I won't DC because of a Map but I can understand why some do...being colorblind or some maps being harsh on the eyes in general. For myself, the Swamp as any Killer other than Hag( constant teleporting behind people lessens my issue) is REALLY bad on my eyes because everything blends and blurs together...with Survivors often wearing dark clothing,,I tend to have to strain my eyes a little to keep track of where they run/move to.
Also, unless it is debunked, people have stated DCing bugs...I still detest DCing intentionally though..

Does Bruce actually voice his own character? I know he was in the trailer but part of me is actually surprised if he actually did his own voice.
Yep, he talks when you select him in-game as well..though the menu music drowns it out

Well.....wish I had gotten DS from the Shrine when I had the chance...that is a ridiculous buff... 3 seconds with no Enduring affecting it is much better. Sometimes you NEED to secure a kill, or the person who was just unhooked is the only Survivor you find when going back to the Hook or scouting for the rescuer...and guess what at LEAST 6-7/10 times I'll find the person who was just unhooked.
Because anyone running Meta Perk loadouts more often than not run Unbreakable too. Which means even If you slug them to counter the DS they'll just get back up (esp with the flat increase to recovering from it). 5 seconds is a long time to restart a chase or to find someone. Running Enduring is going to be a pain...its a dumb and boring Perk imo -_- so,feeling forced to run it is not my idea of fun

I hope he says "Groovy"on searching chests OR when he gets heaked xD

Yep! I got the Item of Obsession Trophy in a game VS the Spirit who ended up killing the other 3 Survivors...while using Rancor and ofc, I was the Obsession and Urban Immersion'ing around to find the Hatch. I hear her Heartbeat as I'm crouched and nestled against a Hook next to a Rock/pallet area. I stand perfectly still as she circles around the nearby area....with the Hatch a few feet away...soon as her back was turned I ran and got out ...POOF Trophy. Not once did she ever find or chase me...and I was Nea with Pink hair xD
It was one of the most tense moments of the game for me...Spirit looking to Rancor Mori you as you narrowly slip past them and thru the Hatch is intense

If it was SWF then 1 d/c = everyone else d/c. People want to play together not spectate.
My guess is that it was a SWF, I got one person Hooked before my Corrupt Intervention ended and because I was Plague their two Insta-Heal Medkits were useless and POOF ended it then. Which still is just so dumb, that's the risk every player has with bringing certain Perks, items/add-ons...they may be less effective or countered

As @Kikki said: There's a bug that dc's people usually running or doing an interaction such as working on a gen. One killers side they dc'd on their side the killer dc'd and it usually shows all 4 survivors got booted as if the killer dc'd.
For some reason BPS usually crash the person using them or it's just a coincidence and it seems to be similar to the loading freeze (Highly speculative.)
If it is a bug then it is the weirdest one I have EVER seen (no streamers were used). Because I still depipped, lost my items and ofc offerings burnt, while also earning that 9.5k Bloodpoint. If it showed both of us that each other DC'd then that's even more bizarre. More so considering ALL 4 DC'd...Ive heard people say they themselves get booted or a couple, but the whole team? Yeesh
Regardless of what happened,,until the game is actually stable, we really need a safety net for DCs and DC bugs
-
Run Borrowed Time and We'll Make It... if you intend to do Unhooking...like surprise, you won't acrew over teammates as much...I swear people live too much by the "Meta" and think they can bumrush a person Hooked. The amount of times I prevented a tunnel or quick re-hook because of those Perks is insane....

It's kind of redundant at this point. 57 killer perks x 3 tiers each (level 1, 2 and 3) x an average of ~50k BPs per blood web multiplied by 15 killers. Do the math:
(57 x 3 x 50,000)(15) = (8,550,000)(15) = 128,250,000 blood points to get all perks for all killers. For every killer they add to the game, add an additional 8,550,000 bloodpoints. This is just with the assumption you don't prestige at all.
I mean this is just INSANE. For a new player coming in the game, can you imagine them trying to get up to date just to get P0 with all perks on every killer? Now, I agree with a grind. It makes people feel like are doing something, but it's not very engaging with the current system. This is the type of system that encourages massive burn-out and makes people play other games. I reeeeaaaaalllllly wish they'd implement a different system especially with the influx of new killers.
Agreed, I often take huge breaks because ot gets to be a bit much...especially with people disconnecting so often that deprives players of Bloodpoints...kills off the mood.
You'd think Double Bloodpoint events would be MORE frequently....but it's been months now
-
Yep...despite some qualms with the state of the game, I still love it. Bruce Campbell is a National Treasure! Loved the Evil Dead movies, Ash VS Evil Dead and also his work on Xena Warrior Princess. He's a pretty cool guy and getting more Ash Williams in my life is always a good thing.
-
Ehhh, I Prefer Play With Your Food or even Dying Light...Save the Best For Last...Id rather get some movement speed increase or really slow down other Survivor's action speeds if I eliminate my Obsession....rather than decreased cooldown on attack swings

