seriously it takes alot of mental fortitude to not dc as a survivor on hawking. any anti looping killer aka clown doc spirit etc makes life miserable on that map just due to bloodlust/their abilities. its unfun and its skilless. sure balanced landing can be decent on there but eventually they WILL get you. looping/mind gaming isnt skill anymore with these layouts. its just hold W as a killer and stack bloodlust.
Hawkins has some amazing loops that do not require pallets to be effective. Spend some more time learning the map and you will see how powerful "safe" pallets would make this map.

Gen rushing - Survivors completing their main objective as quickly as possible.
Tunneling - Killers completing their main objective as quickly as possible.
While tunnelings effectiveness will vary depending on the team you face it is a valid strategy. Many people will tell you its "scummy" and while I'll agree it isn't fun for the person getting tunneled, neither is having 5 gens done in 4-5m.
Play win/lose, have fun.

It wastes time for the last 2 survivors and encourages dc'ing for the next to last survivor. There needs to be an option for the slugged survivor to bleed out faster at some point during the slug instead of having to wait for a full 4 minutes on the ground.
0 gens finished and yet hooking the third survivor means the last has a chance to escape. If you are playing to rank up this is detrimental with how the killer emblem system works. Sadly slugging for the 4k is one of the few ways a high rank killer can push for a 1 pip game and avoid being screwed over by the emblem system. Trust me its not fun on either side but the 0 gen hatch spawn mechanics has made it the only viable way to maintain and obtain that pip.

I don't see how you could. There's basically two ways she could be played.
1) You don't cleanse. You're choosing to be permanently one hit away from death. She's still a 4.6m/s killer, has all the normal counterplay.
2) You do cleanse, she has corrupt purge for a limited time. You can wait it out, you can stun her, you can dodge it. It's like a Huntress.
Either way, there's stuff you can do to avoid it and there's no guessing. If you get hit, it's because you were in a bad place and she outplayed you.
Toxic people sadly always find a way...

So obviously the killer metas on Pc and consoles are a bit different, like for example Nurse was the most powerful on Pc, but a joke on consoles.
Spirit and billy are still pretty popular but truthfully? Freddy is the big dog in red ranks. I could vs billy and spirit all day and not sweat too much. But Freddy? Freddy is straight up painful to face.
His map pressure is insane, his teleport paired with Discordance/Surveillance and Pop goes the weasel is god tier.
His snares are borderline game breaking, basically a clown with no recharge or slow down.
His ability to remain invisible until he’s in your face whilst your asleep shortens the hell out of chases.
His lunge is ridiculous (surely I’m not the only one who thinks this)
His movement speed even though his abilities don’t slow him down is also insane, the only killer not slowed whilst using abilities.
Anyways, I’m not asking for a nerf or anything, but reading blah blah Spirit this and that all day, when Freddy is in my opinion, even stronger, is funny.
Anyone else on consoles agree? Or does no one truly believe Freddy is top tier?
Not sure what he’s like on PC, but he’s just as popular, if not more then spirit on Xbox.
Actually Nurse is still the most powerful killer on console even though you only ever see 1 every 100 games. A good Nurse player will perform just as well as a good PC player.
Now if we are keeping "powerful" in terms of killers you see played more often that perform to an above average state, then yes I agree Freddy is strong but I still wouldn't place him as my personal top.

Over 5hrs of playing and 99% of games are killers that use ruin and tunnel super hard. Just git gud at the ######### game already
Look tunneling sucks for the person getting focused true, but just like survivors can "gen rush" so too can a killer "kill rush". Its often the most effective way to get kills in unorganized groups. If its a big problem for you I would suggest running any anti-tunnel perks you can or playing far more "stealthy" to begin with.

I honestly think the terms "sweaty" and "tryhard" have become so perverse and deformed over the past few years that they have pretty much lost all true meaning.
Basically anyone who is trying to win with a competitive mindset is now labeled as "tryhard" or "sweaty" as if it is some sort of insult. I really don't get it, especially because its typically used (note I said typically) by toxic people trying to tear someone down for playing competitively (and the term "competitively" has also been perversed/deformed in terms of meaning by these toxic people).
Basically its trying to "insult" someone for trying to win/do their best.

Most high rank players don't cleanse as it gives plague a much better huntress axe. Its only in low and some mid ranks that people constantly cleanse.
The issue with only one fountain is that you would be forcing survivors to play with the broken status constantly (since its easy to infect everyone) and you would get so much more value from that 1 corrupt fountain because now everyone is forcefully "broken" and you have damaging puke.
I think this idea would unintentional buff Plague like crazy. I think Plague is at a very nice "middle of the road" spot right now. A little add-on dependent but still capable.

