Just because something is picked a lot doesn't mean it's good.
To add on to this, most survivors who ran it did not use it efficiently.
SC has a powerful effect but is misused by so many.
-
Ima just bring Off the Record then if they're really planning on nerfing the stun. Heck, OTR has a longer duration too.
-
The Self-Care nerf makes CoH look more appealing.
I don't think SC needed that nerf.
-
DS's stun nerf was SO unnecessary. You might as well bring Off the Record now.
-
The DS stun nerf is so unnecessary.
-
Die.
Well to a nurse at least, Blights can be manageable... sometimes.
-
For killer (plague):
Overcharge, Call of Brine, Thanatophobia, and BBQ
For Survivor:
Sprint Burst, Off the Record, BT, and maybe Hope
-
@neb said:
Why in the world did they nerf the stun?? That's just incentivizing killers to go after the person that just DSed them.
The stun duration was the ONE thing that didn't need to be touched.
They could've at least added an extra effect to help the tunnel survivor like no scratch marks OR even better, multiple activations since it cant work at end-game now.
-
This could be monstrous on defensive plague builds. On top of the new Thanataphobia buff... SHEESH.
-
@Laluzi said:
It's basically DS, but can be used several times and has all the aggressive applications that BT does and the 'get out of jail free' card they evidently didn't like in DS. Meanwhile, actual DS is total garbage now.
In its announced state, OTR is the next gotta-have-it meta perk for sure.
Yeah pretty much.
Who knew a perk like this would reach this level of attention :)
-
My heart sank a lil bit seeing Self-Care getting nerfed.
It's not even as bad as people claim it to be.
-
Reminds me of my beloved Decisive Strike :)
-
"Let's buff calm spirit by reducing the action speeds! The players wouldn't mind"
-
They removed the distance aspect, right? Perhaps it'll be a lot easier to deal with :p
-
Agreed.
Oppression could probably see the light of day if its cooldown didn't take 500 years to re-activate.
-
A rework would suffice.
I don't think buffs alone would help the clunky nature of their power since they're incentivized to slug or camp really hard. Not to mention, very effective at doing so.

Idk if you where there but back then when they teased the temple map (just the under temple area) I was really excited but then after it came out that the temple is "just" the red forest I was really dissapointed. The temple could been such a cooler map imo.
I definitely was!
I thought we were about to get a full catacomb map.

Because not every map is Lerys?
There's a huge difference between playing against Nurse on a map with hundreds of little rooms to break line of sight in VS a map with a huge dead zone in between the only 4 tiles.
This.
Thank you.
-
Loading into Lery's is the only time I can stand facing a Nurse.
-
1) All-Kill:
The chapter's theme and chemistry between Yun-Jin & Trickster was well done. If only a map came with the chapter though.
2) Resident Evil:
Aside from its devastating launch, I liked the chapter. I really love playing on RPD and since I'm a RE fan, it's only natural that I like it.
3) Demise of the Faithful:
The theme of popularity, praise, and worship were well done and I liked it a lot. It also brought Head-On to the game so YAY! Miss Thicc was also a welcomed addition; representing certain body types.

I can't think of any new interesting perks either so I don't blame them
Here's a survivor I thought of. I thought his perks were pretty interesting for his background. I have A LOT more but his was cool IMO.
------------------------------------------------
New Survivor: Kiyo Takashi
Description:
A knowledgeable anthropologist who has studied rigorously in cultures notably ones involved with sacrificial and abstract practices which helps him study this unforsaken world.
His personal perks: Humane Divinity, Seance, and Hex: Metamorphosis give him enhanced insight of others’ actions and locations while performing practices derived from the beings of this bizarre world to exploit their own tools.
Perks:
Humane Divinity:
Your interest in others has influenced you to study and become close to other survivors at
the campfire.
At the start of the trial, all survivor’s auras are revealed to you for 40/50/60 seconds.
When any survivor loses a health state by any means, you see the aura of all survivors
you’ve interacted with via cooperative or altruistic action for 5 seconds.
“Please do tell. How is your life like living in these conditions?” -Kiyo
Seance:
Years of studying the historical actions of humans has sparked your curiosity of those
within this realm. You feel an intense connection when the presence of others have
passed.
When a survivor is hooked, the last object they interacted with has its aura revealed to you for 6/8/10 seconds in white.
When a survivor is sacrificed, all of the objects they touched are revealed to you
in a white aura for the remainder of the trial.
“Viewing the world from the lens of anthropology is truly a gift” -Kiyo
Hex: Metamorphosis:
You’ll do what it takes to better understand the entity even if it means practicing its
own terms.
While injured and cleansing a dull totem, press the ACTIVATE ABILITY BUTTON to
sacrifice pints of your blood causing the totem to ignite in flames creating a replica of a hex totem. In doing so, you suffer from the mangled status effect until healed.
This totem will be revealed to all survivors in a white aura and will automatically be snuffed after 20/25/30 seconds.
While the hex is active, the entity is caught off-guard and therefore becomes disoriented
by the unwelcomed and unstable force replicating its powers. All other hex totems will be
neutralized, preventing their effects from working until Hex: Metamorphosis is snuffed.
“It appears to be agitated from my actions. How marvelous!” -Kiyo
-
Replace it with the character portraits instead :p
-
Sums up what vs-ing the nurse looks like