She's been bad for me, as well. I have her at 41 right now and still have yet to gather a decent build pertaining to her. Not 1 single level of BBQ & C, not a single Hex: Ruin, not any decent location perks whatsoever. She's gonna' be another one of those "30 levels deep past hitting 50" killers. Feels like my Legion experience all over again. Guess I'll not be looking to prestige her afterwards! Meanwhile, I had several decent viable builds ready through Bubba and Freddy before they even hit 40... because, of course.
My Spirit, Doctor and Pig have been my only ones to really luck out. Not counting my early Killers I leveled (Leatherface and Hag) because the pool of Perks was less bloated.
But Plague has just been disappointing. Getting Monitor & Abuse and finally Ruin has been my only solace. Was wanting more ranks for Corrupt Intervention to try out the Perk a bit. I did get Infectious Fright up to Rank 3 but I,honestly have no idea how good that perk since I've been waiting to level her up before playing...but I haven't seen Killers run it so far.

@RoKrueger You're really sweet. <3 Thank you. >//<
@Nikkiwhat I was thinking it may have been better if they use positive reinforcement (getting something in return for leaving the hook) rather than negative reinforcement (taking something away) to encourage longer games and more fun for survivors and killers alike. I've had multiple games where it was a three man or less and the killer would still go hard or just try to get it over with. Felt like there was less of that before the emblem changes and I honestly think the difficulty could be reduced for the emblems.
I'd also like something to dissuade those tactics, but sadly I feel even if positive reinforcement would be given to leave, some would just want to still try to ruin some players enjoyment/involvement.
I have good and bad days when it comes to what kind of matches I get, it just sucks that when it's bad it's one of the worst experiences because I just want to play...do gens, get a decent/fun chase and rescue people as much as I can...but getting camped all game is an abysmal experience.
But at least players like yourself add to the positives of the game's community.
As a Killer I'll always give some leniency to a Disconnect situation unless the game has already progressed a fair bit...but early and multiple ones def sets me to be nicer as a Killer

Surveillance is the only one I got that madr me happy so far xP. Wanting Monitor & Absue as well, seeing how I JUST unlocked it..here's hoping it pops up soon enough for us both

Sloppy isnt bad when it's tier 3... Surveillance is good at least. And Franklins. That's not horrid against the right lobbies.
Sloppy on Plague is mostly a waste since in my experiences, people use her full healing Fountains a lot...and on the flipside plenty of people don't bother to heal and crank out Gens, as well as use Adrenaline which renders the Perk a wasted slot. On other Killers, Sloppy is fantastic
-
Noticed an increase to Killers face camping on whomever they hook first....and won't chase after or look for others.
I've also seen a handful of douchebag Survivors sandbagging, body blocming, teabagging and farming the other Survivors....
Needless to say, this crappy community is starting to get worse. There's plenty of good and solid Survivor and Killer players...had a Legion give me the Hatch after I used Borrowed Time to rescue a Survivor when the Exit Gates were up & open. Dunno why they let me go, but I sacrificed myself rather than dip out of the match or farmed the Hooked Survivor (seriously people run BT if you're gonna bumrush hooked people FFS)....but generally I find more players that are rude/toxic than good sports.

