@TreemanXD PS4 EU? Playtime in the early evening?

You lose a lot of credibility when you say stuff like that.
I know at least on console killer lobbies are instant and survivor lobbies take awhile.
@TreemanXD That user's choice of words was too harsh, but his point isn't wrong. Killer lobbies on rank 1/2 aren't instant.
-
I only read your short summary, not the original op, therefore sorry if I'm missing something.
Basically, I think 6 perk slots are too many. It would most likely widen the gap between solo players and SWF which is probably not what you want.
Also, since you could only use certain perks in these slots, it would make for even less perk variety in the middle and high ranks.

20 days later and this is still outta control.
It's to the point that if there are 4 Claudettes (my main) all dressed differently - DC.
When is this going to end?
Lobby dodging isn't "outta control". I play a lot of survivor and it absolutely isn't a problem. Don't choose outfits that make you look like a troll SWF and don't overdo it with items and you are fine.
The real problem is the huge amount of dc's everywhere. That is what makes this game unplayable at the moment.

@Oblitiry said:
It's basically the survivor version of NOED. It has counters and ways to play around it. But constantly crying that it's "OP" or "unfair" is the way to go.
Congratulations killers. You now understand the feelings of people that hate NOED.
This would be the part where we all get along and bond over shared feelings. XD
@Oblitiry "MoM has counters" - The only counters for M1 killers are hard camping and moris. And here I thought survivors don't want killers to play that way.

I wonder if you get a "badge" for it?
That would lead to a special kind of trophy hunt...
-
It's super new. And no Awesome anymore. Please give us Awesome back!
-
@Peanits Can we please keep the "Awesome" function?
-
@Orion You didn't? And here I thought kids in Europe would learn the other European countries + capitals in geography, no matter which country they are living in.
-
@Orion You don't have much confidence in the education system, do you?
-
@Hoodedfengm1n No idea, never heard of it either. Just something I found on Google.

Ohio, Oklahoma, and Oman are the only ones with O to start I think
yup, and Oslo

@Hoodied said:
@NoShinyPony Okay then the next killer is literally from the middle east
Except for Freddy, these are just country names in alphabetical order. There is no other country with "o" the devs could have chosen.
-
"Oman" is just the codename of the next chapter.
(Freddy - England, Pig - Finland, Clown - Guam, Spirit - Haiti, Legion - Kenya, Plague - Mali)

My guess is, the thread was deleted for another reason. The supposed new map leak was presented as being accurate and real. The new leaks are being presented as being potentially fake.
Could be the reason.
If there aren't any more leaks, we will know for sure in 6 weeks when the next PTB will be released. Or even before that, if the devs want to give us a big teaser.

@ClogWench said:
People keep saying it's an additional hit for free but it costs a whole perk slot for one single use. As well as a lot of time spent healing. That ain't free.
@ClogWench Against good survivors, that additional hit means one more gen being done. A great trade for 1 perk slot.

@NoShinyPony And then I'd get a warning, possibly some jail time as well. And there are no conjugal visits in forum jail.
@Orion You have a forum wife?
-
@George_Soros said:
I usually don't risk not healing against her: too worried about the addon that makes your aura visible to her every time you puke. Which is all the time.
@George_Soros Also she has 115% speed. Players don't heal against the old 110% Legion but will probably start to do so after the changes with the midchapter update.

@NoShinyPony Which would only work until the people who I actually would ban, assuming I had such users in mind, came here asking if I'd ban them.
@Orion Then you could always reply with "it's such a nice weather today" or ask people for their favourite icecream.

In another thread, another user was wondering why one of these threads was deleted if the leaks are fake. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Hmm... at least threads with fake "leaks" should be treated the same way. Close all or close none. It's confusing when some are getting closed while others stay open.

@Orion said:

@Poweas @TreemanXD Even if I had specific users in mind, I couldn't name them due to that name and shame rule.
@Orion You could name the ones you wouldn't ban. 😛
-
@Orion said:
Killers are designated as "slashers" in the game files, IIRC. This is most likely fake.
That's correct, it's also mentioned in the DbD Wiki.
I'm just confused why the mods aren't closing these threads if the "leaks" are faked. A couple of days ago, there was a thread with a faked "screenshot" that implied Woodsboro would be the next map. That thread got closed to prevent rumours/misinformation from being spread.
-
@PunL Yes, Ruin is easily destroyed and too often doesn't last long enough. That doesn't mean that a killer can afford to not bring Ruin.
When Ruin is destroyed in the beginning of the game (or not used at all), it usually means that the killer will get genrushed. You just can't down good survivors fast enough with the average M1 killer.
-
The mid chapter update will most likely go live after the 2x BP event has ended.

