It's funny because almost every patch this year has had killer buffs in it, one minor change to a perk status and they start kicking up tantrums.

Killer will and always will be easy, while it isn't as easy as Survivor it's still not an arduous task to get kills and pip.

Here we go again… an entitled survivor main turning a blind eye on any killer nerf and survivor buff.
One buff to one side doesn't mean anything if there are 2 nerfs in the very same patch.

What exactly am I supposedly entitled to?
Simple fact is, Borrowed time is a counter to campers + tunnelers. It's so incredibly easy as a camping killer to hit the unhooker and hit them again, you still get a hook but you're so upset about the injured survivor getting away and having a chance at surviving.

Why is it so hard to understand that people are actually competent enough to win without camping? As someone who plays killer and can reach rank one without camping the entire rebellion around Borrowed Time changes are absolutely lost on me because no one has to play like that at all.

    Oh survivor main btw

I think the only people that are upset about this are the ones that use it everyday on people who have differing opinions to that of their own.

    Look up the word "would"

I don't see how that changes anything, you state that the survivors you get are more likely to do gens if you camp, and then call them "depip" squads for doing their objective, lol.

I find that camping works more often with SWF.

Idk what kind of survivors u get, mine are more likely depip squad's and would just pump the gens if I would camp someone

    "doing gens = depip squad"
Do you want to know why you're depipping? Because you're camping and letting the other survivors pump out gens.

In my opinion its a lot better to express disagreement with a simple downvote isntead of leaving some sort of messages around.

You're asking me as if I have any say, I'm just stating what they did.

It's just a button, it's far easier to just ignore peoples posts you don't like or have an opinion on.

And what did they give killers in return? Ah yes, more nerfs. The survivor escape-rate was already way to high considering they do not even need to escape to win in the first place.

If you corner a survivor and you go on a vacation to Portugal, then the survivor has no way to end the game other then to be forced to disconnect.

Posts like this make me miss the LOL option.

I'd love to meet the player daft enough to deliberately leave their console or PC running while they go off to Portugal.

When the hell did they get rid of the LOL button and why?

@Peanits Explained in another post - basically people were setting up bots & alt accounts to go around auto Lol'ing comments for certain users of the forums. It basically became the "Downvote" button.

If you're going to bodyblock until someone is dead that isn't too long and I would see that as fine

Me too. That is why I think settling with a full hook timer for the bodyblockTimer is appropriate.

So while I find your reasoning for "taking the game hostage" pretty silly

What reasoning do you mean? The reasoning that letting a survivor stand there for hours is bad and should be solved through script, not bans?
Or do you believe I stated that cornering and bodyblocking for a prolongued amount of time is an effective strategy? I've never said such a thing.

    The whole

"If 2 survivors are dead, 1 is hooked and you bodyblock the last one, than you can validly do so for the entire time the other survivor is hooked if you wish to do so."

How often does this scenario actually happen, where you need to body block someone for an entire hook death?

  • Body blocking is fine.
Taking the game hostage (an excessive amount of bodyblocking) is not fine.

If you're going to bodyblock until someone is dead that isn't too long and I would see that as fine, I think it's bad gameplay because as soon as that person is dead you hit the other and the last person gets a free speed boost and could find the hatch and hop out, whereas if you just hit them while the guy is hooked you have the chance to get both of them.

So while I find your reasoning for "taking the game hostage" pretty silly, I do think the scenario you've given would be a fine amount of time to block someone in a corner (although I don't see why, killer is easy).

  • DCing is logged and players have to hit a certain threshold before being punished.

while you don’t see anything the backend is recording it all, they’ll be dealt with if need be.
  • 1. What platform are you on?

    2. Reporting in game is enough for an offensive communication report (unless done through XB/PS network, if so report their player card to Sony / MS)

    3. Bans are done manually and thus won’t be instant, you should probably just relax and avoid the player/block them on the platform you play on.

