I'm looking for a fair compromise between survivors getting tunneled/camped and killers who want to practice this particular playstyle because killer incentives haven't worked and I see more unhooking related buffs incoming (kindred, borrowed time, longer immunity frames). I suggested this since you'd still have a survivor being downed and out of the game, but his team would have a larger window to get that survivor back into the game and follow with the changes the devs have made for healing while downed and would proabably get survivors to get unbreakable/no mither and tenacity more frequently. Granted 30 seconds may be a bit much after a survivor has been unhooked and only while the gens still need to be completed, but the idea is to find another survivor.
The problem is that, to you, a "fair compromise" means that the Survivor gets to fail at hiding and fail at winning the chase - inversely, the Killer succeeded at finding the Survivor and then won the chase - and yet suffers no consequences, while the Killer is actively punished for trying to complete his objective (kill) by being mechanically prohibited from doing so. This would be like if every time you completed a generator, you dropped one health state and were given the Unbroken status effect.
It's the same with the new unhook mechanics.
Survivor get a free exhaustion reset and invulnerability.
So killer get punished by gamemechanics, while the survivor get backed up for making bad plays.Exactly. "Fair compromise" is apparently just Survivorspeak for "reward me for failure".
OP, we have suggested increased progression based on distance to the hook (rewards Killers for leaving the hook), hooks actually giving debuffs to Survivors that they can't shrug off with a massage (rewards Killers for hooking multiple Survivors), and a bunch of other crap. The main problem, as always, is you (Survivors). You don't want a solution that's actually fair for both sides (punishes the loser and rewards the winner); you want a solution that benefits you and you alone for failing, while the Killer is actively punished for playing smart/efficiently/well. -

The problem is that you're thinking like a Survivor main trying to farm points.
I'm thinking about it from both sides, as a killer it is way easy to get a kill from farming one survivor and typically that survivor is just getting farmed by another survivor they had no intention of saving them. If I down that survivor and have to wait, I'll go chasing around for another survivor to make the time worth it. Typically I don't camp but I will just walk 30-50 meters to give them a head start.
No, you're thinking about it as a Survivor main trying to farm points. If you were thinking about it from both sides, you'd know that Killers don't care about points as much as Survivors do.

No, this is the reason why you and everyone who agrees with you is not thinking correctly. Just because you give someone a piece of ######### and tell them it's very important to you doesn't mean they have to appreciate it.

Plenty of suggestions have been made over the years. The problem is that Survivor mains don't want a compromise solution; it's their way or the highway as far as they're concerned. Therefore, instead of proposing a concrete solution, I suggest you learn what Killers actually care about when it comes to playing Killer. I already gave you a hint in this comment.

30 seconds isn't that long and it's an idea to fix a frustrating issue for solo survivors who have already been hooked and downed immediately again, you still have that survivor slugged and out of the game for a timeout this just gives a team time to evaluate saving and killer has to make a choice of camping that slugged body for 30 seconds or do something else and come back.
"Just" 30 seconds??
Survivor almost lost their mind about FOUR seconds increased healing time.
That's almost half a gen done alone.
The survivor could crawl 1/2 a map during that time, making it very hard to "just come back to him later".
You obviously have no clue about timemanagement.Because those four seconds translate into eight seconds since almost all Survivors use Self-Care. Of course, they won't admit that's why they're complaining.
So they complain about 8 seconds… but this guy wants a killer action to be delayed by "JUST" 30(thirty) seconds.
That's almost 4 times the amount.
facepalmI didn't say it was fair or logical, I'm just explaining why they complain about the 4 seconds. I've already said that Survivor mains don't want a compromise solution - they just want to have everything their way. See: looping, healing, Self-Care, trapping specific spots, being caught, camping, "tunneling", pallets, hitboxes, windows, NOED.
- Killers demanded the end of looping due to it being low risk, high-reward, which runs contrary to how balanced things should be. Survivors demanded they stayed the same, because they liked the idea of forcing Killers into nigh-unwinnable situations. Killers had to settle for fewer loops, but the core problem of looping remains.
- Killers demanded healing was fundamentally changed because its infinite nature makes hits virtually irrelevant in the long-term. Survivors demanded they stayed the same, because they know being able to take hits without any drawbacks is broken. Killers had to settle for +4 seconds of healing time, but the core problem of healing remains.
- Killers demanded Self-Care be gutted because self-sustain perks like that shouldn't exist in a game where you're meant to be reliant on your team to save your ass. Survivors demanded it stayed the same, because they know it's broken. Killers had to settle for completely irrelevant nerfs - it's still the most-picked perk in existence, and the core problem of SC remains.
- Survivors demanded NOED was removed or otherwise nerfed into oblivion, like so many other Killer perks, because they liked being able to troll Killers at the end. Killers demanded it stayed the same, because they know it's the only tool they have that can give them a chance when the gates are powered and open. It's now the only perk that can be disabled before it even triggers, through no fault of the Killer.

