or moving within 2/4/6 meters of any Scourge Hook when you are at least 32 meters away is revealed to you for 3 seconds.
* Hooking 2 different Survivors on a Scourge Hook gains 1 token
** At any normal hook, consume 1 token to convert it into a Scourge Hook, deactivating an already active Scourge Hook elsewhere in the Trial, chosen at random.
Don't take the numbers too seriously. I'm using Hangman's Trick's distance for the Scourge Hook aura read. I figured keeping the cooldown might be too much. Not sure if the tiers should be the aura distance or the number of Survivors hooked, but I'm inclined to keep it at the distance. The core idea is it offers a way around one of the core issues with Scourge Hooks - the RNG of their placement. You could still get screwed by RNG depending on what Scourge(s) deactivate, but it gives you more control than you have.
Also, since we're on Huntress perks, here's an idea I've had for a while now and once previously posted for Hex: Huntress' Lullaby. It basically flips Huntress Lullaby and gives it Thrill of the Hunt rules.
Hex: Huntress Lullaby
Start with 5 Tokens, 1 for each Totem remaining in the environment. While Hex: Huntress Lullaby is active the time between the warning sound and any healing and repair skill checks is shortened, depending on the number of tokens.
** 5 Tokens: disables the Warning sound.
** 4 Tokens: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -56 %.
** 3 Tokens: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -42 %.
** 2 Tokens: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -28 %.
** 1 Token: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -14 %.
Survivors receive a 2/4/6% Regression penalty on Failed Skill Checks for Repair and Healing actions.
The Hex effects persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed.
The idea is to turn Huntress Lullaby into an early game perk rather than a ramp-up perk. The Thrill of the Hunt token system is to keep it from being the kind of beginner trap that caused OG Hex: Ruin to be reworked by allowing for the ability to reduce its effect for any totems removed from the trial, rather than just the specific Hex. Again, don't take the numbers too seriously, I"m just using the existing ones while knowing there could be room for tweaking
Not sure what to with Beast of Prey yet, though the simplest thing might be "the Undetectable Effect lingers for so many seconds after Bloodlust is lost."
Now we just need to figure out how to get Beast of Prey to be decent. Most Beasts try to tire out their prey as they chase them… perhaps an exhaustion applying perk? I wouldn’t know what would cause it but it could help against the current Metas.

Honestly i think the best approach to the Endurance stacking would have been to introduce a different health state for freshly unhooked survivors. So that OTR still is effective after the freshly unhooked survivor gets hit. But without requiring 5 hits to down him.
On regard of DH, i think that something needs to change. Because lets face it, any killer perk with that pick rate would have been nerfed into oblivion after just a few months. DH however seems to be immune to this approach. Is it more balanced now than before? Absolutely. But the meta shake up missed its target in the regard that survivors should also use other perks.
So with DH being in a pretty good spot, the only option i see (without nerfing DH into oblivion) is to buff other Exhaustion perks to make them more appealing.
I do believe in your statement but I would like to add that if they also buffed the exhausted giving killer perks a little more maybe it can even itself out.

I'd argue that it going from being used over 75% of the time to 1-2 per match (the current stats I've seen flying around is ~40% but I don't know the source nor the accuracy of them, so do take it with a grain of salt, but at least my own experience lines up with that) is a pretty good improvement. Moreover, going from literally uncounterable in every situation to certain is another improvement.
And, what did you expect? With Endurance stacking gone, OTR lost most of it's relevancy, DS was gutted, SC was gutted, IQ was gutted- DH is literally the best perk survivors have, next to UB, Adrenaline, and SB (which can't be used with DH). Obviously it'd see the most useage when it's the best by a long shot, which I think should be an incentive to buff weaker perks instead of just nerfing the most used perks for the sake of nerfing them.
I'm not against further changes to DH, because it absolutely sucks to play against, but can we stop pretending that the nerf did nothing, and that it wasn't a nerf, because it absolutely was and removing DH4D was absolutely phenomenal.
I know that but it just is boggling that it still is so high on the pick rate. Especially come the next survivor perks with blood rush.