@Nikkiwhat so basically reinforcing the dc epidemic killers cry about. I mean now we are def depipping so I get why some folks dc when a killer refuses to play and face camps.
The worst is those that face camp and hit repeatedly on the hook π
That's funny you mention that. I literally had a Wraith face camp and smack me multiple times, including after chasing off a rescuer they'd run by and smack me again.
I still consider myself a Killer main, though I play Survivor a lot and....for this to becoming more rampant and standard practice for Killers is just asinine. And before people leap for joy to go "Well it is a strategy and the game allows them to do thiiiiis" it kills off the game's ability to be fun and slowly...will leak players playing if they wait to get into a game and then be face camped within the first few minutes, get jack ######### for Bloodpoints and what....queue up for a high chance to do it again?
If I play 10 games...Id be hard pressed to get 5 or more games without such lame plays...and yes...it is lame to face camp and tunnel one person to death...it doesn't matter if 2-3 other Survivors get out because of it...being unable to do much and be penalized out of our control,,in addition to thr DCing (which I do not support, I'll tough it out for some points & try to waste the Killer's time too ) it just puts a bigger hole into a boat that risks sinking...slowly...but surely
-
Face/ close proximity camping has drastically increased in my games as Survivor. I onxe had it happen 3 games in a row. And then I get unhooked with them within lunging range and they just whack me down because NOBODY seems to want to run Borrowed Time anymore π and Killers rehook and return to their camping spot. No matter if I looped them really well, decently or when I potato run...no teabagging or flashlight clicking....they jua camp and don't care.
Either it purely to ruin a Survivor's game, to depip people or for themselves to depip/safety pip...its getting as bad as the DCing fiascos going on

I hate to say it, but its NOT a team game. If them getting you killed helps them escape, while scummy, is completely legit.
######### that noise...10-30min queue time to get sandbagged the whole match and get killed off 4mins in
-
Survivor is frustrating because teammates are ######### Sandbagging pieces of ######### that get away with it on top of bad killers face camping

After the match I had.....we need a Personal Blacklist... Intentionally Sandbagging Survivors should get consequences...but they don't...let us at least have the ease of avoiding those ######### ever again

Practice! Practice! Practice!
Seriously, it's a "well no duh" thing to say but it's good to refresh that we all started new here. I myself have come a long way from playing Survivor. My fav person to watch honestly has been Puppers and Monto on loop and juke ideas/teaching.
Learn the safe spots on maps by watching and playing and get a general idea of what you can do with an actual loop. This takes time and a lot of practice.
Keep track of what the Killer is doing as much as you can. Try to spot or predict is they're trying to fake you out on jungle gyms/walls/pallets and try to fool them. Learn the playstyle/pattern of the Killer player you're against. While looping and chases have a layout strategy what ISN'T stated is the variable of what type of player your Killer is. No two are alike.
Don't over loop an area. Know when it's best to move from one safe spot to another. Never use two Pallets on the same general area (leave one and try to skip to the next to save a pallet if you can)
Try to keep track of what Perks they may be using. Learn when a Killer is using Bamboozle and Spirit Fury.
Finally get Perks to help in chases. While not technically "required" Exhaustion Perks like Balanced Landing, Lithe and Dead Hard can really turn the tide and give you the breathing room you need (I'm not a fan of Sprint Burst and feel it's kinda overrated). Stuff like Quick & Quiet and Dance With Me, can also surprise Killers and give em the slip. While Windows of Opportunity is a great teaching tool for knowing where to actually run to.
Lastly, never get upset if your chases end quickly or if you mess up/get downed. It happens to EVERYONE, even the "Stars/Pros". Jus absorb the experience of each match and try to learn from it & apply it to future games.
-
NOED in my experience is so damn infrequent that I don't care if it ends up wrecking my Survivor team xD (it's seriously been like a month or two since NOED affected my Survivor games). I usually cleanse 2-4 Totems anyway, depending on map, killer and if I'm the one being chased or not.
Typically you can kinda spot when a Killer is using NOED based on their playstyle and if they're doing poorly on Gen protection (some Killers are bold to tunnel/camp 1-2 and ignore Gens for NOED to clean up the last 2). However some Killers use NOED as a last resort and play decently to even greatly and have it as a contingency plan.
Regardless, I don't care if it's been said till kingdom come, but cleanse totems...be observant of how the match is going and if,you're somehow running into so many NOEDs...then every match expect a NOED like Killers tend to suspect people have Dead Hard and play around it's potential usage.
Edit: Y'all are hilarious. Sorry but instead of adapting and taking charge in a match where you knowingly hate a Perk and know it's counter and refuse to accept taking the time to counter it (or do but still bemoan)...you want to complain about it. Give me a break. The Perk was already changed long ago.
-
None this time. I already have Surveillance and Streetwise unlocked amd will naturally unlock the other two at some point. Usually Id get my juicy extra Bloodpoints but gonna stock up on Shards for once. Mostly so I can get aome Survivor Perks I want without wanting to level up the character (for now) so I can get new stuff for my Nea main AND have said Perks ready for the couple Survivors I actually wanna play, while also using my Bloodpoints for the last few Killers needing their Teachable Perks unlocked.
As far as what I would go for: Surveillance>Save the Best For Last
If you MUST pick a Survivor Perk:
Tenacity>Streetwise. Unless you always SWF with items but personally I feel Tenacity would serve you better
-
Recently went to play as Hag. Only 3 load in I go to play and intend to go easy on em. Immediately a person DCs,,I switch to farm mode and first person I see I down em and take em to a Gen. They wiggle off and work the Gen...Ruin is active and they potato. So I down em and intend to take em to the Totem...they DC after I pick em up.
The last Survivor cleanses Ruin after and I find em and try one last time to get SOME kind of points...they fully understand and start working the Gens. Now comes the wholesome part.
Since I cant get Hook points the Survivor starts using the "come here" emote and Beckons me to all the Pallets on the map. She knew exactly where all were and it was so endearing her lil "come this way Miss Killer" after each Pallet I broke. Made me chuckle
-
Lots of breaks with other games, music or even Survivor games. Usually I do anywhere from 2-8 Killer games when I sit down for a session.
It takes a lot to do...but go in with the mindset of getting Bloodpoints and start with the mindset of wanting a 2k but aiming for as best as ya can...some games you just won't "win" and take what ya can from it and think no more of that match
-
They really should compensate us Players...this back and forth so quickly is a bit annoying. The new system screwed my GF and I's time playing...they reverted it...games were fantastic on ping, queue time and the actual matchmaking everyone's Rank....and here they go messing with it again :/
I understand changes and testing are needed...but ffs not even a moment to lrt my enjoyment sink in and I'm getting iffy matches...again
-
They've done a new Match making system...they reverted it the other day and today they've made changes again FYI...

