The achievement doesn't require merciless, you just need to kill all 4 in anyway other than a mori (just looked it up, moris don't count). I got adept cannibal by slugging all 4, no hooks and an entity displeased after.

Was that before or after this new ranking system? And that's weird, cause I've read on steam forums that moris can work if you don't mori all 4, moris can work if you hook them twice before you mori them, moris don't work, sometimes the achievements acts weird with moris, etc.

  • Uggghhhhh great, if I have to double pip as nurse to get it with the new ranking system then I can kiss Adept Nurse goodbye. Apparently I wasted an Ebony Mori too. Just great.

  • I thought they changed it where moris counted towards adept a while ago? I know d/c's count now.

@I_Eat_Worms it’s funny that you should say that. There is a bug in the last patch that allows you to spectate the killer. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

    The bug's kinda awesome tbh.

    otherwise no

You mean just the hair or the whole outfit? Not super fond of the hair myself, wouldn't want it removed though. (The tracksuits are cute tho)

  • Ooh I think that hairstyle would be lovely in purple! <3

Hard agree tho, give us more Neon/colored hair devs

  • Yea I like her quite a bit, looping feels more dangerous, adds a fun will they or won't they get me element to the game that's been missing with looping for a while now. Plus the chance of bein put into the broken state adds to the like fear of if I mess this up I'm screwed that a lot of other killers don't have. That and the range of her projectile, it makes things not quite scary but daring in a way DBD hasn't been in a while.

  • I was hecka confused when there was no cosmetic set released with plague, thought for sure it'd be the Kate, Hag, Claudette, Doctor, etc.

    That's what I was wondering.

I got her to rank 25 already, and already have 1,000,000 BP that I could drop into trying to get her closer to 50... but she (like Legion) just feels so, well, easy...

I love the style, the animations, and even the abilities - but if everyone is going to quit before I can even get a chance to play... It's just not worth it.

The matches where people DON'T quit - the match is over before it really even starts. Especially if people cleanse themselves and then you leave all of the wells tainted so they can't heal any more.

I don't think she's AS annoying as legion (if I'm playing against her) --- but she's definitely in the same tier of annoyance.

Wait what? I though that if ALL the wells are tainted they automatically become clean again? Did they change that in the live build?

It might also be because survs don't know any counterplay yet, therefore consider her OP or whatev and thus the deluge of dc's. It'll probably calm down after a while.

  • The nurse version is still available for shards. Weird.

  • @HeroLives said:

They could also take out the 1 less hook, and yellow coins to be honest also. The only offerings survivors really care about are the purple coin, bp, and maps.

Didn't they change all the hook offerings so it affects distance and not number of hooks? I like both coin offerings, obvs purple is the most useful, but if I'm treasure hunting and I only have yellows one more chest is better than nothing.

Honestly I'd love it if they brought back the old map offerings (the browns and yellows) but bumped them all up to green status, or brought back all the browns and yellows bumped em to green and bumped the current greens to pinks or smth. I think it'd be nice to have more "variety" in map offerings.

I like fog offerings honestly, but the ones that add more fog are next to useless for every killer but Wraith I think.

Legacy is never coming back dude. People gotta stop asking.

They said Legacy on the new characters.

  • I love Kate, I honestly wish maybe she'd get a wavy ponytail or a braided one, more hairstyles in general really. All those outfits would be cute as heck tho!

  • Sometimes I'd honestly rather opt out of playing either with or against streamers, so I'd love if there could be an option somehow. The other issue is not everyone who streams had TTV or YT in their name, so gamertags help but not always.

If names were blocked though it could also help with those occasions where people purposefully decide to troll/grief someone when they know they are the killer/survivor.

    business tactics

Yea, but it's shady as hell. As time goes on I side eye BHVR more and more.

  • I'd love cosmetic items for the killers that show them as they were in "life" so to speak, before the entity took them. Nurse kinda sorta got one recently (Miss Smithson, tho am I the only one who always imagined nurse as a blond or brunette?).

