@Poweas I think he was referring to the fact that his background is red, which nobody else has.

Oh, that. Yeah, it's pretty neat.

So like now it would have a cost in that you would need to keep him chasing you for a certain amount of time to activate it?

Basically, yeah. MOM is another second chance perk and you have to earn that one, so why not earn DS by being chased? Plus, you could always reduce/increase the requirement if it's weak/strong.

Meh, I hear theres a cooler badge of honor profile pic goin around nowdays anyway.

I've returned to the forums fairly recently, mind telling me what it is?

  • A better idea would be:

Press the Activate ability button to activate, once activated, this perk grants you 7% movement speed for 20 seconds. Causes exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds.

  • That is too easy to counter for experienced players, and too difficult for newbie players.

  • Yeah, those guys are awesome, and @Fibijean (I still consider them a trusted member).

That being said... How are YOU not a trusted member yet?

I don't have the answers, but I actually think the change to ruin really hurt his early game more than most killers. Getting out of tier 1 can be a bear.

Probably a quick bandaid fix would be to make Michael a bit shorter and to quiet his breathing a bit. That would make his tier 1 a little more palatable. No real advantage to tier 1 when people can see him and hear him pretty easily.

It wouldn't fit if he was shorter, also I never seem to notice his breathing myself tbh.

  • Talk to someone next to me, if there's nobody, go on the forums or search something on google.

  • I think it's supposed to be like that.

Ideally there should be no S-tier killers in the game because that implies they are OP and need to be nerfed.

Eh? It depends on how you sort your ranking. I see A as average, A+ as above average but addon reliant, and S as above average and viable without perks or addons. S+ is OP in my opinion.

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

    Sounds a little underpowered.

I think instead of deep wound, anyone who gets hit during his power should count as instantly mori'd.

Still too weak, the team should all get the EGC animation when he hits someone and he moves at 300% MS. Of course, we have to give him 4 reds if he manages to land this difficult hit.

I like your ideas. That would make EWII really unique and the stalking easier.

Yeah, my boi Myers deserves to be considered top tier again. He should be an S tier killer, but he's not. The potential is there though. Hopefully the devs update him and make him viable. Infinite stalking is another option... But Judiths Tombstone or Tombstone Piece would be OP if you find a dumb survivor who feeds you EW3.

  • @Dehitay said:

Wow, for a perk that sucks so bad, it's one hell of a coincidence that in solo play when I'm using it, I have a significantly higher escape rate than on solo games when I'm playing a character that doesn't have it. Almost as if people who say self-care sucks have no clue what they're talking about and just feel like whining cause of a few instances of somebody self healing when they shouldn't be.

Do you use it with Botany? If so, how good is it? Does it feel like the good old SC?

  • The Game is great actually, I love it as both sides. If you gain distance and loop it correctly, it can be really fun for survivors, but if you play it right as killer, it can be fun for killer. It's a very even map.

  • @Peanits said:

I would direct you to the 3.7.0 update patch notes, which included loads of changes for all sorts of maps: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/179-3-7-0-mid-chapter

We're going to keep changing maps. Some will require larger changes and take more time to properly update.

Dead Dawg Saloon better get a change eventually... That map is the bane of my existence. It's boring and sucks for both sides. It looks great, but the map gameplay-wise is terrible for both sides.

  • I think EW2 needs more utility, so perhaps you could remove his Red Stain to make it somewhat unique and worth it compared to the other 2 stages. Since rn, it's EW1 or EW3 for a game plan, and you're forced in EW2 most the time so it could use more utility.

Aside from that, if that is too OP, his stalking should be 20% faster at base, and his stalking increase addons could use a nerf since they'd be godlike with that buff. Also, let him stalk through cracks lol. I was so excited when Myers got fixed, only to find out he's outdated and GF is a better option.

  • @Blueberry said:

The extra time did make a big difference. Pop is an example of well designed perk because it rewards you for playing well but does nothing if you play badly.

DS just needs to deactivate if the survivor does anything towards the objective, such as gens, totems, hook rescue etc. If they are doing those things then they either aren't being tunneled or they're trying to abuse the 60 second immunity.

What if DS were to work so you get DS after being unhooked after holding a chase for 60 seconds? (previous chases can count and it still has a 60 second timer)

  • @DudeDelicious yeah, SC is actually crazy good with Botany and it even isn't affected by Sloppy, it's 25 seconds or something.

  • @JustCats said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1336884#Comment_1336884

You'd still be exhausted so it'd be a choice. And when 90% of killers all run the same perk it's probably a sign that it should just be a killer ability.

That's still a terrible idea. I think that's ridiculous. Keep DH as a perk, do you want survivors to be even stronger at base? You don't even need perks for them right now to win.

Also, BBQ isn't used by "90%" of the killers, there are other meta builds that don't use it. Anyways, it shouldn't be a killer ability at base, It's more suited to being a perk and isn't necessary.

If you were to add some perks to base, I'd suggest Kindred and Monstrous Shrine. Monstrous Shrine might sound ridiculous, but it'd make the basement just a bit more threatening. Heck, you could also add Beast of Prey to the base, but that'd be OP.

