Nothing in the patch notes mentions that the spirit has been changed (there's one change that allows her to use her power while blind), so it wouldn't appear to be intentional. It could just be a bug. If anyone has a clip of the sound you're talking about, I will pass it on to the team.

    What I experienced while playing.

    https://youtu.be/QPD6Mk8PZPc

I heard multiple sounds activating and while phased as well as a loud sound when vaulting. Take it for what you will, but I do not recall Spirit being this loud so often

God I'm actually annoyed. I loved everything about Spirit and now I'm disgusted by that shadownerf.

Despite myself potentially sounding naive, I'll wait to see if BHVR says anything. Spirit has been my favorite Killer ever since I got her leveled up and got some Perks on her. If I'm a damn air raid siren when I use my power, she'll def be played way less than I usually do

  • Well that damn sound in addition to rhe chase music makes it so damn distracting and discombobulating when trying to get Survivors...doubly so if they run Iron Will, which was just on the shrine.

I sincerely hope this is a bug and gets fixed..because that would explain why Survivors scattered far more often than usual, not to mention me losing them because ######### me if I can hear footsteps or grass being dusturbed anymore while phasing.

When she starts phasing within terror radius she now omits a sound so survivors know she's phasing.

Is that the loud glass crackling sound I've been hearing in today's matches as Spirit?

This map is smaller than mother's dwelling XD

Maybe it is, but the layout and design are awful from what I played at...Mother's Dwelling fells far better and doesn't include a lower level and as many objects to hide behind like the Main tower and outlying rubble.

  • Things sound louder I feel :/ Even better when Survivors use Iron Will...may as well play blind deaf and dumb....

  • When people DC like that...at least our offerings and add-ons should be given back :/ so ######### dumb..what a waste

  • If it's something they're going to actually go through with... Would Ash even have a Killer to go,along with? Deadites are nothing really unique enough and I don't recall a major villain in thr TV show to,warrant a playable Killer

Yeah better to wait anyways because you get the addition rextured cosmetics when you buy the dlc.

LMAO it's up now on PS4 xD Well I have no words....I know its Sony and Microsoft in,charge of when stuff appears, but Oh I am laughing at that short delay xD

  • @TheRealDweard said:

The dlc is not available on the Steam (PC Store) either. They said that the actual dlc will come out later. However, you can buy the new characters in the in game shop.

Mmm, I saw people mention as such...what a bad way to get people to spend their Shards or Auric Cells. Oh well, I can wait...I have the patience of a Redwood

I’m trying to get a gf with a ps4 so I can do this.

Best of luck! Dbd is def imo, at it's best with someone or a couple people to be with and I don't mean for pro mlg people stereotype for,,but it's just a fun experience xD

My GF yelled at me because she kept blamming me for the Killer finding her when they chased me xD and I'm like "I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERR RIGHT THERE!" and then she proceeds to throw the pallet on,me and sandbag me, which the Killer injured me (IDK xD) and just makes more memorable gaming moments for DBD

  • 1. Hag when having bad teammates (running to unhook or running after being unhooked)

    2. Doctor on small maps

    3. Wraith, people on,PS4 really potato against him in my experience and a LOT of Wraith facecamp when they Hook someone, which is godawfully annoying.

    4. ???

    5.???

    Those are the only ones

DLC is not added yet to steam, i assume we have to wait before we can play fat jane

    Correction, Thicc Jane ;]

Also Head-on should really have been her butt bumping into the Killer to stun em.

  • I play both around 70/30 or 60/40 Killer/Survivor.

I almost only play Survivor when my GF can play with me, solo Survivor is only half as fun as having a friend or loved one to talk an goof off with.

  • I knew it was gonna have something to update when I saw on the in-game store no longer had the School Spirit advertisement art piece up anymore.

  • Yep it's up folks. Exit the game/make sure it's closed and check for the update

    IMG_20190319_111331.jpg

  • I was gonna make a thread asking overall, how many Survivors were gonna keep using (or just start using because of Shrine DS) despite the incoming change VS Survivors who are gonna stop using it.