  • I mean they did make different idle animations around the campfire, and for lobby, which weren't needed. So I think if they can do that then creating animations to make survivors more than just skins would be quite neat.

We got alredy 2 secondary objectives chest totems and we all know how this work.

But they're not necessary second objectives. Like yeah you might cleanse dulls (and obvs cleanse hex totems if you find em) to prevent NOED but you only get boldness points that don't even count towards pipping. Or you get objective points that don't count towards pipping for chests. There's no real reason to do them.

If it was an objective you had to do to be able to escape it'd probably slow the game down at least some.

Tier 3 is not only "better", it's the only tier of the perk worth using. That makes the tier system pointless, which is what you claim to want to avoid.

If they're going to keep changing perks like this then yes either do away with tiers or actually make things y'know, Tier. (Honestly if they do away with Tiers maybe they'll have more time to focus on tweaking other perks to make them viable)

My main point in starting this thread is I honestly didn't see why BBQ needed to be changed (buffed) at all. In this thread are the first instances I've heard of Tier 1 and 2 BBQ being called garbage. And that this is a QOL change that was sorely needed.

For the longest time BBQ was fine as is, didn't need tweaking and was balanced. I never saw anything that said that only Tier 3 was the one that was balanced. So I'm just so freaking confused why this was even needed. There are so many other perks that need changes more desperately than BBQ to make them even viable. So yeah. Why was BBQ buffed?

    @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/354914#Comment_354914

Are you saying that people who have grinded a lot don't have BBQ at tier 3?

Depending on RNG and how many perks they have they might not. My Kate is P3 Lvl 50, have leveled her maybe 10 or 12 bloodwebs past that. Still don't have Self-Care 1.

It's possible you could grind for ten or twenty bloodwebs and not get the next Tier (or even the first) of the perk you want for who knows how long.

  • @Master said:

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/354894#Comment_354894

I literally mentioned the radius being the reason for the perk being useless at tiers I and II.

"My point is, having a perk's main functionality only available at tier 3 made all other tiers worthless."

My argument is it's main functionality wasn't only available at Tier 3, every tier had the same abilities, just a lesser version of them. Which is the function of Tiers.

You're the one who keeps saying BBQ is useless at Tier 1 and 2, I disagree. I agree Tier 3 is better, but of course it's better, it's Tier 3.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/354874#Comment_354874

The comparison is valid regardless. My point is, having a perk's main functionality only available at tier 3 made all other tiers worthless. Right now, we have the perks' main purposes available at all tiers, with slight improvements on the perks' "side effects" in other tiers.

BBQ was hot garbage at tier 1. The radius was so big, a survivor would have to be standing still until you got there for you to actually benefit from the perk's main use.

But BBQ's main functionality wasn't only at Tier 3. Every Tier had Aura reading (for the same amount of time), every Tier had a BP bonus. They were just better at higher tiers. Which is the point of Tiers. Higher Tier = better.

  • @Master said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/354829#Comment_354829

Which doesnt matter unless your intention is to bully beginner killers =)

Did I say I wanted to bully beginner killers anywhere? At all?

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/352675#Comment_352675

Because tiers only become relevant if the main effect is present on all tiers. What would be the point of SC 1 and 2 if only SC 3 allowed you to heal yourself?

I could see your comparison if the convo was about NOED, before all tiers got the insta down. NOED 1 and 2 before the change were absolute garbage. But BBQ was still functional at all Tiers, maybe not as great at the lower tiers but still a valid and even meta perk.

A better comparison I feel would be when SC 1 had 30%, SC 2 had 40%, and SC 3 had 50% normal healing speed. People still used Self Care then. Now it's 50% for every tier, which means why bother grinding for SC 3 unless you really want that medkit buff (which is not what most people want SC for)?