I'd disagree, but I'd like to know the general standpoint.
It would be in line with some killer powers like jolt or STBFL. Only triggering on Basic Attacks is normal for some killer perks.

Comments like these are to lighten up the mood on a theme that's been beaten to death. Also, the suggestion was meant to be obviously sarcastic because it won't actually work, you'll just get massive packet loss and your game will become unplayable, hence the no need to bait DH, because you literally won't be able to. Cheer up.
Fun little side note, went back through my achievements and noticed my first ever Adapt was Spirit. September 28th 2018. I Never knew i got it.

Am I genuinely the only person that remembers how abysmal the 4man E to Outplay DH for Distance bullshit was?
Like new DH isn't great but it's still a substantial improvement from something that was literally uncounterable in every situation, and used in over 75% of loadouts.
The nerf did something, I can promise you.
I remember those days too, I started playing in 2017 and remember them very well. It was a madhouse of a sorts, but this change didn’t lower its usage as much as it should have. The fact that it can be used against special attacks is really obnoxious. Since most are decently hard to aim. Even more so on killers like Huntress and Pyramid Head, where you slow down to do the attack.

Rename to "weakened" or "enfeebled", keep incapacitated for complete disable if some killers still need it.

Changing the trigger to a hook has its benefits, but it also starts to step on the toes of other regression perks a little. What I'd personally like to see is actually changing how the information is revealed- instead of survivors who are actively working on the generator, have it be a little range around the generator instead.
That way you'd get more reliable information, and you can choose if it's worth slugging or if you'd want to follow up on the info after a hook. Like I said above, I don't mind if the info half is less of a draw, but I would like to see it be a little more reliable and thematic with the idea of controlling the trial.
I whole heartedly agree.
What is your opinion on the OGRuin effect coming back in some form? Perhaps as a TR perk or a Gen Kicking perk?

To be clear, I wouldn't be against this change being made to Eruption specifically, it's just a pretty bad idea for the Incapacitated status effect since that is extremely important to Twins and relatively important to the few other killers that can use it.
Personally speaking though, I like that they went with more of a hybrid design of regression/info rather than pure regression/regression. I think it could be tweaked a lot more, but I don't think it's inherently bad for the perk to have passive, ambient information instead of a second slowdown effect. Either way, we're on firmer ground talking about Eruption itself rather than the status effect as a whole.
True, what would you suggest be tweaked about the information?
Maybe changing it so it becomes like BBQ? If you hook the survivor before twenty seconds all effected by Eruption will have their auras shown for ten seconds? Making a Killer work for a stronger effect and it only effects those who got hit by the regression first?
-
@jesterkind said:
Well, remember that Incapacitated is not primarily the Eruption effect, it's an effect that Eruption also uses. Incapacitated is primarily the Victor effect, and if you could work on generators - even if with reduced inefficiency - while holding Victor, that would be a gigantic nerf to the Twins that they absolutely don't need.
The problem is truly just that Eruption never should've used an effect designed for a specific killer's power. That's not to say Incapacitated can never be used anywhere else, since it also applies to a few other killers at this point, but even release Eruption was in hindsight a problematic design.
As for changing Eruption itself, I don't mind if the secondary effect is lacklustre. The main draw of Eruption is the regression, and since that PTB change isn't hitting live, I think the perk's in an acceptable spot.
Considering the placement of the twins in the picking pool it’s hard to say anything about them. I for sure would never want to actively nerf them however.
Im just under the mindset of “If it’s unnecessary then why have it” Aura reading is amazing but has its moments when you don’t need it. After a hook? Yes. After a Save? Yes. After a down on specific generators? Not so much. It’s like survivor’s getting the killers Aura for a few seconds after they’ve hooked their friend. You already know the killer was over there. You didn’t need that information and is only good with certain killers who can move fast.
That’s why I’m an advocate for keeping a form of slow down so the killer can worry about the hook more than the auras of survivors that will be gone by the time the downed one is hooked.
I do appreciate the feedback.
-
Bloodlust is needed for when the map looks like the back room of a Home Depot. If you notice the killer getting into bloodlust then just drop a pallet and book it, or vault a safe window away from them. Bloodlust is just like the SB survivors get on getting hit, it’s to help in their particular way.