Nope killers who can't play need to camp to get a kill. Way to misread what he said completely. 9 times out of 10 a killer who camped someone gets into a chase with me and I'm like OOOOOOO this, this is why you camped because they can't land a hit and lose track of you within 10 seconds. But hey, be snarky when you only looked stupid there.
And how about Killers who don't need to camp, but do so anyway so as not to handicap themselves? Why are they less skilled than the ones who do handicap themselves?

You barely get over 25k bloodpoints in a 4 vs 1 match 3vs 1 you’re roughly getting 10k because of unhooking and its either a hatch game or 3 kills for the killer . whos “greedy and entitled” because i dont wanna give the killer a easy game and im supposed to play a match knowing we’re going to lose, the logic of a narrow minded forums dwelling killer main. Yes i said “killer main” meaning you only play killer .I'm not a Killer main, and I can already see you're incapable of admitting error because you're too emotionally invested in making yourself seem like the good guy for knowingly breaking the rules and ruining the game for your teammates, so I'll just grab some proverbial popcorn and leave you to it.

Let me explain to you how matchs at rank one plays out with 3 survivors vs the killer. 1st person gets chased 2nd person either does nothing or looks for ruin 3rd person on a gen 1st person caught gets put on a hook 2nd person still looking for ruin 3rd person gets off the gen to unhook while the killer is patrolling unhooks 1st person now the killer depending if he’s friendly or not either tunnels 1st person or chases 2nd person . Im not arguing with you about staying to get points because you know you’re not getting much bloodpoints from unhooking because you barely get over 25k even if you played good and escaped .So now you've gone from 10k to "barely over 25k". Explain to me again how this isn't just you being greedy and entitled.