  • Only Leatherface add-ons I legit like using is Knife Scratches and The Beast's Marks for zoom zooming Bubba Chainsaw'in

  • Survivor: We'll Make It. I absolutely love the design of getting someone off the Hook and healing them up so fast, especially once the Perk is activated, I can heal everyone with that 100% Speed bonus and trust me...it's come in clutch A LOT.

Killer: Hex: Devour Hope. I love that this Perk gives you 3 benefits the more tokens you get. Balanced by being a Hex Perk, it's ability to down Survivors fast and,of it stays long enough, gives you a delicious free Mori for everyone left alive! It also promotes going after multiple Survivors, since you need 5 Tokens which means 5 Hooks.

  • I like both but prefer Killer because there's far more variance in playing one Killer over another, more customization potential with Perks and add-ons.

Though playing Survivor to mis things up and not give a ######### and play with friends has it's benefits over Killer which can be a lil stressful depending on what type of player you play against and what map, you're on.

@Boss Ohhhh Devour Hope is sooo good. I had my Hex Roulette Spirit Build and got it to 5 stacks amd 2 delicious Mori Kills back to back...the last Survivor got to witness their teammate die amd then see me come towards em. Props for em,not DCing, I was fully expecting them to both DC once the Mori started xD

  • Why not both...and Overcharge...on,Doctor MUWHAHAHAHA 3 GEN STRAT 😱

  • I asked for this one on,a Dev stream about Legion and Mathieu said no and in very Mathieu way "what if Susie and Julie have the same voices, you'd never know with them wearing masks" more or less like that.

I totally feel Susie would be the cutsey, maniacal laughing Killer Gurl and much like Doctor and Clown, would laugh with certain actions.

Joey I felt would've sounded like the dude who was held back a couple years in School and older, more gruff/deeper voice...also way angrier than the others and sound more upset when stunned etc.

  • Coulrophobia, Distressing and Dark Devotion may be a fun lil meme build :P

  • Hag's claw arm...jus be betch slapping everyone

  • He's def a fav of mine, probably 3rd or 4th fav overall! The theme chase music and signature Butcher Knife and stalking mechanic is just perfect

  • Just make it so frequent DC's increase your "timeout" from getting into a game, hopefully to the point (alongside taxing you BP perhaps) that people stop DCing so much or stop playing...

Had a Meg DC because she was unhooked right as I Spirited away, doubled back because the Gen/area I quickly checked was vacant, went back and she was still hanging around the area of being unhooked (and no, I didn't see her rescuer on a quick scan) so I re-downed her...she DC's.

Sorry, but I don't let people off for free unless it's a situation of extremes: aka 2-3 people DC'ing off the bat before the game really starts, or it's a 2 man game. Deal with being caught because you didn't get healed or hid somewhere fast enough.

EDIT: LMFAO above me, putting the blame of Killers because WE play toxic. No, simple and plain the stereotype of Survivors, which OFTEN sticks, is that they can't stand getting downed, mindgamed and/or often think they're a pro player and getting downed/caught was OBVIOUSLY the Killer being:

    A. Cheap

    B. Toxic

    C. The cheated

    D. Played a "broken" Killer/Perk.

    /s.

No, in my experiences as Killer and Survivor, every DC I have witnessed was due to the fact that players can't handle "losing" and seek a miserable victory to deny Killers extra points as some self-serving satisfaction akin to flipping the table in a board/card game.

  • I love fun lil stuff like this :3

    Vile Wire

    Twisted Claw

    Hallowed Bracelets

    Hemorrhaging Heart

  • I enjoy medium chases more than long ones as a Survivor. Odd enough, I enjoy being a Jill of All Trades. I like working on Gens, getting unhooks and healing and helping others.

  • Spirit, Hag, Pig and Michael Myers mostly.

