So, correct me if I am wrong. Doesn't every survivor need to have the same sized hitbox? So, small Feng has the same hitbox as large David? Because if so, that would explain why the majority of times I see people post evidence of Huntress hatchets being unfair, they're playing Feng, Claudette, Mikaela, etc etc. I would assume the hitbox extends out past the model or something then, as Feng and David are not similar sizes visually. And that would mean you should probably go play a larger male character if you don't want to see "unfair" hatchet hits.
But I'm just theorizing on that.
Yes all survivors have the same hitbox regardless of the character they play

Don't mind me, I'm just going to assign "stereotypical British young adult female" to your voice in my head
I haven't read the blog post yet, but I'm not interested than I should be, heheh
It does actually make me think of the idea that we have in our heads about each other...cos when I am reading posts I do assign certain voices in my head to people, based on what they've said or if I've heard them on stream or something.
Plus certain spellings give away locations - colour/color for example, which helps with the accent. I had already picked out that @jesterkind was a fellow Brit (I'm Welsh though, so don't have an English accent).
-
Huntress for me, I enjoy playing against her a lot. Although I don't mind playing against most killers - although Trappers and Hags are my least favourite, random traps always get me.
Agree with those that said about HillBilly as well, he's definitely a close 2nd.
-
Yes the Shards are still being sent out. I do thank you all for the patience that you've shown in waiting, I understand the frustration about waiting for something. Hopefully this means that people here have got their shards now.

I have the same issue. Head on don't working with Jane Romero and Claudete. I will make a video to show.
Can you share a video of it please, I'm inclined to think that latency plays a part in the initial post plus that was quite some time ago. As someone who uses Head On constantly, I've not found an issue with it.

https://twitter.com/Level99Games/status/1498692827781505028Wow, that's been hard to keep in for almost a year! Since the middle of 2021, our team has been working tirelessly on "Project Crow", which we are excited to announce is Dead by Daylight™: The Board Game. The game will be coming to Kickstarter, and you can visit the KS page right now and click 'remind me' to be there o
The information is here for those that are not on Twitter.

That's actually a good point, especially as both specifically mentioning cleansing of totems.

It should be shown more to appreciate @Peanits drawing skills. :)

Maybe also consider context in my response.
The tweet still stands - it's completely reflects the standpoint of the team.
My comment which is what you're really having the issue with, was towards someone who said that criticism was giving in a constructive manner - which it clearly wasn't. And my point was that a designers private stream is not the place to give criticism or feedback as they are on the off time and are not working. We totally stand by the comments we made in that tweet and that is still our official position...nothing has changed.

I thought you can see it on steam on their ban record but good to hear toxicity is getting punished considering how rampant it is in this game.
If you report someone that's not on steam via ticket,do they still get banned even if you cant submit the offender id where it asks ID64 / Gamertag of the player you are reporting?
For chat offences, which is what this is referring to - an in-game report is sufficient. So it's pretty much only PC platforms that this applies to. {for clarity there, consoles have their own chat systems that's handled by their platform owner}
-
Yes they do get banned for it.
And how would you see a temporary ban? It doesn't show on profiles etc.

As I have advised on your previous posts on this subject, only a few days ago in fact. We're unable to assist you from here, unfortunately some tickets are delayed with Support and there is a delay in responding I'm afraid.

really? the post says she has a 32 meter lullaby radius and the changes state that her terror radius and the max visibility range while demanifested got reduced to 24 meters and nothing was said about lullaby range reducement
Yes really, sorry if that's not clear in the post...both of the values are 24m.

thanks for the video...see I had such a hard time trying to explain that noise lol

@sizzlingmario4 said:
Ngl I didn't know she had a lullaby until reading the changes to her. Never noticed anything on the PTB.
It was definitely there. It's just such a strange sound to try to describe, now that you are listening out for it (or at least when the Chapter releases), I'm sure you'll hear what I mean.
-
@razberrypizza said:
The section that discusses the terror radius reduction was a little confusing. Does this refer to her lullaby, or her actual terror radius while manifested
it refers to both.
Her lullaby and her terror radius will be 24m

