  • Goodness, some of you Survivors are the biggest complainers ever....

  • Well I blame this thread for the bad mojo tonight.....I need to start playing this POS earlier (I sadly dont have the sleep schedule to allow that)....tired of these SWF thousands+ hour Survivors at night. who should be faced against higher MMR players. Tired of being against juicers who run circles around me, just isn't fun.....

  • @Tsulan said:

The issue is, that most people voted "faster queues" in a poll about matchmaking. Queues were around 5-15 minutes back then.

So the devs widened the span of players getting matched to shorten said queues.

A middle ground could be a slider for players that allows for fairer matches in exchange for longer queues/shorter queues for unfairer matches.

Ultimately I still prefer having the faster matches, even though I hate when I get paired up with people better than I am, or more dedicated to sweat. But the flipside is that I remember queue times being DREADFUL, medium to horrendously long and would still at times get paired with a Smurf account with their high ranked buddies in a party to abuse MM (they did fix that at some point). But having 5+ mins waiting for a match, just to have people leave, or be in a 3/4 lobby where people would drop out and immediately the 4th Survivor would queue in and all that JUST to potentially have people DC early in....######### dreadful. I'll take getting stomped/juiced over waiting & doing nothing for so long. I can get like 2.5 matches going by the time 1 normal match conlcuded with how it used to be.

  • Yeeeeep. That's the topic of the week here it seems. I'm so done with Map Offerings....unless I played Scratch Mirror Myers...I never used any as Killer and I find Survivors bring them WAY more than Killers do. I would love to see what the statistics are (if BHVR even tracks that) and to see how often Survivors bring Map Offerings and WHICH Map Offerings are brought the most.

They're such a waste of Bloodweb space & inventory...even more so than other Offerings and add-ons, personally speaking. Esp when you have piles of the same 2-3 ones....like how badly do people wanna keep playing.of the same damn maps? Almost always I'll get the same map twice in a row, every session I sit down to play...then Survivors bring Offerings and poof...I flip-flop between Eyrie of Crows and House of Joy, with the occasional The Game Offering.

Maps need a overhaul with their size and tile randomization and Offerings be scrapped, with a better tuned randomizer for Maps being picked....

  • Nah, insta down stuff isn't all that threatening. Maybe for newer and more casual Survivors, but denying Michael stalking as much as possible, spreading out when in T3, don't swarm hooks if he's in T3 and looping well enough can counter him pretty well. Doubly so on bigger maps pr maps with plenty of pallets.

The only real threat Michael has is Tombstone Piece, which he can't just kill someone right away in the early game, everything else is just middle of the road for him. If he has Infinite T3, don't heal, spread out...like he can put pressure out, but it requires ya'll feeding him stalk and making risky plays while he's in T3.

Like he isn't outright garbage but he's very situational and ot as reliable or threatening against decent Survivors...playing against too reckless and too casual/new players is what people rank Killers up to in regards to their Tier placement.

  • @yauniqua said:

No and mostly has to do with the match making and solo queue.

Survivors should be prevented against going against Killers with an kill rate over 1.

Killers who have 3-4 kills per match should be given longer queue times as to prevent them from the overwhelming and oppressive play styles (4 gen popping perks, etc).

this game was way more active and less obnoxious until spirit came out... that midchapter in july of 2018 with exhaustion really should have been the end of the fake nonsense.

instead, they doubled down on bo0st1ng rank 20 KiLLaH MaiNz and then introduced this bizarre MMR. The only person I know with LEGIT legacy (p1 Meg) quit a month after MMR was introduced. He comes back for like 2 matches every now and then and just leaves cuz of how ridiculous this game is.

Longer queue times for Killers, brilliant!!! Exactly what the health of the game needs...sitting in queue times longer!

    /sarcasm

I needed a good chuckle, thanks.

  • Everything should be brought back...this fake scarce for digital items is just dumb and something that's been plaguing games for many years now. And I don't care if a bunch of people have access to cosmetics and skins that I had years prior....let people have their fun and earn the stuff during the event, make it available to buy afterwards.

  • Bait or not, the game has issues and there's def a degree of frustration, anxiety and stress that can come with playing Killer...and while there are times a really good player, or a 2-3 or even 4 SWF team can curbstomp ya...it's not THAT frequent.