I'm saying that the current one is bad, and so will your changes. The one thing leverage has going for it, is that it will stack with other forms of healing reduction. So it'll mean forever legion is probably back. lol.
And then it will be nerfed to stop that. Making it the No Mither of Killer perks.
It also has a 30 second time limit can requires other survivors to be injured to even be useful. Like it could work well with old Thana but that’s long since dead.

I edited my post, read it now. But 5% isn't enough, and if you make it stronger it doesn't really make it useful either.
I mean it’s better than the garbage that Leverage is now. I rather slow down a gen for a bit even if it only adds 9 seconds onto it, then have a perk that needs 5 tokens to be effective.

Right, but first of all- that first one is just not liking it. That's an opinion, there are people who dislike the way she looks for that stated reason.
The second is only true because she's weak, and even then she's not that good at 3-gen strategies compared to the average killer. The response is to buff her, which, there's no way they won't. Whether it's enough is one thing, but let's keep sight of what we're talking about here.
The third is... yeah? So many chapters have weak perks. These ones aren't even that bad, they're just decent for the most part. That's not a reason to call for even an official comment, let alone call for them to say they're changing everything.
Two of those three, the second two, are also the things that BHVR do comment on.... in the post-PTB patch notes. That's where that comment goes, that's where they say "here's what we're changing". It's not new, there's nothing that warrants changing the way they do these things. It's just, the PTB has some balance problems. That's half of what the PTB is for.
I feel like the main issue with her perks are they are highly situational to the point that her synergy would require a whole build. The only perk I even like is the obsession perk because it will be good with Rancor, Remember Me, and No Way Out.
Even more so after they just gutted Eruption so badly that it most likely will go from 40% (not accurate but for the argument we’ll say 40%) to maybe 6% or lower. So killers hoped for perks that can at least help sup the hole in the meta. That being a decent slow down with some chase. We got two pretty meh perks and one that is so bad that people are calling it the No Mither of killer perks.

This post contains all sorts of delusional entitlement. NO(!!!) DC penalty for survivors? Great! Now they DC whenever they mess up, play against a killer they don't like, play on a map they don't like, play against a perk they don't like the list is long. The core reason for DC penaltys is that survivors are not just DCing where it's appropriate, but because the devs are very aware of the entitlement of this playerbase. This community complains about everything anyways. No they are not promoting toxic gameplay by not allowing you to DC without a penalty. The Devs stated multiple times by now that camping is NOT a bannable offense and thus you have no right to DC whenever you please. And guess what? The campers also spent their hard earned money on it but I know, I know. It's hard for you to think about anything else other than "me, me, me" which is exactly how your post reads like. It's always about you, never about other players. That's why you also shame killers who can't afford good internet. I mean you actually think that you should be entitled to DC when killers have bad internet... like what? Also if you think that this community is more toxic than League players you are massively delusional. The killer is not there to cater to your own fun, they play this game to have fun themselves. If winning is the very thing that's fun for them so be it. Your argument of the TCM dethroning this game is also sooo original. It's not like that has been said like 10 times in the past. Oh, Last Year: The Nightmare, Friday the 13th, VHS, Evil Dead: The Game is finally gonna kill DBD. I am looking forward to this game but again: Thinking that a single horror IP will dethrone DBD is so delusional, I'm honestly baffled about ridiculous claims like this. Also: The killer is not the host of the game. You are playing on dedicated servers. You should stop blaming killer players for all your problems you have in game. And the killer having a bad connection is not holding your hostage. If you don't want to support the game then leave. You are clearly not enjoying this game anymore.
And just in case you are saying that I just wrote my post because I'm an entitled killer main that searches for an excuse for camping or tunneling or having a bad connection: I am playing with highspeed ethernet and camping and tunneling are not my preffered playstyles because it's boring as hell but I do understand why killers do it (which you clearly don't). Peace
Can I copy your post and put it on a T-Shirt?