  • Adding DH and SC to default base survivor is a terrible idea, same for BBQ. Imagine if you combined Sprint Burst and DH, that'd be broken. SC at base just feels cheap, it's fine as it is. And BBQ at base also feels cheap.

  • @csandman1977 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1336576#Comment_1336576

I agree with dead hard. However, all the perks you mention are strong (except maybe BBQ which is great for blood points and meh for tracking. I would say thrilling tremors is a better tracking perk.) However, those perks hardly effect anyone but the person using them. Yes pop is strong very strong even. But, i just don't think it is as strong as DS.

Yes there are counters to DS, yet it is entirely possible to down 2 or 3 survivors, get hit by the DS and have the survivors completely recover.

End game by gates, DS has no counter at all.

DS is still far more situational than the perks I mentioned, they can be consistently used and can impact a game far more than DS, not to mention that it's not even easy to counter them (aside from BBQ, but the bloodpoint gain makes up for it), unlike with DS, where the killer can simply slug. I just find DS balanced, strong, but nothing compared to what it was or the perks I mentioned, and that's it.

  • I disagree with this, Hag is not lower than Freddy, Billy or Huntress. Also, GF above Myers imo is completely absurd, and how is Doctor not joint with Freddy?

  • Also, to @OperationMintyHippo, run whatever you want.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

Playing fair means that somebody follows the devs' rules. Playing fair is not the same as playing "soft" and intentionally giving the opponent an advantage - that would be playing generously.

Killers and survivors are allowed to play how they want, as long as they follow the rules and don't exploit/hack etc. Everybody is allowed to use whatever perk/add-on/tactic they want, so of course, if you need DS/Unbreakable/exhaustion perks, then run them.

This is a PvP game. The normal thing is to expect that people play to win. Nobody is the opponent's fun provider.

Btw, it has been months since the last time I played killer. Too stressful. 🤷

Am I the only one who feels more relaxed as killer? I prefer playing killer because I don't rely on matchmaking to give me a decent team.

  • No, Sprint burst is by far the best perk atm, then you got Pop, Borrowed, Spine chill and BBQ.

DS is very easy to prevent.

So imo, DS isn't even on the same wavelength as those perks. I'd rank it more similarly to Lithe/DH, which are joint 6th (Lithe jumped up because the vault buff has made it really reliable), so imo, DS is 7th or arguably 6th, it's interchangeable.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

Yes, I do think Dead Hard is overrated as hell.

  • No, Ruin right now is amazing if used correctly. Plus, wouldn't killers just abuse it by slugging? Why wouldn't you make it so they gain tokens after hooking? Either way, Ruin doesn't need a change.

  • That's amazing! <3

  • Can you tag me when you post it? I'd really love to see it.

    just dont get hit 4head

running stridor on her is the equivalent of using training wheels on a bike, this coming from someone who used to main er before i realized how little of a challenge she is

Omg same, I thought she was hard, but it only turned out that I didn't have surround sound (old headsets) and once I turned the Windows one on, it was easy. I still play her though, she's satisfying.

  • Yes, honestly. We need this so badly, normal FOV is sickening.

If you could only ask 1 fix/adjustment for ever Killer, what would it be?

    Demo - Soften his footsteps

Trapper - Allow him to carry all of his traps starting out

    Wraith - Improve his invisibility

Nurse - Decrease the overall amount of fatigue she suffers when blinking

Huntress - Decrease the hitbox of her hatchets

    Myers - Nothing

Hag - Decrease exaggerated animations (i.e picking up, destroying objects, stun, etc.)

Doc - Slight decrease in time of shock treatments ability to make it unable to interact with objects

Cannibal - Decrease chainsaw movement speed

Freddy - Increase times to put down snares

Pig - Increase deviousness point gain

Clown - Increase speed when using his power

    Oni - Nothing

    Spirit - Nothing

Legion - Decrease punishment when exiting Feral Frenzy

Plague - Increase deviousness point gain

    Ghost Face - Nothing

    Death Slinger - Nothing

    Demo - Also soften footsteps.

Trapper - Yeah, let him start with all traps.

Wraith - Make him 10% faster at base. He's fine with the invisibility.

Nurse - Fix bugs and see how it goes from there.

    Huntress - Decrease hitboxes, yeah.

Myers - Make him more viable by removing his red stain in EW2 (to make the mode unique and worth it) and giving him 10% faster stalking at base, and nerfing his stalk speed addons to stay as are.

Hag - Flashlights take longer to burn traps, now ~2 seconds.

    Doc - Nothing.

Cannibal - Increase speed when charging saw.

Freddy - Give him an animation where he's locked in place to place snares. Leave dream pallets as they are.

    Pig - Nothing.

Clown - Nothing, his PTB ones are fine. Maybe add a reduced reload time.

Oni - Decrease footstep sounds normally, leave his mode's footsteps sound as is.

    Spirit - Nothing.

Legion - Let him have his FOV when stunned out of frenzy.

    Plague - Nothing, I think she's underrated.

    Ghostface - Nothing.

    Death Slinger - Nothing.

