  • I'd rather they have just let the community see how much of a problem it is, then change it… that's the approach with Jason right? lol

  • I'd love my survivors inventories shared, I don't wanna hear "it stops you having a reason to play other survivors" when literally legendaries exist….

SO there isn't really a reason to keep items from each of them, heck I'd even go as far to say killer offerings should also be shared, like why the heck not.

  • When I get off meta perk value, I was running a chest build today and I found a sabo toolbox and saved someone who was being tunneled, I was really happy with myself.

Last Stand saves are another of my fav when I get them, or head on saves on randoms, I love solo Q altruism.

As for Killer, I love chase builds and getting value, recently rampage has been so much fun.

  • I still think Ghoul is my most hated lmaooo

  • I'm glad they are okay and getting the help they need

My thoughts go out to them, I hope they recover swiftly and comfortably <3

  • I would love this, with the new dbd it'd be cool if some things were interactable with for bonuses for both sides.

I honestly would love more unique features to maps.

  • As OP says it's becoming a problem since the high mobility got their TR's increased, it's being used with infectious fright to play slugging builds. Much easier to apply in a lot of maps now.

  • you don't need to run meta to have fun, you just need to find your own fun. If you are beat by meta, that's okay, there is a reason it's called meta. lol But sometimes you win against it and it feels great.

  • Thrill of the hunt is the issue, without counterforce on some killers it's really hard to get rid of them.

Buffed gen kicks by removing gen tapping you mean, and that simply meant you couldnt remove 3s of a killers animation with 1s of a survivor tapping it. Gen kick was useless outside of PGTW before the removal of gen tapping.

No gen kicks were given 5 percent baseline regression unless I'm mistaken which is why a lot of gen regression perks were nerfed to compensate for that addition.

It isn't. Being tunneled out at 5 gens after being hook camped and sent back to the lobby with 5k points is just garbage. The person gets no chance to play at all, never mind escape.

Again, the whole point is that the killers job is to have you not play for as long as possible. This is the killer doing their job as efficiently as possible. Thats a downside of playing an asymmetrical horror sadly.

Anti tunnel perks are trash. DS is easy to chomp through for at least half the roster. off the record is useless

So you used to have a much much stronger version of ds. It was abused again and again. If you abuse/exploit the good thinks given to you, you lose them. Because it turned into not an anti-tunnel perk but a free shield for 60s to do gens ect. However, as i said, anti tunnel perks cannot be too effective otherwise they just outright punish the killer for playing efficiently, which we both agree you don't want to punish otherwise you'd have argued against it already as it was the majority of my point.

Gen times have been increased and now most gen perks have also been hit by diminishing (while most regress hasn't). Again, we have a killer that has built in slowdown (and we're about to have another) but the cheese has been worse than ever. Half the Jasons I encounter run full hex builds with Ruin, Thrill, and Penimento. It's almost impossible to sit on gens, and almost impossible to get rid of the totems. Gen times increases won't stop cheese, they'll make it easier.

So, let me split this into 3 points.

Firstly, they got increased from 80s to 90s in 2022. Most the time theyve been kept at the 90s, and this was followed by nerfs to Pop goes the weasel (from 20% of current progress to 20% of overall progress, a huge nerf) and ruin ( percentages cut in half from 200% regression to 100%) which were the major forms of regression back then. So yes, regression was hit, massively.

Secondly- I don't know why you say the killer has built in slowdown, he doesn't. Jason doesn't require you to crouch/stop working on gens when using power unless your on death hook. He'll gain info, but nothing else. I don't know why your acting like you'll lose a health state or something if you stay on a gen when hes in power. The only reason currently it gives slowdown is because people are too scared to take chase and just sit there hoping someone else does.

Thirdly- if half the jasons run those perks (and your seeing almost all jasons), do you know what you should probably do. Run a map. Genuinely, running a map, or a perk like detectives hunch in your build and bam you can smash out those totems. Pentimento also slows down the killer, and ruin does very little rn. smash out gens and use detectives or your map to hunt them down. Hex perks like devour, ruin and pentimento are common anyway so taking it shouldn't be a burden at all.

