And how is that not a bait?

Half the time someone comes sprinting over trying to heal you anyway. The only time it really matters is when you're the only survivor left.

Lucky you :( And I'm forced to chase them to another part of the map until they finally see me and try to heal when I don't bring SC with me. Though, if you have lots of medkits, it's easily replacable, but risky because of Franklin's Demise.

I agree with increasing the BP cap to 2 million it really sucks if you don't get any good benefit from being high level.

There shouldn´t be a cap at all.

If there would be no cap, people would have a p3 characters with every single perk as soon as it comes out

But there are tons of people who've lost their progress and now have lots of millions of bloodpoints. And people also get this in the first days anyway. Not to mention 4X Bloody Party SWFs with WGLF (~100K per match if they're grindy enough).

To be fair, it should be habit for survivors to take down unlit totems to prevent NOED. So not having them lit up wouldn't be all that big of a deal. It would also give hex users a fairer chance instead of loosing their totems less than a minute into the game.

And I agree but it would still kill off players as most would dc as soon as someone at full health is insta downed

Why won't you break all the totems out there, if they're always unlit, and totem perks are meta (though, I doubt it). Searching for all totems takes ~80 seconds for one survivour, which is much faster if 2~3 will do it. It's not that hard.

  • I'd like too see it back too. Right now, if you realise, that you want to buy a perk, you should leave your lobby, get this perk, and start searching for a lobby again. Why would they move it here, when they could leave it on the same place, so you can buy any perk and immidiately level up.

  • Situation:you have no Self Care, one survivour is dead, one is being chased, you're injured. Instead of selfhealing for 24 seconds, you run around the map searching for another teammate or a chest (good luck getting a medkit or even a closed chest). And no, Bond doesn't help at all here, because of it's 32 meter radius which is OK on smaller maps, like Gideon Meat Plant, and absolutely unusable on larger ones, like Pale Rose or Lery's Memorial Institute. Good luck finding that survivour! And you could've just healed for 24 seconds and started repairing already, or even saved that chased guy from being downed!

Oh, and have fun playing with BBQ without ability to self-heal.

  • Oh, ranking system... In fact, rank doesn't mean anything for one player, because there are tons of high ranked dummies, who were just boosted by SFW. But rank does separate more skilled players from less skiller. Kind of... Current ranking system is purely "how much you play DbD" or "If you don't suck, you'll get to R1 eventually". Seriously, I see a LOT of people who have no coordination or skill at rank 7 atm. And I've played with these SWF boosted guys, who just keep dying and play wrong. they can't even hold killer in a chase while having sprint perks and their beloved DH, which is totally useful (sure).

  • Also, mods've asked this question a couple of times way before new forums appeared on Steam forums.

Also, this community is 99% rotten, so it's kinda too late to try saving it.

I remember that in the old report system the devs explicitly stated that they removed MLGA from the whitelist and that its forbidden now.

Well the devs do their job to make the community even worse than

By "now" I meant exactly that moment. Whitelist just made sure that you'll never get banned by EAC for it. that's it. If this isn't in the whitelist, it doesn't mean that this will get you banned.

  • In the screenshot, you probably were just repairing with your teammates and got silver~gold in gens, then you escaped so at least gold, then base bronze in altruism, since you've saved the hooked one, and bronze~silver for some chasing.
    Let's count:
    3 points for gens
    3 points for escaping
    1 point for altruism
    2 points for chases
9 points total => you pip. Considering that you did NOT pip, you, most likely, didn't repair much for getting gold lightbringer and didn't win the chase and got only bronze Evader.
Also, you wondered how solo players do out here. I'm mostly playing solo and I pip a lot, except games where I don't do much useful things, such as repairing, or chasing, or perform unsafe unhooks.

    @Marvel said:
Yea I agree and the game does not reward you for playing stealthy and getting out. You must getting chased and save at least 1-2 survivors in order to pip which is weird because if you think about it you would want to stay unseen and not die but that's not how the game works xP You get points for actions and not for staying passive.

Excuse me, it does. And does it good. If you're playing stealthy enough, you'll escape without getting downed (4 points), and will be busy repairing gens while your teammates are busy chasing and saving each other which will end in you repairing a lot of gens (4 pints also). If you were stelathy and evaded killer good enough, you'll also get at least 1 evader point, and there's also base point for saving people. You get a pip, but if you don't that means that you were not playing stealthy, you were just sitting in a corner, waithing for your team to repair gens and open the gates.