I do like the core of your ideas but some of this stuff combos insanely with perks that already exist, approaching the realm of instant heals. This is DBD's core problem is they have already let the genie out of the bottle. As fun as "Heal 90% faster" is, it's completely busted on its own, let alone when you consider items+addons+other perks.
As an example taking a look at your first perk, Unhooking with Biomedical Analysis would be 25% + the survivor on hook running resurgence = instant 75% heal on unhook. 75% of 16 charges = 12 charges done with 4 left. You can basically unhook heal a survivor in 4 seconds base(1 C/S base heal speed), even faster with other perks + medkits.
I shudder to imagine the world where healing is amped up to this level. We already saw the problem with CoH providing a ridiculous boost to healing. There will be very large problems in the gameplay loop(that currently exists) if survivors gain the ability to insta heal/pop off hook fully healed.
Thank you. I actually try to think of perks that would have a fair shot at changing the meta.
Also, wouldn't "We'll Make It" be as good as my idea in terms of combining with Resurgence? Maybe it wouldn't be too bad since most players want more variety in the meta?
-
I like to write my own survivors and killers but I like to give them unique perks that aren't too similar to the current ones we have.
I'll copy and paste some of my favorites from my google docs:
(The first three are from the same survivor. She's a low morale scientist with a different view of the world)
Biomedical Analysis:
Years of toying with the science of medicine and anatomy has taught you a new way to
approach those about to endure your care.
Unhooking or rescuing a survivor from the ground instantly fills their health bar by
15/20/25%.
Affected survivors also gain the ability to self-heal at 50% speed for the next 30 seconds.
“Do you feel the strength running through your veins?” - Mira
Biotic Drainage:
You’ll let those who interfere be a test subject to your new innovations.
After stunning the killer by any means, your health bar is instantly healed by 30%.
Doing so also grants a token up to a maximum of 3/4/5. Each token in your possession
reduces your maximum health bar capacity by 2%.
If affected by the hemorrhaged status effect, health depletion will be halted for 30
seconds upon receiving health. This grace period resets whenever health is received.
“So this is what it feels like. How intriguing.” - Mira
Enigma:
You’ll demonstrate the true potential of your work.
After healing others for a total of one health state, press the
ACTIVATE ABILITY BUTTON while repairing a generator to transfuse the generator
into a bio-engineered medical station for 35/40/45 seconds.
Affected generators will be revealed in a yellow aura to all survivors and heal injured
survivors by 1% for every second they continue to work on it.
The effect will wear off if the generator is kicked by the killer.
“Tell me how this feels!” - Mira
Wanted:
Moving fast is important when you’re on the run!
Your vault speed is increased by 5%.
If you are the obsession, you receive a 1% haste status effect until you are no longer the obsession.
If you are the obsession, your aura is revealed to the killer for 5/4/3 seconds whenever you lose the killer during a chase.
Equipping the perk increases the chances of you becoming the obsession at the start of the trial.
“I hear the sirens! We have to go now!” - Derek
Knight in Shining Armor:
Your screams of pain encourage others to act fast and handle the situation accordingly.
When hooked by the killer, all other survivors heal 30% faster for 30 seconds.
Additionally, you are unhooked by others 30% faster.
Survivors who unhook you receive 50/75/100% more blood points for the
Safe Unhook scoring event.
The perk will not trigger if your scream of agony is silenced.
“We mustn't die by this beast! We mustn't be intimated!” - Princess Sonia

True. And they're sooo underwhelming, too!
I have 19-20 pages of charms, and most of them are super forgettable..!
I wish the game had an option to favourite/hide charms.. So many of them would go hidden so I would only see the good ones.
What tilts me the most are the charms that each rift has that are repeated 5 times from the basic form to iridescent form...
At least put those charms on the free track and not the premium track ughhhhh-
A filter for charms would be appreciated bc the only ones I rotate with are the Coco marsmallow, Yun-Jin chibi, Lunar lantern, and pride 2021

Agreed on the charms, especially on survivor.. They're hardly noticeable. On killer, they show up way bigger on the hooks so I don't mind them as much.. but on survivor? Eeehh.. (and to be honest I hardly bother equipping any on killer because it's so pointless)
I don't know any other game that emphasizes charms so hard unlike DBD lmao.
-
True.
I also wish the rifts offered more than just skins and charms. 95% of the charms they offer are so forgettable. I will always be an advocate for lobby customizations and loading screens.
-
I focus on the screen SO hard whenever Merciless Storm procs.
I haven't seen the perk in a while though.

