  • I'm having this problem too. No undetectable addons or perks, the Hillbilly was running the Apex Muffler and engravings. I was in the middle of chase and hearing his heartbeat, but chainsaw is completely silent. I also observed him outside of chase, heard his TR but his chainsaw sprint was completely silent.

if you're making an entire thread based around the fact that you dislike one killer or survivor, it just doesn't seem like a healthy or productive activity. if you focus constantly on why it's so awful to play against one specific character, you're never gonna have fun because you'll always be angry about said character.

the way i see it, if you don't like a character THAT much, learn their perks, learn their builds, and learn what you can do to counter them! learn the popular playstyles of the killer and learn how most effectively to beat them!

if you're just complaining and saying "oh this killer is so awful and boring" it just kind of creates this weird space of negativity where everyone just dumps out stuff that really isn't productive.

and in the first place you could've spent more time just, i dunno, playing the game instead of complaining about something you don't like.

this isn't to say that you can't have complaints about characters or post about them, but at least keep an open mind and don't just instantly bash anything you don't like.

but on the OTHER hand, if you go in a killer hate thread or survivor hate thread guns blazing and acting like you're a victim because other people don't like something, you aren't creating helpful discource.

all you accomplish is fighting people on an internet forum, and making their hate of the character worse.

please, just use your brain on the internet. the rampant negativity is honestly really disheartening, please just try your best to enjoy things for once

    • your favorite least favorite killer main, dgbug

I don't really agree with what you're saying tbh. I'm not sure if this is in reference to the Legion hate thread that was recently posted, but feedback, even if it IS negative, is helpful to the devs. If they see that hordes of people are posting about how much they hate Legion because he's boring or unfun, it helps them to make meaningful changes that may make the killer better to play and play against.

And as far as playing the characters and learning them, it's not super necessary. For everyone hating on Legion, I don't think anyone is complaining that he's uncounterable or hard to face, it's more than he's boring and slows the game down drastically. You just constantly split up, run early and stay injured. It's not fun for a lot of people to constantly be mending all game, and it just feels like a slog.

There's gonna be a lot of people who just hate a killer because their power isn't fun to face, involves holding W, doesn't take any chase skill, etc., but that doesn't mean they don't know how to counter them, y'know?

Yes, I turn off my messages if it's getting particularly bad.

    I do usually stop playing.

I do not bother reporting. They're usually smart enough to know how to get around the systems.

Yeah, this is the kind of stuff I experience in my matches too, it’s horrible.

Have you considered deleting the game?

I do occasionally. Whenever I feel like the game is just really bad for my sanity or I’m fed up with the state of the game, I just uninstall it and reinstall after a few months. But I’ve invested a lot of time and money into the game, so I’m always really hesitant to just let it go yknow? DBD is an addiction for sure lol

  • @Mondhirsch said:

Why are so many people saying his power isn't designed to tunnel?

If you get infected and get tunneled off hook you'll be fully infected pretty soon again without you having a chance to Firstaid yourself. And with -7% Speed you'll be on Hook pretty soon again. So yeah, he's good at tunneling.

  • @Pulsar said:

I'd like an option to forfeit.

Count it as a 4K and give the Killer 15K BP. Let me go next.

That’d be a good option for sure. I don’t like the idea of forcing players into a match they don’t wanna be in, so I’d like to see something like that in the game.

  • This happened to me as well on Garden of Joy. At the beginning of the match, I teleported as soon as my power bar filled up, and when I teleported to a 3rd locker using my tokens, I got stuck in the third one until my power recharged and I was able to teleport another one normally.

  • They need to change the incapacitation effect duration, it's way too long for having no counterplay in solo queue beyond what, Repressed Alliance so the killer can't kick the gen in the first place? It is massively unfair that SWFs can just call out when they're about to go down and completely avoid the incapacitation, while solo queue just gets hit with being able to do nothing for 25 seconds multiple times through the match. It feels absolutely game breaking.

  • @Elcopollo said:

They are the cheapest items in the game, along with Common ones, so you really are saving a lot of BP by just buying them in Bloodweb, which is already a win in of itself. Plus, they're kinda like collectibles, which I personally wouldn't wanna lose.

I don't see how having piles of them in the inventory is a problem that needs solving. Especially given the fact that irrelevant Event items are stored at the very end.