I think that Self Care should be made a base skill for EVERY survivour, 80% of people use it anyway, so why not make it 100? Ofc, game must be balanced around it then, but mostly because of it's not using a perk slot anymore. Because right now close to endgame not having self care means that survivours are doomed, ut if they do - there's no stopping them, including hatch situations. Including this into survivours abilities will finally allow devs to nerf surviours, considering they are able to use self care. Now they just can't, since some people don't use it.

Though, it's just an idea that's not anywhere near good, it might be a solution to self heal problem.

No, self care takes perk slot to not give survivors more free perk slots. It's 16 vs 4 so stop right now.

SC is needed in game, and the game is designed with this perk in everyone possession in mind.

As for those situations : devs said they don't like situations themselves, so they are you be reworked

The only Nerf needed is heal in killers face thing and times. Times are worked on right now.

Oh, and it should not cuck Freddy so hard. It is most meta perk all time, you can't have it directly counter killers ability

I believe, Freddy's problems with SC will be solved with the next balance patch (though, devs' buffs are always so unpredictable and they might make a perk/addon solution LOL).

  • I don't use it because it's really not as good, as people make it look.
1)Ruin's totem can spawn right near the survivour with you being on another part of the map, leading to you playing with 3 perks and survivour having 1K bp.
2)Repairing through Ruin doesn't make you much slower at repairing gens: you get ~4-5 skillchecks which leads to you repairing a gen for 35 seconds longer IF you hit the normal zone, which doesn't really make a difference, since first 2~3 gens will pop early anyway.
3)To have it working you need to defend it. If you won't defend it, it won't last for a long time, but if you'll try to defend it, it'll only help survivours find it, and you'll waste your time not chasing survivours that are actually repairing.

I'll better take some chase oriented perks or something else, instead of super risky nothing, and try to play agressive, instead of hoping that survivours didn't find your totem yet and wasting time on cheking your totem.

I think NOED is helping me to delay the game more than ruin, since it needs all 5 totems to be broken. But if survivours didn't waste their time on totems, you'll save your time instead. this perk actually is a win-win, but not Ruin.

Though, I don't usually use it in my builds, since I try to make as many early hooks/kills as I can.

  • There's only one answer to that hell: your PC is trash, or broken. But you might want to try updating drivers.

  • I'm a solo survivour and I think that my teammates are ALWAYS dumb. They do things that sentient creatures would never ever do. Example: you have a survivour that doesn't have BT running to the hook with the killer. He unhooks and now there are two hooked sruvivours, YAY. Another one: I'm running with the killer ~for two minutes now. No gens done in that time. After I finally end up hooked they manage to repai one single gen. Another one: You've got Myers Tier 2, and a survivour t-bagging in the middle of nothing in his LOS. He'll be dead in a second. And I'm not aven talking about Hag... They manage to crawl on UE to the hook area, stand up, start unhhoking and get interrupted by the Hag that just've teleported here. Hag puts a trap next to the pallet? Let's just loop here and get downed, YAY!

  • Bloodlust never goes up to 3 and rarely it even reaches lvl 1 for a second. Why? Because it deosn't help palletlooping at all and only punishes survivorus who try to juke and play smart - their chase style doesn't include breaking pallets, so killer manages to get BL3 and gets a speed boost for doing nothing about this survivour. Seriously, you need to chase a survivour for 45 seconds without breaking LOS, so without breaking pallets. I can' imagine pallet looping without you actually breaking pallets, so...

  • As for survivour perks, I'd reccomend Urban Evasion and Balanced Landong from Nea (free), Adrenaline from Meg (free) Self Care (it's the best perk in the game, and it's in ~80% of surviovur builds), Empathy from Claudette (free), Unbreakable and Borrowed Time from Bill (free), Lithe from Feng Min (paid, but unlockable with shards). Maybe also Laurie's Decisive Strike, but I wouldn't recommend it, snce it doesn't reall help you with geting beter.

Eh. I think 4 days of free BP is fine. The problem is really just that Barbeque and Chili provides far too many Bloodpoints, which means that to maximize grind it's far more effective to play Killer than Survivor. Add in how easy it is to just hook someone (as opposed to take a hit or drop everything to unhook someone as Survivor) and it's pretty clear why people flock to killer when BP events are active.

