So it's been quite some time since the hefty emblem system that...did nothing. What is the point in a ranking system when all the good players derank to bully the noobs?

Some extra bloodpoints at least would be nice and encourage people to rank up.

If they are going to make rank mean something then they better be prepared to make this game balanced more "competitively" and not make "gimmick" perks.

I'm of the mindset that rank should be removed so people can stop stressing over a stupid number and emblem and just enjoy the game for fun and not get so worked up over proper balance.

  • Just my personal take on Whispers but I find it messes with where you look more often then not. If I were to run whispers I tend to not do as much "detective work" to figure out my targets location and rely too much on the perk only to not find them.

Spies on the other hand has been one of those perks no one uses and for that reason no one plays around it and I too have had some good success running it. I find it very useful on Pig since once survivors have a RBT on they will be in a rush to get places disturbing more crows than normal.

I wanna learn Nurse, but every game I get destroyed and lose motivation very fast, how did you good nurse players stay in motivation l, when every match with her I wanna Kermit afterwards?

Until you understand her blink and have developed muscle memory for it (doesn't need to be perfect) don't go into matches with the aim to get kills or win. When I was practicing Nurse I set goals for myself such as:

-This match I'll try to only hit survivor X with blink attacks
-This match I want to find the player who tries to "mind-game" me the most and focus them to learn their movement
-This match I will always go for 2 blink hits to try and get use to the movement
-Now that I know Nurse this match I'll attempt to get at least 2 kills, 3 kills, etc

Set personal and realistic goals to reach while you practice and don't worry about getting the "win" until you have a good understanding of her blink.

  • It would also open up the mind-games as you could be protecting a pointless totem like Haunted grounds to confuse survivors. I honestly don't know why this wasn't in the game a long time ago. I also wish the totem aura was not the same red as everything else since it gets difficult on some maps to even see where it is located.

  • Like every patch it was rushed out for release without bug testing. I have had matches where the person being unhooked has kept the immunity for nearly 5 solid seconds after running and I have had matches where people go down before they even touch the ground.

  • @Peanits said:

    People of the Fog,

    I greet you all!

I just came across this Idea and I cant wait to share it with you.
Maybe even a Mod or the Devs will read it and implement it.

Now that we have the Cash Shop filled with Customes (Remember, you can only wear one Outfit at once!) we should go the next step!
    Add new Services!

Add some of the Offerings in a Pack of I dont know 5, 25, 50, 100 and sell them.
    Like: Buy 5 Map Offerings of Heddonfield for 0,99$ (25 for 3,99$, 50 for 7,99$, 100 for 14,99$).
Or like: Buy 5 Streamers for 3,99$ (Due to Balance and to avoid P2W!!!! this should cost more than 0,99$).

I bought all the Cosmetics so far that I need for my Main Surv/Killer + Off Surv/Killer. I might buy some if I really like a piece, but over all my Money is sinking in this game. I want to invest more and this could be a nice way to keep the Moneystream on :)

    What you guys thinking?

Have you thought about applying at EA?
I think even Activision is hiring for Destiny 3 micro-transactions management.

I hate this killer so much. For example, when you're running and when you least expect it you trip a phantasm trap. I swear I've almost had a heart attack from those. Especially when you have your sound up and a headset on..

I rather that than have a hag who puts all of her traps around a hooked survivor and then goes away for 10 seconds and then rushes back.

I agree camping sucks but I won't dismiss it works more then it doesn't. I however don't understand why I see quite a few Hag players put all 10 traps around a hooked survivor and still stay in the area. To make things even more bizarre is the fact that they are often running Devour Hope.

I think they should have buffed Prove Thyself when they buffed Leader and other perks that affected other survivors. I think the buff should stay on you for 15 sec. after other survivors have left your 8 meter radius, just like Leader, Streetwise, etc...

Not a big deal , but thought it would help the perk.

    Prove Thyself:

For each survivor within 8m increase the likeliness Dwight will remove his shirt by 20/40/guaranteed %. Once Dwight's shirt is removed if the Killer gets within 20m of Dwight they will be stunned by pure giddiness for 6/8/10 seconds and Dwight's chest will glisten in the moonlight.

Using Prove Thyself will always result in you becoming the obsession.

I'm on Xbox, the framerate isn't as bad as people say. I just got a new Elite controller, and I play on 75% sensitivity since I started to use her. It's honestly not that hard to aim with a controller, IDK why people make a big deal about the mouse stuff. I can turn around plenty fast during a blink when someone 360's me, only reason I don't is because I'm still learning how to do it. Usually I miss but the point is I can do it once I practice more. It's only been like 3 days and I'm already quite the monster without totems, one shots, or aura perks. I play on the X so most games are very smooth, smoother than when I play as Freddy believe it or not.

Once you start playing Red ranks (actual red rank survivors and not people who are boosted) you will want to be at 100% sensitivity. I would really like them to add someway to increase the sensitivity further because I often find 100% isn't enough at times.

  • @Avariku said:
I play both sides of the field, so I have a hard time actually seeing which side is worse. Both Killer and Survivor "usually" have valid points, but each group has people screaming and crying that they are being abused by the other side.

Does one side REALLY have it worse than the other?

Survivors have face-campers, they have various abilities and offerings which seem rather useless, and not to mention the constant battle of solo players trying to keep up with toxic SWF's.

Killers have loopers, body-blockers, Hex totems spawning next to survivor spawns, and of course toxic survivors.

but for the most part it just seems like each are trying to play the "victim" card.

