Its unfair that the game penalizes a killer for survivors abruptly ending the game, intentionally or not.
The survivors get 5k BP EACH as compensation for a kilelr ragequit and keep their items but killers only get 2,5k for ALL DCs together and lose all their stuffPS4 doesn’t. We lose everything we brought, all points earned, and sometimes the prevoius games data. Devs said they don’t care

I should, but I don’t feel like going through hours of footage. I guess throw away my statement, but remember they know it’s an issue and haven’t addressed it for more than a year?
Which is not the same as saying they don't care.

Yes, because as Orion pointed out already, they weren't buffs as such. The only actual "buffs" she got were a cool-down reduction to 15 seconds for her Powers (instead of the former 20 seconds) and the Prayer Beads Bracelet to eliminate all phasing sounds. Everything else was intended from the start. The sole reason it wasn't ready then was that the sound interactions with the Terror Radius turned out to be more complicated to program than the devs anticipated.
Im not every day hero on forums here i didnt know that . Reducing cooldown speed was a buff though
So you admittedly threw out a baseless opinion instead of even trying to figure out why she was "buffed"?
My thread is not about spirit in particular its about that we always going to get balance changes just because people complain. Have you read it ?
That's as true as saying that the more people (ab)use an exploit, the quicker it gets fixed. In other words, it's patently false.

Fair enough then, but it's the way most killers come out with that as an excuse to every problem survivors have that irks me.I said something sinilar but at least I tried to help the guy by expanding on it so soften the blow.
Sorry, but at this point, you're either a noob (at life), or you know that hiding is your best bet to not be found. It's literally the definition of "hiding".

@The_Crusader said:
I was referring to the guy who simply said "don't get caught".My advice was more "don't get caught first".
I don't know what answer you're looking for. As I said the best you can do is try everything in your power to not be caught first - because those caught first suffer the old camp and tunnel.
I know it's not always possible but then I don't know what to tell you. You have no control over what the killer does so if it's going to happen then it's going to happen. There's very little you can do other than pray that when unhooked they go for rhe person who unhooks you instead.
Yeah, I'm the guy who said it because, as you said, there's really nothing you can do to control the Killer's behavior. All you can do is try your best to stay off the hook; i.e. don't get caught.
-
Because you called her intended state a buff, yes.

@The_Crusader said:
This is what all killer mains say because apparantly they're all perfect at the game and never get caught. The reality is you need to play extra stealthy until someone else is caught first. Don't start on the gen straight away, use Urban Evasion. Once the killer has been past your location or has starred chasing someone else then you can relax because they'll probably camp them instead.
Try to learn which killer you're up against first. I find Myers are ok, but if it's a Spirit, Hag or Trapper then yeah you're sure as hell getting camped and tunneled until death.
Just lay low at the start. If you have the bad luck of your location being the first place the killer goes to and you aren't able to hide because they catch a glimpse of you then you might be screwed. Just stay on the hook to waste their time and hope the other survivors gen rush. Garbage people play in garbage ways.
Not a Killer main, sweetheart, but I see your advice can also be summarized as "don't get caught". The difference is, I don't insult people who use strategies I don't like.

Looping does not help Survivors escape. How does being chased help you escape, exactly?

Don't get caught.Wow. I never thought of that. Very constructive. sarkasm off
And how do you intend to do that?Hide. Play stealthily. Use perks like Premonition and Dark Sense.
-
The Spirit changes were intended from the start. They released her in the state she was because they couldn't make the necessary changes. They weren't buffs; you're just bad.
-
I've proposed the following, among others:
- Increased progression the further the Killer is from the hook, past a certain radius, with an immediate double progression speed if the Killer enters a chase. This would both make hook rushing detrimental and reward the Killer for leaving the hook.
- Broken status for all Survivors who have been hooked. This would make hooks relevant in the long-term.
-
Never play Steam games during Steam's weekly maintenance. This is something you learn when you start using Steam.
-
Better solutions have been offered before, but the underlying issue here is that camping is a Survivor-created problem with a Survivor-side solution. If Survivors didn't feed campers 9 times out of 10, camping wouldn't have become the problem it is today. It makes zero sense to punish Killers in any way, shape or form, for a problem that Survivors created.
I already showed you mathematically why luck perks and offerings are already very powerful. You have a 62.7% chance to unhook yourself if everyone uses the perk and offering I mentioned previously. You may think there's no reason to use them, but the mathematics do not support your case at all.