BBQ and other BP perks/offerings have nothing to do with double BP event. They do not multiply, just stack. It's like a free Bloody Party Streamers every game, but it doesn't waste an offering slot.
I also don't get the logic of other people, who only use BP offerings during double BP events and say, that it's much more effective. Same people usually whine about grind. I mean, if you use ofeerings before the event even starts, you'll get your points MUCH earlier, and you'll get other offerings, jeez.

LOL Did you know that publishers usually finance game by getting all the rights on it? Bhvr did develop this game, Starbreeze just published it. And many other developers don't actually have any right to their games and publishers have all the right to give the development to another company. Example: Life is Strange was developed by dontnod, but Square Enix own all the rights, so they gave Before The Storm to Deck Nine, who have nothing to do with original devs.
Thakfully, Behaviour got their rights "back" and same thing won't happen to DbD.

  • So I won't be able to use Dying Light anymore? And I'll get penalty if survivour will just try to get downed after the unhook?

Probably quite a hefty amount of money seeing as the Devs purchased the rights to the game from Starbreeze for $4m(?)

Nope, they've got it for $15 million, it's just that they separated this price into smaller portions and payed them before Curtain Call release, since it's traler doesn't have Starbreeze logo.
My guess would be $20~30m - because Starbreeze kind of cheapened it, and it should be grown in price at the moment they theoretically may want to sell it.

UPD: They managed to pay in a month, since they stopped putting Starbreeze logo on their streams since April 19th.

  • I played a couple of matches on PTB as and against her and now after playing some more against her... Her mobility is completely useless as she can't see survivours. Useyour power mid-chase - congratulations, survivour just Urban Evasioned somewhere and you have to search for him again. but you can't NOT use it, since your speed is 4.4 m/s. Meaning it's only good for gen checking, but not for long distances because of an insane cooldown. Man, Nurse can travel through walls with cooldown of 2~3 seconds, and she can see everyithing.

Her power is cool, but it needs tweaks, or she'll become useless as survivours will adapt in ~2 weeks.

That's not what the OP is asking. I have seen somewhere that Snap Out Of It was considered "healing," so it would make sense for killer perks that affect healing would therefore affect Snap Out Of It. If they don't consider it "healing" then they need to address their initial statement saying otherwise.

On the flip side, maybe they reconsidered Snap Out Of It as NOT a healing action, because it's mental healing, not physical healing? I'm not sure.

Devs once said in one of the pre-Doc-buff streams that Snap Out of It will be a form of healing and that all the perks that affect healing will also affect it, including Botany Knowledge

And now, to the best part!

I think your point is an interesting one.

First off, I will say that I believe the new killer is a great killer. She will take a huge learning curve to understand, but I think that the "great killers" that you mentioned will truly love her. Complexity is great, simplicity is great, but it is difficult to merge the two without someone getting angry or upset.

With that said. For the past 18+ months, killers have been stomped on. I do not care if you are a survivor main or a killer main this is not whining it is the truth to the game. Now, this is difficult because there is a 4v1 mentality and that turns into a MOB very quickly. Games and Post Game chats turn into teabagging, refusing to leave, and toxic hate groups. As a killer it is a very stressful environment already and adding the behavior of survivors is even worse.

Now, this game boils down into a few things, but at its core it is did we have fun? For Survivors did we escape normally means we had fun. For them did we pip can we see a progression? They had fun. When a killer takes away a survivor's potential to survive they "take away their fun" This can be shown by how many Tunneling and Camping posts/complaints they are.

Now a killer's fun is a bit harder to decide. Is it that I killed a number of potential survivors? Is it that the game is just enjoyable? Is it that I provided the best experience for the survivor that I could? I base this personally on one factor. Did I enjoy myself?

My joy comes out of being competitive. My fun is when I am in a chase and I get a survivor last second before they make a window juke. Better yet if we have a fun chase and we out mind game each other. I don't like to steamroll survivors. I try not to tunnel someone who I have hooked and try to target the one who unhooked the other. I personally try to make the survivors match the best I can, but they don't all survive.

With that said survivors have many escapes plays. Many more when you open that SWF door. Flashlights, Instant Heals, Pallets, Windows, poorly designed infinite loops, and perks (DS/Deliverance). What makes the killers get stomped on is the teams that can complete gens in nearly record time (partially because skill checks are too easy others are BNP etc). Then survivors have too many chances to escape.

I have always argued that the game should be balanced around Rank 10. The core players who are skilled, but not skilled so much that the game is too easy. HOWEVER....lets not talk about balance. Let's talk about fixes... and I don't mean just adding a new perk/killer who attempts to fix the flavor of the quarter broken mechanic. (That is what new killers are doing....Nurse fixes pallet loops, Huntress speed boost/dead hard, doctor fixed stealth, etc.)