    Pyramid head - Nothing.

  • Fixated: works when injured.

Thanatophobia: 4/4.5/5 for each injured survivor.

As a lot of people have already talked about sound i'll share a few things that I do as a Spirit main.

When possible, especially when just catching up, phase behind cover. Can be as simple as when the survivor turns a corner with a wall, or when a rock come between you. If you just stand out in the open and begin phasing, that can give them a head start to trying to juke you. Phase out of view and they might still just be running, helping you in locating them.

When trying to fake phase, it's best to stand in an area that corners the survivor or will push them towards unsafe areas. This way if they do run you can either chase normally and they can't get to a pallet or window, or you can phase and hopefully catch them out in the open.

If you're in chase and you see a survivor hiding or hear a gen being worked on, it's almost always better to swap targets by phasing (again, don't make it obvious you're switching targets; hide before phasing or phase and just face the survivor you're chasing) Almost always free hits on survivors hiding nearby and good for getting grabs on gens. M&A is a big help in this, fantastic perk for her.

Also, I phase the second a game starts to an area I feel a survivor is at or till Whispers goes off. Fantastic for early pressure especially since survivors usually start near each other and you might be able to get at least two survivors injured quickly.

A survivor will always spawn to your right or left. If there is a wall on one of the said sides, go to the other. Guaranteed to catch survivors unless they hide, it's the best way to get a quick start.

There's actually quite a few. I don't know a few of these sorry but I just wanted to type in dbd killer tier list on youtube and see what they say.

    Rowby: S tier

    Dowsey: S tier

Jaee: A+ (spirit and freddy are also here)

Jamishio: A tier (Myers SS, Hag S, Pig S)

    The King: S tier

TydeTyme: S tier (tbh this tier list looked weird lol) This one was 4 months old.

These are just the first set I saw. Sorry if this looks rude I'm just showing what they are saying. I don't watch anyone here and I don't think any youtuber I watch has done one within the last 6 months.

I never play her myself (other than a meme build yesterday which was a 4k) but I just don't think it would be received well if arguably the best killer in the game got a buff.

Tyde really doesn't know much when it comes to killers. He considers Hag to be D tier, even if the tierlist was on pipping, Hag is still one of the best killers for that. But Nurse is definitely the best killer still, I'd just fix her bugs and see how it goes.

Directional Audio Headphones are a good starting point.

As far a gameplay goes, Spirit is all about deception. Sometimes while you’re in chase and spot another player or hear them on a gen, you can start your phase walk aiming at the player you’re chasing then once you start phasing immediately turn around and target the unsuspecting player. If they’re in your terror radius this can catch many players off guard.

Remember, Spirit’s husk will always face the direction you’re looking in BEFORE phase starts so use this to your advantage in chases or otherwise.

You can also use Windows Sonic for Headphones if your headset doesn't have built in surround sound, it worked wonders for my old one.

Dunno why you would advise not picking a perk that literally directly counters the one thing survivors have against her.

Footsteps are more effective anyways, plus Stridor messes up your sound when you play other killers. Spirit doesn't need Stridor.

  • @Fibijean said:

There's a big difference between understanding how a game works and understanding why it works that way. Most red-ranked players I meet don't know a thing about game design or balance, even if they understand how to run a loop or track down a survivor. My brother is around green ranks in both roles, but he has the best and most insightful balance ideas I've heard for DBD because he's actually got a degree in game design and he's good at analysing that kind of thing. The devs know a good idea when they see it because they're competent enough at their jobs to be able to identify useful feedback, regardless of how much knowledge or experience is informing said idea.

I'm with @Poweas on this one - while I understand why it might seem like a good idea, I suspect all it would do in practice is promote a culture of elitism where anyone with a contrary viewpoint that isn't rank 1 gets automatically mocked or shunned for daring to express it.

    Yeah.

On most of the pallets with long and short wall mindgame becomes possible after killer gains bloodlust 1. Otherwise survivor can just go for a loop around it, vault it and repeat this infinitely until killer breaks it. Also killer would be wasting too much time playing the pallet and hoping that survivor messes up rather then breaking it.

Those ones should become less safe tbh, I can definitely see why you'd want that.

I "defend" voice comms for the same reason I defend crosshair overlays, something that I'd say benefits killers a whole lot more than survivors. Because you quite simply can't do anything about either of them. Comms are far too established in gaming for any sane developer to even try to mess with them directly, and crosshair overlays can be in a monitor's firmware and therefore impossible to do anything about in the first place.

Am I denying both give an advantage? Of course not. But that doesn't mean I want the devs to waste time and resources trying to stop something that can't actually be stopped. I also defend Nvidia Freestyle filters, again something that probably benefits killers more than survivors if they want to use it for an advantage.

But I'm not gonna defend VPN abuse, just like I'm not gonna defend stuff like survivors finding out what killer they're about to face while in the lobby which is possible at the moment. And for both of those things the devs are already working on fixes, which is good.

Nothing gets through to them, don't waste your time.

  • Hm, no, they're in a good spot, they need no buffs. It would be interesting and all, but it could make them too strong against Hag.