I'll give a very short summary of something I said a long time ago.
The reason so many people hate on each other and have conflicting viewpoints (aside from this being the internet) is because Dead By Daylight isn't clear in what direction it wants to go with its horror themed game. They try to balance this game as if its suppose to be competitive one day then suddenly add in perks and mechanics that are far more gimmicky and meant for simple fun. Since the game has no clear direction you have people who believe this game is competitive and should be balanced as such and you have people that believe this game should be more casual and balanced for fun rather than equilibrium.

That is what I believe is one of the major factors with how split the community has become.

Take Black Ops's Blackout Battle Royal and you can see it wants to be more "realistic" and "competitive" then compare that to a game like Totally Accurate Battlegrounds that has a clear direction of being a fun and wacky Battle Royal experience. Both games are balance differently and both have a understood expectation of what the game is going to be about.

Vigil was so good before the exhaustion nerf. I hardly see anyone use it now. I hope it gets buffed in some different way in future.

I have no idea whether I'll end up using it much. But will try a few different things with Vigil III and see what I think. 20% boost isn't bad, but whether it's worth a perk slot... people say no, but I'll see for myself.

Vigil isn't as bad now that they added in that 15 second perk lingering effect for Leader, Streetwise and Vigil. I still wouldn't say its a good perk but it does make for a few nice gimmick builds you can have fun with.

  • @thesuicidefox

Sounds like you are getting the hang of it, but are you PC or console? As a console player I do find Shadowborn is almost a necessity due to poor fps but on PC I find it pretty easy after awhile to drop the perk and still do perfectly fine.

    This is my opinion.

There are too many hooks. It's entirely too easy for a killer to hook a player.
For any perk that increases the killer's walk/run speed - a certain number of hooks should be removed.

With so many hooks, wiggling seems pointless. Hooks shouldn't be convenient for the killer to walk to (they're almost everywhere. My average count is 6 to 9 seconds to walk to a hook and 20 seconds to wiggle free). Hooks should be as time consuming to walk to, as generators. Generators are spread out, all over the map. Hooks should be the same.

The wiggle mechanic was put into the game so the Killer could not hold you hostage both figuratively and literally. The wiggle mechanic was not meant as a means to escape the Killer under normal circumstances. If your team can provide a bunch of time for you then yes the wiggle is a way to break free but only if the team makes the effort to help you out.

  • @HellDescent said:
You'd think they would've picked up on it by now

The system does pick them up and typically the mods take them down pretty fast. It boggles my mind how many must actually be trying to push through if we are seeing this many make it.

People insist that Empathy is superior to Bond when it comes to knowing where the killer is during a chase.

Depends. I prefer Bond because I can see survivors who have not been hit running around meaning I always know who is being chased. Also if someone gets hit who isn't in my aura radius then I know the killer is far away and I don't need to worry. I would only say Empathy is superior if you plan on going for heals.

  • @DeadbyDuran said:
Please fix his ability. It takes almost no time at all to wind up, he has full directional movement, and he never fails to one-shot anyone in a game. It’s practically impossible to win against him with that stupid barbeque and chili perk as well.

His power requires him to be within melee range meaning he could have hit you with a normal attack. His power takes a bit to charge up and he has to be careful not to clip some of the horrible item hitboxes on the map. As a survivor you have lots of time to get away from him or circle tightly around small objects to force him to either hit the item with his chainsaw or take the turn too wide to hit you. As others have said he isn't a very good killer.

One game me and my husband had was we went up against a wraith who stood behind us invisible as we worked on a gen and kept playing with his bell but never hitting us. He kept chasing us but never hit us. So we just finished gens as hes going around being silly.

We end up getting a message from him at the end of the game saying "Yeah, I didn't feel like killing anyone. Thought it would be fun to have a silly game."

We thanked him and wished him a good night. That was great :)

I played a match as Wraith where I found my ruin totem tucked away in a corner. Having a brilliant stroke of genius I decided to stand in front of it while invisible so no one could cleanse it. Eventually a Meg found the totem and was perplexed as to why she couldn't reach it. She eventually told he friends who all showed up trying to get into the crevice with the totem confused by why they couldn't. When I started ringing my bell did I ever get some good jump-scare reactions! It was a fun game.

  • Devour Hope, Huntress Lullaby, Haunted Ground and Thrill of the Hunt.

13 totems on the map all lit up like Christmas trees beckoning survivors while notifications sound off like cannon fire in the killers ear!

The chaos, the beauty, the pure madness!

  • @Eight

If you are feeling bold try using OoO, its a fun perk if you think you can stay hidden or break a chase.
If you want to keep with the theme of this build you can also use Small Game for finding totems and traps (a vision that danger is near!)

  • @Blueberry said:
The description makes you think it actually helps a lot when in reality it's a barely noticeable amount. I believe it was tested to only add a few seconds if that.

Iron grasp tier 3 adds 4 seconds to the wiggle bar.
More importantly it makes the wiggle bar red rendering any survivor on your should hopelessly frustrated by the color as they scream out in anguish "DAMN IRON GRASP!!!"

Its both, additionally it ignores collision with the killer

Last part isn't true. I've used it and gotten stuck on the killer multiple times.

It is true. During the invincibility frames you can jump through the killer, if you are too far away when you try this then the frames will have ended and you will collide with the killers hitbox. This "tactic" has been a thing since the perk was first released.

  • @boflex22 said:
The wiggling takes to long and the hooks are close together and you never have enough time to wiggle off

The wiggle is only there so the killer cannot figuratively and literally hold you hostage, the wiggle is not meant as a means to escape. Unless your team sets up a situation that buys you a lot of time you shouldn't (by game mechanics) be able to wiggle free.
