Let me know if this isn't the place to ask but,What happens when you have two negative speed modifiers that do not stack? i.e Sloppy Butcher & Thanatophobia. Which one would be applied first? And why?
Also, could you put the equation for speed modification in an unknown form? (Algebra, I have an extremely hard time deciphering equations like this when the numbers are already inputted. Me dumb.) If not that's totally cool, I'd do it myself but my head is getting confused with all these numbers
I assume the strongest debuff would be applied, whatever that may be. However, that's a programming question, and my answer is based on how I would do it.
The speed decrease is simply Π(1-xi), i = 1, ... , k; where x is the speed decrease, i is the index (in case there are many debuffs; each xi corresponds to a different debuff), and k is the total number of debuffs. The time increase is 1/Π(1-xi), i = 1, ... ,k. If you're not familiar with this notation, see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiplication#Capital_Pi_notation

What rank are you? Because if it is white and yellow ranks, then it is something you have to deal with, killers who can't play try to get kills, but it doesnt give them many blood points or pipsSo, in your mind, Killers who can't play get kills, meaning that those who can play don't get Kills. Do I have that right?

It is my understanding that, in the USA, prices sometimes do not include tax. Maybe that changed recently.

This is a PvP game. If you can't handle losing, go play something else.

No data should be "Assumed" when looking at a chart like this. SWF data was not presented separately and clearly, so nothing can be said about it. Of course SWF groups are beatable... The data would show how much higher their survival rates are compared to solo. Further proving the need for stronger tools to use against groups.
This doesnt makes sense to me. If its aparent that SWF was added in the data then it shows even SWF groups have less than 50% escape rate. This means killers shouldnt have more tools against groups it means solo players need buffs.
Do you not know what an average is or how it works?

you're actually advocating for the top tier players to be coddled while the rest of the players have to "git gud" just to stand a chance, so if anything, it would seem you're the type to forsake the masses in favor of the few. not me. xDYou don't know how game balance works. Thanks for letting me know not to waste my time with you.

exactly!!! they should build this game around the top 5% of players. [BAD WORD] anyone who isn't a pro-gamer or the average players, they don't deserve a good game.I take it you're also against social programs because you believe they take away your money?
Balancing a game at the top means that players of equal skill have an equal chance to win. It's beneficial for everyone. Are you at least with me on this, people keep bringing up DCs as kills, but the graph isn't tracking who does and doesn't get killed, it's tracking who is leaving, therefore DC data doesn't even matter.
I have no idea because I didn't watch the stream, and thus don't know what the devs said about the data.

Don't forget It was SenzuDuck telling us that healing at half the speed would take more than double the time.^^While I'm not a fan of SenzuDuck, I feel I should point out that so many people here showed they didn't understand how a speed reduction translated in terms of time increase that I made a thread explaining it in detail.

So you only want to take a hit if there's no risk, even though the action is supposed to be risky. What a surprise.
EDIT: I'd like to point out that your reaction says a lot about the balance of the game. You are literally complaining that taking a hit isn't safe. It's a calculated decision to let yourself take a hit for a teammate in order to make sure another player survives. If the killer has NOED and I go down for it, so be it. It's not rocket science to figure yeah a survivor would probably do that if they think they can take another hit.
I'm not being all "boo hoo crybaby" about dying for a teammate, I've attained my goal even if I died for it. The game has a system of being injured before you go into the dying state, healthy survivors use this knowledge to take hits for injured teammates. Sorry if my "reaction" made you feel upset about the balance but that's just how the cookie crumbles.
I'm just saying the OP has the point that NOED is the only instance where a status effect is applied on survivors without any indication, except the first exposed hit from Devour Hope (?). I play both on the side of survivors and killers in this game, I'm not being partial to either side by saying a survivor should know that they're exposed. It works in the killers' favor too if survivors see the exposed status and think to themselves they should just GTFO instead of trying something stupid.
Well, you miscalculated. It's your problem; you don't need more hand-holding.
-
Say the data is split between SWF and non-SWF. If SWF shows a different (higher/lower) overall survival rate relative to solo Survivors, that's useful data.
-
You could request more specific data, you know.

Where are you when people claim to face swf with instaheals and BNPs quite frequently/almost every game? LolGames should be balanced at the top; not at the mean or mode. Also, game balance and DCing have nothing to do with one another.