There's a lullaby? What is it?
I can't say I heard any lullaby while playing or watching others play, so genuinely curious if their audio is bad, or if I'm becoming more deaf than I thought...
It's the eerie sound you hear when she's in the demanifested state...hard to describe it.
-
@Mr_K said:
It almost reads as a typo and they really meant lullaby. But thats just me.
it's not a typo, it's both the terror radius and lullaby.

Is this ptb change in ptb right now?
PTB is not currently active, it finished last Monday. So the first time you'll be able to test these changes is when the Chapter releases in March

@EntitySpawn said:
These are very good changes tbh, while she will still be weak at larger loops with full visibility shes certainly been made better.
My only wish was a slight burst of speed when first coming from a tv and demanifesting. (Very small % of course) that would of toned up the fear for me.
Now I just have to hope I see this killer in my MMR :(
She does get a speed boost when she comes out of the TV - do you mean an even bigger one?

soaking sore body parts in Epsom salt really helps with the pain. I was a construction electrician for a long time and it really saved my hands and feet when starting on new jobs after being off for a month or two between jobs. Best of luck to your feet.
I'd forgotten about Epsom salts! My other job is a fitness instructor and I have been known to take 6 classes back to back and yeah those days Epsom salts baths were so needed to help with the muscle pain that would happen.
Glad that even the cheaper shoes have helped somewhat @Huge_Bush even if they only last a little while, at least you can see what sort of shoe would be more beneficial by the shape of those ones. And great news about the diet...you seem really committed to a healthier lifestyle - I'm rooting for you. Just please remember it's a marathon not a sprint and don't try to do too much too soon, those diets tend to fail. It's all about healthier eating that's sustainable long term and changing your diet options (portion control also helps a lot). I will shut up now, as I can talk about this all day, just want to wish you the best of luck <3

As I've said, please do not expect DbD to be on the launch of Steamdeck.
Thank you @nikodemo I appreciate that you gave that in good will, but our developers are very much aware of what they need to do.
I've been very clear throughout this thread, that this is not something that's going to happen at the launch of Steamdeck. When we're ready to announce DbD for Steamdeck we will do it on our social channels prior to that date. Please keep your eyes there for this happening, but please do not expect this to happen that soon.

not hinting at anything at all

Looping is not an exploit, regardless of whether or not it was initially intended it's now something ingrained into the core design of the game.
Bloodlust was introduced to counter infinites in the maps, pretty much all of which now no longer exist.

Very basic concept but I think it'd be kinds cool if both the killer and survivor were the same person. Like their backstory is the same to a certain point and then one choice different causes them to go along two very separate paths and leads to one being a killer and the other a survivor. It could be like "Flight of the Butterfly" in reference to the Butterfly Effect, and would fit in well with the concept of multiverses as established through licenced content and the new Observer lore we've been getting.
Idk I just thought of this a couple years back and it popped back into my head, I think it'd be cool.
That's kind of interesting...kind of like the movie "Sliding Doors" where we see two different paths by the same person just for missing a train one time. The life of these two people (although the same person) went very differently.
It's an interesting concept, which of course now has me thinking of parallel universes.
-
As others have said, if you've not played Souls born games before I'd check out earlier games that are cheaper before investing your money into Elden Ring. The game looks incredible ngl but if it's not for you, it's not for you.
I love the style of these games and fought my way through Bloodborne, literally as I quit it for months out of frustration but committed to finishing it...I do not find these games easy, and they do require a lot of time investment. But they are definitely not for everyone.