The problem is "death by a 1000 cuts" scenario, small to medium issues that need to be looked at and fixed. Matchmaking is whatever, and I feel this game has never (and probably will never) have a solid & accurate matchmaking AND low queue times...I honestly don't think it can ever achieve both. Imo, the biggest problem is map design, some Perk reworks and then the structure of matches with Gens. In particular how any halfway decent team can still blow through them regardless of the Killer's performance.

But to say every match is against "gods" like c'mon xD. This just makes our arguments paper-thin and not taken seriously.... be better than that. The game is constantly in need to balance and restructuring...I just dunno of BHVR has the time, personnel or money to REALLY dedicate a huge chunk to fixing every bit that needs it.

  • Again, as people have said, playing the game is casual...it's sticking with it and becoming a long-term player and the game retaining those new, casual players that's the problem.

  • @Aurelle said:

The bots AI definitely needs improved. I can't count how many times they've gotten stuck on things, running into walls, continuously vaulting windows next to a hooked survivor, not bothering to save anyone.

Also agree on bots bringing perks. Maybe you could choose which perks they use so you can learn how to counter certain ones.

Just be nice to also have a randomizer for the bots and their Perks etc. Im.glsd we have them to practice with, because for so long you couldn't go into custom match without a friend invited to play Survivor. I'll take this meager offering over nothing.

Ultimately I'd like for BHVR to improve the AI, let them have Perks and as a failsafe waaaay down the line, if and when DBD is dead & you can't play online anymore...to let there be a solo and let Trophies and Challenges/Tomes be achievable from playing against bots. Because honestly I do not want DBD to "brick" and one day be fully unplayable.

  • Maps need a HUGE looking at....and it's a huge undertaking for sure, but Maps I feel are the biggest cause for frustration for both sides, though imo it affects Killers WAY more. Simply put, some maps just outright counter a Killer & their ability.

Huge map where Survivors spread out? Good luck getting Feral Fenzy hits as Legion. Map with a ton of pallets back to back? Good luck being a M1 Killer. Is the map indoors? Hillbillies are gonna have "fun" chainsawing there. A map that's mostly open space & visible? Stealth Killers are gonna have to double time it. There's just little consistency with the maps in regards to size, layout and how they work (or don't work) with Killers and their abilities. Not to mention it affecting Gens & their placement and how pressuring them can be.

  • Gods no....the Grind is still immense, even with tweaks to it recently. Plus with how matchmaking can be, newer players can get matched against decent to great Survivors shortly and get demotivated if they lose too much, too often.

The tutorial is ok....but the game really doesn't teach newer players the real meat & potatoes of playing match of DBD. Knowing how to looping/run killers, when to rescue and heal, when to spread out Gens to avoid a 3 Gen situation.l etc. Then for Killers it can be harder with learning to chase, when to break off chases, pressure gens, how to utilize all the different Killers and their unique abilities. It can be a lot to take in. All of this isn't even taking into consideration Perks and how best to start unlocking them AND how many are indeed, locked behind DLC with a small chance to appear on the Shrine, which requires a huge time commitment to have the Shards to get Perks off of there.

Not to mention having to suggest people watch video guides or matches of DBD players is probably off-putting and requires a fair bit of commitment to a VERY grind game. Either the new player LOVES Horror Mobies and can get behind all the IPs BHVR has here, they like the gameplay enough, have friends that they can play with to alleviate the passage of time & grind. OR they're gonna drop the game after a short while because they keep being stuck with few Perks and options for their character and see the huge mountain of grind to even have the options to trinker with playstyles & strategies.

Heck, I'm a veteran player, having joined when Clown was just added and around the old Summer BBQ Event, who's played for years and unlocked plenty of Perks & characters. I took about a year, almost 2 year break and coming back, there is SO much catch-up for me to do...I can't imagine starting out brand new right now.

  • Been playing a few matches as Ghostface here and there. He's in my top fav Killers slot, plus been wrapping up Tome Challenges and been getting dailies for him. I do alright with him, but usually get countered a bit when people are on come and depending on the map for how well I can slink around stealthily.

