Post: DBD’s Rift model is stuck in 2016... and it’s time we talk about it.

Am I the only one who feels that finishing the Dead by Daylight Rift gives you a great sense of accomplishment... until you browse the store and face reality? 💀

Let’s do some quick math. You drop 1,000 Auric Cells on the Rift. You grind for dozens of hours, sweat through games getting tunneled, deal with miserable matches, complete crazy Tome challenges, and when you finally max it out like a champ... the game hands you back exactly those same 1,000 Cells.

Basically, Behaviour is telling us: "Thanks for keeping our game alive for three months! Here’s your money back so you can hand it right back to us next season. Oh, and don't look at the store skins—those are look-but-don't-touch." 🙄

Let’s look at the neighbors: Massive games like Fortnite figured this out years ago. You buy their pass for 950 V-Bucks, and if you complete it, you walk away with around 1,500. They refund your investment AND reward your time with extra in-game currency. With that bonus, you can save up and buy whatever shop skin you actually want. They make you feel like your time is respected.

In DBD, if you see a legendary skin or an epic cosmetic for your main, completing the Rift means absolutely nothing. You are forced to pull out your real-life wallet all over again.

Why does this matter to all of us?Because maxing out a Battle Pass shouldn’t just feel like breaking even with the game. It should reward community loyalty. If the Rift gave us even just 200 or 300 extra Auric Cells upon completion, it wouldn’t break Behaviour’s economy, but it would give players that massive motivation to save up for the cosmetics they love. It would make us feel valued as a player base.

Completing the Rift is an achievement, not an interest-free loan to Behaviour.

What do you guys think? Isn't it time DBD updates its pass system to a fairer, more rewarding model for those of us putting endless hours into the fog?

Let’s make some noise so they actually see this in the forums and surveys!

  • I'm fine with it. I paid for it like once seven or so years ago and haven't spent a dime since. Don't really feel entitled to more money from them.

  • I don't think this is that big of a deal, you spent money are something got your money back.. and want more?

  • Think about it, think in that skin that cost like 1200 auric cells.

With a upgrade for have a little more like other games (fortnite) you can waste a little less and have more fun.

That's my idea, some people have more fun with more skins in a lot of characters.

  • Would be cool to get like a free 300 if you complete the rift and get to would be level 125 or so.

  • bhvr are contractually unable to give out premium currency for free

the battle pass is plenty generous, it has a full refund and can be finished incredibly fast compared to other titles and lasts for a super long time.

    that's what i mean

  • Imagine complaining that you are essentially getting cosmetics for free for playing the game.

Like who cares you get more auric cells, you just got multiple months worth of pass' for free if you kept those cells aside.

You want free unlicensed cosmetics, use your iri shards.