  • @GrootDude said:

Ok think about like this. Kindred is amazing for solo and they buffed a already amazing perk, lithe activates outside chase marking stealth easier if you use q&q and DWM with it. Let killer have their BBQ and ruin buffs. (Yes I know those perks aren’t considered close in how good they are, but I find the survivor perks and killer perks I listed amazing.)

I know some survivor perks got buffs too, the Kindred buff for example has a similar "problem" to BBQ. There's not enough of a difference between Tiers now to make Tiers matter much at all.

  • @Master said:

BBQ wasnt buffed, tier 3 is the exactly the same as before and only tier 3 matters (unless you are a deranking bullying SWF )

I don't think something has to affect all tiers to be considered a buff. I would classify tiers 1 and 2 of BBQ now buffed. Not saying they're OP, or that they need a nerf, just that they got buffed.

  • @Dustin I always try to max the perks I care about, which can be a pain sometimes with bloodwebs being as random as they are. I just don't understand the point of having tiers if there's little functional difference between them. What's the point of going past Self Care 1 if all it does is boost medkit healing? What's the point of grinding for BBQ 3 if BBQ 1 will do just as well but earn you less BP? I'd be fine with less of a grind tbh, so I guess my point is they should either make Tiers matter or do away with Tiers all together.

The system you suggest is a good one, and I'd honestly appreciate something like that over the stupid RNG mess that is current Bloodwebs. How would prestiging factor into this?

  • @se05239 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/50543/why-buff-bbq

You've been playing survivor, yeah? Most killers who use BBQ have the perk at level 3. With these buffs, you won't notice a single difference because these changes only improve level 1 and 2 to make them more consistent. Making it easier for killers to see auras means that THEY'LL BE MORE LIKELY TO LEAVE THE HOOK AND GO HUNTING.

I guess you prefer it when killers camp, eh?

Some killer's camp regardless of the perks they bring, BBQ may make them less likely to camp, it might make them more likely to camp.

    @Delfador said:

It is not a buff, it is a QoL change.

If you are facing BBQ 3, the effect is the same, tier 1 and 2 are not garbage anymore and actually does something.

The best perk to compare is self care at this point. Imagine self care giving you the ability to heal yourself at 15-30-50% rate. Tier 1 and tier 2 would be borderline useless but tier 3 would be really good. Instead, it is always 50-50-50% across all tiers.

What's the point of having tiers if there is little functional difference between them? They may as well do away with the Tier system all-together if they keep changing perks to be relatively the same no matter the Tier. It'll certainly save us the grinding. Also since when were they garbage? That's news to me.

  • But what's the point of having tiers then? If each one doesn't get progressively better somehow? Aside from the BP modifier?

Like Self Care has a similar issue (has for a long while), as do other perks now. There's really not a HUGE reason to get any Tier past one because the effect you want most is the same across all Tiers.

Are you playing on console? I found it tough on PS4 but I got it eventually. Just got lucky with the survivors one time and have never come close to getting 4k again even with my choice of perks.

What rank are you at? Maybe try it again some time after rank reset?

Nah, PC (which probs makes it more pathetic, I know Nurse is harder on console).

  • So far every game I've played as Nurse I get gen rushed to hell and back and not a single d/c. The closest I ever got was when I brought and Ebony (and I'm all out of Ebonies) on swamp. And I still only got a 2k. Sluggin did me no good because they keep getting each other up. I don't know how slugging Nurses do it. It seems freakin impossible. I really wish Nurse had knock out as part of her base kit, that's the only was I can see myself finishing this achievement. Like I even got adept wraith faster than this. Adept. Freakin. Wraith.

Like I even three genned them and they still got the drop on me.

  • That was exactly what I wanted! Thank you! :chuffed: :chuffed: :chuffed:

Yeah, I'd love that tbh! I'd prob buy cosmetics I didn't like before if it turned out they paired well with something else.

  • I thought it sounded kinda fishy too which is why I asked. So you can mori for Adept? Can it be after the first hook or does it have to be after the second?