  • It's getting to be a problem (when has it not?) and having returned to DBD after such a hiatus, it's is BAFFLING that BHVR still hasn't rectified the blunder of nerfing Decisive Strike. Nor found anything decent to punish and prevent hard tunneling.

Mind you I play more Killer than Survivor, but whenever I do play Survivor, every other match has someone hard tunneled and it's getting to be a real annoyance.

  • I mean...if you're gonna be like that...

    giphy.gif

Matches in DBD are often going to be lopsided and both sides making mistakes is gonna have a steep penalty for how that match unfolds...lol. Unless you bring a friend or two to coordinate with, or get better at looping, hiding and/or pressuring & spreading Gens out...you're gonna find yourself hitting these outcomes a lot. It's the nature of the Beast and you either accept it or move on.

  • LOL, I'm just flabbergasted people are STILL complaining about Legion....

Survivors on here really will find any and everything to complain about. The answer is no, implementing such a thing would be awful for queue times. Play the match, or DC & get penalized, or suicide on hook and throw the other Survivors under the bus because you wanted to be selfish about which Killers you do/don't wanna face.

  • I've only recently returned to playing DBD after my long hiatus (def needed it) and I've been having a blast with Wesker. I honestly can't see myself getting bored with him, although I AM a diehard Resident Evil fan, so there's a huge bonus there xD.

Knight I haven't played yet but he sorta seems not really my cup of tea, I'll absolutely give him a try whenever I get him...but given my top fav Killers have been Michael Myers, Ghostface, Pig and Legion, it be a bitnif a departure from how I'm kinda muscle-memoried into play. As far as facing Knights when I play Survivor, they have quickly become my least favorite to face...so SO many hard tunnel and just won't leave the Hook area EVER.

  • Ya'll didn't let Bubba cook and jump so fast

    77tyas.jpg

    ....

  • Demo can be fun, stuff like Make Your Choice and Deviur Hope can give em a fun edge but if you play against any decent group of Survivors, you're gonna have a bad time. I've been playing more Survivor recently and every Demo I faced did alright but they had little pressure, chases rarely went well for them and not too much snowball potential unless you get insta down status. I think the bests thing Demo has for him are Exit Gate standoffs lol...and that's only if you get down to 1 Survivor left alive.

He isn't bad...just middle of the road or low middle and gets overshadowed by other Killers and has more work to do against better Survivors and Survivor teams.

  • I only watch Otzdarva, OhTofu and Stalky Boi anymore, occasionally I'll look is Samination has anything, but I don't watch religiously. Other content folks I watched in the past have just been off-putting, clickbaity or just annoying AF. The genral/mainstream media of DBD is pretty awful aside from fan art or the occasional parody video. People wanting clip bait plays or wanting to be in a montage, can be a little detrimental to the health of the game.

  • I mostly play Killer over Survivor, but Killers who tunnel at 5 or even 4 Gens or face camp at 5 or 4 Gens are some of the worst things ever. You do not need to sweat that hard, that early....

  • Medkits can be a problem and need a tweak. On their own and solo queue I don't have a problem, but when they're really good medkits (with solid add-ons) and used in tandom with a SWF they become problematic. Especially so if multiple ones brought and unless the Killer brings Franklin's or the ability to inflict the Broken Status IE: PLague, Legion with add-ons and certain Perks, it becomes a huge hassle, as you can't leave folks alone and spread the damage, or break off chases as they'll heal up.

Perks are fine imo, I use Healing/Support builds when I play Survivor and play solo queue, as well as teamed up with my GF and it's saved our bacon a few times....but have been countered or outplayed and as vastly more limited than bringing good Medkits into the match. Perks have requirements, Boons can be snuffed, take time to set-up & reapply is stomped out. Not to mention Killers can exploit the fact Survivors keep going back to the same Boon areas and catch em in the middle of a heal.f

  • Seeing how so many folks, myself included, use the Pride Charms on Hooks/Survivors....hmmm. 🤔. Also this game is as much as a Horror game as Saw is a scary horror franchise.