Giving free hooks isn't the intent behind the fix, and an error of thinking was pointed out to me so I amended the idea, but I for one believe that the goal of the killer is to seek out and kill all survivors, camping is not conducive to this goal and it makes the game less fun overall.Interesting, I didn't realize the numbers worked out that way, I never took probability though I would have liked to, what is the formula involved in that calculation? And even if they would have to be nerfed into oblivion that doesn't mean the idea itself is poor, it just means that the numbers would be much smaller, there's nothing wrong with that. The base chance to catch a shiny pokemon is 1/8192 but that doesn't mean it's absurd because it's a super tiny number, sometimes numbers are well into the decimals, that's pretty normal.
It may not be the intent, but that's what "punish the Killer for being near the hook" suggestions result in. Either that or hooking a Survivor becomes actively detrimental to the Killer, because not only are they "prohibited" from protecting their kill, but they're actively punished for trying to do so.
It's a simple binomial distribution taking into account the cumulative result P(X>=1). Just google "stat trek binomial calculator" and do the math yourself.
-
Don't get caught.
-
Punishing the Killer for being near the hook does not work. It simply forces Killers to give free unhooks, which is absurd.
Giving Survivors "unlimited", 1% attempts to get off the hook would result in a whopping 39.5% chance of unhooking yourself if you made use of all 50 attempts, which is about three and a half times what it currently is (11.5% if you make use of all 3 attempts, up to 62.7% if everyone is using Up The Ante and Vigo's Jar Of Salty Lips). With your numbers, it'd be a virtual guarantee (>99.9999%) of getting off the hook by yourself if everyone was using Up The Ante and Vigo's Jar Of Salty Lips.
For the chances to be the same, you'd have to seriously decrease the chance of getting off the hook and nerf the luck offerings and Up The Ante to the point of oblivion. -

The Nurse and Killers with ranged attacks should be slower than M1 Killers. This adds a layer of complexity to the game.
Yeah, I wasn't exactly thinking about her. She's the only one IMO who should have a slower movement speed. Making killers have a 110% movement speed, honestly, is a cop-out on the dev's part. More effort should go into the power to make it balanced, instead of adjusting the base movement speed.
The balance comes, in part, from the reduced movement speed. ######### up with the Huntress, for example, and you will have a hard time actually catching Survivors. You are rewarded for using the power effectively and punished for not doing so.

I remember back when some Nurse players just chased survivors down rather than blink, since they moved faster than survivors. Good old times.
She could still work as an M1 Killer back then, so her skill floor was lower. Now, however, you either git gud or you lose.
Well currently we have this stupid situation where if somebody is perfect at the nurse you have no chance to escape. This would be fine for an esports title but this isn't one.
If you're perfect as Survivor, there's roughly a 50/50 chance you'll escape against someone who is perfect with the Nurse.

The same fearmongering was present when the game was released over two years ago, yet the game has only grown since then. Maybe it's time to accept that some people are going to play in what they believe to be the most efficient manner and won't handicap themselves for your benefit.

Lets be honest. At this point in the game if you still use NOED as a killer you're trash.Using it a year ago was questionable. Trying to justify it now is like a survivor trying to justify using Dstrike a year ago.

