Thanks for the feedback mate! I know infectious and bbq are a godsend to Oni, so i will definitely be running that, not sure about thanataphobia though.
Yeah, I don't have infectious yet. Just run the meta build, that's Infectious, BBQ, Pop and Monitor and Abuse. That build is ridiculously strong.
I only got Thanatophobia to slow healing so I get more blood and to slow gens if they don't want to heal.

This is why SC should be 36sec. Because it should cost the same time for 2 Survivors on heal action for 18sec. And not counting finding another Survivor to heal you.
So you want to nerf Self care?
-
For builds, mine is just because I don't have infectious, but it's Pop goes the weasel, Sloppy butcher, BBQ and Thanatophobia. It essentially slows healing so I can get more blood, which leads to me constantly having my power.
-
He's an odd one. He has a learning curve, definitely, but once you get past that, he isn't that hard, but that could just be me. He's a ton of fun though, probably my favourite killer at the moment. If you apply enough pressure, you get your power constantly, which makes him super rewarding to play.
-
@Golden_spider said:
The issue is if you buff SC's numbers you risk making it really powerful again.
SC gives you an infinite amount of times you can heal yourself without needing anyone or anything to limit that amount, that's a pretty powerful effect for just using a single perk so it's balanced out by the drawback of being considerably slower than other methods.
Would I love for Self Care to get a numbers buff? absolutely.
But it'd need some adjustment to make sure it's not TOO powerful (like a cooldown or a limit to how many times you can fully heal yourself with it).
True. SC is a difficult to balance perk I guess. Perhaps it's better off being niche as it is now, and being strong when accompanied by perks like Botany Knowledge.
-
@PalletsAndHooks said:
Naw self-care is in a good spot. Take botany knowledge if you really want it, but you might as well take a green medkit if you want a better self care.
Yea, botany knowledge with it makes it really strong. But individually it isn't that good anymore, I wanna see it used more often individually, you know?
-
Autodidact, it can be really good with a full healing build.
-
Agreed, unless it's an Oni in his mode or something that can instadown you, then I'd have to loop so someone (ideally with Borrowed) can unhook. But that situation is rare.
-
Hm, tough one. Lithe and Dance With Me, very strong juking potential.
@SweetTerror said:
For me it's sloppy butcher and bloodhound. You can hide scratch marks all you like, but there's no hiding that blood! And sloppy butcher ensures that there's a nice long bright trail leading the killer to your hiding spot!
And on top of that, you make their healing slower.
-

I use to think new ruin was bad until i learned how strong it is if you can juggle and pressure survivors off gens. It can be really nasty if used correctly but i do think the killer should get points for the gens being damaged it would make sense for it.
It's quite broken on Hag at the moment. She's able to easily pressure a team, and she can delay the time it takes them to cleanse the totem by a bit since they will crouch to it. Also, I agree that it overall got buffed. It's a very strong perk as it is.
-
I don't think anyone underestimates Alert or Empathy to be honest, or at least I don't. I used to run them together after the Alert buff. The information you get is incredible.
Also, for me, I don't really run underrated things, but I guess you could call Lithe underrated, I personally think it's the 2nd best exhaustion perk to SB. Maybe Autodidact too, I enjoy running that from time to time.
-
It is a 4v1, I can totally understand the devs' choice to implement it in that way, for flashlights and SWF teams.
But some people abuse this to target people, as it was stated here by Mooks:
@Mooks said:
It’s just a dumb design choice. It should be enough to see the characters/skins and items. It would also make grieving one specific survivor nearly impossible.
It would make sense if the killers weren't able to see their name tags at least.
-
Wow, Legion counters MoM...
-
Survivor, I don't even compare to my old self. My knowledge certainly isn't lacking, but my skill overall and my ability to carry teams in bad situations is definitely lacking.
-
As survivor, we hid behind a tree against a Wraith and when he found us, we both screamed while running completely straight, looking up and swerving like crackheads. That was fun lol. Only took a few months before I learnt was looping was then I became toxic so I could improve. I also stopped playing killer after I learnt what looping was and started to face people who looped me.
As killer, I was Doc (old) and didn't know how to lunge, I also thought continuously spamming his shock therapy would cause survivors to reveal themselves, so I had no clue how to play him but used to get a LOT of 4k's.
-
@darktrix said:
Burning or pallet stunning a Wraith - the low roar of pain he makes is so satisfying to my ears.
I love that roar lol.
-
Down all survivors within 20 seconds as Hag because STBFL + trapping routes is OP. And yes, it does happen quite often.

I would argue that lithe is better than sprint burst. I agree, Plague and Legion are decently viable, and underutilised.
Honestly, it does give some CRAZY distance. But I would say SB is stronger just because of the ability to escape deadzones effortlessly.
-
Woah why does it look so cool with the colours?
-
Lithe is the 2nd best exhaustion perk to SB. DH is joint 3rd with Head On.
Plague and Legion are decent killers and viable.

Sure it is fine. But Killers seem to be strange when it comes to it.
Like, slugging is always fine. They do it all the time. And if a Survivor complains, they are saying the Survivor should shut up because there is Unbreakable or that it is a way to create Map Pressure.
But if DS is used - there is no way for the Killer to slug. They HAVE to pick up the Survivor immediatly and open a Forum Thread about DS. Thats a Killer Rule.
This.

Why do you say that, though? Where did the number 10 come from?
The ranking system IS a strange beast, but if you got to red ranks as survivor, then you deserved to get there. Outside of cheating somehow, there's no other explanation. You fulfilled the criteria for reaching those ranks as the game presented them.
I just don't feel all rounded anymore. My skill is definitely lacking.