  • I'm a Killer main and mostly only play Survivor with my Girlfriend and Looping is def my weakest aspect xD. I can SOMETIMES do it decently, but if the Killer if decent enough, I get stuffed pretty quickly, espnif I'm not practiced on certain maps and where to go :P. I've always been the "DO Gens, get Unhooks and Heal" support type of playstyles :P. Not ashamed by it, I just play to have fun and not really dedicate time to perfecting such things xD

  • Demogorgon is fine..... Basement builds are fine and can get hard countered if you don't feed the Demo or just play smartly enough with the Endurance effect, or bring Borrowed Time and/or Reassurance. If I'm solo queue Survivor, I almost always slap on Borrowed Time and We'll Make It. Like sure a basement camper can camp for the 1 Kill, but can also lose all the Gens by then.

Personally I love Make Your Choice on Demo and just peruse the other Gens/areas and port back for a cheeky MYC Insta Down. Like yeah it can be a drag to have this happen to you, at least at the beginning of the game...butnits the nature of the beast.

  • Artist, Pinhead and Hag are the only ones I just don't have too much fun against. Not counting camping Killers, obviously, that can be any and all of em.

  • Getting to fully Tombstone a Survivor team (with both Ultra Rare add-ons) for the Evil Incarnate Trophy two separate times. As the first time I got it, the Trophy didn't pop, despite having met the requirements.

  • If I see 4 Toolboxes I'll either bring Franklin's Demise (and hope I get to hit them as a pallet drops and they can't get their item, if that can still happen) but if I'm in a bad mood and don't feel like playing ping-pong with Survivors and their items, then yeah I'll back out.

Sure it doesn't mean they're a SWF or a sweaty group but there's no way to tell that from the lobby. Bringing 4 Toolboxes and possibly using Gen focus Perks/Builds, is overkill and if I'm too tired or faced similar group of Survivors/situations, multiple times in that day of matches. ..no thanks. I don't do it a lot but there are times every now and then where I feel the sweat/evil instinct kick in...nope :P.

  • The only time I have ever used Map Offering as Killer is when I play Scratch Mirror Myers....have never bothered otherwise. As Survivor, unless Im playing with my GF, I don't bother either. I get so tired of Survivors using the same handful of Map Offerings all the time

  • Now let's see it done over a longer period of time/large amount of matches and see what the stats are for your wins/loss withsaid Killers :P . Like nobody said people can't ever win with any Killer ever, personal skill notwithstanding.

  • I mean....Mori complaining, in this day and age? *looks at the calendar* 📅. Old Red Mori Offerings, before the rework I'd understand...but c'mon xD

  • Sometimes I do....but I have a Heart Condition and always had a bit of stage fright, so I have this 100% automatic & unconscious reaction when booting up a match. Doesn't always happen, but it does and even if I think, feel and say "I really don't give 2 shakes about how this match plays out"...I'll till feel my chest tighten and ache a little and feel butnof stage fright (or is it a bit of adrenaline?) Kick in. It's partly one reason I stopped playing for such a long time. Plus getting upset wasn't good for my health, and off on stuff in DBD can def get on my nerves.

But as a whole it's like 60/40 on the stress & health stuff gets to me VS it not. Have to take breaks and atm only aiming for like 5 matches max per day, or sitting if play throughout the whole day.

  • It used to be worse....much worse. I've only played like 2-5 matches the last three days and made a LOT of Bloodpoints, granted the Tome and login gifts add to it...but even without them, it take me WAY more matches to even get a day or two of Bloodpoints like I can now.

It isn't perfect, still say we need a way to trade items, map offerings & add-ons I will never use, for Bloodpoints...so many Map Offerings are rotting in my Inventory...lol. But I won't fully look a gift horse in the mouth here.

  • Your "friend" should stop complaining about things that are perfectly fine in the game....Windows are not supposed to a 100% safety net against Killers, lol. I swear if a new trend of people complaining about windows starts up.....

  • Never a single one in the years I've played DBD. I used to give the last Survivor Hatch or Exit Gate if the match went by badly or people DC'd/gave up...did so this week as well, but I rarely do so anymore. Survivors never extend the same courtesy to me, feel less inclined to put much of that energy into things anymore...lol

  • Maps are my biggest complaint with the game right now...there are too many that are just too big and/or too safe with the obnoxious amount of pallets. Some maps are fine, but whenever I get one I can't stand, I just go into automode and get whatever Bloodpoints I can & move on.