15-20 games played today, 100% NOED.After it's ridiculously unneeded buff to cause EXPOSED on every tier, when should we expect to just become baseline for every killer?
Actually I doubt it, but I would be glad if they made it baseline. The fact is NOED is a dramatic perk which add to the suspense of the game by hard pressuring the survivors right before their exit. It add a simple question to the end game : "who will be brave enough to not flee for their life and, find that godamn totem ?" This switch of tempo right before the end, is fun and exactly what should be expected from an horror game.
But why do survivor don't like NOED, are they not up for the extra challenge and surprise ? Of course they are, but here's the thing ... they LOVE to stick around when the gates are powered. They hidde in bushes and farm every tiny bit of bloodpoint they can, and of course this has been so easy for them, that they usually don't feel the URGE to escape at all !
Those survivor trolls, are always looking for the hatch instead of exiting through already wide open gates, and eventually they take it for granted. So of course, when people are tired that survivors get to jerk around instead of moving on to another game, they play NOED to extra pressure them and eventually teach them a lesson. But do they learn ?
HELL NO THEY DON'T ! Instead they insult the killer in the after game lobby and go straight to this forum to complain about the very existence of this perk. So all I have to say to them is:
"Stop bitching and do yourself a favor: leave the f***ing game when the gates are powered !"^This. NOED is not a problem for me because I make use of Dark Sense and forethought. I see the Killer going to patrol one exit, follow them, and wait for them to leave. Once they leave, I open it and escape. Problem solved.
-
Nope. That just drives up queue times for good players, who will get avoided more often than not. This was already tried and failed in other games.

Both NOED and DS should be replaced with somewhat decent perks while not being too OP, both are trash and reward poor play/toxicityExcept both reward poor play on the Survivor side. DS for being caught, NOED for not breaking totems. The only difference is that one benefits Survivors, and the other benefits Killers. In other words, Survivors are the cause of their problems.
-
I'd prefer it to activate when the Killer goes into the exit gate. Activates an unlimited number of times, but each activation has a limited duration.
-
Platform-specific issues are not balance issues, period. This is like saying bugs and cheats are balance issues. Balance issues arise from the intended mechanics of the game; not from someone playing on inferior hardware or exploiting the game.

It has a counter. Use it. If you don't use it, you have no business complaining about it.

What is the killer supposed to do in such a game then?If killers were buffed even more to compete against swf, then solo players would no longer have any chance of survival.
Don't get me wrong, swf is a problem that must absolutely be solved, but nerfing survivors even more isn't the right way.
In any case try to look at the problem objectively, regardless of which role you play the most.Games should always be balanced by taking into account the very top-tier players, and not noobs. The devs are bringing up solo Survivors to the same level as SWF, and buffing Killers accordingly.

The only thing I would really want nerfed about the Nurse is the effectiveness of her Blink when going through walls. Most blinks are okay because they are based on line of sight (going over short obstacles, going through a vault window or pallet), but I think the speed and range should be less effective when going through a solid object where you cannot see where you land.Blinks where you can't see where you land are already less effective just from the fact that you can't see where you land.
Her power, from a design perspective, is borderline perfect. Rewarding if used properly, but equally punishing if not. If you can't see where you're blinking to, that gives Survivors who may be hiding behind cover an advantage. Her design is borderline perfect wow did you just say that? She's broken fundamentally. Most DBD players are just not good enough to utilize her fully, if this game was popular as hell they'd have already nerfed the crap out of her because ppl like shroud would have 100% winrate on her.
Yes, I did, because that's what it is. People can complain all they'd like, but the fact is, if you lose against a Nurse, it's because you were worse than the person playing her. That's why she's almost perfectly designed.
Delaying tactics (e.g.: looping) that require zero thought and effort don't work with her. You have to actually know how to play the game: hide, break line of sight, and so on. That's why people complain about her, because they only know how to prolong chases, rather than win or avoid them in the first place. There's many maps where you cannot hide/break line of sight and mostly you hitting the survivor is ENTIRELY on your part as nurse. As said if somebody like shroud would play this game nobody would ever escape.
There are maps where it's harder to hide, but there is no map where you can't hide. There are perks to help with stealth, but they're barely used because if a Survivor perk is not broken and doesn't allow for self-sustainability, it's not worth taking.