Ticket response times can be dependent on the issue at hand. Currently with the auric cell issue as well as the Leatherface shards issue, wait times for more involved tickets can be a bit longer than we would like I'm afraid. I'm very sorry that you've had to wait but I can assure you that Support will get to your ticket and will offer assistance.

seems to be coming back online slowly though

Displays status of Steam client, Steam store, Steam community, Dota 2, TF2 and CSGO
looks like steam has been having issues for a little while
-
The reviews of it seem good so far...and it made me just buy it!
-
Two reasons
- They'd not closed their game since the Nurse was killswitched (unlikely given this amount of time)
- They were cheating - I do hope you reported them, in case
-
As long as the Survivor is not actively helping the killer - so not leading the killer to other survivors, not sandbagging the other survivors so they get caught, not blocking the hook to prevent a save by another survivor etc, then there's no issue as it's not directly working with the killer - the killer is just choosing to not chase/hook/kill that one player, they're not actually working together.
-
Please remember that Unsportsmanlike Behaviour is not to be promoted here on the forum so discussing why you DC due to an offering or claiming your "pc happened to crash" at that exact moment is most definitely against the forum rules here.

When will there be a stream where the developers will play the game for several hours? In my opinion, it would be a fun sight) And it would make developers reconsider their development vector and solutions.
Working on a game for 40 hours a week, then playing many hours in your free time is the fastest way to have a burn out.
Game designers understand game design, know how to design a game, know all the details that are needed to be able to design a game that people want to play. A designer doesn't necessarily have to be great playing that game to understand the mechanics of it and how to play the game or how it's played.
Many of us in the team play on our free time - not many of us stream it, I've streamed a few times but I don't enjoy streaming. And many that do stream do not even say they're developers because they'd rather enjoy their stream time without being constantly asked about their work - pretty understandable there.

Stats are something we rarely share, due to the way they're taken and the arguments that ensures.

I do not see it often, maybe 1 in 10 something like that (although I haven't counted exactly). However, I also do the bones as I'm going around the map so there is that to consider as well.
-
As @emodeshort said above, achievements do not carry from one platform to another - so you have no worries about your achievements unlocking at the same time...achievements are platform specific.

Ok that's my 3rd favourite game of all time so I respect that. A literal 10/10 game.
Did you not finish DS3?
I didn't even start it! I do own it, but still have not got around to playing it.
I will say time is a massive factor for me, I need to spend so much time on these games because I'm really not good at them, and I just don't have a large amount of free time

Not finishing a souls game is a sin 😥
I'd say watch the first few hours of the game and then decide. That's what I did before playing Detriot Become Human.
I finished Bloodborne, it may have taken me a long while but I did finish it
-
You are correct that the game does not distinguish between someone deliberately disconnecting and someone who intentionally does it and that's because it would be very easy to abuse if it did. Therefore there is no other option but to treat disconnects all the same way, which includes the disconnection penalty as well.
-
@AnneBonny said:
a certain someone who makes balancing decisions seems to include noed in a lot of their builds. take that how you will.
Just to clear this up, the Design Team has many sections and some work on Live balance, some work on perks, killers etc. But it's a team at the end of the day and working on that particular section doesn't mean that person makes the final decisions. There are people above them, Lead Game Designer, Design Director, Creative Director etc who have the final say on things.
-
I have concerns...I always get hyped and then get a bit disappointed when a game doesn't live up to my expectations (Dying Light 2 for example). I probably won't play Elden Ring at first - lets just say my completion rate with Souls born games are a bit on the low side :( But I will definitely be watching some streamers play it.
-
It's not just kill rates that decide whether or not a killer needs nerfs/buffs - notice I said killer not addons there, to avoid confusion. There are plenty of other factors that are taken into consideration.
It's pretty much agreed across the board that the Nurse is the strongest killer in the game, she's just not very "new player friendly" as she takes time to learn, which is what accounts for her kill rates being lower than other killers.
-
Dead Hard is not bugged - perks/characters/maps etc are only "killswitched" if there's an issue that's considered to be game breaking. Dead Hard is working as it was designed, therefore no need to disable it.