However, this isn't a argument against jason (the third one), but an argument against that hex combo. Other killers also use that combo a lot, so maybe you should focus your energy at that here.

they also buffed gen kicks and removed gen tapping, don't forget those!

  • I would love this for low mobility killers as a way for them, a gift from the entity.

  • @wik70240 said:

I've had a jason camp me until i died and didn't get a full anti-camp timer, they need to fix it

Anti camp in general sucks, they need to remove the stopping it if a survivor is nearby unless they are in chase, it's stupid. A change like this would help solo q so much honestly, the amount of people who've made me go into phase 2 when someone hard camps me.

Also Jason's strongest playstyle is definately tunneling, the locker reveal particularly needs to go while in OE, if crouching works so should that.

  • Honestly it depends on the killer, higher tiers with more mobility those are the ones I see tunneling the most on, probably because its so easy with the mobility they have to return. Particularly awful vs blood favor/dissolution where they'll proc it off the unhooker then go for the tunnel victim.

for the record I couldn't care less about tunneling on mid to lower tiers, it's mainly just mobility killers where it's obnoxious on, coz lower skill survivors especially have a great deal of difficulty shaking them, but it's in the name of the role, what can you do lol.

I do want to add though a lot of players heal under the hook even with resurgence, it can give the killer enough time to return and just take that health state anyways.

I never see off the record anymore come to think of it… that used to help a lot, maybe its the likes of Ghoul who killed the perk.

  • I mean whenever someones been subtle cheating and I think I've caught onto it, I normally report it with some context (usually saying I'm not sure if it was). I've had a few positive reports from this.

That said, I've never flat out accused the player. I check the build first for haste or aura reading in the extreme cases it happens, then if there is none I usually put a report in just incase.

better to be safe than let others deal with it just incase.

Ruin and undying is also pretty good on him, espeacially with the regression addon. It can actually damage the 5% on top of the already going regression of ruin once. Combined with bbq and bamboozle you can basically chase constantly without really having to do anything else :D

Oh also it's insanely good, that you can quickly look after your totems with omnipresent evil - people on a totem also have the red mist xD

Wow really? No wonder I see ruin so often then, that's crazy good!

Yeah I've been bringing counterforce builds a lot more in solo Q because of it, they must hate me so much (I often die for it LMAO)

  • Indoor maps are tricky since no grass to tell but loads of interactibles, if anyone else learns any tells for indoor please let me know <3 I'd love to improve against him

  • Slugging from the start of the game on purpose for the whole match as a strong mobility killer/twins is awful.

  • Honestly I'd get used to Jason, coz I feel this midchapter is gonna buff a lot of stuff DR has effected. I enjoy playing against him, he is difficult in solo Queue but I feel self healing really messes up his game plan.

Hex Jason is probably the hardest I've faced, thrill into blood favor is quite oppressive but, that might be more and issue with Thrill than him.

It's too early for me to give a proper opinion but, I'm having fun!

  • I really love the Invocation, the nurse concept is an interesting take on her, makes me wonder how it would play. Being able to kick the generator sounds hillarious and really gives some character to game and of the character like "Work you stupid thing" sort of attitude.

I adore these perk updates and really want to try them, thanks for putting so much effort into this, excited to see what people say about it all.

  • yeah they need to hurry up and make it a 3k required, it just creates slugfests whenever a killer launches, it's not fun for the adept chaser or the people playing against them.

  • the update end of next year might finally fix that, in interviews they said it would fix a lot of long term issues, or at least lay the groundwork to really improve it.

Clown: am i a joke to you?

LMAO right, if they can do it for him, do it for the rest! <3

  • They might work better in the new visual update of DBD, coz of all the weather etc.

Dramaturgy has downsides like exposed and if know how to use it then you are rewarded but dramaturgy doesnt doge range projectiles that would hit you or dash powers or doctors shock like old DH did.