I guess you are not playing in high ranks that's why you don't see :)
So people in high ranks use Spirit because she is one of the best/most viable killers and instead of buffing weaker killers to open up a bigger variety for high rank players your suggestion is to nerf Spirit so only sub-optimal killers can be played?
Just need you to clarify your logic please.

I had to slug her for a minute to be sure DS wont strike me. In the match result she didn't had an obsession perk. Yet two others in the game had DS.
@Peanits are you guys aware of this? I had this months ago and it's still happening.
Are YOU using an obsession perk? Because if you have a perk equipped but no survivor is using an obsession perk then it will randomly select one in order to allow you to active your own perk.

The whole year is operation health.
See that big strip at the bottom saying game health that spans from June 2019 to June 2020?
They're just not going to stop dlcs to do it.
A concern many people have is with how small the team at BHVR (compared to more prominent companies) is that not enough attention is going towards fixing core issues that still remain since its early release. I understand you have different departments that work different jobs (the Art director isn't patching codding issues) but with DLCs still being made to the extend they are now that pulls the tester and technical teams attention away from fixing the fundamentals.
BHVR has had a miracle of success and became a staple of the "Horror genre" in gaming. They have amassed enough attention to purchase so many licenses for their game, even modern ones like Stranger Things. Its time they fix the old foundation this game was built upon and update it to fit what this game has evolved into. Take the time to do this and all future updates will run so much smoother.

I personally want a few things too make him an actual threat, as I feel Legion has alI the pieces too be a good viable killer, but they are all in the wrong order. I have over 1500 hours in the game and a Killer Main.
1: make M1's attacks not drain power. Could you imagine if Spirit had this same problem? or Freddy? It's just an un-needed burden that really makes no sense since he is the only killer with this problem.
2: reduce the base recharge speed of Feral Frenzy. I don't know the actual number for how long it is, but it feels like 30 seconds just too get it back without the ruler addons. It should be reduced just a little bit, so it can be used more effectively with addons like the pins or Frank's Mixtape.
3: Let all killers see the progress of Deep Wound's going down. This is just a change that really doesn't effect gameplay, because either the killer is ignoring you for someone else, or they will simply keep tunneling that person so it won't go down anyway.
4: This is just a spitball, but I would like if the current Frank's Mixtape was base, and the addon was an addition on top of that. The current Mixtape is literally pointless, and hitting people with Deep Wounds with Frenzy wastes time. IDK how many hits the current mixtape takes too down someone, but I believe it's 4 hits, so adding it base with another should make it take 3 hits instead, thus giving some use too Frank's Mixtape while not bringing back the pain of Old Legion.
These are just idea's for the poor killer who was butchered and then left too die. he never needed such heavy nerfs too everything he does, and these changes I feel would make him a strong killer, while not making him like Old Legion and ruining everyone's fun.
Allow Legion to Feral Frenzy into a locker and teleport to another locker, however when they re-emerge they are now a different member of the Legion.
Just a fun gimmick to bring LEGION some actual meaning to the groups name.

I'm a very altruistic solo player but it doesn't matter how many people I save, if we don't fix the generators then we don't escape. There is no argument here.
I honestly wish there was a "Both" option to this poll but generators getting completed will always trump teammates, even though both play a major part in the overall match.

I literally posted a video proving you wrong. The difference was 23(!) seconds for 1 person. Stop spreading lies.
I'm not a fan of gen-tapping but its also slow so I don't complain, however as for the video you posted there is a problem...
Because Ruin skillchecks are RNG and the skill of the player hitting/missing the skillchecks is also a factor Gen-tapping is both faster AND slower than Ruin.
I've done gens without ever getting a single skillcheck and I've done gens that have had upwards of 10. Because the variables are so sporadic/RNG we cannot say definitely that gen-tapping is better or worst.
This is an argument that has no winning side.
As for "gen-tapping a regressing generator" I do wish it took more than a quick tap from a survivor to stop.

No No No No No No No.
Fun is not a valid wincon! Why do people keep acting like it is?
If your describing how a round of dead by daylight and someone after hearing what happened asks "ok great but did you win?" You don't say yes if the Killer absolutely wrecked you and toyed with you for 5 minutes in the form of a somewhat enjoyable psudo-roleplay ending in you dying to devour.
You can't qualify fun and having fun isn't itself an accomplishment. An outside observer watching the game cannot use that criteria to determine a win and most importantly, you can't balance around it.
A wincon is not just how you personally like to play, or even what you want to accomplish in a game*. A wincon is the task the game is presenting to you. While any game can be useful or fulfilling only a round in which you complete the wincon can truly be called a successful round. You may succeed at something other than the trial itself but in order to succeed at a trial (as opposed to succeeding at some other task inside of a trial) you MUST complete the wincon.
And as per the tutorial of the game that wincon is the sacrifice the Survivors or if you are a Survivor to escape the trial.
No one is forcing you to attempt to win. However you do need to accept that the game is designed around the assumption that you will do so, and thus not playing towards the wincon can risk a suboptimal experience.
You are correct that "fun" and "wincon" can go hand in hand but both are completely separate entities.
While winning the match isn't the most important thing (unless you are playing with a truly competitive mindset, and there is nothing wrong with that) it is still the intended goal of the match. Fun is simply a byproduct of the overall experience and your attitude towards it.
I don't play Scratch Mirror Myers with the intention of getting a 4k or getting a "pip" but rather to scare people. If I managed to scare everyone and they all escaped then sure I "won" my personal goal but I still lost the match.