Yup, but what are you gonna do? Can't completely scrap all trap Killers. At least this one's got some stealth potential... if it didn't require standing in a time-limited bright glowing area to get it. <_>
That’s my issue with her. WHY does she give so much information to survivors? It would be the equivalent of Hags traps having the ashy aura be seen by survivors so they know not to go there. Turn that off for survivors and have them actually look around for the drones manually. Like with any other placement Killer power.
-
The fact that the new Survivor hud can let people who run this know they can take a hit, get the hit boost and then heal and get a sprint burst is busted.
And everyone who says “it only helps in the endgame” has clearly not seen how it counters end game perks for killer. Or just outright undo progress that killers have made.

I mean that's the duality right? You can be Hag near the top or Trapper near the bottom.
Right now SM unfortunately is admittedly closer to Trapper but they don't have to stay that way, I think if they buff her stealth and let her setup drones faster so she feels more fluid along with a few add-on adjustments because dear lord iri manuscript is an abomination she'll be a solid midpoint between Hag and Trapper.
I feel like taking away the aura the drones put up should be a start. That plus the icon telling you that your being watched is WAY to much information for survivors to have.
-

Honestly all the people that prefer chase killers can suck it up plain and simple. We get 3-4 chase killers every year where as those of us that like set up killers haven't gotten one since hag all the way back in 2016. We can have one new setup killer 7 years later can't we?
They just need to buff SM's numbers a bit so she can do things besides 3 gen and she'll be great.
It’s just that set up killers (believe me I love my Trapper) don’t have enough going for them in most cases. So people are rightly worried SM will meet the same fate. People for years have been calling for Trapper to be buffed by just giving him all his traps, Freddy’s Snares are useless now, only Hag has true viability but she can be defeated by a flashlight.
If they just addressed issues with the trap killers I feel like SM could be more well regarded.

Or lower the amount of gens that can be erupted, or just remove it's ability to work with 1 gen left instead. 15 second entity block + 60 second cooldown is as bad as we have it now btw, you didn't "fix" it.
I also Said only effects two gens. Also entity blockers aren’t as harsh as incapacitated or as dumb as aura reading on downs. The cool down is so it can’t be abused constantly, but gives killers 45 seconds to focus on a chase or check on the third gen. It also gives survivors time to work on the gens without the fear of eruption.
-
I feel the same way. It’s even worse when places like YouTube constantly show you streamers who make a living off of being overly toxic to killers.
I constantly take long four month long breaks from DBD. Longest was Oct 2021-Nov 2022. I only came back for the perk shake up and currently I’m feeling a little better. I would suggest finding a killer build that punishes bully’s. Enduring, Spirit Fury, Hubris, and Lightborn on Knight and a few others helped me a lot.

Wesker is powerful with it Because his TR is 40. And he has mobility. I think StarStruck is fine if they just gave it an extra power like missed attacks recover faster for the duration.

I’ve played since 2016 and still find it hard to believe how long it takes for certain none character specific metas to move on. Insta-Healing was in the game for a bit, then it was just bad maps with overly done pallets, after that it was DH for years on years.
I truly only remember one meta for killers back in the day. Ruin alongside Old STBFL before both got changed. It wasn’t until November I started to see a kicking Meta truly take place.

Also, jolt and overcharge as alternatives to Eruption? Haha, that's a good joke.
Eruption just needed it's 3 gen power and anti-solo queue stuff changed. Perk helped M1 Killers with no mobility with gen defense, it was perfectly fine otherwise.