    1. Repair the maps (I know some work is being done here), but there needs to be more line of sight breaks, 0 infinite loops, and a different way for survivors to get away.
    2. Add something other than generators to do!!! I know this is a core mechanic but adjust this. Maybe they need to get gas from 1 of 10 different gas pumps...Maybe they need to get a fuze...something different.
    3. Skill checks. Not sure where to begin...Space is just too easy. Maybe add in a number press or control press...something that makes survivors need to pay attention more to what they are doing. Make it stressful, which it should be.
    4. Punish/reduce the tunneling/camping. Sure I know it is a strategy and yes I know it works. It also mines salt. So maybe add in a bonus for targeting a different player. Maybe the loss of all perks/bloodlust for X amount of seconds when there is a survivor on a hook, BUT NOT AFTER THE LAST GENERATOR IS COMPLETED. This is so the killer is not hurt by attempting to secure a kill after the survivors objective is nearly completed.

This should slow down the game, improve the mechanics, and make all killers stronger by fixing what is wrong. Don't just give them a blanket to fix one aspect of the game, fix the game and then the killers will be better.

TL:DR: So are killers going MIA, yes, but I think you will see a return as killers really understand it is not that the killers are weak, but that many things are broken and are needing to be fixed over just making the killers stronger. Remember this is a horror based game, make it scary for the survivors not the killer afraid of the survivors.

That is exactly what this game needs. Unfortunately, devs don't seem to bother fixing balance problems. Instead, they just give us perks and are like:"Why are you complaining, you have perk X that helps with problem Y". Don't like that gens are repaired fast? Pick Ruin! Don't like walking circles around the pallet, then having it dropped and survivour lost just after you broke it? Pick Brutal Strength. Don't like infinites? Just pick Bamboozle! Don't like your totems being destroyed in a second? Just pick TotH which is a totem too!

  • I think you misunderstood the meaning of this phrase. It means that EVEN death won't help you escape. It means, that you're stuck here. Forever. Have fun ^_^!

  • it might be here for making you play the game much more for upgrading characters. Otherwise you could've just played a lot during the double BP event and then just opened the game only to upgrade new characters. But you are forced to play when you need BPs, not when you can get them, which means that you'l be playing periodically providing the game with constant playerbase. Also, this system prevents people from having crazy amount of event items.
And that's all I could think of. If I'm wrong, there's no reason for this cap to exist at all.

She looks more mature with this purple hair. And the version with the flower is just awesome. Though, it costing like 1 chapter with 2 characters kind of makes the purple hair look better.

I would show much more, actually, if I did buy a lot of cosmetics, since there are a lot of good combinations (sorry devs I don't like most of the sets, and 90% of heads are awful) and they combine greatly with the older ones.

  • I don't use ruin. At al, only on the killers that don't have any decent perks to equip, or when my whole build is based on totems. Actually, I tried so many times to include totem perks nto my build, but they force you to come and check them, or you'll lose your totem, which is impossible during the chase. And the fact that I myself can hit great skillchecks most of the time makes ruin absolutely ruined.

Yeah, because survivours would definetly say "Don’t worry dear daughter we are all meant to die the longer we wait the more pain we carry".

  • Pharmacy. I don't even know why would enyone pick this one when you can bring selfcare and won't need to look for a chest that might already be looted. Especially when you would like to get a toolbox but need to loot two chests for it.
As for killers it's Hex: The Third Seal I honestly don't know why would anyone pick this when it's a totem, it's now working on everything and You can always communicate with other players. It's not just about SWF, people can just friend each other in the lobby and have the steam chat.

  • For learning her blink mechanic you should better avoid addons. Once you've done learning basics, you can try different sets. I'd suggest a speed+distance combo, you might also like 3 blinks (but no more) and decreasing fatigue. Also avoid using very rare addons since they take too much.
For perks, I'd recommend this build:

    Nurse's Calling
    Deerstalker
    BBQ&C
    Bloodhound

As you can see, all perks are for detecting survivours. BBQ and Nurse's are for finding survivour to start a chase, Bloodhound helps you in chases since you can easili loose survivours after a fatigue, and Deerstalker is obviously for slugging which proved to work extremly good on her. Also, Bloodhound and Deerstalker let you be distracted from one survivour for a moment (to scare someone or to break a gen) and not to loose them afterwards.