I am main killer, trying my best to be a good doctor, so far I can't complain but.... But I use overcharge and no matter if the survivors escaped or not I always need to read in chat that I am bad, can't play, noob... Just because of overcharge perk.
I start to not to use it anymore for the sake of a fun play also for survivors.
Here is the question: am I right in thinking that also main killer (like me) sometimes need to think about the fun of the trial also for our 4 survivors, maybe not being the super merciless killer that hook all of them asap? I do like to hook all 4 of them but I do also like if they had a fun game and fair. Let me know what's your thinking on this.
Dead by Daylight is by its very nature a competitive game (even if you play casually) as it pits 1 killer vs 4 survivors all fighting to either escape/kill or earn their "pip".
If you want to go for that 4 kill game then do it.
If you want to let everyone escape while you dance in the center of the map as Leatherface, do it.
Play this game however you want (aside from using exploits/cheats) and don't let anyone else ruin your enjoyment.
I let survivors go in some cases and I mercilessly hunt them down in others, to me it all depends on my goal that match and my whimsical mood.
The key thing to remember here is that you will find "toxic" people on both sides of this game who will try and ruin your day for their enjoyment. Ignore them and move on because despite the negative image this community has garnered there are PLENTY of great people who truly make this community worth investing time into.

Usually the only times I call a killer sweaty is:
- Coming in with a Black Ward (usually meaning they're running some crazy adds ons that's about to make the game miserable for me)
- Slugging for a 4k, especially when there's still like 4 or 5 gens still up and we've barely got anything done. You've already won at that point. Just hook the person and search for hatch when it spawns. Unless you get crappy RNG, your faster speed basically assures that the killer reaches it first anyway.
- Running an Ebony Mori AND Ultra Rare add ons together (Iri heads, one shot clown bottle, etc)
Slugging for the 4k depends on your rank. Sadly even if you are dominating as a killer and the last escapes via hatch because you didn't slug you can be hit with the "safety" pip. Killers are punished for risking one leaving in high ranks.

To preface, I understand that most of this is all marketing and mindgames in order to get you to buy more stuff.
I hate that the store constantly lists auric cell items as "10% off" despite that being their normal price all the time, I know that this is to indicate that its 10% less than the equivalent iridescent shard price but even items that are only available with auric cells list their price as 10% off, its not 10% off, its normal price.
Another massively annoying thing is that this new sale on the old hallowed blight skins are supposedly "25% off"!!!! but they're not, they're 15% off, because they're always 10% off. It feels super scummy and sly to say that they're 25% off. and I feel like there's some law against labeling something as on sale despite that being the actual price, something about false advertising.
Again, this isn't massive, just something that has been bothering me for a while and want to know if its bothering others.
EDIT: I now know that this is called Deceptive Pricing but can't be bothered to look if it's against any laws.
In retail (at least here in Canada) if something stays marked as "clearance" for 2 years the clearance price automatically has to become the new "regular" price.

360s are useless. I can't believe you have 900 hours and think 360s work. Are you a console player or something?
These two are easy to beat or run in a chase. You might get caught but you can waste a lot of their time.
If they force the chainsaw you can avoid them easy. It's harder if they use M1.
The wind up gives you a big opening to dodge. But you can't dodge in an open field. You need obstacles like trees to run them around. If they are good they can hit you but generally if you know what you're doing you can dodge the chainsaw for a long time.
The only thing that is OP is Billy's travel speed with us chainsaw. Not the chainsaw itself. Good Billy's and Leather faces use a mix of their M1 along with their chainsaw. Bad ones do nothing but chainsaw and are easy to deal with. You will sometimes get caught in a bad spot and go down, but if you are focused on looping you can avoid that.
Stealth players usually end in bad spots because stealth is an all or nothing thing. Looper make distance when they spot the killer so they can find a safe spot. Stealthers stick to their guns and try to avoid.
I wouldn't count "360s" out when trying to dodge a point blank chainsaw. If the option is run in a straight line at point blank or go for a 360 "jittery" movement ALWAYS take the 360 against a Billy chainsaw. If its a Leatherface chainsaw then yeah 360s hold no power and tight turning obstacles are your best bet.