  • @Dreamnomad said:
Putting aside all the camping issues, it did appear that the second hit should have counted. He looked like he was on the ground running when it landed.

I can't tell if he started running or maybe the first hit from the chainsaw that didn't count but still gave him the speedboost from being hit, and that's why the second hit didn't count as he technically still hadn't "moved"?

  • @Purr said:
i had the same issue did the achievement requirements twice not one of the 4 survivors got the achievement on the second try the killer got the achievement and not us lmao

Lol, had the same thing happen to me and some friends when we were playing. They didn't get the achievement and the killer did.

I was 30/30 survivor about 28hrs after the event started im 10/30 killer . It is a lot easier as a survivor , plus there are more killers willing to work with survivors for this reason then there are survivors willing to help a killer get his vial .

if you think that survivors cant get bonus bp after they are 30/30 you are sadly mistaken or jumping to the wrong conclusion I get 12-20k extra for bringing a offering while at 30/30 .

You can only get the bonus bp if other people you're playing with haven't filled all their vials yet though, I think it takes completely draining a plant for the 4k bonus bp to pop. Otherwise if every survivor has all 30 vials then nada on bonus bp. So what happens when more and more survs have capped their vials? Little to no bonus bp for playing that side.

While it is harder for killer to fill their vials they can at least still get the bonus bp after getting all 30 vials by hooking people on the event hooks, while you can't even touch the plants if you're done as survivor and have to hope someone in your lobby hasn't reached max yet.

I will say it feels unfair that survs have to rely on other people not having completed their event objective yet for bonus bp while killers (while their event objective is much harder) don't.

Oh don't worry. You're just bad :D I played as killer and survivor tonight and both have it equally easy. Hooks are crappy now so it's hard to sometimes even get survivors on the canker hooks. Don't whine!

What game are you playing? The recent update made certain that the struggle ability of survivors is totally useless. There is a hook within half of every player's struggle distance everywhere on the map. The only way that is changed is if they are sabotaged or used, and I'm fairly certain the canker hooks can't be sabotaged. The only way killers could have more hooks is if they carried them around. That would be the worst. Not only did he kill you but the hook he used he pulled out of his ass... talk about scary.

Yeah but the canker hook spawning points are random, so they can all be clustered together on one side of the map, potentially the completely opposite side of where you're downing survivors. To the point where if you want your event hooks, and it's not a farm-fest, it's probably a good idea to bring Iron Grasp/Agitation/Both.

  • I'm not sure if there's less or they're really hard to find? Like Lery's is already terrible for finding totems, it might be more of that? Or because it's such a small map maybe all of them can't spawn.

  • Haven't played killer yet but I've been trying to be nice as survivor, offering myself up or purposely running towards event hooks. It makes me feel good if we can both grind towards what we want! :chuffed:

  • @Eninya said:
60 vials a day? Or you could get screwed like me and max out a vial on Game 2, only for you to not get credit, and then only get that vial after Game 3. >_>

Had that happen! Was worried the vial was perma-bugged or you could only get so many vials a day, luckily not so!

  • I was afraid that was might happen. Haven't finished my vials yet, but now I'm not looking forward to it.

  • Had this happen to me when I was playing Surv. Was on The Game against a Wraith if that makes any difference.

  • @Eight In the past Halloween event they were in both Bloodweb and chests. It might be good to do both just in case.

  • It's not an issue of entitlement, it's an issue of transparency. If they had just flat out stated this earlier (like not the day before the event earlier): "All these nice things you think you'll be able to grind for, as you have had to do in past events, you're only going to be able to get a small percentage of them and if you want any of the rest you're going to have to pay for them." People probably wouldn't be as upset as they are now if they had stated this early on clear and true, or instead just...released the skins on the store as planned and had something else to grind for/earn. Instead they let the assumptions grow, assumptions based off the way events were handled in the past, both pre and post cosmetics store, and now people are angry because it feels more like a cash grab than an event.