The solution is easy; simply count DC as a regular sacrifice with the entity catching the surv (as in EGC), so the surv cannot express the passive agressivity of DCing, and besides, add deranking penalty
I support that DCs should NOT lead to ban
Excessively dc'ing should lead to time-outs and ultimatively to bans. There is no getting around it.
@twistedmonkey said:
They have already acknowledged the problem and said they will be looking at other solutions/punishments when dedicated servers come.
@twistedmonkey It's several months until dedicated servers will go live. I fear that the situation will worsen even more. I'm not sure if doing anything about this issue can wait that long. If things go bad, there might be a permanent damage to the community.
-
It's not important for me.
Also, there are so many things the devs need to do, there is no room for anything like that, I'm afraid.
-
@Delfador Correct. Your average M1 killer has to use Ruin + Enduring + Spirit Fury + one tracking perk and that's it.
-
@FSB75 That's not the case. The killer hosts the match, but there is still communication between BHVR's server and each player. The devs can see who is dc'ing how often.
From a technical point of view, the devs could already punish those players who dc excessively.
-
The problem is that the killer needs other perks more (to help with finding or chasing survivors). There are only 4 perk slots, and 1 is taken by Ruin. I can't see Dark Devotion being more than a fun perk.
-
@Donnyc said:
Determining disconnects
With dedicated servers, all players are connected to one server. If one player loses connection, everyone else will remain connected. This information will help us better identify and punish players who intentionally disconnect going forward.
@Donnyc The devs already know which players are dc'ing. The current problem: Some dc's are not intentional. We know that there are a lot of cases where the game just crashes and you can't punish those players for the game being buggy.
First, fix the problem with the big amount of crashes, afterwards bring punishments for dc'ing.
@MegsAreEvil said:
People who think bans would THE solution are narrow minded.
@MegsAreEvil The alternative to punishing players for excessively dc'ing is to not punish them. That definitely isn't a solution.
-
We are not talking about perma-bans for everyone. It should start with a small time-out so that players are warned that they can't continue like this.
Those players who then continue to excessively dc (and get perma-banned in the end) are no loss for this game and the community.

Yes and if it's not pop up than u have to assume that someone is in the near... and is NOT working on a gen.
I think that BBQ are really more powerful than WGLF because it gives you a knocklegde advantage AND gives more blood points. And if you have a 4K than it didn't matter if you were camping or not.
Survivor earns less BPs anyway so why you should give killers more advantages for a BP farming perk than survivor? I am the opinion that a BP farming perk SHOULNDN'T give you any advantages at all.
@MJ_Out You misunderstand. It's a good thing if a killer uses BBQ and goes to another survivor. The killer doesn't camp and this is what we want. Why would we want to take the aura reading away and discourage the killer from leaving the hook?

I think they have stats that tell them when a survivor crashes and when he DCs on purpose
@tt_ivi_99 They can't tell the difference between a legit crash and a player just closing the game. (I'm not talking about leaving a match via the menu, I'm talking about closing the game.)
-
@yeet I've never seen somebody with this name before and since this community isn't that big... Well, it wasn't you. No big deal then.

@[Deleted User] said:
Ban every single thing such as camping slugging teabagging whatever they say "I had to DC cause of this". I'm sure they will still DC when they are losing. Simple, ban DC players. At least limit their matchmaking over 30min. I'm sick of it.
@Kanzaki Exactly. Some players would always dc, simply because they can't accept a defeat. It's this way with other video games as well. That's why we need punishments.
However, punishments would be a bit tricky at the moment. There a lot of incidents where players don't dc on purpose. You can't punish players for the game being buggy.
So yes, punishments are important, but the issues with freezing/crashing need to be solved first.
-
Freddy is weak and has some problems, but getting blinded + stunned from non-dreamworld-survivors is fine. These are just things every other killers has to deal with as well.
Take a look at it from this perspective: At least they can't bodyblock you when you carry a survivor to the hook.
-
Imho the suggestion to get at least yellow items is fine. That wouldn't be too powerful.

@yeet I just saw you playing Backpack-Meg on Léry's on somebody's stream. :)
-
Your getting-downed-animation had not finished. You got up with Adrenaline as soon as the animation ended. It was unlucky timing.
-
The chase is the fun part of DbD, for both survivors and killers.
What we need is not to shorten chases, but to give the killer more time = a 2nd objective for survivors.

Meh i just want the crapper to be released already
@AChaoticKiller In all seriousness, I would totally buy the Crapper. Imagine it from the devs' perspective: Easy and low-effort to implement and for sure very popular at the same time!

That literally did not help. I play nurse and huntress at rank 1 all the time, compared to pc it is much more demanding with a controller.
But thanks for the input, Nurse main. I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t know that you main nurse
That doesn’t explain the FPS issue and regular lag spikes.
But gId GuD! Seriously, I totally agree with you. You can't compare playing Huntress with mouse + keyboard to controller. I'd really like to see support for m+k. And fps got a bit better over the last months but we aren't where we need to be.
-
This game could be perfect and some people would still ragequit simply because they can't accept a defeat.
That's why we need punishments.

@ClogWench said:
I get that MoM is annoying but it's really not that bad. It very rarely makes a difference between in the end.
@ClogWench If that perk doesn't have an impact, then we could rework it, right?
-
Freddy is still the weakest. Watching helplessly for the dream transition to end while gens get finished, totems get cleansed, survivors get unhooked or healed, exit gates get opened right in front of your eyes? Only with Freddy.
-
Trapper isn't a strong killer. If you want to have a chance winning against good, coordinated SWF groups, you have to play Nurse. Hillbilly can sometimes also work. That's the current state of the game.
I'd really like to see some good buffs for killers and more information for solos (to bring them closer to SWF). Everyone should be able to have fun and win, no matter which role they play.
-
MoM is too powerful against M1 killers. The only "counter" is to camp the MoM users to death or to tunnel them off the hook and mori them. And do we want to encourage killers to play that way?
Several MoMs per game combined with the already existing 2nd chances is too much.

Proposal: you can't escape with RBTs like before, but it slows down EGC timer like downed and hooked survivors?
@thatguyinktown That's also my thought. If the devs feel that it is necessary to do something about the RBTs in the endgame, the logical thing to do would be to slow down the EGC timer.
How it currently is, they just nerfed a killer who wasn't that strong in the first place.