Old DH had invinerability so huntress throw axe and you pressed and E and it didnt do anything to you and it was you who compare them in first place here literary you:

"old dead hard dash effects" So… Dramaturgy, what we still have.

"old dead hard dash effects" You used his words good.

So… Dramaturgy, what we still have.

Here, right here caught in act.

Seems like you forget what old DH all did dapping over trappers traps and doging killers powers, using it for distance or dashing over holles in floors of buildings like badham main etc.

Go watch so old vids and embrase yourself with knowledge of what old DH all did and how it looked like, thank you.

You're so bent out of shape over a comparison over a dash effect. lol

they both have a dash component, why did you have to uhm aktually then complain when it happened back to you.

Just own it, neither was wrong, they both have a dash lol

  • it's thrill of the hunt hex builds which are abysmal against him I find.

Comparing dramaturgy to old dh? You good?

Dramaturgy has downsides and doesnt make you invinciable to damage from projectiles and traps or doge rffects like doctors shock.

Dramaturgy doesnt have downsides if you know how to use it (roll for expose then keep it for chase the next use)

Does the event dash have invuln? no? why are YOU comparing it to DH lmao

  • I don't know, especially with recent killer design

Lights out is a good example of it, but I do enjoy that mode so maybe this could be fun for a challenge as well

Ok so if im reading this right, survivors can receive more pallets, can make pallets unbreakable??
    -constant haste, invincibility, invisibility
-faster repair speed and healing speed
    -old dead hard dash effects
    -portals to teleport around

And killers can give survs hindered…?

"old dead hard dash effects" So… Dramaturgy, what we still have.

I'd wait and see how it works in game before getting upset about it, survivors having more to do and interact with is less time spent on gens, killers have been asking for this for a while.

Also if people are as good at Jason as they claim they are, it won't hurt to have a fun challenge rather than just dominating the survivors, right?

  • Communication with friends is harder than it looks, especially if it's a casual group that doesn't know much about the game.

I feel it's more likely you don't play with many friends in team games, reading this thread and those who just assume every SWF = tryhard. lol

It can never be your fault can it?

  • p.s give him pecs/nice arms and a booty, thank yoh

  • @GorgonExe said:

I heard all his perks are considered bad?

Not everything needs to be META to enjoy and make builds with it

  • I don't find it problematic coz its a 4v1, you need to remember he can only be on one of you at a time and if you are taking chase and doing it well, you're buying time for the other 3 survivors.

Something people forget rather quickly, just coz he is good at the 4v1, doesn't mean he is broken in the 1v1.

Silent Shadow. I know it's terrible to do but I ran a single game with NOED, No Way out, Remember me, and Silent Shadow on Chucky.

I can only say it was absolutely hilarious. I almost felt bad, but they were a full boil-over crew so I abandoned the notion of emotional accountability rather quickly.

No it's not terrible at all, it's hillarious. The NOED endgame trapped build always makes me laugh on survivor, coz its like "OH NO!" when it happens, I should give it a try sometime myself as killer.

That's so funny though, it was like the full squad of flashlight users who just fed me my rampage stacks to the point I was zooming in every chase.

I saw a silent shadow, silent hillbilly the other night and it was horrifying, you never knew where he was coming from LOL

  • I have to agree with Iron, I far prefer the new version they showed, I'll actually play as him now

  • I think the thicker fog is coming with the visual update, so there is that at least, from the screens it looked like it

  • We have it currently but it doesn't really do much to the skill check size, the alternative would be to lower the res but that would just make the game a nightmare to see for them.

  • I honestly just enjoy going against him, if this is what a strong killer is like I'm okay with this. I love it when I get a dodge, and how he is always switching target keeping people on their toes.

if he is strong, then whatever, I just want a killer I can interact with.

  • Like you I play with a friend who has issues, but his is Nystagmus, Doctor's skillchecks going around the screen are still a huge issue.

