The killer isnt easy and isnt set up based (Trapper and Hag)
So majority of the killers I somewhat enjoy.

This is about what I've found to be the case with players playing each of these
I agree with all of this except Bubba, who I'd put in will try hard but still respect you tier and Pig who gets her own tier at the very top.

I actually dont belive that. I am a solo survivor , but i used to play killer about 30% of the time. With the mori changed, i got back to solo survivor only, and only recently play the odd game as killer.
But in a lot of discussions i "side with the killers" because of my experiences. Because i see the disadvantages killers have and the advantages survivors (especially swf) have.
The problem is that balance can´t be achived as long as you try to balance around solo and swf survivors at the same time. That does not work out, but devs and swf players don´t even like discussions about it.
Siding with the killers in most cases is fine, because there are many things to side with them over if you're unbiased.
The problem I have are the people who have the mindset of "Killer good survivor bad" or "Every surv is a Genrusher so Spirirt is balanced". Some survivors do the exact same back, but a lot less. Hence why although I support remaining unbiased and agreeing with the opposite side, I dont support pure bias.
-
As a Clown and Demo main, I couldnt agree more.
-
Bubba is B+ Tier, Oni > Billy unless you're facing very good survivors.
Huntress is A tier and probably right beside Slinger (can be put either side of him) as range can be lethal on most loops.
Pig is D tier, against semi good survivors she has no chase power unless you're an extremely advanced Pig, in which it changes to very little chase power
Myers is D tier, focuses too much on his early game and good survivors will have the game practically over by the time he gets a play with his P3.
Ghostface is B- simply due to his ability to get the first hit+ hide the red stain.
Legion just behind Plague due to slowdown in B- tier.
C tier is now renamed "Clown is god".
Obviously everyone's opinions differ and many of mine may be unpopular.
-
Ik you said you cant be in between, but I'm seriously in between. It depends on how the survivors play. If the survivors just do the gens the killers got a 1k, while even one survivor tries to get the save, it could be detrimental to the teams performance (which is one of the many reasons why kindred is a good survivor perk).
Regardless, its unfun for both sides, however there are very few ways to adress it. Also I should specify I'm a 50/50 player.
-
Could be either with the way the entity can twist people, but more likely than not I'd be a survivor.
-
No map pressure and a power that is completely countered by holding w or by a loop that has more than one window.
-
50/50 player here who actually loves running sabo build in solos (Sabo, Break Out, Empathy, MoM)
This is an extremely bad mechanic. Killers have many reasons to down survivors, like in situations like this where it was smart to drop them to go after you or that there just arent any near by hooks even if one wasnt sabotaged.
The killer shouldnt lose momentum just because he made the right play.
-
If the killer has no mobility based or ranged power (Bubba, Doctor etc) the map is an amazing map for survivors as all they have to do is run in a straight line down the corridors. And when the killer eventually catches up, they can run into a room and drop a pallet.
Even then, most tiles are safe, but boring. Personally just rework the map entirely.
-
I want to hear the people who voted no and what they have to say about it.
-
Glad to see another one ^^
-
Because it would only waste a lot of time for that survivor. That's 1/3 of the timer already gone, and while that means little to nothing if the exit gates are on the opposite ends of the map, if they're extremely close by then every second counts.
If you want a consistent perk for exit gates in 1 v 1 situations, just go with whispers. They'll have no chance of escaping unless you screw up.
-
Jeff > Any other survivor no matter who comes out.
-
I think this is something you'd have to report with Steam and not with DBD support.

I always find it funny how it's always the same people who use and defend the existance of the hatch the ones that cry about NOED being unfair. Like... you don't even let the killer play when the gates are powered, you just either leave as a team with a key or let your teammates die to leave alone through the hatch.
Why a perk that requires all gens to be completed causes such an outroar when survivors love bringing a key or finding one in a match and then just leave before finishing the objectives.

The ones that cry about noed are the same survivors that use DH,DS, BT and unbreakable every game.
So everyone that defended Freddy and wanted a DS nerf (or for DH to get nerfed) is a M&D Stridor Spirit who sweats for the 4ks? Or are we gonna stop showing bias?
-
Noed is balanced if there is a swf group. Otherwise, survivors shouldn't be forced even more to use certain perks or items in solo queue. Kindred, WoO and DS are already becoming a requirement for me, I'd rather not a fourth perk be required.
Despite this, I agree with point 4 and 5, but point 1-3 is unrealistic for solos.

Which is exactly why I love it, Set It Off has some great songs but this sounds like them but slightly better.

Although I never really used Add ons, the perks I use are.
BBQ and Chili
Discordance (Helps greatly as although you can't see the gen turn yellow as Victor you'll get the notification)
PGTW
Bamboozle

One I'm sure most people will hate, but a personal favourite of mine due to how easy it can be to relate to, Sarcasm by Get Scared.
-
I was fine with her up until I played as Yun Jin for her adept.
Ngl I felt like I was gonna throw up myself with the noises. Glad I main Jeff and they sound fine with him.
She might feel worse to play but I can't comment on that bit.
-
No. You get plenty of opportunities, the window isnt that strict and even if you ######### it up at first you just have to wait till they start getting unblinded before immediately blinding them again bc they'll be at 99.
Additionally, it's supposed to be hard. It's not supposed to be easy to deny the killer of a hook.
-
My best guess is that killers like these could cause extreme bad memories for some people.