Well, the way I’m looking at it isn’t about the fact that they’re cheap, it’s that you can’t use them after the event. And as a survivor with 570 Arcane Dowsing Rods on a single character, I could have had 570 brown medkits, but the game forced me to take the offerings that I can’t use anymore. I can use murky reagents, medkits, flashlight addons, etc., but I cant use Arcane Dowsing Rods. That’s over a million BP I could’ve spent on useable items and addons.

I get where you’re coming from though, and I know you’re not the only one who likes the souvenirs. I always keep at least 1 cake from every event lmao.

  • I didn’t like it. I thought it broke a lot of small elements of the game for me as a survivor. Listening to hear if a stealth killer was near was harder because of the void sounds coming off the generators. The placement of the rifts was often really bad, I would either have to wait a long time for them to spawn near me or I’d have to travel half across the map to try and close it - only for it to despawn in my face. The offerings were a waste of bloodpoints. I ended up with 530 of them on a single character, even though I used one almost every match. I was forced to spend over a million bloodpoints on something I’ll never get to use again. I would’ve rather spent it on stuff that I can actually use in my matches. I also despise limited time cosmetics because they promote FOMO, and that has no place in a game that isn’t free to play. The event was overall a HUGE miss for me.

  • Give her the ability to blink underground, and then make her get stuck there, rotting in the entity's realm forever.

  • I made a post about this same thing a little while ago. I now have 512 on my Cheryl alone, and I use them almost every single match (Though in this pic, I swapped to a BPS because my bf wanted to play with me). I have way too many, and I've been forced to spend far more than 1,000,000 bloodpoints on these offerings that I can't even use starting tomorrow. They should take them out of our inventory and compensate us according to how many we had. They can do this because they did exactly that with the Hawkins Lab offerings when they removed the map.

Maybe looking at the title could create a bit of controversy over nurse defenders and others, but to point it out:

Nurse is not the hardest killer anymore. (Hillbilly is IMO)

Only counterplay to her is when she makes a mistake.

Blink Attacks counting as Basic Attacks is BS. (because of perks that apply exposed and other things, for example: "Jolt" "Sloppy Butcher")

She is still S-tier for past 6 years. (I actually don't bother that)

I don't know if it's true but she's the second most picked killer in the game. (behind huntress)

If BHVR could take a notice at this (probably won't), maybe she would be balanced out, if there were some proper suggestions for her changes.

    What are your thoughts?

Hopefully they listen to the one trillion people begging for her to be nerfed, but I doubt it'll happen, all things considered.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3232797#Comment_3232797

But why now? Since the event started, I never have this problem, it's only today

I'm going to retry, so for the moment, i don't know

Idk, it's not consistent. It happens for some people, doesn't happen with others. It could be related to the event, it might not be. I'm just saying it's been pretty common and frequent since the event started. There's a bug report section and a tech support section you can make a post in if you wanna check

  • The game has been crashing a lot for many people ever since the event started. That's probably why the DC penalty was removed.

  • @Mandy said:

Are you getting a penalty when you're getting these crashes?

I am indeed getting penalties. I got up to a 15 minute ban before I stopped playing, I didn't want it going higher and higher. After 3 crashes, in my last match the game didn't even crash, it just froze completely before I had to force quit it with task manager. No audio, no movement, my computer was fine, but the game just hard froze.

  • I've had 3 crashes in less than an hour. I haven't had DBD crash on me in well over a year, and now the event starts, I suddenly get hard crashes like this. My DC penalty is going to keep getting higher and higher. It's ridiculous. They need to remove the penalty until they fix the issue. All the matches were over halfway through and I keep losing items, offerings, not getting any progression in my archives and I had full void energy both times and I didn't get any of the rewards.

  • I feel your pain, I made a post like this a long long time ago. I wanted to see a change where you get 1 killer and 1 survivor ritual per day, or the ability to choose if you want a killer or survivor ritual for that day. No matter how much they try to "incentivize playing the other side", there are people like me who hate playing killer and don't want to do their challenges. I doubt it'll ever be changed though.

  • Slugging is the lesser of evils in my solo queue nightmare. I'd rather more effective tunneling punishments and face camping restrictions and such, but I don't have many problems with a basekit Unbreakable. Maybe a couple changes?

Make it so Unbreakable doesn't recover you 100% quicker. Maybe 75% or 50%. Maybe play around with diminishing returns.