but yeah. just look at it like everyone is racist and wants to insult you, without even knowing you. i bet that is a great way to look at life ^^It's just a simple case of who is truly the racist ones here, reality is, the only ones here who are racist are the ones pointing the finger about how it's racist and then calling people ignorant for not agreeing, point is, none of them would have even noticed if they themself were not racist enough to get the idea in there head then fire out at everyone about it.
Much like in real life, the only true racist ones are the ones calling everyone racist.
Which in turn is not ever gonna stop racism, it only makes people more angry to be called racist when they are not and makes the situation worse.Pretty sure at least some of the people being called racist are actually racist.
probably not hardly as many as those who are being pointed at. i'm not but i do get called one alot at my job cuz I said No.
You'd be surprised. Those who are racist will often point to the (relatively few) false instances of someone else being called a racist as "proof" that they themselves aren't racist. This rhetoric results in a false sense of how many accusations are actually false. Same thing with other types of discrimination; it's all about creating an echo chamber of anecdotes that support what you want.
Yep and because I told some white guy who's dressed up in thug life style with a gun in his backpocket of his pants that are down practically at his ankles that he could not just walk up into some lone girls room last night at work means I'm racist against black people...people just running around calling everyone racist cuz they say no sir I ca'nt give you a ride, NO sir, you ca'nt go up too some lone girls room and ######### them, OH NO! this video game has offended me in some way cuz megs shirt is yellow and not red like I want it to be and how dare you not agree with me you RACIST! is not helping to clear the world of racism, it only makes people angrier and more upset, only an idiot would go around trying to state this is okay to do.
True, but if you were, for example, to call the cops on a black person who clearly demonstrated they live in the same apartment complex as you because you "felt unsafe" and "weren't sure they lived there", while you never did anything of the sort to any of your other (white neighbors), you might just be a racist.
Yes, this would be likely, but it's not the case in this thread, the threads case has nothing to do with any form of real life situation that is causing any actual harm and those who are in here pointing the finger at everyone who does'nt agree are clearly not the ones overreacting in a racist way, I'm all for a serious real life situation but this is a video game and being based around something that you literally have to stretch too make it a racism issue, this does'nt compare as this is just some bored people with nothing better to do except go out looking for something to call racist and then call people who don't agree either racist or ignorant which is funny when they won't even respond decently too those disagreeing with them.
I'm not addressing the (obviously bait) thread, I'm addressing you. My point is, don't be fooled by the actual racists that false racism accusations are more common than real ones.
Yes, there will always be parasites trying to take advantage of anything and anyone they can (like the actual racists taking advantage of you and others like you who were falsely accused of racism, to try to legitimize their bigoted views), but you need to look at the bigger picture and realize that yes, overt racism is still a thing, and yes, it's still a big deal.
Black and brown people in predominantly white countries and white people in predominantly black and brown countries live with the very real possibility that one day, some racist mob is going to come over and kill them.
In my own country, one of the most tolerant in the world, a Colombian immigrant who'd been here since she was a child was severely beaten up by some racist ######### who told her to "go back to [her] own country". During interviews, she reported that while the beating was new, the racist attitude was not, and that many people where she grew up would often spout racist epithets at her as "a joke" (see what I said before about actual racists trying to legitimize their racism?), while others were just straight-up bullying her for having brown skin. This is a real phenomenon that you shouldn't discount just because you were falsely accused and/or suspected. -

I think making struggle phase more rewarding while in the killer's terror radius should fix camping. As in if you're being camped and you get to the struggle phase you get enough point to black pip or if you had enough objective at some point it might be enough to pip. This will encourage survivors who are being camped to stay and waste the killer's time. Being camped is not fun and in most cases players just suicide on hook when they realize they're being camped to just go to the next game and that in my opinion is why some killers still do it looking for the one hook kills and easy wins.
I think making looping phase more rewarding while being within a certain radius from the survivor should fix looping. If youre been looped and you follow the survivor, then you get enough emblem points as if the survivor didnt loop.
This will encourage killers who are being looped to stay and waste the survivors time. Being looped is not fun and in most cases killers just camp after being looped when they realize that they have been looped for several gens and just wiat till the game is over and proceed with the next game.
Btw, killers camp because survivors reward them for doing it and throwing each other at the hook instead of simply doing their objective, and yes thats an easy win if the survivors are stupid enough

Well maybe you need to be smarter and know when and where to break chase if someone is looping you for a long time then it means you're just being hard headed about that particular survivor instead of trying to look for other survivors who are not being pressured and doing their objective freely.
Not to mention they have nerfed looping to the ground with the vacuum changes and the fast window vaults angle. If you get looped for a long time then maybe you need to get better at the game.
TL;DR: The Survivor should be able to put the Killer in a situation where they have no choice but to let them go.
I think that says enough about you. -

Switch to a better connection plan and go for a wired connection only.Hundreds of kbps is fine for most online games. My money's on network instability due to a crappy ISP. @Shraar, what's your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?