If the killer wants you to die; no matter what you will die.
And getting almost no Bloodpoints because a Killer decided to tunnel/camp and not let you go is the single most scummy thing a person can do in this game, but sure just state this one thing. Glad you could join the conversation π
We are literally talking about being unable to earn many Bloodpoints because of a set of players want to eliminate someone asap. For some, matches take awhile to get or people can only play so many matches because of life. To potentially get screwed out of several games, some possibly in a row can and will shut some players out of wanting to come back
The whole "if a Killer wants to" is literally pointless for you to state o so matter of factly here.

I do agree. Part of this is solved with the LOS checks from survivor spawn points. The rest is down to move specific totem spawn points which will unfortunately take time.
I def understand that, which is why I'm not personally raising Hell about em! ^3^
I just like good discussions and wanted to add my voice and experience to this topic, eso since I am an avid Hex Perk user xD Heck, my main Spirit build (until I ever finish unlocking all teachable Perks) is using 3 Hex Perks...and they're almost always fun games!

I would disagree there. Fast games are due to coordinated survivors, and coordinated survivors can either hit skill checks or memorize totem spawn points. Worst case scenario one person searches for it while the rest split up on different generators. The benefit you gain from it against a good team is marginal. It affect newer players more than experienced players, and you would hopefully be doing well against new players even without it.
If you count solely on ruin to make your games last longer, you're putting all your eggs in one basket, and that basket isn't really going to help anyway. I've started to run PGTW instead and it's been working way better. It doesn't get disabled part way through the game and you can use it strategically.
Even if you just power through a generator with ruin, and you get an average of 6 skill checks (about average, 8% each second, 80 seconds, adds up to 640% chance in total), and if you only hit goods, you would only add 42 seconds.
Pop Goes The Weasel will knock a good 20 seconds worth of progress off a generator each time you use it. You can use it to quickly regress a generator that's almost complete or to protect a specific set of generators. It can't get destroyed, and depending on how well you do, you can use it a bunch of times over the course of one game. The skill level of the survivors you're going against also does not play a factor, they cannot hard counter PGTW.
Yes, ruin would give you more time, but it's got the risk of being destroyed, and it's not really going to stop people from being coordinated and rushing through generators anyway. There's other options out there that are safer and more reliable if you really count on it to slow down the game, but so long as you are running a hex perk, you running the risk of it being destroyed.
You do give a good explanation and not gonna discredit what you're saying. Ruin can not solely be depended on. You have to use other good Perks/add-ons and awareness to still apply pressure. Pop Goes the Weasel & Overcharge are great surprises and two Perks I love the design & concept of.
However...all this said, it still doesn't account for how Totem Spawns are still flawed and still need to be looked at. I've had numerous spawn right next to me as a Survivor loading into the match (the camera spins around before we start and *Zelda chest open sound effects* there's Ruin/Devour Hope/Lullaby 3 feet from my spawn point. That should NEVER be a thing imo, same with Hex totems being in plain sight of a Gen. Taking a few steps as a Killer to have a Perk rendered useless is not good game design and only Hex Perks suffer as much from such a randomization.
Sure, "don't use them/treat them as expendable" can be said but that doesn't address nor solve the issue that is apparent. Which sucks because the Hex Perks are some of the most fun ones imo...