Pause Oni/Myers/Plague powers while they pick up a survivor and carry them to a hook and allow the timer to continue when the hook animation completes.

Twins can burn in the Entity's hell for all I care.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3194383#Comment_3194383

I just listed worse things in the game and that don't actually have real counterplay, because while the pig that doesn't have speed and no power to stop you from getting off the hook has to accompany you crouched all over the map with RBT after you've been saved from the hook to explode your head , Bubba won't even let you off the hook (there's no hook trade even with coordinated team), Nurse can both tunnel and pressure the generators, and Myers might as well wait for you to come off the hook and kill you with Judith's Tombstone.

Anyway, you have the right to think what you want from the pig, but its power is far from being something without any counterplay (hatch and generators) with these things I mentioned, and it still generates a positive scenario of 3 escapes most of the time.

The afk pig strat resulted in only 1 kill and also had no counterplay, just like what I'm describing, but BHVR added a box to prevent it from happening because it was unfair and unfun. This is the same thing except she's following you instead of camping a box and hoping it's the one you need. I really don't see how people can't realize this is a problem?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3194344#Comment_3194344

Maybe we see this different then.

But please stop saying "you can't escape his power" when you CLEARLY just said that you just put an object between you and him. Something that does not work vs Blight (on most small tiles), Huntress, Trickster, Slinger, Nemesis etc. Even a tree trunk can stop Wesker from using his power. There you go: counterplay! Use a tree! Or a barrel, tires! And don't forget that you can well stun him mid dash with a pallet. Or make him bounce or slide off it if the dropping animation is not 100% complete (something you can do as Legion btw. feels bad man). I've seen that a lot too.

And this is all I will say to you, because you are clearly the opinion that Wesker is op while Blight and Nurse still exist.

Maybe you want to nerf Pig instead.

I never said you can't escape his power, #########? I said if he ALREADY GRABS you, you can't escape when you're forced to run past him. Wesker isn't op, Blight and Nurse are op. Wesker just feels oppressive in multiple situations.

Idk what to tell you. If you can't read, I can't teach you how to do that.

if she is only doing this for Boop the Snoot , then this match will have a high chance of ending with 3 escapes, which is a positive, not a negative scenario for survivors, where she trolled herself or will see she is doing some quest.

ps: there's killers that doesn't even let you off the hook with the powers (doctor shocks) and much more unfair situations (bubba, PH, trickster, NURSE, etc)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3194340#Comment_3194340

    this

I’m not talking about stupid memes, I’m talking about people who just want to say “f—- you in particular” every match, guaranteed.

All killers have counterplay for face camping if you have a coordinated team, but I’m not even talking about getting face camped, I’m talking about being tunneled. At least with camping you can trade hooks. The camping Pig would do is only so she knows where you’re going the moment you get unhooked. She doesn’t have to hit you, down you, nothing. She just has to follow you and make sure you never get your trap off. You are dead if that happens.

I’m not saying pig is OP or that she needs nerfs, I’m saying a specific part of her power is highly abusable and because there’s no good way to fix it, just give her a total rework with an entirely different power that doesn’t allow her to screw over a survivor of her choosing with no counterplay.

Any killer can do that it isnt a special power that pig has, lol.

No other killer can do this. She downs you, puts a trap, trap activates after a gen. If she camps you and then follows you when you’re unhooked, even if the doors are open, you need to get the trap off or you die. For every other killer, you can body block, take hits, and leave through the door, but it doesn’t matter against pig. She will prevent you from taking off the trap, which prevents you from ever leaving unless your teammates all leave and you happen to find hatch.

LOS block is not an automatic dodge. It's just harder.

Maybe we undrestand something different when taking about juking and dodging.

So I clarify: You can still dodge Huntress, PiH, PyH, Slinger, Wesker or Demo by being unpredictable.

Just accept that you don't see counterplay vs Wesker when there truely IS counterplay against him. I've played as him and against him enough to know that.

I don’t see counterplay where you do. What you’re suggesting is an inconsistent, unreliable strategy. I don’t see that as counterplay. I see it as a last ditch effort that doesn’t work if the killer knows what they’re doing, Breaking LOS or putting an object between you and Wesker is the only reliable and consistent way of staying safe.

This is why no one can win in solo queue. Buddy, if you can't escape a Pig I have some bad news for you.