If you're talking about the recent DC bans they're logged by a system and have absolutely nothing to do with malicious reports, and given the amount of new moderators they're getting, it's pretty evident they do manual bans as opposed to automatic bans except for the DCs.

My friend didn't leave the game maliciously, nor cheated, 20 hours player

Only because he won the competition of four people in multiple teams, he was banned when he was reported.

He is a killer, the other 4 are personal voice communication team

We do not ban on reports alone - video evidence is a requirement.

Here is the post regarding what is/isn't bannable and the evidence that is required: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest

You're the best mod ever! :)

Wow dude, I see how it is. Good luck putting the toothpaste back in the tube.

Well this is the most confusing notification I’ve ever received 🤔

  • I don’t think it really changes anything.

if you’re one of those killers hanging out by the hook and you’re actively hitting the one coming off the hook it’s highly suggestible that you’re probably tunnelling anyway, it just means your have to put a little effort into hitting that person again to down them.

Which 9 times out of 10 the person (from what I’ve seen) gets hit before they even run out of BT Timer. So while I do accept it makes tunnelling a little harder (you have to chase and hit instead of just chase) I don’t think it alters much.

I do think it should be classed as a healing action though so it has some counters, but currently where it is applied (BT) you’re likely being tunnelled and going down regardless.
  • I for one won’t be getting off gens and running into lockers when someone goes down tbh.

i don’t think the change will be huge and I don’t camp anyway so 100% not affected by this change, I suspect other killers will soon see this too.

survivors get way too many advantages anyway, giving killers a bonus offering would pretty much allow us to get moris and map selection or bonus points in 2 categories or just tons of bp to make up for playing the killer role. My issue with swf isn't them being toxic, it's from them being good and coordinated and ending the game faster I hate waiting in lobby 15 minutes for a 3-4 minute gen rush and I'm not gonna just get noed/bloodwarden just because the devs won't balance objective time discrepancy .

I don't understand this mentality. I'm someone who refuses to dodge lobbies because I think SWFs are fun to play against.

And you stating that SWF is the reason that gens get done so quickly is so obtuse. When you play against solos they don't suddenly not do gens because they're on their own, they're likely to play the game just as is.

and another note, if you get looped an entire match by one survivor, that isn't an SWF issue thats a killer issue. If one person keeps your attention an entire match and the other three do gens it's got nothing to do with SWF.

I think it's getting silly now that everyone is blaming SWF when they aren't that much different from solo, except they kind of sort of know where the killer is, and when I play killer i've never really found that to be an issue.

  • Feng is bae & for killer I play all of them.

  • Ooooor it's that some things take longer to fix than others?

So you're really saying people dont run moris in normal games that often? I see moris AND flashlights all the time. 2/4 survivors carry them.

Maybe dont take PTB seriously to where moris bother you? You're not earning or losing a thing there. It's literally to test EVERYTHING with the new killer/survivor.

Ntm, if the PTB is so toxic, why not just, idk, not play in it and let the people who want to see the moris and flashlights do it? You're not forced to.

I am 100% not bothered by what happens in PTBs (I never actually said I was) but I'm also not blind enough to see that PTB because impossible to play after a day because the lobbies are dead because no one else wants to be morid 10 games out of 10.

KYF is there for a reason, go 4 man mori and flashlight your friendos. ez pz

Yea dude, normal games like getting morid 10 out of 10 games, that actually doesn't happen, and like I said, they actually lose the items and moris in the main game but suffer no consequences in the PTB.

  • @Carpemortum said:
Didnt ask for proof, or source, I asked why would they. They want to get rid of things that are instant, like the flashlight I agree with. But healing, when it depletes the medkit is a tradeoff. You didnt lose your flashlight when youd insta blind did you?

Jesus christ, are you literally just trying to argue or what?
I never said I agree with what they said at all, I simply stated I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

  • @Carpemortum said:

Why would they nerf instant heals when they just nerfed healing time? It is a one time use that depletes the entire medkit...?

because the devs literally said they wanted to do away with things that are "instant".

