The stranger things perks are now universal perks therefore leveling up steve, nancy, and demogorgon will no longer count towards the prestige perks
yeah, but if you already own the stranger things pack, it still says that it's a teachable and not a universal perk

You’re forgetting that the new Monstrous Shrine also buffs all the outside Scoruge Hooks too. So if I run it with Pain Resonance, for instance, then when I hook someone on an outside hook their timer runs faster, it doesn’t have to be in the basement for that.
not really, i thought scourge hooks stacked, and with honstrous shrine automatically spawning in the basement, wouldnt that make your 4 scourge hooks always spawn in the basement?

Kill rates are too low. That's the reasoning behind it. At high MMR, survivors will win almost every single time. Streamers have managed to get almost 400 escapes in a row. So they want things to be harder for survivors, and I'm sure that CoH didn't help. Whether or not they actually accomplished this is up for debate.
Survivors actually got a massive anti-tunneling buff. BT is now basekit with a slightly shorter timeout, BT itself was buffed, and OTR makes both obsolete by being the most broken survivor perk by several miles, maybe even moreso than DH.
Dead Hard is still almost as useful as it was. It's still OP, just not as much as it was (OTR is taking its spot in that department).
I don't know what kind of killer builds you're using, but mine are all going to have to change, with very few exceptions. Ruin didn't get the slap-on-the-wrist treatment the way CoH and DH did; it was gutted completely to the point of uselessness. NOED is now useless. Pop is an order of magnitude weaker. Corrupt is now useless. Sure, a lot of survivor perks were gutted, but killers didn't get to keep any useful perks aside from the ones that were released to recently to justify a nerf (Deadlock, CoB, and Merciless are still viable).
So... whatever. Complainers gonna complain. I hope that you are right, and killers get a massive buff with all their basekit changes.
my killer build is genuinely, unnerving presence, huntress lullaby, undying and a spare slot. and surprisingly, while obviously not the best for slowdown, is pretty good.

the meta is currently very killer sided (with caulro + thana, and all the survivor meta perks being nerfed into the ground, etc), i never run dead hard or ds or iron will because they are boring perks that lead me to play boring, repetitive games. (dont get me wrong tho, ruin got nerfed into the ground too)
i bring dumb funny perks like any means and blast mine and whatever else, because at the end of the day, it's a game and i don't take it seriously. it's made for fun, but more players would be willing to shake up their build if the game actually gave them a reason to, you know, like making other perks better, and also by changing game elements that makes them need to rely on secend chance perks, the new meta is now just intense slowdown that causes 2 minute heals and 2 minute generators. how is that fun for survivors anymore? and obviously the endurance stacking which is no fun for killers either.
the game is already very killer sided, especially from solo q, the thing that makes the game bad is coordinated swfs (which honestly could be limited to duos instead of full 4 stacks), im good as survivor but thats pretty useless when you have bad solo teammates who let you get tunneled out, vs playing killer and always getting a 4k unless im choosing to give someone hatch.
genuinely, just by the massive nerfs and the new prestige system, im more than likely just going to stop playing if this ptb goes live without them seriously reworking all the errors in it.