I'm wondering: What is your usual ping while playing? My internet speed is 1.5 Mbps MAX so maybe this is on my end. I'm able to play MOBA where 0.75 can feel like an eternity without feeling laggy, and survivor works well enough. Please confirm: When you're the Killer, you're "hosting" the match, meaning everyone relies on your internet. Could that be why it's impossible for me to play as Killer, but not Survivor?
If so, I'll stop trying to play Killer at least, since I know the problem is on my end.
Your internet is not the issue, how much fps do you get ingame? If your capable of geting 60 then the hardware isnt the issue either.
Have you tried verifying your gamefiles via steam?
Could be an unstable connection. Some ISPs are unreliable.

Pipping is evidently too easy for both sides. And the only thing you get for ranking up is a longer lobby time.
Because people intentionally derank, causing even longer lobby times.

No one forces you. You just won't get that bonus. This is the only answer required for threads like this. You don't have to complete dailies if you don't want to, but if you don't want to, you don't get to demand the rewards either.

There is no way to exploit the game in a way to get advantage by the perk icon folder.
Also, your argument could be applied on cosmetics aswell, not really a good oneCosmetics are on the part of the screen you're looking at - your character. Perk icons are not.
Look, bottom line is, as far as anyone knows, nobody has been banned for using custom icons, but if it does happen, it's your own fault. -

Couldn't the devs set an exception for eac not to scan files? For example "Folder xy is not allowed to be scanned by eac"
This would be so easy to help the communityAnd then people who are good at programming would find ways to exploit that.
I'm sorry, but if you're actively paying attention to your perks' icons while playing, you're paying attention to the wrong thing. -
@DwightsLifeMatters said:
Really? I heard that the devs changed how the files are packed some time ago and this could be problematic, u know anything about that?Yes, it could be problematic, and everyone who uses custom icons could be banned. It depends on whether EAC detects it or not, and you're doing it at your own risk.

it uses the clock of your pc / console to extract a number, so if a map should have between 8 and 16 pallets, it makes random(8-16) and may give you 9, 12, 13 pallets etc depending on the status of your pc's clock in that moment was generatedsome quantum research says we can manipulate technology like this somehow btw
That's not how all random functions work, FYI.

I read somewhere that RNG draws the realm first, the map then, so Coldwind and Gideon realms should have the same probability. It doesn't. All maps have the same probability, regardless of realm.

In my opinion tunneling killers just suck at this game coz i get most of the time 3 to 4k without tunneling at all and i don't care about that if all survivors escape they were better player than me then...It's fine if you want to purposefully handicap yourself and pretend those who don't are less skilled, but keep it to yourself.
-
It's random. Whatever pattern you think you may see isn't actually there. Humans don't understand probability.

How did they know you were jew?The alt-right just calls everyone they don't like a Jew. Occasionally, they get it right. Such is the nature of statistics.

Okay King of Passive Insults ❤️If I wanted to insult you, I'd do so directly. It was poor phrasing on my part, nothing more.

You obviously know who I'm talking about, so does it really matter? Even Dean and Sam called him Yellow Eyes for a portion of the show. It's a quote from the show. Clearly, I overestimated your knowledge of Supernatural.

@Avariku said:
funniest part of that is Yellow Eyes having friends. xDThat's a direct quote from the first demon who revealed Azazel's name.

Lucifer, Yellow Eyes or Lillith would be awesome Killers ❤️
You think his friends just called him "Yellow Eyes"? He had a name.

They're the same community that came from FNaF and Undertale. Not good. You do know that Supernatural is older than both of those, right? And by a decade.
I'm a Supernatural fan, BTW, and I've never touched FNaF.As for the OP, this would be too expensive.
They have the same elitist attitude, at least the vocal minority. I'm not personally attacking you or anyone, I just don't want their community slapped onto ours. It really doesn't mix with DbD.
I've been immersed in the community for a long time, and I've never noticed this. Maybe you're just being prejudiced.
I don't want the weird fanart/cute edits part of that community. It is an absolute juxtaposition to Dead by Daylight. I might be slightly biased, but I'm not wrong.
You don't have to look at it if you don't want to.