Did you read the last sentence where I say pig needs a total rework? I didn’t ask for a NERF. At no point did I ever say “PIG OP NEED NERF”. I’m saying if she puts a trap on you and follows you around in the match, you can NEVER ESCAPE. What exactly is fair about that?

Except if you're tunneling someone out of the game, you are playing optimally. Not optimal fun, but optimal chance of victory. It's why tunneling is so prevalent. It's effective and efficient.

However, that's not the main purpose Pig traps serve. Their job is to take a survivor out of the game for a while so you can focus on other players without gens flying.

Pig tunneling you to death with a trap on isn't that much different from Pig tunneling you to death period. Any killer can do it. Pig's not even the most effective because her chasing kit is pretty terrible and time in chase pauses the trap anyway - she'll waste the match hounding one person, when a Blight or a Nurse could speedrun killing you and move onto the next victim with days to spare.

But people aren’t using Pig traps the way they are meant to be used. I don’t see what I’m not making clear here. If a pig downs you and puts a trap on you, a gen gets done, if she wants you dead, all she has to do is follow you around and prevent you from getting the trap off. She’ll have to throw the match to do it, but I keep seeing pigs doing this in increasing numbers. There’s no counter to it. Your team escapes, but you die with absolutely no counterplay

Ring Drawing + heavily slugging to force condemns. I havent gotten great use from it personally but some swear by it.

I really don't get it. If you just make sure you're not wandering around with more than 3 stacks of Condemned, you should always be fine. There has to be something I'm missing if it's such a problem for people, especially with Unbreakable and self healing.

  • @Rulebreaker said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3193461#Comment_3193461

In fairness the iri videotape isnt that easy to counter, but I was just explaining the strategy as asked.

For elaboration, she slugs, and presumably someone heals the slug, who has a condemned bar which builds up as soon as the slug gets back up. teleport spam so they dont get to use the tvs to "clean" themselves. rinse and repeat till hearts give out, they get out, or they rage quit.

I appreciate the explanation for sure. Tbf, I accidentally flubbed the effect of the Video Tape too. It's getting a hit after manifesting, not projecting. Still not a very hard addon to counter. For me, I still don't really get how it's a problem. The issue with the Video Tape if that it only turns on the last 4 tv's that she herself teleported to if she hits someone after manifesting. So if you turn off tv's, even if she gets a hit, the addon doesn't turn on the tvs you turned off. And the whole slug situation is countered by unbreakable, exponential, adrenaline, soul guard, etc. it's only 1 stack of Condemned if you're healing someone from the ground.

  • @Rulebreaker said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3193436#Comment_3193436

I may be wrong but said spookie builds up the grudge bar slowly but surely while slugging people using the green add on where healing adds a bar (i forget the name) and either the purple one where everyone stats with a tape or the iridescent one that activates tvs. its actually funny every once and awhile but gets irritating after 5.

So the Ring Drawing which spreads Condemnation through healing, and either the Tape Editing Deck which makes survivors start with a tape, or the Iridescent Videotape which turns on the last 4 tvs Sadako teleported through, if she hits someone within 8 seconds of coming out of a TV.

These addons are pretty easy to counter, I'm not sure where any particular pain points around the addons are.

  • What Sadako slugging strategy are you talking about? I've never heard of that before and I play Sadako quite a bit when I play killer.

But bonus BPs do not show on the scoreboard, as far as I know

The white glyph bp bonuses do show on the score. I've been doing them.

  • You get 25,000 blood points for escaping with a White Glyph. You can get those from challenges in the archives.

  • @Loldino said:

You saw it here fokes people are honestly complaining about pig after the afk gimmick was removed

    I'm not taking your bait.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

Even if you get tunneled with a trap on, it isnt the optimal way to play Pig. You typically just use the traps for pressure, only going after people if they search nearby you so they have to waste their time going elsewhere and/or healing to search the same box again; this basically hinges on how good your teammates are as well as more or less how aware you are of your surroundings.

If you're camping and tunneling, you're not playing optimally in the first place, y'know? I'm just saying Pig has the potential to be one of the most toxic killers in the game because of the way her traps allow her to just tunnel you out of the game with zero counterplay besides "don't go down ever". Once you get that trap on your head, if the Pig decides she wants to throw the match to tunnel you out of the game and ensure you die, she can do it effortlessly by just following you. She doesnt ever even have to down you again to do it.

