The only thing I would really want nerfed about the Nurse is the effectiveness of her Blink when going through walls. Most blinks are okay because they are based on line of sight (going over short obstacles, going through a vault window or pallet), but I think the speed and range should be less effective when going through a solid object where you cannot see where you land.

Blinks where you can't see where you land are already less effective just from the fact that you can't see where you land.
Her power, from a design perspective, is borderline perfect. Rewarding if used properly, but equally punishing if not. If you can't see where you're blinking to, that gives Survivors who may be hiding behind cover an advantage.

Her design is borderline perfect wow did you just say that? She's broken fundamentally. Most DBD players are just not good enough to utilize her fully, if this game was popular as hell they'd have already nerfed the crap out of her because ppl like shroud would have 100% winrate on her.

Yes, I did, because that's what it is. People can complain all they'd like, but the fact is, if you lose against a Nurse, it's because you were worse than the person playing her. That's why she's almost perfectly designed.
Delaying tactics (e.g.: looping) that require zero thought and effort don't work with her. You have to actually know how to play the game: hide, break line of sight, and so on. That's why people complain about her, because they only know how to prolong chases, rather than win or avoid them in the first place.

The only "nerf" I think the nurse needs is that she should be pallet stunned when blinking through a thrown pallet, that's really dumb that they don't fix that.

She's teleporting. Do you know what that means?

i dont care man, if she goes right through it as I'm throwing the pallet she should either get stunned before she swings or pop up behind the pallet. I don't consider this a nerf just consistency with the game design

Get better informed about what teleportation is, and then you'll see why this is ridiculous.

Noed is balanced? it rewards the killer for playing bad

It rewards the Killer for Survivors not breaking totems before finishing generators.

We already have incentive not to camp, for example BBQ and devour hope.
The problem is that said incentives provide not such a strong advantage to compensate for the looping timeyou would need to endure to catch another survivor

^This. I started using MYC on the Spirit, but I only have it at tier 1. By the time I actually catch up, the timer has run out.

I could try dusting off my Nurse skills for a few trials, but I wouldn't exclusively play Nurse. Repetition gives way to boredom.
If you're interested, come watch my stream (twitch.tv/blaziken_rjcf). Let me know in the chat and I'll play Nurse for you.

Aye thank you for the suggestion what times do you usually stream (US Eastern time zone)

I usually stream for 2-3 hours starting at 9-10 PM UTC (dunno what it translates to in your time zone).
EDIT: Also, keep in mind that I haven't played Nurse in a while, so I'm very rusty and will make a ton of mistakes.

  • I tried playing nice and allowing everyone to farm, but Survivors wouldn't grant me the same benefit. Now everyone dies.

  • Can you git gud instead? If you're losing against the Nurse, it's because you were worse than the person playing her, plain and simple.

the devs already stated that they want it this way because newer people coming into the game would have a harder time with a bunch of numbers everywhere

I think the community should consider this an insult if the devs said that.

Given that people can't tell the difference between a decrease in interaction speed and an increase in interaction time, you may want to retract that statement.

    It doesn't. Not any more.

actually, and this is like the one time i actually disagree with out, there is an auto aim in the game. when a killer starts to attack, the game marks an area of effect in front of the killer, and if a survivor hitbox happens to be inside this area, the killers weapon will automatically connect to the survivor. that way it looks more smooth and logical when you attack them.

That's an animation lock, of sorts, which is different from auto-aim.
Auto-aim means the game locks on to your targets if they're within your attack range, even if you're not looking at them.

What this game had was aim assist, which, ironically, made hitting Survivors more difficult. Survivors believed they were getting hit when they shouldn't be and blamed it on "auto-aim" (instead of their own mistakes). The devs removed it, despite the warnings from Killers that the aim assist was actually preventing a good number of hits (especially on the Nurse - trust me on that), and was thus a good thing for Survivors.
Now that it's gone, they still can't just own up to their failures, so the boogeyman came out to play again.

  • Like everything else, it's just an extension of the Entity.

Even as a native English speaker I would prefer numbers much more as well. "Considerably" may sound like a lot and then you come to find out it's just like 10% and now you know it's really not as good as you thought it was.

10% of what? 10% can be a lot.

  • @βLAKE said:
just go to the wiki it tells you the numbers. I think the devs didn't add it into the descriptions because of the math involved and it's too much info to place into every description.

Even if they added it, people have already shown they don't understand the numbers that are already there.

  • It doesn't. Not any more.

  • Ignore and report them if they sent you hate messages.

  • @Bravo0413 The wiki put it up with a notice that it was speculative, based on prior releases. It's not the wiki's fault that people don't read notices.

  • @neomasterr said:
Why camper-main players should play this killer, if they can camp with bubba? ;)

Read the perk description again. The idea is that if the Killer is far away from the hook, he gets a notification when Survivors get close to it.

The problem with a Killer who can take on the appearance of a Survivor is that people who are talking to each other can just say that it's the Killer. In other words, SWF (Survive With Friends) will have a big advantage over this Killer.
The second perk is very weak, and not worth using. Even 40 meters is too much to be able to do anything. By the time you get there, the obsession is gone.