Also only a personal complaint, but RPD & Midwich I hate the field of view/darkness in some areas, where I just bump into stuff or if I'm turning to look quickly in different areas, I get turned around.

  • BHVR when things are bad:

    leslie-nielsen-nothing-to-see-here.gif

  • Not that anyone cares but it's disappointing that the DBD YouTuber/Streamer HybridPanda is in support of NFT technology and is somehow convinced they'll be good in the future (no matter that what, in 10+ years...how much damage will be done by then if even true) and is also whiteknighting BHVR and saying they're not at fault for this whole thing.....like how dense are people? BHVR easily not agree to such a thing, not support and certainly not promote this #########.

Is that how we right wrongs? By causing damage? Maybe I fail to understand the full frustration being felt, but I wouldn't call for a need to damage a company.

If the efforts here are a blip, then it wouldn't amount to damage anyways.

What's important is that BHVR has lessons to learn. Consumers cannot force a company to learn, only the company can choose to learn the lesson if they so choose. The best we can do is not to damage, but to teach this company to be more responsible by following through with an actual effort not to put any money into the company or it's IP's.

Due to how trendy this game has become, I'd find it challenging for this community to follow through with such a tremendous effort. It would require individual self control and willingness that I don't know the group really has as a whole. We are all human and we will have our moments of weakness.

If the consumers did stay strong, and they did follow through, the company would be faced with only a few options; learn their lesson, drop the product and work on new projects altogether, or not change anything at all and deteriorate

Even if this community could follow through, even if self control was properly demonstrated, could you handle watching bhvr or dbd deteriorate? It's not a pretty sight to watch something pass away, but that is exactly what all would need to be prepared for in order to teach such a company anything at all.

Yeah....it's a game company..a corporate entity. It isn't a person, so spare me the philosophical talk about damaging a company that makes bank off their products and got greedy to support a Pyramid Scheme that actively harms the planet we are living on way more than most other activities a person can do in a lifetime.

The game industry is rife with this bullshit and have been allowed to continue because of nihilistic fence sitters such as yourself thinking nothing can be changed, which use adds numbers and silent voices to those that SUPPORT these ongoing actions. So yeah...it's worth giving them feedback to how ######### ######### it is for their company to be doing this.

  • @PalletsAndHooks said:

The community would need an across-the-board wallet famine for this to work, and that famine has to last for at least six months, if not, a full year, for any of this to have an effect.

Bhvr will quickly bait the community with licensed chapters and auric only cosmetics that aren't Nea exclusives.

I don't think the people can resist licensed bait.

    the-dark-knight-its-about-sending-a-message.gif

Even if the loud voices of our dissatisfaction on here and other online spaces are a blip compared to the majority that don't come online to talk DBD, there's enough news and spread to do some damage. Besides,

It's certainly a new low for a company that has the bar deeper than the mariana trench. Its almost impressive at this point.

And they doubled down on it too, addressing none of the concerns people had before their announcement when it leaked, then doubled down again after they officially announced the partnership & support of NFTs

  • Not playing and certainly not paying BHVR. Playing some backlog console games I have, spending more time with my dogs and watching bunches of Horror movies, just ordered the Phantasm 5 movie Box Set off ebay too. Pretty much any and everything is better than supporting BHVR at this time and the foreseeable future.

  • @Boss said:

Well i guess this is the straw that broke my back

I wonder if you have an idea of how hard it is for me to write this, and moreso for me to do this.

First, i'll write some of my problems with this game...

    • 5th Anniversary was quite the disappointment to me, which i REALLY needed to not be.
    • Hackers are going loose right now and they're showing very little care about it too. (Devs, if you read this: SHOW! SHOW that you care.)
    • And now this whole ordeal with the Hellraiser chapter.
    • Some patches & statements REALLY made me question if they know what they're actually doing, with 2 prime examples being Mcote saying: "Infinites take skill." & the patch which made Survivors able to Pallet-stun or blind the Killer at any time during the pick-up animation and it would trigger the rescue, removing any timing needed besides having to be there during the animation.
    • Survivor gameplay is VERY much the same since launch, so i got bored with that after a while, and thus i wasn't playing half of the game anyway.
    • Don't like Battle Passes, and while i didn't enjoy the Rift either, i tolerate it.
    • Linked outfits are quite terrible to me but i just didn't think about them.
    • QA more often than i'd like feels non-existant after patch releases.
    • With the current Boon Perks and more surely coming up, using Hex: Devour Hope on its own is no longer a viable option for me to generate my kind of fun, and this reason alone would surely eventually kill my desire to play DbD.
    • Crashes/freezes. No other game of mine has crashed or frozen as many times as DbD has, and crashes/freezes are a HUGE demotivator for me to play, i'm usually done playing a game for the day if it crashes or freezes.
    • Optimization for consoles is absolutely astonishing and i don't mean the good astonishing.