I'd wager most people play on Steam, but that's beside the point. I don't think the Microsoft Store allows the devs to have a PTB as easily as Steam does.
Microsoft does have the Xbox Insider app (I think) which allows beta testing of games and apps. A ptb could fall under this, although I’m unsure if there are other conditions.

That's not an excuse and he's averaging 3 kills because there's no barrier between skill levels,, pig has the second highest I suppose shes too easy as well then?
Pig has the fourth highest when we take that to red ranks, and although 2% doesn't sound like a lot, she has about a 2% smaller pick rate than Freddy, who is both the heighest for kills and has one of the heighest pick rates among the rest of the cast. That's why Nurse is the lowest on the red rank rates. Has a high pick rate but not all of her 6% is good with her, while majority of Freddys 5.7% is good with him which isn't that hard. It's also why Doc and Bubba take second and third with also high kill rates. They're killers that aren't too hard to play that can win often.
Unlike Pig, a lot of the community voices their complaints about Freddy, usually poor survivors complain about Pig but most survivors and even 50/50 players and some killer mains realised he was too strong for how little effort you had to put in to him. If stats were only taken, Pig, Bubba and Doc would have been nerfed but the fact that he's one of the most complained about killers (Only behind Spirit) means that people do truly dislike him.
Finally, according to the devs saying he is averaging 3 kills a game, that means been doing so for the past 6 months and the explicitly say at the start of it "For some time now" which shows that they're not looking back only 6 months ago, they're looking at the fact that even with new additions and changes that his kill rate hasn't fluctuated at the top. While many other killers kill rates may have changed (Which makes so much of your argument invalid with Pig) the devs have their own up to date stats which tell them he's still averaging 3ks.
-
@immortalls96 said:
No because their reasoning for it is based on data more flawed than an uncut diamond
Although usually I don't agree with stats being the sole reason, if he's averaging three kills a game in red ranks it tells you either he's really strong or really unfun to face and survivors are suiciding on hook. In either of the cases, he needed a nerf due to how easy he was to play.

It really does not matter if I play survivour or killer I just get the same ######### every game.
Iv constantly ran the same build on my huntress for ages and usually 4k with it but recently been struggling to 1k because of all the second chance perks survivours have at there disposal and abuse the fact they have them and then rub it in your face.
When I play survivour I don't run all the meta perks as it's ain't fun I like to experiment but the games Iv been getting recently on both sides have been sweater than usual.
people just need to take a chill pill and pay less attention to rank and more to skill and relize its a ######### game
Unfortunately, it's in our brain to enjoy winning. Even if there is no reward to it like in this game, most people love the feeling of it.
Before the Trickster patch I wouldve agreed with you that not everyone had to run meta perks, however since the DS nerf a lot of survivors have reason to now as tunneling is a lot more common. Not every killer does, but when most do survivors aren't going to take the chance of playing casually in case it is, which is unfortunate because they don't change that attitude when they realise you're fine or you end up having to tunnel due to such.
Hopefully they realise it's just a game soon, although I don't see it happening unfortunately.

Cannibal, Hillbilly, or Shape(he is harder), these one hit down killer also has the same problem for Chaser emblem, when they kill survivors fast, the ranking may be +0.
I can easily pip most games as Cannibal while joking around, let alone playing properly. Just because he has one hit downs doesn't mean its hard to get a pip with him.
Besides ranking doesn't matter too much in current dbd.
Also, regarding the post, do you have any proof of your server having "the most" genrushing, camping and tunneling or are these just claims your came up with on the spot.
-
I'll start of by saying that there are killers that do the exact same thing that has led me to quit recently as I struggle to handle the toxicity. The toxicity comes from both sides and is frequent (alot of survivors tbagging, alot of killers slugging for 4 minutes and head shaking me).
You're either getting really good survivors or you're not up to your best, as unless they changed something since I quit two days ago, I could use meme builds as killer and win most of the time as long as they weren't stupidly weak.
You really don't need to run meta killers and meta perks to win. It makes it easier, but I play Clown, Demo, Twins, Wraith and even Trickster and I can win most of my games.

Do you have any precise idea of how strong a team of 4 high level survivors is against him?
Doesn't matter about strong survivors. The game isn't only balanced around 4 strong survivors, look at the ruin rework for example. They explicitly said they did it bc of newer players.
Besides, you rarely face high level survivors. I play Clown and I win almost all ot my games and even those that I lose aren't usually high level survivors.
If the game was completely balanced around high level survivors then I don't think the game would be in a great spot.

