If killers get lobbies straight away then surely their is more red rank killers as they’ll get 2 games per 1 as a surviver
Are you trolling? When killers get instant lobbies and survivors have to wait, that does mean that there are only few killers and lots of survivors.
-
@DeKillerKiller Too bad we don't have the kappa face here. 😅

@DBDplayersRsaltyAFha said:
Their is no killer shortage at red ranks.... their is obviously more low ranks than red however surviver Q times are bad no matter what rank you are
Of course there is a killer shortage, especially at red ranks. Killers have instant lobbies, survivors have to wait, doesn't matter if you are red or green. If there was no shortage, queue times would be different.
And red rank survivors are facing green and purple killers all the time.
-
The Trapper already has to spend so much valuable time with setting traps around loops and gens. The player doesn't have time to care about lockers and chests against good teams.

Me, trying to understand how an ally got to Red Rank when they get downed in 2 seconds and keep blowing up the gens.
You pip too easy as survivor. I'm playing against some red rank survivors who run in a straight line and ignore pallets and windows. 🤷♀️

The fact the devs have avoided commenting on queue times, to me means they don't actually know what to do about it or how to go about solving the problem yet....
If you don't have enough killers, there is no quick fix to the situation. You have to make changes about the game, so that more people would want to play killer.
The only thing you can try to get an effect fast is giving the role that is not played enough bonus bloodpoints.
-
There aren't enough red rank killers, so purple and green killers have to play against red rank survivors. We need some changes to the game, so that more people want to play killer, especially at the higher ranks.
Showing who is SWF would encourage killers to dodge SWF, so that is not a solution. What the devs could do is give the killer bonus bloodpoints and Emblem points for facing SWF, since it is obviously more difficult than playing against solos.
-
The opposite is going to happen. With the new rank reset, you'll have half the community at red ranks within 2 seasons.
And I agree. Playing solo survivor one year ago was totally fine. Now, it's really frustrating.
-
Exactly. If you feel that a perk is unbalanced, complain about the perk itself.
-
DbD has the most toxic community of non-esports games I know. It's one of the major reasons why I hesitate to recommend this game to other people.
Additionally, a lot of mechanics could be changed to lessen the amount of toxicity.

EGC kills me more times than the killer. Common scenario for me - last survivor, killer finds hatch before I do, killer proceeds to patrol exit gates since they are usually right next to each other.
I find a nice quiet place to die.
Out of curiosity: Why do you prefer to wait 2 minutes for the EGC to kill you instead of letting yourself get killed by the killer and moving on the next match faster?

I can see how that would be the case yeah
Maybe if crows would apear above your head and it give sound queues to the killee like it would if you remain in a place for too long?
Or would that be to much?
For me personally it would be okay, but there are also a lot of players who prefer to play stealthy. I'm afraid too many people would not like this.
-
This game has always been survivor sided. It baffles me everytime when my fellow survivor mains don't see how easy we have it compared to killers. 🤷♀️
-
You mean after the gens are done, the survivors don't have anything to do and wait for 2 minutes until they can escape? That won't work. Survivors will just randomly hide on the map and wait for these 2 minutes to pass. Super boring for everyone.