Is that universal? I haven't tested but I thought that only applied to Off the Record and Borrowed Time.
Even if it is, MoM already breaks one of the rules about Endurance, I wouldn't be surprised if it also broke this one. However, worst case scenario, MoM got accidentally nerfed, I'd agree that's an unnecessary change.
i believe so, i havent had the means to test it myself, but they havent explicitely said that it isn't affected by it, but it looks like it works the same as new otr. if it isnt affected by cospicious actions then thats worse because itll join the new meta of endurance stacking because bt + otr + dh + mom and a survivor never goes down
-
@jesterkind said:
If all that's done is niche perks are buffed to be a little more useful, nobody would have any actual reason to swap off their meta loadouts; it shifts the responsibility of the "meta shakeup" onto the players to make the choice to stop running the current meta perks even though they're all still perfectly viable and realistically still probably the strongest options.
In order to shake up the meta, people need a reason to swap their builds, and that comes from making their current builds less effective just as much as it comes from making other tools more effective.
(Also, Mettle of Man wasn't nerfed, I'm not sure what you mean by that)
endurance now gets cancelled by conspicious actions, meaning if you're injured and mettle is active, you will lose what you spent 3 protection hits trying to gain. meaning you cant use your endurance anymore to guarantee someone elses safety (like sabotaging a hook, unhooking or healing them while you are endured to take the hit if the killer comes, etc) when thats the entire point of the perk.
-
the most useless killer on earth only used by basement bubba players. it now only benefits people who can get to and from 24m quickly or indirectly camp basement. (hag, demo, trapper, dredge, nurse etc)
ive said this before but none of the killer 'nerfs' changed my killer builds, but my survivor builds will barely survive the update which is somehow supposed to be the point. bhvrs priorities are wacked out.

All I can say is, they wanted to change the meta, but didn't want to change most perks. Even with the ones that were changed, they weren't the best changes.
i get why they would want to nerf the meta perks but it makes no sense on why they didn't just give us better perks.
iron will is useless, ds deactivates after the last gen pops (which will only bring back 99'ing gens), they already had ds last 3s before changing it to 5s because it was too short of a time so why on earth did they change it back to 3s?, endurance cancels if you do a 'conspicous' action which should only apply to off the record, they're going about it all wrong and refusing to listen to peoples complaints about it.

Though it may be true that the new system has reduced the grind for perks(for mostly those who have been playing for a while and not for newer players) but you have made the grind for add-ons, items, and offerings significantly worse. The way I see it is you didn't reduce the grind but only shifted it towards things other than perks. I don't know if you know this but most of the lower rarety addons on most killers are kinda garbage and are not worth running. A lot of your killer's better add-ons are higher rarety add-ons which the new system has made it harder to get since you have to go back to smaller bloodwebs after prestiging. Shoot some killers(aka PH and Freddy) 90% of their add-ons are really bad and they only have one or two good add-ons(those are much higher rarety add-ons). I refer you to otz's addon tier list and you can see a lot of your brown addons on killers are not very good. So yeah you may have reduced the perk grind but after perks, ppl go for add-ons, items, and offerings which you have made that grind much much wrost. None of this wouldn't be that much of an issue tho if you made bbq and wglf bp bonus base kit and rewarded players for doing small side objectives like hooking all everyone at least once in a match or going out of your way to pick up or rescue a dying teammate.
something id like to add is that they removed the bp bonus from bbq so it wouldnt be the deciding factor for that perk but they made meme addons way more common because of the way the new bloodweb works.. and the meme addons usually always have a 100% bp bonus.. guess they didnt think through the "we dont want bloodpoints to be the deciding factor of builds" like yeah but now people are gonna run more bp focused addons because theyre going to get them more over the rarer and actually good addons.

No for sure it isn't hard but 1 minute is a very long amount of time in the game. A lot of things can happen, if you get hooked seconds apart because your team didn't bring BT or didn't take a hit for you? Entirely your fault.
It's in the game, if you're good at getting hooked fast and repeatedly you shouldn't be rewarded with a free wiggle. Your team should at least struggle to body block for you and take damage in the process, just DS on its own in its current state stuns the Killer for FIVE SECONDS.
yes, you're right, but also, on the killers side of it, if you're getting other hooks and injures and all that while someone is waiting out their ds *just in case*, they're being useless for a whole minute. they're not on gens, they're not on totems, they're not healing, they're not unhooking. they're buying the killer more time *just in case* you "tunnel them", or you can just eat it and keep chasing them because while yes, the 5s cooldown is a bit long for killers, its not long enough for them to actually gain distance. (as otz said, high mobility killers like nurse and blight can just redown them immediately with the ptb stun time)

