This is them apologizing for the frustration and harm caused by Almo's dismissive comments regarding colour blindness.
However, we now know that BHVR's official position is that this tweet was just fine, and in fact, the people who complained were in the wrong. See the first paragraph of this comment:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2742393#Comment_2742393
Here we understand that BHVR had nothing to apologize for, and in fact the people who he said the comments to in the first place were just being unacceptably rude. This was in response to someone saying that people who raised concerns to BHVR, in this case about colourblindness, were treated poorly... I.E., were caused frustration or harm, as the apology tweet says. But the staff member seems to think that the only frustration and harm was that caused to Almo.
Will BHVR replace the outdated tweet with one more accurate to their current views? A suggestion:
'Recently viewers on the stream of developer Almo have been badgering him for accessibility options. This is not acceptable and very rude of them, and the culprits will have their cosmetics removed presently.'
I just want to make sure that their social media output does not give a false impression.
This incident was a year ago, just forget about it at this point.

God reading these comments. I'm so glad people here arnt in charge of balance. I've literally just read people complaining about C21, 33, adranaline vial(really ? you probably need to get a grip) Im 100 % convinced that people would nerf every killer in to the ground so every game is a guaranteed 4 man escape.
The only add on that possibly needs changed is alch ring. And thats debaitable. You need to HIT your rushes to get your tokens back. Which means you need some sort of skill to really get value out of it. With that said. Even if it just gave you maybe 2 tokens back. That would be ok.
Maybe instead of treat everyone like they are stupid you should try having a discussion, why dont these add ons need changed?
-
@landromat said:
Ring should recover 2 charges at max
Crow and rat gives you same amount of colldown penalty with each rush so you can't use them as often
Compound 21 rework. No aura reading please
Remove slowdown from iri add-on. Pallet breaking is enough
I feel like the iri should be reworked entirely. Whereas the insta down promotes skillful gameplay the other promotes the opposite.

This game is all about time efficiency, mostly generators/heals, as long as survivors can speed up those things tremendously by using things, I don't think killers finishing chase quickly with addons are a problem.
Lets get back on track and discuss blight addons please, this isnt a thread to talk about survivors vs killers.

But there is really nothing we can use as evaluator beside those things, BHVR would have some kind of "statistics" though.

I know, but both side has same timeframe.
Please elaborate

You don't compare killer addons to another killer addons, what they do fight is always survivors, thus you will compare it to survivor items and addons.
Addons should be equally strong as same rarity of survivor item/addons, and if you think this way, his addons are generally fine.
The game is asymmetrical, both sides are quite literally playing different games
-
@fulltonon said:
I don't think he actually need nerfs when you compare those to survivor items/addons like toolbox, medkit and... well not flashlight or key, maybe maps I don't know.
Toolboxes are balanced with the exception of bnp, and COH shafted medkits, I also have no idea what survivor items have to do with blight add ons

Both speed add-ons make it pretty impossible to react to flicks so I don't think they should stack.
C33 is fun but it's kinda nutty.
For the sake of balance i can agree with the speed add on thing, i would like for c33 to do something else, perhaps something that completely changes the character similar to adrenaline vial
-
@Pulsar said:
Alchemist's Ring.
Maybe C33.
Maybe don't let the two speed add-ons stack.
That's all I would change.
I want to agree on the speed addon thing but at the same time they are just way too fun to use from time to time, and I would probably agree on C33, as it makes you a worse player by using it.

I don't care if your favorite youtuber does it, it's a bad play to trade hooks unless it's endgame. Every third game is ruined by some overconfident pink-haired Nea that sabotages our chances at winning by unhooking in the killer's face and getting downed that second, giving the killer 1-2 free hooks. The point of trading hooks is traditionally to buy time at the end of the game when the killer is forced to camp. When you do it at 5 gens, the game's already over. You've given the killer a headstart.
I don't know who here needed to hear this, but judging by the fact that it's usually people decked out in cosmetics with hours under their belt, I figured there's a good chance of finding one here.
Its always funny when the people doing this accuse me of tunneling them.

MMR does not exist. They tell you that it exists, but it's proven it does not. I lost like 50 matches in a row as wraith (not going to tell how) and am still going against 3/4 dead hards. Tell me why at the supposed bottom of mmr there are so many dead hards?
Its a crutch for noobs, who are able to make it to higher mmr due to the horrible way it was executed

I sure hope not. Just feels odd having a children’s character in a horror game for mature audiences. I get that plenty of adults enjoy the franchise, but still feels odd to me.
We have trickster in the game, at this point i wouldnt be surprised at barney the purple dinosaur being the killer.

I kinda like him but whenever I try to play him these days I play againts survivors who know quite well how to loop him and it beecomes so tedious and unfun just running slowly around every big loop trying to down them. You will down people eventualy, but you will lose like 2 gens in a process. I don't know if I am bad with him but this makes me really not want to play him because all I do is just running around loops slowly catching up to Survivors (4+ loops on jungle gyms, shack can be even worse, etc.). Making it soooo boring and tedious.
It is only really fun when you catch someone in the open or in short / open loops where you just storm them. But this doesn't happen offten. Sometimes playing him is like a choore.
Hes like huntress but boring.