Before PC went to dedicated servers the metrics would show 2/3:1 survivor/killer ratio's.
What I suspect is that if you're a regular killer or perhaps if you a regular to buy stuff in shop or dlc this might have an impact. Can't prove ofc but your point about there being no killers because of reasons, is just false.
I'm on PS4. At least on "my" platform the lack of killers is super clear, especially high rank killers.
Instant killer lobbies, survivors have to wait some time, rank doesn't matter. Also green and purple rank killers are getting matched with high rank survivors all the time.
-
This is PS4, right? In general, there is a lack of people playing killer, and there especially is a lack of people playing killer at the higher ranks. That's why green rank killers end up playing against purple and red rank survivors all the time.
It also means instant lobbies for killers and not-so-nice queue times for survivors.
The devs really, really need to take action here. They can't solve this problem by changes in the matchmaking, they have to make changes in the game so that more people want to play killer.
-
@Fibijean With Devotion 1, lvl 50 the OP most definitely doesn't have quite a few thousand hours in the game.
-
You know: Use perk slots to counter bad map design and "apply pressure" (though I can't tell you how to apply pressure if you have to abandon chases because of bad map design).
-
Why people are toxic in video games? Because they have a sad real life + low self esteem and that's their only chance to make themselves feel good. 🤷
Report, ignore & move on.
-
Complaining about campers and BBQ at the same time. So what's the killer supposed to do?
a) patrol/stay close to the hook
b) leave the hook and chase a new survivor
c) go to a corner and think about what he did wrong
-
Yamaoka is way too dark. Today, I had only to crouch in the grass and the killer wasn't able to find me anymore. And I wasn't even playing Claudette!
Would be nice to get some feedback from the devs if this is intented or if they are going to change it with the next update.
-
I got almost all of my killer challenges done within a couple of hours and now I'm totally stuck at the survivor ones. It's a combination of too long queue times and bad matches when I don't play with my SWF buddies.
Btw, I usually don't play at weekends later than 9 am EST because then the queue times get really bad on both sides. Before 9 am, it's just bad survivor queues, but instant ones for killer.
-
Consoles need optimization, then nobody would mention console-specific balance.
-
That's exactly why keys need to get changed. Survivors totally mess up and set themselves up for a non-winnable 3-gen-scenario - but hey, doesn't matter, because keys.
-
Pig. She also has the cutest stun sound.
Demo is cute, too. And Bubba walks cute.
-
No need to explain yourself. Just play in a way so that you have fun.
-
Do you play killer at red ranks too?
-
No killer in this game is terrifying but at least the stealth killers can give you some jumpscares. Would be cool if the next killer would be a stealthy one again.
-
Tunneling is fine. As you said, you are only doing your objective.
This is a PvP game, you are allowed to go for the opponent team's weakest link. You are not the survivors' fun provider.
Nobody expects survivors to play generously and gift the killer hooks or kills so that the killer has fun, so why expect so many people the killer to play generously? I don't get this mindset.
-
Keys should receive a major nerf, can't happen soon enough. I don't see the big problem with moris in the current state of the game.
(Survivor main btw, I feel like I have to mention that in this kind of discussions.)
-
I'm a survivor main, so I prefer the current BT. The old BT was not as powerful, so if I played more killer, I would prefer that one.
-
I've played a couple of hours today, saw the Oni only twice. Not a good ratio for a brand-new killer.
Wasn't really different with Demo. When I think back to Spirit & Legion, these were everywhere when they got released.
-
One thing I immediately notice: You complain about the camping killer. You don't complain about your teammates who farmed you twice in a minute.
-

Alright so, now that it’s ‘tomorrow’ - and I’ve made sure it’s a few hours after noon in my time to be certain it’s the 5th mostly everywhere else - how are the DC matchmaking penalties going?
DC penalties aren't live. (The devs said yesterday they would not start on the 5th.) However, it's probably going to happen soon.
-
I haven't experienced it myself but I heard it from other players, so yes, you are not alone.

I got these and I lost them. I am was very upset when I did loose them but only to to find out I’d never get them again is very upsetting. So no. It isn’t fair.
I believe the devs said they will be able to give event cosmetics back to those who lost them.
And I agree, it's not fair to not get special skins back that you lost because of bugs.
-
That's for the upcoming Doc changes, most likely in the mid-chapter patch. The new texts slipped in.

People have had plenty of time to adjust to the map and the kill rate on it is almost 70%. The highest of any map in the game. The map is also really small. I can travel to all the gens pretty quickly as killer and I don't think i've had a single killer game where all gens got done on this map.
The Game has also a very high kill rate and yet The Game is super survivor-friendly. The statistics don't reflect the gameplay potential of a map.
And gen distance is a fact.
-
Hawkins is not a killer-friendly map. The gens are too far away from each other to patrol and the loops aren't all bad.
Over the course of time, survivors will get better on this map and you'll have a harder time as killer.

idc. bug abuse is bug abuse.
You don't care wasting the community managers' time?
Also, a big part of killer players won't know about this bug and/or they have to do their Tome challenge.
-
@FriendlyGuy said:
I just hook nobody in the basement. Some other killers do it tp gain an unfair advantage, report and move on.
No need to report, nobody is getting banned for this. You'll just waste the community managers' time which they could have spend on other cases.

The sensitivity is bad even when you put it on max?
I don't know how it is on Xbox, but on PS4 the sensitivity is indeed still bad when you put in on max.
-
What do you mean by "movement skill"?
-
@Vetrathene said:
Yep, they couldn't just nerf the addons, they had to nerf legion and buff BT, one of the strongest survivor meta perks there is. Now it has no counterplay at all!
Really. The logical thing to do was make the add-ons non-stackable. Instead, Legion gets an overall nerf.
-
True, half the community will be playing on red ranks within 2 seasons. At least life for killers at red ranks will be easier, so maybe we'll get more of those. Atm, the game is clearly lacking red rank killers.
-
With the upcoming change to the rank reset, half the community of survivor players will end up on red ranks within 2 seasons anyway.
-
It's honestly a buff to BT. I've never seen anybody repair a gen while being in Deep Wound.
I'm not going to pretend it's anything else than what it is.
-
How could anyone get punished? You don't know whether the player is aware of this bug, and at the same time there are challenges that require players to hook people in the basement.
The only thing the devs can do is release a hotfix asap.
-
From what I've read on the forums in the last year, I thought the majority of players was strictly against lobby dodging and that this was only something people would do "because they want easy games". How times are changing.
-
I'm a survivor main, too and I would love to have another objective besides sitting on gens. I also play killer but when I really need a change, I play a different video game. Happens more often now than one year ago.