  • @Carpemortum said:
Not all killers have the same height or camera/blinding locations. Some like huntress can even hit at range while blinded if you're good.

    What relevance does this have?
You point and shoot, it's all about timing, considering all killers have the same pickup time it won't take you very long to figure out how to blind a killer.

To say they should be removed because it's only going to foster BM matches, why not remove them from the entire game....or remove everything from ptb except the new killer and survivor perks? Because people will be toxic if they want to. Flashlights, moris, noed, DS, or whatever the killer/survivor complaint is about being op/toxic.

Noed & DS are perks that actually alter gameplay, whereas Mori's just make things faster, without actually changing anything except the amount of hooks it takes to kill, and flashlights only serve (at least in PTB ) to annoy people.

While in the PTB you can use this stuff as much as you like, where as in the main game it has a limit which is why it's stupid to say "waahhhh if it's bad in ptb it's bad in main game". I honestly don't understand your points.

Removing those wouldnt end toxicity in the PTB...

This isn't about "ending toxicity" it's about making the matches on par with what you'd come to expect from the main game, instead of having almost every match being a mori/flashlight fest.

because even on the PTBs people run killers that aren't the new one and run their most OP builds just to piss people off, leave moris in KYF so people can see it but nuke them for public matches.

Same goes for flashlights, they're ran to annoy people, the PTB usually ends and within a week/two weeks the dlc comes out, you aren't going to get much practice blinding the new killer in the PTB.

It just adds unnecessary annoyances when we're supposed to be testing for bugs / imbalances.

Don't forget insta-heals. Its always enjoyable running into players that spam that #########.

Seriously I just wished they locked that sort of stuff out for public testing.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised is instas are nerfed in this patch tbh.

  • @Carpemortum said:
Imbalances include all gameplay mechanics right? Who's to say the new killer perks arent based on flashlights OR Moris?

They're gameplay items, and if it's a balance test, all should be able to be tested. Firecrackers? No, they're not actually in the real game anymore.

Flashlights & Moris are the exact same in every match they have absolutely nothing that alters them, if you want to mori people you could run Devour Hope or whatever in the PTB.

and OBVIOUSLY if moris or flashlights are affected by their perks then don't lock them out, it's not rocket science. They're just unnecessary things that people run so they can be as annoying and harsh as possible in the PTB, which is why PTBs are usually dead within a day because no one likes being morid every match and nobody likes being flashlighted every match.

If you are good enough at her (and you're not on like...Lery's or Haddonfield), yes, yes she is.

You struggled against marths depip squad sooo

Bruh it was literally the sweatiest team on the planet, I didn't use Iridescent Head, or Instathrow, or Ruin, and I was on Swamp of all maps...with Huntress. Also I still won.

Obviously yeah it was hard as balls but there's pretty much 0 teams that try that hard. A normal SWF can be destroyed by a good Huntress.

gratz on beating the depip squad at that time when they ran without perks and toolboxes

It wasn't him that brought it up lmfao, regardless - A LOT has changed with the game since their "experiment" and I'd doubt they'd do as good now as they did then.

  • As far as I know the way things work is the game loads all of the killers assets, that's why it used to be super easy for killers to hack while most survivor hacks were speed/perk related.

I would reinstall the game if that's possible, sounds like your pallet files might be corrupted or just didn't load properly for you.

Can we not pretend everyone is running around with d strike insta heals to counter "insta billy" like, people can run whatever they want, but I don't see why every conversation has to end up being a pissing contest between which side has the most annoying things.

Because the user is making a point that flew completely over your head. Both sides have addons and/or perks that are annoying to play against. This in and of itself does not justify a nerf just because of a few whiney children who think the game should adapt to their needs.

It would be neat. It's certainly possible, as we've seen in the Red Forest, although performance is always a concern. Too much flashy stuff going on at once is likely going to cause performance issues on lower end systems. Animating all the corn in a map so it reacts to the wind, for example, might be a little much.

I do think it could add a bit of variety to the game though. A change of scenery can be refreshing.