So why do you want Freddy nerfed precisely?
He's one of the easiest killers in the game to play while also being one of the strongest. He's rewarded everything passively while also having no consequences to spamming his power mid chase. Add on wise, he had the potential to slow the game down say too much when paired with certain perks and even then his base kit does a pretty good job at it.
Simply put, he could do everything. He wasn't the best at anything, but he was one of the best at everything which just made him too strong no matter how you cut it.
-
Yes, but I think black box needs a different change, and either increase his speed to 105 when placing snares or give him in a extra snare or two.

Yes, "problematic this problematic that". Imagine unironically saying the killer is being "punished" because of a trash 40 seconds cooldown perk that makes them dash forward and they can still get hit at the beginning of the animation and after it ends since killer's lunge attack has a long range.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100233#Comment_2100233
You can drop the chase if that Dead Hard made it impossible for you to kill that survivor. How did you even get into a situation in which a dead hard makes you waste lot of time? People use it to get to window faster or be able to drop a pallet.
Dead hard is just trash. It's exhausted on the ground. It can be completly ruined by a bit of lag or weird hitboxes. And you're only able to use it while wounded which makes it completly useless against killers like Leatherface, Myers, Ghostface, etc. The design of the perk is fine, nobody is being punished because of a buggy dash foward.
You're delusional if you think Dead Hard is trash. It's by far the strongest exhaustion perk in the game unless something has changed in the last day.

You know you can bait them into wasting it or just miss the hit and then hit them again?

Normal Blight takes a lot of skill (probably the second or third hardest killer in the game imo) and is one of the strongest too. He has obvious counters that survivors can use as long as no unintended mechanics are being used and is overall a balanced killer.

Ds stun the killer like 5 sec.
Even if we only count 4sec for survivors to run.
It is still 100*4=400% distance.
And even if we don't count about pallets and windows.
The survivors only run in a line without looping.
The killer still need 400/(115-100) =more than 26 secs to catch up.
In other words once the ds is active you are nearly safety.
The killer can still tunnel you, and the killers that are used more often can reduce that distance if you were to run in a straight line or just easily win the chase if they're somewhat competent (Again, Nurse and Spirit).
-
You get unhooked. Killer tunnels you, you stun them with DS, they proceed to tunnel you (If they're Nurse or Spirit congrats that's about 10 seconds before you're down again).
You get unhooked. Killer tunnels you again. You have no DS this time, you die.

As someone who's played with Nova, I can confirm he isn't toxic, and that he is a legitimate bad-luck magnet. He'll get tunneled at, like, 4 gens left for absolutely no reason and it's really heartbreaking to watch.
I wouldn't use the word heartbreaking per se, probably more hilarious to anyone watching/playing other than myself.

The DS nerf is working just fine. If you’re tunneled you get hit with it. If you’re working on gens or whatever then you’re not tunneled. Ive still gotten hit with DS as a Killer. So it’s working as intended.
Its stunning killers often, problem is that doesn't deter them at all.

just put a totem counter on small game or in the UI and there will be no reason why you shouldn't cleanse all 5 totems.
I'd love if this was the case, but I doubt itll ever be implemented.
-
Voted yes for two reasons. Solo survs have no way to know how many totems their team has cleansed and it often rewards bad killers.
-
Finally deleted the game today, both sides just seem too toxic for me to be able to play without (especially since the DS nerf) ######### up the rest of my day so I'm taking a break.

Favourite surv perk: Autodidact

If your main complaint is getting tunneled then why not run the anti tunnel perk? That’s literally why it exists. If you are the first one tunneled in the majority of your games then you must be making many bad plays or being toxic to the killer as I play way, way more than the average person without even running DS and this very rarely happens to me. I wonder if you make be considering situations tunneling that aren’t truly tunneling. I would say that 90% of the time one of my teammates calls the killer a tunneled he wasn’t truly tunneling or my teams actions forced it on him.
I do run it though. The problem is it doesn't deter the killer anymore because most survivors don't use it. I don't play toxic at all. I just play my normal game with Jeff, usually using a meme build of sorts, and I can usually extend chases for a while (although tunneling aggravates me and tends to cause me to just screw up the second and third time). I'm glad you're not occurring this, but it's just adding to the reason why I prefer killer.

Every killer is tunneling? so they supposed to just not chase you then? as the killer? what? lol
They don't have to completely focus me/my teammate even when someone is trying to take a bodyblock. I'm not talking about tunneling where I work on a gen for 20 seconds only for them to chase me, I'm talking the killer literally focusing on me regardless of the scenario.
Doesn't happen every game, but it does the majority of games.
-
@Blueberry said:
I run solo queue just fine without any problems. Also if the killer truly is eating through DS stuns to continue tunneling and still wins the game then tunneling isn’t the real issue, y’all were playing very badly.
Most games my team don't run DS, killer gets easy tunnel and wins. I unfortunately can't control what my team use at all. Idk if my team win the games I'm tunneled first but in majority of the games where someone else is tunneled first we lose.