  • Hey, look at that, now that Survivor mains don't have to play Killer, queues are back to normal. Probably not the event, though.

  • You don't have Bill because of Valve. Purposefully giving you a character no other platform gets is absurd.

8/10 because while I don't blame them for the oversight that caused the current lobby issues, it did kinda ruin the event.

If someone had an oversight would it not be their fault?

    Depends on the oversight.
The Nurse not being able to blink on certain tiles? That's not acceptable.
Failing to take into consideration what would happen when one side finished their event? Easy to overlook if you're also busy creating new interactions, spawn points, etc., for an event.

Seems like a pretty obvious issue that would arise, I'd put it under the same category as nurse unable to blink on certain tiles. I wouldn't exactly call this an unusual outcome. The event played out exactly as planned, the plan just wasn't designed well.

Hindsight is 20/20. Like I said, it's easy to overlook this "obvious" issue if you're also busy creating a bunch of stuff for the event.

Why don't you blame them? This should've and could've easily been pointed out by someone at BHVR before the event started. All they seemed to be thinking about was the $50-70 they would get from people purchasing the outfits after the event ended (depending on what they bought with vials).

Because to err is human (and to forgive is divine), and because people like you immediately assume malicious intent for every little mistake.

  • Let's see if I get this straight. This is the timeline of events:

    1. Normal queue times before the event.
    2. Patch containing the event.
    3. Normal queue times at the start of the event.
    4. High queue times when Survivors have finished getting all their vials.

Your conclusion is that the event is completely unrelated, even though the issues were absent before the event and shortly after the event was released. Do I have that right?

Why are positive modifiers not applied the same way as negative ones? (I understand that if negative modifiers were done like the positive ones, you could end up with a 0 charge per second result.)

It's probably because it's more intuitive to do it like that. That would be my guess.

The animation confirms that to us. The dev who wrote that is writing it from Benedict's perspective. The Trapper had been heavily modified by the serum.

I would like the record to show that by writer I mean the in-lore writer, who we're assuming is Benedict? And assuming this is current (the logs are being written as we go), the trapper only got infected yesterday/today. Meaning it was the mask that he was calling it, or the traps. Both seem..like odd things to call a "mechanical mouth"

Well, he is from the 19th century, right?

Basically you are right, but don't forget that you will have better latency to a server than to another random player in the p2p system

    That's not how servers work.

  • No. I don't consider NOED to be a threat because I use Dark Sense to go to the exit that the Killer just checked.

  • Either it's a forum bug that happens from time to time, or you were talking about something that violates the game's rules (deranking, for example).

Is not server cost is game refactoring cost.

Emptygarden was built to be competitive and become famous that's why it had servers.

It failed miserably but that proved that dedicated server is not an expense bhvr is not willing to do.

Please keep in mind that in dedicated servers killers would try to hook themselves with frustration without their constant lag advantage.

If you play with high ping, that's your fault. Stop blaming P2P and just admit you made bad choices and are not as good as you think you are.

  • The frequency of rank resets must be proportional to how easy it is to rank up, or the matchmaking will stop working properly. Since it's easy to rank up, rank resets must be more frequent.

  • No. I hate that business model. I already bought the game.

  • Probably not, since the brightness levels are also part of the balance of the game.

What I try to not do is but dance and taunt a killer though and I especially hate the idea of snapping off against a killer at the end of a game. If he got me, good match! HOpefully I learn and do better next time. If I got away, also good match!

Tonight I've been trying killer out and wow, I now understand what Killers mean by survivors ruin games. We're awful. I can't imagine wanting to keep playing this game as a killer. It has nothing to do with being looped or juked, I suck as a killer and expect it. What I mean is at the end in the chat, the sheer salt when someone dies or taunts, EZ you suck etc etc.

    We're just awful.

if a killer plays doctor with ultra-rare add-ons, and rude perks i will be toxic till the end when i message GG EZ

^This is why, OP. Because Survivors like him think Killers aren't allowed to use the perks and add-ons they worked for.

Furthermore, what would the devs have to gain from lying about this, exactly?

Is it that difficult for you to just admit that someone who disagrees with you on some subjects is right?

@Orion True, but what survivor wouldn't try to escape? The only reason people don't do it every time they're hooked is that they have a better chance of living if they wait for a teammate. I suppose they could just not try to escape to spite the killer, but in that case as I said, the killer doesn't have to stay and watch, they can patrol the map and try to get last-minute bloodpoints. Besides, 60 seconds isn't the end of the world. I think the survivor having the chance to escape (because why shouldn't they get the same opportunity to get that 4% that their teammates had, if they were good enough to not get hooked the entire game) is more important than the possibility of the killer being "bored". And if 60 seconds is that important to you, you can always save time by dc'ing.

Also, to address your other point - I already said that I don't think they should be able to struggle. Just have the chance to attempt an escape.

What Survivor wouldn't try to escape? Is that a serious question? Just look at how you're acting - you think the Killer should DC if the Survivor chooses to waste the Killer's time. The toxic Survivors are always looking for new ways to troll and bully Killers.