To show you're dedicated to a character ig. Or just to use your bloodpoints.
mmm I'd rather have them focus on more impactful aspects of the game if that was the case.
-
They did say that we are able to prestige over level 3 now, but my only concern is... what will be the benefit in doing so? All of my survivors are maxed out already so what will I get in return by spending more BP on them?
I hope they make the new prestige mechanic meaningful.
-
I don't think DBD is a highly toxic environment.
It's just filled with people running the meta and crying when the other side brings a better meta.
Or people with a frail ego and want to "bully" a side because they shove their eyes on THOSE dbd youtube videos smh.

Ofc a swf will help their own but a swf isn't the norm in video games it's usually soloQ
Which is why the community has been asking for solo Q improvements but there hasn't been any changes for it
-
That just sounds like a solo Q issue. Those randoms don't represent the community.
-
lazy Bubba + basement hook = free gens
Simple math buddy.
-
Good.
I've faced a few PC Oni's recently that had INSANE flicks. I don't play Oni and I play on console so I'm not sure how his sensitivity is supposed to work, but he seems to be at a strong spot IMO.

seeing one for Sadako would have been so cool! :'(
I was DEVASTED when we didn't get one for All-Kill.
Just imagine in the finale of the spotlight, it shows the dead bodies of 3 random survivors in front of the Trickster but it shows Yun-Jin staring at him face to face from a distance while the camera zooms in at her pissed-off face... OOOOOOH I would've loved that so much.
-
I was glad too but I'm disappointed that we didn't get one for All-Kill through Sadako Rising.
I guess we still have those short clips of the characters doing the most basic game actions LMAO.
-
@nikodemo said:
I wish I could say the reverse. I try to be nice, play meme builds, and survs remain jerks, thinking they're awesome and won't even let me get my BBQ stacks.
Unless I play ruthless I can't get what I need out of the event.
Goes both ways tbh.
I don't get why people are surprised that events don't go smoothly. Most "event" matches are as sweaty as regular matches.

So true. Still not the most fun to face but at least I feel like I'm getting outplayed now.
Right!
Before it was like oh I run to the pallet *boom shot* or if I fake it *M1*
It felt like a lose-lose situation no matter what unless he missed so horribly.
Hated how he exerted so much pressure by simply existing.

The McClean patch. When they listened to the community and tweaked Spirit and penalized Gunslinger for ADS spam.
Who's next? Hm....
ADS spam was so annoying!
It was funny seeing people defend a 0.15 second ADS.
-
Really? I see Nemesis 24/7.
Down to help if you need anybody.
-
Vote Meg. I saw her near the basement with Dwight's body!
-
This overhaul will either open a chance for the game's health or shatter it to even more pieces. I'm hoping for the best.
-
The nature of their power is very punishing.
If you release Victor to chase someone and let's say they're smart enough to run away from Charlotte, several things:
1) You miss a lunge and proceed to be kicked, congrats you wasted a lot of time
2) You down someone but they have a buddy-buddy system, congrats you still wasted a lot of time for a down that's most likely not going to matter
3) You down someone by themselves, but you either slug because they're too far away or you waste time moving Charlotte to the survivor
^ Probably my biggest issues with Twins atm from a self-acclaimed Twins main on console :O

I made an in depth post about that too, but nothing ever gets any attention on these forums unless its pushing some bait. No wholesome posts get any kind of recognition outside cat pics smh
Same!
It would be cool if rifts offered more than just charms that 90% of players won't wear :p
-
Her perks are amazing especially Call of Brine :)
-
Perhaps a bad day?
If I play a good match and I know that I contributed really hard, I don't mind the TB, but if I had to face nurses, bleets, or whatever in a row before that one, then I may feel tilted. I don't mind GF that much though. I've always seen him as a meme-y killer.

wouldn't that make her not the most fun?
one sided games are boring for both sides, aren't they?
I find myself facing nurses, blights, and occasional face camping bubbas in the mix while having to deal with randoms so versing a pig on her map is a chance to de-stress unless it goes horribly wrong for some reason.