If killers are forced to disable sounds, it's doing it's job.
And if there is nothing killer can do to stop that effect, it's uncounterable.
but its only use is that youll lose them and waste time looking if youre not paying attention. its not hard to just not do that. you can still catch them (via fast or slow vaults, footsteps, grass moving, blood pools, etc), and since most ppl playing the game have good gaming headsets, i dont see how thats an issue, yes it makes it harder but i dont see how thats 'uncounterable'?
edit: quick and quiet also disables sound cues and perks like technician / bite the bullet remove failed skill check notifications (both sound cues for the killer) and yet, those arent 'meta' or considered 'uncounterable', especially since bite the bullet does the same thing as iron will.
edit 2: i just saw otzdarvas clip on the new lightweight and imo thats so much worse than iron will because if you need to break a pallet in chase, you lose the survivor and theres nothing you can do about it and that is so much worse and yet no ones complaining about that lol

ive had this question since they changed the grade reset bps. double iri gets you 2 million bloodpoints yet cap is 1 million? when do they plan on changing it?

This is first time I see someone saying IW is easy to counter.
because it is.
once the killer hits you, you scream out and then you leave no other sounds of pain *while in their vision*, the killer should now know you have iron will and learn to not rely on sounds to track your location - if they lost you in chase, they lost you. if they wasted time trying to find you *based on sounds* that is the killers own fault for wasting time.
if i can't hear someone and i cant see them, i'm leaving the area to find someone else. i'm not wasting time on them anymore. they're gone. pay attention to pools of blood and scratch marks. relying on sound when there is a blatant call out to not do that anymore is stupid and wastes time i can spend patrolling gens.
-
tbh if someone wants to bring easily counterable 'meta' perks (ds, bt, dh, iw) and waste all 4 perk slots (all 16 if all 4 survivors are like that) let them. if they wanna bring boring perks that are predictable, i dont see why we shouldnt let them.
people complain about how ds gets in the way of them securing the kill as if that isnt why the perk is there. they havent had a chance to escape. if you're playing the game right, people with ds, have a useless perk because you're not going after them, its not hard to chase someone else.
a lot of the changes were pretty useless besides maybe noeds
-
i prefer the old prestige because i didnt need to spend millions of bp on people i only wanted perks from. i agree that the lower levels do cut down bp but no one wants the bad brown/yellow addons, unless youre a killer who benefits from that, but so help me god if i have to force buy 20 more toolbox instructions or 30 more course stones im gonna uninstall the game.
not but seriously, the way this new prestige looks to someone whos fairly new to the game and only has a few select characters p3, im genuinely worried for the grinding im gonna be forced to do, sure keeping all items/addons is great, i dont have to lose my halloween items when i prestige mikaela, amazing, but its still dreary to think about everything else on top of that.
the lvl 50 bloodwebs also give you better items, better addons and have more variety, also the "forced to prestige" and "50k tax" is really stupid because lvl 50 bloodwebs /cost/ you 50k, so you have to pay that to prestige AND you get nothing.. how exactly is that "reducing the grind"
i like the p3-100 idea, but its better in theory and honestly not that worth it all things considered. especially since they have not changed how the p3/now p6 cosmetics work; you have to wear some ugly base outfit to flex that youve wasted hours into the game, over doing what they did to plague/nemesis and letting you just have bloody versions of the outfits you do like, when people have been asking for this for a while. (seriously, some of the character i want to prestige have the ugliest base outfits and is the sole reason i havent prestiged them)
also, if im correct, it should still cost roughly same from level to level, because instead of yellow perks, you're now just getting yellow items and so on so forth. the randomness of the perks made it fun, you get to use niche perks as you have nothing else (which also can help eliminate people sticking to the same 4 perks every game, because you find lifting pallets with amn in the killers face is fun and risky)
i feel like an easier way to reduce grind would just to be to remove the bp cap so you can just save up infinitely for whatever purpose you want. i mean seriously, why is cap a million when if you get double iri 1, you get 2 million bloodpoints? just remove the bloody cap already. i understand the cap was put in place for when cheating in bp was much easier, but times have changed old man
also as a part time huntress main, i dont run bbq because i havent leveled bubba up, but i no longer have desire to run that perk due to the bp loss. i play just fine without it, and i knew it'd be a good perk for huntress, but its really not worth trying to get anymore, the bp bonus was a crutch to what made that perk better over others, same with wglf