I keep reading it all over the forums: "NOED is such a crutch perk because it rewards the killer for being bad", and I believe this can't be further from the truth.
You, as a killer, can play good and still have the 5 gens completed, specially if you're using low-tier characters.
NOED doesn't rewards the killer for playing bad, it penalizes bad survivor gameplay.
Another thing some people have been asking is for a totem counter on the HUD, this wouldn't just be a big nerf to NOED but also a buff to gens. Because if the counter reachs zero, no one will spend time searching for totems and they instead will do gens. And we have enough of gens speed complaints already right?
NOED is not a crutch perk nor an OP one, just cleanse the totems. :)
I agree and disagree.
While NOED has a clear and easy counter it can reward a bad/new killer.
I have had games (I play solo) where the killer was getting dominated with gens flying left and right. I think they managed 1 hook. Gates get powered NOED pops then he gets 3 slugs and I escape.
Did we do totems? No, and for that NOED procs that's fine, but did the killer show their performance or "play good" that game? No they didn't. NOED is the only reason they got a 3k in a game that we were easily outclassing the killer.
So do I think NOED is OP? Nope.
Do I think NOED rewards bad killers? Yes.
So I do not think NOED is a problem that needs some "nerf" but I'm also not blinded by the fact that it plays an instrumental part of why some "bad/less skilled" killers make it into mid ranks. In high ranks you typically have the totems destroyed and NOED becomes a very rare surprise.

@MemberBerry said:
And this can be simply done by removing collision during phasing, nothing else.
I don't think this will change anything at all.
1: Good Spirit players use their ears not collision.
2: Collision also lets the survivor know where the Spirit is for that DH play.
3: No collision means window blocking/pallet blocking (sometimes it would have resulted in a hit anyway but not always). Remember when Wraith had no cloak collision? "Race Car" build Wraith was changed for this exact reason!
4: Body-blocking your survivor teammate who was injured won't be as useful.
The only real benefit for survivors with no collision (that I can think of) would be "new Spirit players (who probably aren't great with phasing anyway) and Prayer beads gen grab (but honestly that add-on is going to be changed later anyway).
I feel Spirit is fine (aside from that Prayer add-on) and worry that people are getting on this "collision" train without thinking everything through.

It really is a different world.
People always say "play both so you can see both sides", there is some merit to that. I feel like I can understand some of the survivor rage a bit better. I can see firsthand how annoying camping is, how frustrating bad/selfish teammates are, and why certain killers suck to face.
It's interesting how my attitude changes. As killer, I am SO SICK OF LOOPING AND PALLETS. It's not fun to run in circles around waist-high obstacles or eat pallet after pallet after pallet. As survivor, I feel like a boss every time I loop the killer for more than a few seconds. My attitude about pallets goes from "I hate these and wish they were removed" to "TASTE THE WOOD!"
I also find it much more relaxing and enjoyable to play, for the most part. Doing gens and totems is downright peaceful compared to the stress of "must be hunting every moment, can't waste a single second". The most frustrating thing, honestly, is teammates who DC at the drop of a hat. Knowing the game will be that much harder, the dread of a slow attrition loss.
I also get why survivors hate NOED so much now. Escaping is worth so many BP, and survivor side is definitely short on those compared to killer (why?), so doing everything right, risking death multiple times to rescue teammates and do gens right under a killer's nose, just to be tagged and insta-downed right at the end is... pretty lame, I have to say.
I played about half a dozen games of survivor, solo, only escaped once. Still had a lot of fun, though. Rank 19-20.
Played 1 game of killer afterward. Stressful, annoying. First time I've ever DCed in a match. Rank 7. I have no desire to go back and play until rank reset. Even then, I'm not sure.
While I feel like I'm beginning to run out of steam for this game in general, I definitely had way more fun playing survivor than killer. I'm not ready to declare myself a survivor main just yet, but it's nice to be on the other side of the pallet for a change.
Anyone who got through the wall of text and has advice for a newbie survivor is welcome to share it. I've been playing David King so far, mostly for WGLF and Dead Hard.
Not sure if anyone answered your question about Bloodpoint discrepancy so here I go.
The reason Killers get more BP in a match compared to survivors is due to item/add-on economy.
A survivor can use perks to farm items and add-ons during a match and take them out of that match. Heck even without perks you can still do this in EVERY match.
The killer must always spend BP in a RNG Bloodweb to replenish their add-ons.
Due to this discrepancy killers are rewarded more BP so they can somewhat compete in the add-on market/upkeep.