While it's part of his flavour I do have an alternative request for BHVR: Let us make the skill check ui bigger, would help so much with that kind of issue for him. it's way too small especially as we've gotten higher and higher resolutions.

  • Honestly maybe it's because of the visual update on the way, maybe the quality is low coz the other team is doing the actual animations etc for the update.

That's just what I'm getting from it all.

Outside of the update the biggest offender for bad animation is the Spirit's legendary the snake one she got from the spiritual rift, it's awful, that's the sort of animations survivors have been dealing with since 5 years ago.

I agree they could make the descriptions of the counter play more clear for players. Sometimes it's not explained well.

I don't agree his OE is overloaded. I see it a lot here as well, but as I mentioned before, most these people complaining don't even know about crouching. It would be like me complaining about Spirits phasing while I'm sprinting around and not even knowing she can see my scratch marks. It would be hard to take my opinion seriously.

OE I'm not in a great place to comment from playing as him, coz I havn't even been able to play much as him coz of the queue times. Like while people I've seen complain "He is like springtrap" playing against him doesn't feel like that at all, I love the little red light green light of OE you need to do.

I will say I know people say his perks are meh, but I've been loving rampage (mainly coz I eat so much dirt playing killer), so zooming after people in revenge as unknown has been really funny with enduring/brutal

Deffo the best killer release to go against in a long while for me. I wonder if he'll be able to be added to 2v8 at all.

That's true, but they're also not the ones calling for changes. It's the combination, not just misunderstanding how a mechanic works. I wouldn't fault them for just that.

It's more it is just a sign that it's day 2 or so and people on both sides don't understand the power fully. Of course some know a lot about it, but everyones still learning. I don't think we should discredit opinions on either side just over that, maybe it's a sign his power isn't clear enough (I personally love the mist tell as I've come to learn him)

As I keep saying I've been really enjoying him so far, but I'm noticing my casual friends are really struggling against him, it'll probably get easier for them with time.

I just think also the people who are already good at him, are going to be even better when they optimize him, most people I watch play seem to settle on he is really good at tunneling/omnipresent evil is overloaded, not to mention I see that a lot here too so far.

I think there is good opinions to take from both sides.

  • Wow you put a lot of effort into this, what a fun read <3

The unknown device I will ask though, you don't mean interacting with a hallucination? coz I really like the version of that add on I already have, I love the boon/invocation reworks!

  • @Blueberry said:

The amount of people I've see complain about his jump scare and saying it's too strong while simultaneously also not even knowing about crouching has been quite significant. It shows how quick people are to complain before even understanding the abilities at a basic level.

I would say the majority of survivors in all my games do not crouch at all.

I mean it works both ways, I've seen killers tell survivors to use calm spirit lol

  • Imagine complaining that you are essentially getting cosmetics for free for playing the game.

Like who cares you get more auric cells, you just got multiple months worth of pass' for free if you kept those cells aside.

You want free unlicensed cosmetics, use your iri shards.

  • yeah this is a huge issue, it's why I don't play on controller/console

that and the slight input delay (no its not the monitor, I use the same for my console and tv, there is a difference on every non pc platform)

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4089050#Comment_4089050

He doesn't get reload, movement tracking and killer instinct are removed on crouch walking, and gen damage is another addon, pallet and window deny is only on the one he teleports to for a split second. This is making it "seem" more stacked than reality.

it reloads the hooks etc is what I'm saying sorry, and yeah I could have detailed the gen break is an addon

but the rest are still apart of it, just how it feels rn, not that I think he is broken

  • Darn that's much higher than I've ever seen, 13 minutes is hillarious though

  • While I agree map reworks are nice, nothing is especially problematic rn and I'd rather they tackle that bridge when they come to it.

I'd rather the game looks and feels good to play with the new aesthetics over balance rn, coz the game ain't unplayable.

We can make those changes on the leadup to it in midchapters while we wait, no reason to hold on until visuals.