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/388506#Comment_388506
Unfortunately Ruin isn't a risk we are choosing to make, it's one we are forced to if we want a game longer than 5 min. It's a Lose/Lose deal.
Played my Gen Doc build today: Ruin, Surveillance, Overcharge and Make Your Choice (MYC for fun and some potential snowball effect)
And my Ruin spawned across the mao, checked it, no Survivors cried out...went and found a person started chase...Ruin immediately cleasned mid chase and this happened real quick.
It's really a crapshoot on if it'll last long enough or get neutered asap and with how fast Gens can potentially get done, esp decently or very well coordinated groups (SWF or otherwise) Ruin is often a very much needed Perk to at least get one Hook before a match snowballs.
Getting into Perks overall...when running multiple Totem Perks I really wish we could tell which is which...I don't mind protecting multiple ones, but at some point Id like to know which is my Devour Hope/ Ruin :/

Survivor is supposed to be a team game, so idk why the game is so strict in what you do throughout the game. As killer when you chase someone, you're doing all of your BP categories at once. Survivor doesn't have that option really. So maybe they shouldn't cap the BP category's.
What rubs my biscuits the wrong way, is that if a Killer chooses to...they can completely screw over a Survivor's game...deny them points, fun and pips. Which can often be the first person they find, or often seen, if a Survivor loops and jukes a Killer really well. This is coming from someone who mostly plays Killer over Survivor...sure it's team based and sometimes you may never deal with the Killer and its 4 of you (ideally) and so the burden of objectives is generally shared amd the BPs spread out....but still really sucks if you get a bad game that's 100% out of your control.
-
Yeah, between the Emblem changes, I've played a TON of Survivor games (more than I usually do) and only a couple of Killer games and I get significantly more Pips and BPs than as Survivor..even if I do well and do things often....
So when you get a situation where you're tunneled and run the Killer around (which I have done in several games) I often only safety pip with mediocre chance for BPs. Because there's a damn good chance the Killer will camp you or immediately go back to you if/when unhooked (had a game where I ran a Killer for nearly 3 Gens, got downed and died on first Hook because NOBODY went for a save...so getting downed intentionally isn't a good option
-
It's about 20/80 on,it being in a good spot or right on top on Survivors, unless I'm running my Hexroulette Spirit Build then it's just a bunch of fun. But sadly as Killer and Survivor I mostly find the totems fairly well and quickly
-
If I'm the Killer and I see BPS being used, sadly if only one is used I don't trust it for an actual Farm invitation...been burned by that once and never again. I'll ATTEMPT to communicate it, but if everyone is just Gen Rushing, ya can forget me being a nice Killer :P. And Unless the person or people who use the BPS, actually play along...then I'll just play as normal.
I'm personally saving mine for Double Bloodpoint events for better Farm potential to max out Bloodpoints...if we ever get another one..seriously why are they stretched out so far apart!
-
Usually 3 items on a Survivor group that remotely seems like a SWF will make some Killers Dodge. Unless I have Franklin's Rank 2-3 on the Killer I want to play as, I'm not too keen on playing against a 3 Toolbox group. Since info is very much obscured there's less harm in getting a different lobby than DCing when getting into a Match. I rarely dodge but sometimes ping or suspicious groups trip my Instinct.
-
Stockpiling Bloodpoints as I just got my Doctor to level 41 for his Teachable Perks and will prob level Plague up next, esp after getting Monitor & Abuse unlocked
Never played her but she's always fun to play against. I kinda worry that she nay be add-on dependant to do consistently well, but that's because I've only seen her 0-2k and not be overly threatening (again just my experiences facing her)