Escaping before all gens were finished when it wasn't only one person left was busted.
I totally agree but I also think to an extent, the killer has some control over it like bringing Franklin's if they're carrying it in the lobby. I mostly wish you could find hatch as easy as it was before since even when the exit gates are powered, hatch doesn't spawn so it feels impossible to find it before EGC and if your teammates leave, if you get downed, it's instadeath with no second chance.
-
Honestly, the hatch changes really sucked, I think they should've nerfed it but not delete it entirely, I wish they'd change it back.
-
I think it's fair to an extent but it's really disheartening when you miss the skill check and missing the skill check disables it so you don't get a second chance on your second unhook.
If you don't like bringing DS, don't. Some people do. Doesn't mean it should be deleted entirely.
-
Honestly, that's a fun way to look at it but it's not great when every game I double pip up from, I get 3 where I de-pip and when wait times take 10 minutes. It also takes the fun out of it if any second chance perk just goes with the wind and does nothing and there's no way to defend yourself (BT, DS, etc) There's some games where I don't mind dying because it's a lost cause and I can't be bothered getting hatch.
Btw, nice name OP ;)

I saw someone else comment this but DBD is a collection of horror, characters like Michael Myers, Ghostface, Bubba, Amanda, Pinhead, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, debateably Elm Street (the pedophile ruined his entire character imo), even Ash from Evil Dead, they're all characters that defined horror to an extent. I know why they haven't done it yet but I think getting Jason would be more important than some creepy furry who neglected his family to kill kids (even killing his own kids at some point)
Also yeah, a lot of the fanbase are cringe kids and 'they've grown up!!!'.. No, they really haven't, they haven't matured at all. They still worship Scott and the ground he walks as if he's not beating a dead horse. (I've always had an issue with the fact he's said FNAF was going to be his last game and if it wasn't successful he'd quit making games - only to make his "last game" have lore that's worth like, 8 more games and 20 books? Who does that?) and a lot of the fanbase that did mature stopped caring about FNAF.
I don't like trickster either - gameplay and lorewise, he had a lot more potential than he was given, but Legion actually has a good lore and I like how it ties into Jeffs, but the gameplay of Legion was a bit disappointing. Also, if you're calling Legion 'edgy teenagers with knives', you'd be saying that to ghostface too, since that was the inspiration and (while not the canon DBD version), Stu and Billy were also high schoolers.
That's not the point - the reason DBD and FNAF don't work is because FNAF was originally a point and click survival game, while DBD is literally 'run-for-your-life' survival game. FNAF had several locations that you couldn't move from, the closest to being able to move was FNAF 4 when you could move around the room but not leave it. FNAF (until the recent game which was unfinished, buggy as crap and was about stealth, not outsmarting the killer in chase) was about sitting still and locking yourself away from the killer, not running away. There's nothing in any FNAF game that even remotely makes sense in a DBD scenario. There's also already several bunny skins if that's what you really want (4 for legion, huntress obviously, bunny feng min, clown has an elephant/chicken outfit, etc)
Overall, Scott is weird, homophobic and is milking FNAF and sometimes I feel like Michael is a weird self insert. In all seriousness, if FNAF ever came to dbd, I'd disconnect anytime I got in a game with that killer. If DBD had any self respect they'd keep that burning pile of crap away from their game. (He called himself 'pro-life' after making millions of dollars off murdering children so.. That's weird.)