So.... You have a problem with Huntress, Slinger, Demo, Pinhead, Pyramid Head or Nemesis too? Because guess what: you dodge their abilities by juking so the killer misses their shot.

You dodge their abilities by breaking line of sight. That's the correct and consistent counterplay. Juking is a last resort that you only try when you're about to go down and can't break line of sight.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3189528#Comment_3189528

Zoning is the one thing he can do effectively with his power. Most loops are very safe vs him and you can dodge his dash easily since he doesn't have the same benefits of a Demo with his dash. Juking also works well on his 2nd dash because he only has 1 or 2s to react (unless he uses the Egg) to be pinpoint accurate.

    Wesker is OK. Nothing more.

If your answer to a killer's power is "juke them", that's the issue with the killer. Good killers don't fall for jukes that easily. I don't agree at all with what you're saying.

  • "Explore the Fog in style with exclusive Dead by Daylight cosmetics and offers, only for Prime members". The Plague outfit was featured in a rift for goodness sake. It's not exclusive if half the people who play the game already owned the skin before it even appeared in Prime Gaming. Then the bloodpoints? Really? Some people actually pay for Prime just to get these "exclusive cosmetics and offers". This just feels super disingenuous when you release old "exclusive" cosmetics and then graciously bestow a more than generous 400,000 bloodpoints as if we don't already get that in 4 killer matches.

  • He feels way too oppressive in a chase, especially when he zones you and then hits you with a grab that throws you in a direction where you're forced to run past him. It's impossible not to go down because you take so long to get up, his recovery is finished and he's hitting you again. And then I really also don't like how infections work. Especially if he wants to tunnel, you're toast. You're dead if you're fully infected, but if you spray, he gets free tracking. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

  • If Trickster made it into the game, so can Rick and Morty. Let's go, in and out, 20 minute adventure!

  • After Sadako released, I stopped playing the game until the day Project W released on the live servers. I played ~150 matches so far and my experiences have been far, FAR worse. I think another hiatus may be in my future, for sure. At least until they stop making the solo queue experience worse.

  • I really don't want to see FNAF or the Shining. I really hate both IP's

  • Never!!!!!!!!!! It used to be my favorite perk and now they nerfed it into the ground by giving it an effect it didnt need, and then tacking on an unreasonable drawback to compensate! I shall fight for my perk!

  • I don't like de-pipping just because the killer chooses not to play anymore. I will often finish the gens, cleanse a couple totems, open a chest, and hang out in the terror radius for a minute or two for the boldness points and then leave. Alas, I never face afk killers. Haven't seen one in about 7 months

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

They don't even need to revert it, they just need to ditch the speed penalty, and make the opening of chests and breaking of dull totems silent too.

I mean, I agree, but I doubt they'd give it yet ANOTHER effect without some kind of downside. If 1 perk does too many things without any drawbacks, that's bad game design. You don't want 1 perk doing like 6 different things, if that makes sense.

  • I wouldn’t go as far as to say killer was “overbuffed”. I think some killers like Nurse and Blight disproportionately benefitted from the buffs, for sure. I was hoping some of the stronger killers were brought more in line before buffing the rest of the cast, but that didn’t happen unfortunately.

My problem has been with solo queue specifically. I play solo exclusively, and in my matches I’ve seen a massive increase in tunneling and camping. Like, they don’t even try to go for the unhooker at all, and the base kit BT doesn’t seem to help all that much. They all run Save the Best for Last since it got kinda buffed by extension, and I’ve been seeing A LOT of Deadlock lately too. It’s a far tougher meta for sure. Because I can’t communicate with my teammates in any meaningful way, it’s hard to try to make plays to save people or get the gens done in time. Most of my matches end with 3 people dead and a hatch escape if the killer doesn’t slug for the 4K.

I definitely think killers NEEDED a buff, but I also think solo queue needs one too now. Desperately.

  • @Slaughterhouse3 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3185587#Comment_3185587

That might be tough without gutting the perk. Depending on how it is all coded of course.

Well it’s just a Doctor specific interaction that would need tweaking, that’s all. No nerf needed. In fact, I think it needs a buff in general. Since it’s only once per gen, I think something like a 20% regression for failing/leaving and then blocking for 30 seconds would be justified.