Toxicity is evident from people on both sides of the equation. Why do people do it? It's probably a sign of my age to say this, but a lot of people nowadays don't just understand the concept of good sportsmanship. For some people, being a graceful winner or a good sport when losing is a concept that's alien to them, which is a shame.
9/10 times ive seen toxicity on the survivor side, killer, not so much
-
@SleepyWillo said:
People BM in this game mainly because theyre insecure about their skill.
They arent very good to reliably "win" so when they eventually get a win, they BM. If they consistently "won" there wouldnt be a novelty and they probably wouldnt BM...
Basically anyone who tries to be toxic just shows how unskilled they are =/
It makes sense because survivor doesnt require much skill
-
@Pulsar said:
Let's not divide ourselves.
It's not toxic Survivors vs Killers or toxic Killers vs Survivors.
It's non-toxic people vs toxic people.
I shouldve worded it better, but most survivors that have won in my games tend to BM, meanwhile any game ive played as survivor plays out with no bm from the killer at all, its clear, in my experience at least, that it is mostly survivors who bm.

Chasing a survivor forever, refusing to break pallets for bloodlust, never mindgaming, just following.
And how exactly is that a problem? W meta is the most op thing in the game for survs, if killer wants to "w key" then let em, its a free win

So a few weeks ago if you used Dead Hard and died in the middle of it the game would refund your exhaustion like it never even happened at all. But now Dead Hard works even less of the time and the game now thinks you actually Dead Harded even though you somehow went down during the invincibility frames.
Are there any plans to fix this and what happened because it seems like pallets are really broken too.
I wish it didnt work, its a bs perk that needs a ground up rework

Not gonna go on a whole typing post but goodbye DBD. Finally uninstalled after 4 years. I loved DBD. Playing my favorite killers. Chasing survivors and scaring them. I mean it was amazing. Then second chance perks came. Then killer nerfs for no justifiably good reason. Now Almost every survivor is so toxic. Even tho they have the easiest role. Gen's fly at high rank and now high MMR. It's no fun for a survivor to Press E and "Outplay " me for distance. It's disgusting what the Dev's have done. I'll still look for updates and watch some streamers but I won't be playing. Thanks to anyone who read and agrees or doesn't. Happy hunting in the fog!

I see lots of discouraged killers and survivors say they can't stand constantly going up against the same handful of perks over and over again. That being the case, as a survivor main, I've been running builds that avoid items, exhaustion, gen progression and super healing, all in hopes that killers might have less of a super sweaty match. I was wondering how you guys feel about your opponents running off-meta loadouts? Do you think it lessens your frustration at all or makes the game more enjoyable for you? Or do you think I'm just putting myself in a disadvantageous position by purposefully avoiding the most useful perks?
I know when I have a match against a killer who camps and tunnels me, I have that urge to slap DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, etc, and screw the next killer that tries to touch me, but I don't wanna make anyone's match unpleasant. I get that I can play how I want to, but I'd rather play so everyone has fun, if I can help it. What do y'all think?
I actually get really bored of the game running meta, mostly because id prefer a match of skill, with perks helping a little, not just doing the job for me

They could always nerf speed to the original rework form

EU, currently 12:35 and I have been waiting searching for 20mins as killer.
What is the point in even playing if I have to wait this long? I clearly dont have high MMR iv hardly played the killer, and I certainly dont have low mmr because iv never lost as them...
Please say the devs are going to fix this?
Ive played 90% Pinhead and got to the point where it takes 10 mins for a match and it gave me lots of time to watch TV
-
@HollowsGrief said:
It's just at because it's a strong perk. Survivors always hate when killers have strong perk.
Its not even that good lol

@Clubs said:
First time using the forums in a while, but I wanted to bring attention to the devs a new way of playing Pinhead that was used against me and my friends. Keep in mind that while we aren't diehard survivor mains, we all probably come out to around 500 hours on survivor each, so we're not shabby.
The idea of the build is for Pinhead to run Hoarder and Franklin's Demise, along with addons that make the Lament Configuration take longer to solve. He plays the game like normal until he finds the survivor with the box using hoarder, then interrupts them from solving it using his addons and possessed chains. He will NOT teleport to it, which would cause the box to disappear. After interrupting the survivor, he hits them with franklin's, making them drop the box and allowing him to pick it up. He forcibly starts a chain hunt, then downs the survivor. The newly-started chain hunt FORCES the other players into picking up the box. Pinhead then goes to that survivor and begins the process anew. For good measure, he can also bring ruin and undying.
The problem with this build is that once pinhead gets a chain hunt going, survivors can no longer solve the box. Once they pick it up, chains will interrupt the solving process, giving Pinhead plenty of time to come over. Then he can just force survivors into multiple chain hunts over and over, until the game ends. I normally wouldn't post about a build that bothered me, but this felt like a special case. Usually when I lose to a gimmicky build as survivor, I understand that it was our fault for misplaying the situation. However, this build felt OPPRESSIVELY good; like, to the point where there was genuinely nothing we could do.
We couldn't do gens, we couldn't do totems, we couldn't heal. The chain hunts only ended when another survivor picked up the box, which would only last about 20 seconds before Pinhead was on top of them ready to start another hunt. I don't know how the devs could tweak this, but this build is something that should potentially be looked at. Maybe we just didn't have the right tools, or maybe it was a bad map for us (it wasn't, it was Crotus Prenn Asylum, which would've made him walk FAR to stop the box), but it was the first time a game of DBD has felt genuinely unwinnable. And mind you I have over 1200 hours so I've seen my fair share of bad situations.
Would you prefer slowdown perks in those 2 slots?