Your personal experience is not representative of the whole problem with DCing.

Devs say it's not an exploit, so it's not an exploit. I didn't do it back when it wasted DS because it was an exploit, but I may do it now in the 1% of cases where I'm close enough to the hook that it'll be worth it.

As for fixing it, that's a different issue altogether that they are working on, but this is not a priority. They're items and add-ons. Play Survivor and you'll have enough items and add-ons to last a lifetime.
People who actually lose their entire saves are owed something. You, on the other hand, are not owed jack #########. -

I agree that survivors should know that they are exposed instead of the status only being shown after the first hit. Artists don't fix bugs. What you're saying is equivalent to grocery stores being shut down to help farmers grow their food.

Its a really toxic way of playing for survivors. Whoever gets caught first has a crappy game, and the ones doing gens on the other side of the map get a boring game. But hey its fair and nobody can tell you how to play. Just dont complain when the survivors decide they want to wait at the exit gates teabagging you.To reiterate: if losing in a PvP game triggers some people, they should switch to games that are more skill-appropriate.

Don't worry, I deleted them. Profile owners can delete comments on their profile.

It does ruin the game for other people. It's such a lame playstyle. Its why trapper is boring as hell to play against because its the only way they play. Its not effective at high ranks either because you sacrifice map pressure for it.
This is a PvP game. If losing ruins the game for those people, then they need to switch to something more skill-appropriate. Maybe a sandbox game.

So many of you act like the last survivor knows where the hatch is. Vast majority of the time I can’t find it. It’s far from a free win. Not only does the killer already make a decent profit off the three kills it is preventable and the killer has free reign to keep an eye out for the hatch while survivors risk their lives searching. The hatch opening requires some progress. The killer has to put in the effort but that doesn’t mean they are entitled to a tilt every time. The hatch is a runner and mechanic that keeps the hope alive for a survivor to keep playing. Sure some people may abuse it but that’s a vast minority in my experience. The killer has a massive advantage against a survivor that is in the position to need the hatch to have a decent chance of living. In my eyes its simply the killer gets a healthy reward for 3 kills and the survivor that finds a hatch gets the hope that keeps them playing in otherwise hopeless games. Is it a perfect system no. But a killer isn’t entitled to the last kill and a survivor has to work for that last chance. Many of you act like it’s just handed to survivors.
Also to get really out of the box on this the horror genre is built on a single survivor having a macguffin to win in the end. But all their friends and family are still dead
And you are acting like Survivors won't sandbag each other for the extra points. This is a problem for both sides that comes from the fact that the hatch gives more points.

I've actually had the same thought about the variety of maps, and it always feels like the indoor maps like "The Game" almost never come up, and yet in every play session I'm on coldwind farmAn idea I've had to help with this issue would be to track backward each of the 5 players most recent maps, and weigh the "common missing" maps more heavily, so an example would be
Meg last 5 maps: Map 1, Map 7, Map 9, Map 4, Map 1
Dwight last 5 maps: Map 7, Map 7, Map 1, Map 4, Map 9
Claudette last 5 maps: Map 2, Map 7, Map 1, Map 9, Map 5
Jake's last 5 maps: Map 9, Map 7, Map 1, Map 4, Map 5Trappers last 5 maps: Map 9, Map 8, Map 1, Map 9, Map 6
Since no player has recent been on map 3,4, or any map number above 10, it will weigh those maps more heavily, and since every player has been to Map 1 recently, it will have almost no weight.
Since Map 7 for one player has been played twice or more in the last 5 matches, it should also be weighed less heavily, as 3/5 times of playing on the same map would be boring, but this system would allow the best variety for each player in the match, and help avoid long streaks for any individual player (not counting
map offerings of course).A couple problems off the top of my head:
This would require a fairly complex algorithm that took into account every map in existence (and thus would only grow in size with each new map), as well as a way to save this information on their servers.
It'd incentivize DCing on "bad maps" (i.e.: maps you suck in), leading to the Survivors having more power over which maps the Killers play on (there's four of them, after all, and to take that into account would only make the algorithm even more complex) without even having to use an offering. As the orangutan put it, sounds good, doesn't work.