    But guess what?

I don't regret a single thing, because i enjoyed all of MY decisions in the game...

    • I don't regret getting all Perks on one character, as they helped keep the game fresh for me, good or bad.
    • I don't regret getting all those cosmetics, as i enjoyed making my own personal outfits and show them off.
    • I don't regret sinking so much time into this game, as it's the same as any other hobby: You sink time into it cause you enjoy it, and enjoying DbD i sure did. (Half of it, but that half was pretty damn good.)

And i am very confident i won't regret this decision either: ######### this, it's time to quit!

It's been a good run DbD, but it's time to put you to bed.

I feel no more joy starting it up and enjoyment is all i play games for.

The ONLY reason i'm not permanently deleting DbD isn't because i don't want to remove my playtime.

I've deleted many save files in multiple Dark Souls games before, all of which contained AT LEAST dozens of hours per save file.

No, the ONLY reason why i'm not doing that is cause, despite all this, it hasn't changed me: I'm still a hopeful man.

Call it blind faith, but perhaps there's a future out there where a different company buys DbD and simply does way better.

Heck, i might get into a different asymmetrical game. (Don't count on it.)

I could probably write lots more, but i don't think it's worth it, plus it's late as i write this.

Took me like 2 days to make this decision too and whenever i had free time, this decision was all i was thinking about.

Some of you will think i took way too long, some of you will think i'm overreacting and will come back soon.

Both of you could be right, both of you could be wrong, i really don't care cause this is my experience.

I'm just really ready to be done with this game now.

See y'all in other games perhaps IDK i'm not much of a multiplayer-only guy besides DbD of course.

I'll probably check on this comment again tomorrow, but i suspect i'll be done with the forums as well after that.

    *sheds tear*

I now you've been here a long time. I was here before you got your red/trusted status. I've been I'm a similar sort of mood with the game BEFORE the NFT bs. It takes a fair bit to stop playing a game that you love (and essentially addicted to). But there is little integrity with the responsibility at BHVR, especially now more than ever.

For a good while, from my introduction of the game when Clown came out, to about when Deathslinger released, I was playing DBD every day. I actually did not play any singleplayer game during that time frame. Then I got burned out and then got miffed and further burned with how console performance was (still is) and then the removal of Events, the battlepass rift nonsense etc.

Then we come to this and their huge silence until they give a pitiful explanation that doesn't answer nor addresses the major issues and concerns people are having. Just a ######### show. I wish ya the best and hope you stick to your guns, because this situation needs to be burned into the Industry's mind, that they don't forget.

  • The only funny thing is you thinking us up in arms here is enough to tank numbers on our own.....but you already knew that and still wanted your "ah-ha, gotcha" here.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

I see no reason to attack them honestly

I doubt every employee supports the NFT thing

BHVR is a company, not a person. Nobody is attacking any individual solely on this.... so tired of people conflating outrage at a corporate entity with harassment at any one person or persons. Everyone amassing outrage for the bullshit here is putting out their disappointment at the company as a whole. Don't make this about something that isn't an issue here.

  • No, while I may be on the forums I am not coming back to the game. I've already long since been boycotting other game companies.... Activision Blizzard, EA, Ubisoft and Konami when they went downhill. So no, I have no issue with refraining from playing and paying in DBD.

  • People are ######### morons. People don't want to have to think or make moral choices, they just want to play game think about nothing. Finally some stupid mother ######### absolutely gor suckered into this Pyramid Scheme, spent way too much money on NFTs and HAVE to defend them because they don't want to come to terms with reality.