Yes they have to make revenue but they should at least be honest about their intentions.

Some people are going to buy the skins regardless, either because they don't have the time or the inclination to grind, or people who are going to come to the game later and really like the look of the skins. They would've made their money either way.

There was a happy medium they could've come to here, the way the event is currently being handled isn't it.

I'm also understanding and nice to the devs.

I'm not posting around crying about how I can't get all 7 outfits for free.

That isn't what I'm about. I'm complaining about how a 13 day event is giving us little grind to unlock 3/21 pieces.

It just seems lackluster. The event, the ideas are great, but the rewards are subpar. 6/21?

    Please?

Not everyone would be able to play the event for 13 days straight. Some people might only be able to play for 4 days since some people work all week or have responsibilities during the week. I understand where you come from, but not everyone can be on the game.

What do you appreciate about the game I would like to hear :chuffed:

Yeah but, then they could just buy the skins later as the devs planned? Like as far as I can tell Dwight_Confusion isn't saying, "Make them all grindable, no other way to get them." They're saying, "Let those players who have the time, the patience, or both to grind for more pieces be able to do so."

That's not an unreasonable request. If we're only allowed to grind for 3 pieces through the entire event, and the cosmetics cost say $10 a pop that means if you want the other 18 pieces you have to fork out around $60-180 depending on what cell packs you buy (for Americans at least, idk currency conversions elsewhere)? Isn't that a bit excessive? After they already have so many cash only cosmetics? Especially for an event?

What's the point of even having the event if the amount of stuff you can grind for is so nil? Might as well cut out the middleman and put it all behind a paywall. (I'm not saying there shouldn't be a cap at all btw, I'm just personally saying that 3/21 pieces is a crock of crap)

I'm personally super happy they're not restricting the event outfits to only the event itself, but the potential price point (tbd? Have they said how much cells each set will cost yet?) leaves a lot to be desired. (I realize it could be worse and that they could only sell the outfits during the event itself, so I appreciate the forethought that not everyone would be able to buy them right away)

Edit: @Chrona Nvm, did the math, was initially only calculating for $10 packs only.

  • I mean the weapon skins are awesome and you can see those tbf.

i can't speak for survivors, but the only reason to ever derank killer from red to purple would be to get faster queues. the games dont change. now red to green or brown is a different story

Of course not from 4 to 5 that’s a dumb assumption we both know I’m talking about rank one play compared to the others and there is a difference even though I’ll agree some people don’t belong there, there is still a skill gap

Alright answer this then, you seem civil. Do you believe the sole reason I'd derank from say, 1 to 7 is too face weaker survivors?

It may not be your intention but it turns out being that way and it proves it in the post that got closed where you claimed to feel bad when you stomp the noobs being at rank 10 when you get them instead of competent killers and sure that still happens at 1 every once in a while but it happens a whole lot more below the 4-5 range they just aren’t as serious or don’t really care anyway so the skill will be different than someone who actually wants to win along with less hours in usually, on PS4 the ques are fine even though the frame rate isn’t I can instantly get matches at rank 1 unless it’s late in the evening time with swf, I just don’t agree with supporting a streamer who would derank on their stream and condone it to their viewers when it’s a manipulation that keeps you at a rank you don’t belong for “FUN” , if you can’t see how this could hurt more than help this game I just don’t know what else to say.

I mean, they could just remove depipping all together. Yeah that means some people might get to the high ranks that don't belong there, but it would probably also help queue times. Especially for higher ranks. Plus noob stomping happens every month at rank reset anyway, especially with the way that someone at Rank 15 with 20 hours can be teamed with or against someone at Rank 15 with 1000 hours. Yeah some people smurf just to be ######### but PC queue times at high ranks are a mess most of the time, so if someone has to derank just to be able to play that's on the devs for not making a better matchmaking system.