Yeah, the game with how fast you go through the ranks. Just makes me question at time, do i belong at my currently rank? Since i wonder, since the game keeps sending me back to red ranks as a survivor and i have to wonder, do i really belong here or should i be at a lower rank? When match making pairs me up with red rank survivors and a red rank killer and not yellow rank team mates and killers, who are clearly new to the game.
Yeah, it's a really bad issue. I'm only concerned with my survivor ranks though.
As killer, I still have the skill of a R1, it's just that as survivor, I shouldn't be any higher than 10.

I mean it's been 4 years, I never expected them to fix the issues with solo survivors. However, making the experience for solos even worse was something I didn't even thought was possible. Well, bhvr always can do something worse than it is lol
Yeah. Solo used to be loads of fun back when I joined, but we had pallet vacuum, double exhaustion, way too strong flashlights back then. It did mean you didn't have to rely on teammates, but still, I thought that was busted, as did everyone. so the game became way more balanced, at the expense of solo's becoming team reliant. This would be fine if some teams weren't ass and plus, nowadays, with the busted ranking system, people are in ranks way out of their skill level, which makes solos even worse.
-
@Ghostwithaface said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1341101#Comment_1341101
Yeah ranking up, just seems like you blaze through them until you get to red ranks. You only see any real slow down to ranking up, when it comes to red ranks.
Honestly, I haven't slowed at all, now rank 4 and still going.

I don't think it ever effected Head on as far as I can remember, but id definitely make it apply to only DS and not head on as that perk doesn't need nerfs at all.
It did affect Head on. It was really weak at the time.
-
Ohhhh, that's what you meant lol. Yeah, they're gonna really abuse new Pyramid Heads...

That’s not what this is about at all but here wait just a second I’m starting a new thread that will maybe explain more what I meant so this isn’t being spammed as it is with off topic bs
Well, I'll look forward to it, mind tagging me?

Yes, it almost nullified the perk and I loved it. I would be completely fine if they reduced the stun to 3 seconds and made enduring effect it, that would give the survivor half a second to get away which is nothing. I would love that 100%
It felt cheap to me, personally. I'd rather not have another enduring meta where Head on and DS become trash.

Ok explain how I’m losing that right there proves my point of you not reading I can’t be losing with something that hasn’t even came out yet
Finally, something from you that isn't coated with emotion and bs. I'm writing off of the basis that you're writing from past experiences with new killers, anyone would assume that by your comments on this thread.
-
Yeah, I've been playing like a bot at survivor since my return, yet I'm somehow Rank 5? They should make ranking up harder to keep people in the ranks they SHOULD be at. I shouldn't be any higher than 10 with my current level of skill. And once I get back to my old self, I'll have to deal with people who play like I currently do (very badly). BHVR should make ranking up as survivor harder.
-

This has nothing to do with tactics omg ######### learn how to read please it said YOU ARE A DICK IF YOU PLAY A SQUAD WITH EVERYONE HAVING DS BT UNBREAKABLE ADRENALINE ETC AND PLAY THE HARDEST YOU CAN THEN TEABAG THEM AT THE EXIT GATE FOR PLAYING A KILLER THAT COULD ONLY BE OUT FOR MAYBE AN HOUR
I can read, shut it and get over yourself losing. Bye, I'm done with this post.
@I_Teabag_Gate said:
Survivors are also learning how to play against the new killer. Both sides are tryharding.
My exact point, but they got emotional.
-
Did you not see how the Enduring countering DS situation played out? I wouldn't touch that perk personally. But they can reduce the stun time to 3 seconds if people get THAT mad about it.
-
@RizeAki said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1341052#Comment_1341052
Dude please read above you can play the game and learn tactics that is fine this has nothing to do with that
So stop making such a bs post and getting emotional when people try to discuss it. You're clearly mad about people figuring out tactics, and acting like it's them sweating. Stop making excuses for getting curbstomped because you're trying to figure out a killer against teams who are too, take the L and don't make a post complaining about it.

Yeah i had a game recently, noed at the end. It was on hawkins. Yeah that totem is going to be bloody impossible to find on that map. I just got out asap. No reason for everyone to die, just to save one person.
Yeah, it's a dumb move. If the person gets it, great! If they don't, then who cares anyways.

You mean ... have an actual risk-reward situation for the survivor?
How dare we ...
It was everywhere and it was broken. DS basically didn't exist and Enduring basically forbade survivors trying to use Head On for fun. It's much better this way, plus didn't they slightly buff the stun time to compensate?
@Aven_Fallen said:
Enduring is still a great Perk.
Yeah, it gets crazy value on killers like Billy or Wraith.
-
Don't they "sweat" just so they can figure out effective tactics against the killer?
-
@Ghostwithaface said:

Yeah sometimes it best to simply leave. I have countless stories, of how many times survivors try to save one person on a hook during end game. Turning a 3 man escape into a 2 man escape or worst.
Yeah, no point in sticking around, unless you've had a boring game and want some adventure.

That would be fine too. I personally just have a can of compressed air here lol. Anything that can safely get the dust out of your pc works, it's really your choice.
A Compucleaner Xpert did the job, now my idle temp is 34 degrees which is around a 20 degrees drop, and my game temp (nvidia geforce GTX 1050 ti) is 80 degrees (from 83), which idk if that's normal or weird for gaming.

I like the idea of it having a cost and asking something of you. However, I feel the devs would think that wouldn't stop them from getting downed right as they come off the hook.
Well, it was just an idea. I personally like it as it is btw, because it is very easy to counter. (I don't use it btw, unless I've had a bad day and wanna go tryhard)