I couldn't agree more, it would be nice to have some more sensory. However, the developers could introduce a render distance or have the effects take place on the client side to fix the problem.

Client side wouldn't help tbh, and considering how small everything is, forcing a render distance will make the game REALLY ugly and unfun, imagine a nurse coming from out of the render distance and trying to catch a survivor, she would never see them, and they would never see her, same goes for hillbilly.

Of course it doesn't matter, if you're a bad killer you'll find any excuse instead of just admitting it.
Again, I'd have survivors run self care over pretty much most meta perks because it doesn't change balance at all, the maths is irrelevant considering the silly little scenarios you come up with to "prove your point".

The only time self care is useful is
    1. You get unhooked so you can heal
    2. You lose the killer

in both of these scenarios you're likely to find a way to heal whether you have self care or not. Again, if you keep losing survivor and SELF CARE is the "reason" you lose you ARE bad at this game.

but yes, keep bringing up maths because that totally means you're right

    :thonk:

I have no issue with selfcare, every survivor I play against can run selfcare and it won't bother me, if self care is the reason you're losing you're just a bad killer, stop losing injured survivors it's not that hard lmfao.

I never said that NOED counters the hatch - he asked what the "safety net" mechanic for killer was and I said that NOED is the killer's safety net. I then went on to argue that NOED is more of a safety net/crutch than the hatch, and also that it's easier to secure kills with NOED than it is for the last survivor to escape through the hatch, giving reasons for both viewpoints.

If you want to read my arguments above and then bring up more points to refute them, I'm more than happy to discuss the issue further. I'd just rather not have to repeat myself, that's all.

Hatch can still open if everyone is alive with a key (this is why hatch is bullshit because no you dont need to be last. Before the buff I wouldnt consider it a crutch because you would have to of invested some BP into the RNG based bloodweb leveling system but now it makes my blood boil when i do play survivor and havent been downed the entire game because of how ######### the killer is just to get [BAD WORD] a NOED tier 1.

That actually is untrue. It will not spawn unless there are X+1 generators done where X is alive survivors. So a full team would need to power 5 generators and then use a key.

There's no "hatch issue" as far as I know. It's those who make up this issue who have a problem with it.

1.Why do survivor have a free game mechanic that is made to rob the killer of a deserved 4K?

2.Why does the killer not have any free game mechanic that is made to avoid that 4 survivor escape?

3.Why does the hatch open if anybody else already escaped?

4.Why has the survivor the upper hand in a hatch stand off?

1: you don't deserve it as much as you think if you do nothing to prepare for it.

2: Killers do. Slug the last 2. Or even 3. Or stand on the hatch. Or near it and grab the survivor as they jump in. Or know where it is, and try to intercept the survivor. Especially with a one hit down killer, or perk like Rancor, or some such.

3: you got me here. It's kinda annoying when they go out of their way to hatch play. Especially when the gate is way more viable.

4: I don't believe they do. Just mind game them. Bait them into trying for the hatch, then grab them. Or stand on it, and do something else.

1.How does a killer not deserve it? Did the other 3 die from old age? Actually I am fine with a 3k IF I could get a similar mechanic for killer to avoid 4 escape.

    • Actually nothing you said answered the question. Please reread the question, because I don't think you actually thought that through.

    • Thanks we can agree at least on one point.

    • The hatch stand off is a game of stubbornness. If the killer swings, he lost. His only chance is to grab. Perks can't be the answer to this question, since the survivor doesn't need any perks for this either.

There is rumored to be a game mechanic where the killer never decreases in power throughout the game, whereas survivors get exponentially weaker when they're eliminated...

Some say the hatch is to counterbalance that because it was never about "deserving" anything...

Seems crazy, right? Something to stop everyone surviving, it's almost like you have an entire match to kill people or something, lol.

  • My Tier List Is As Follows;

IF YOU'RE GOOD WITH THAT KILLER YOU'LL PROBABLY DO JUST FINE.

1 … 97 98 99 100 101 … 124