Legion if I'm having a bad day and Doctor for trolling days

  • 2-3k and whether I had fun or not. Getting 4ks is always the goal but I more than content with a 3k

  • No, it's more an echo chamber for complaints to be "lul'd" at and BHVR to just let whatever bullshit continue to happen

  • They don't care...I've lost most of my faith and goodwill towards this game and the community...so much bullshit that's intentional and allowed. They continue to make 1 step forward and 2-3 ######### steps back...

  • Pig is very underrated and,can be underestimated. Her kit allows her an extra way to slow the game down and get Survivors off Gens. I don't use her crouch nearly as much as I should, but usually it's an occasional thing to use, rather than rely on it unless you're using a particular build with Amanda's Letter or to be cheeky with Reverse Bear Trapped Survivors.

I just recently got my Pig to level 42 for her Teachable Perks and in doing so, finally got some Perks for her to use. Before, I only had her at level 5 nearly Perkless and still managed to hold my own because of the Jigsaw Boxes & RBTS

She also has some of the best jumpscare potential creeping along and outta nowhere, popping out from a corner.

Currently using Ruin, Sloppy Butcher, Surveillance and Make Your Choice

  • Ruin

    Bamboozle

    Sloppy Butcher

    Are top picks imo

This is counterproductive, though. If genrushing is always more time efficient than healing no matter how you compare it, then genrushing into Adrenawin will always be preferred, Thanataphobia or not.

That is why the current meta on live revolves around genrush into Adrenawin, while Thenata is still completely useless.

The only way to make healing more attractive than generators is to make generators significantly worse, make exit gates significantly worse, or essentially remove adrenaline. The endgame is free, and once survivors hit it they escape 99% of the time. They know that, so the most efficient strategy will always be to hit the endgame as quickly as possible.

Players arn't just going to drop genrushing because healing is 40 seconds instead of 57 seconds. All reverting thana does is remove that extra 100 seconds of gen time for no reason.

Not even reverting.....they are nerfing Thana

  • @Bongbingbing said:

I don't understand the nerf either, how did they do a complete 180 and go from thinking a perk needed a buff to it needing a nerf.

It's a shame that anything that slows down the game is considered unfun, I was hoping the new Thana could do a better job and helping with gen rush than the 20 seconds ruin gets you. I guess sloppy is still the best option.

"But that buff to injuring 4 Survivors is good, no?"

    download.gif

  • They nerfed when 1 and 2 Survivors are injured , kept the 3 Survivors part and BARELY increased if all,4 are..its a nerf thru and thru because getting 4 Survivors injured and kept injured long enough for that "increase" to balance the nerfed parts, is not going to happen realistically

Just my take on it: It's not good for gameplay. With the PTB values and combined with sloppy butcher, it would take a survivor ~57 seconds to self care. That's almost an entire generator's worth of time.

"That's great, though," you might say. But what ends up happening is much like what you're seeing now. Because healing takes so long, you're much better off doing generators instead and waiting for adrenaline to heal everyone. To which you might say, "But the generators would be 24% slower." While true, that adds about 20 seconds per generator (solo).

    Added time to generators: 20 x 5 = 100

    Added time to healing: 57 x 4 = 228

Worth noting that you might and probably will get hit more than once, so you'd have to repeat that for each time you get hit. Take your pick, would you rather spend an extra 100 seconds on generators *and* get healed, or an extra 228+ on healing and then still have the generators to deal with?

On the surface it seems like a great idea, but it's further encouraging not healing and instead doing generators as fast as possible, which I think it's something we can all agree isn't fun.

It encourages team healing instead of relying on selfcare so much as you hide in a corner. Perks like We'll Make It, Botany Knowledge with a Medkit and Jane's upcoming Perk all have a nice focus on teamwork.

Ask yourself this...how many Thana users have you gone up against and felt threatened? How many encounters with Thana has been able to stall a game entirely out or the cause of a 3-4k? How many have you actually faced at all on live? It encourages a change of play and for what Perks as used...but this just makes the meta stale by dissuading both sides from changing how they can play with different aspects to what a Killer brings into a match.

With all that said WHY is it being nerfed instead of reverted.....seems asinine when it's not even that much of a threat as is....

Exactly, that's why I think this is an unnecessary "nerf". If people would give up on the chase perks and used healing perks (something I personally do) this wouldnt be a problem.

I run We'll Make It on my Survivor and usually get some good unhooks and can fully heal the entire team in no time...it's actually been a huge "F U" to Killers, even with Sloppy Butcher used....guess how many Thana users I've encounter the past few months? Maybe 3-4 at best and they were mostly Legion players..guess what else? We'll Make It neutered their Perk.

  • @tt_ivi_99 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/364962#Comment_364962

If that's the reason I will just give up my hope on this game. DS has been freaking broken since it's release, it's not nerfed now, it's balanced.

I frequent these forums and Reddit off & on and I have yet to see people being upset about Thantaphobia getting a slight buff...so I really can't see where not only did they revert the change but ALSO nerfed the Perk...which honestly, was seldom used.

I want diversity of Perks to be appealing and used..not nerfs to seldom seen/used ones which keep us using the same ones over and over because of their effect not having alternative choices.

  • @Tzeentchling9 said:

Where is this decision coming from actually? Where is the massive feedback against this? I don't recall much Survivor whining about it on this forum or the steam forums(except with Legion, but they are always complaining about Legion). They didn't do the PTB feedback survey either.

Is Reddit just on fire about a Thanataphobia buff?

I can only speculate, but this is a knee-jerk decision that I've ever seen...my guess...they don't want an uproar of supposed Killer favoritism by changing/nerfing one of the most widely used Survivor Perks AND buffing a Killer Perk

  • @Peasant said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/364934#Comment_364934

So they nerfed a perk that discouraged tunnelling?

You know what that means folks!

    IT'S TUNNEL TIME!

*cues Mighty Morphin Tunnel Rangers guitar riff theme*

    https://youtu.be/BwbHW8MeHDU

  • I feel they did this because of the DS changes..... "Can't change DS and buff a Killer perk" Thantophobia ia greatly designed Perk,,promoting the Killer to find and injure as many Survivors in as short of an amount of time as possible...which dissuades tunneling a Survivor over an over...but sure...nerf it *rolls eyes*

  • @MysticalMagic92 said:

Yes, these are Thanataphobia's values at tier 3.

    Now: 6/9/12/15

    PTB: 6/12/18/24

    New Patch(The new values): 4/8/12/16

Wow, so not only did they revert the ptb changes they ALSO nerfed it? 2 for 1 I guess...wow..that is garbage. I may as well not even bother using it for fun when I JUST got it (rank 2) for my Freddy as a fun build..usually 1-3 Survivors injured is the best you're gonna get, with the average probably being 1-2. :/ which means its not even worth getting...

  • I find that a really asinine decision to revert that change. I love the concept and design of it...but I was only using it on Freddy for a "Slow everything down" build...with the PTB changes I was going to experiment using it on other Killers...but now, what's the point?

  • Well, Thantaphobia will remain a Freddy only Perk for my Killer's loadout. Was hoping and wanting to get more use out of it on other Killers :/

  • He can be strong but only if Survivors make mistakes and respect him....some perk builds and add-ons can make him a pain to face...but the problem is that people will still work on Gens, break totems, heal, unhook etc without fewr of getting hit or grabbed. Freddy can be easily bullied from decent to good Survivors.

He isn't unplayable, but once you start getting matched against Survivors that can loop and not fear Freddy, he becomes less of an actual threat (Hmm seems ironically fitting as that's the gist of his movies)

  • I still love the idea of a Mannequin Killer that can place replicants/Dummy Husks that can creep on Survivors that have a TR when triggered/activated.

I guess being a third trap based Killer but with a mix of Spirit able to body swap on the fly and create chokeholds. Something where you can see them staring at you from afar and not knowing if or when it'll be the Killer.
