I quite like him. Just had some way to port to one of his torment paths every 40 seconds to get across the map and he'd be perfect. Walking across a giant map is painful.
His gameplay is already very similar to Demogorgon's. You use his ranged attack to challenge vaults and pallets like Demogorgon can, just better.

You sir may be on to something. If we act like all the killers suck the devs might stop nerfing them. They only rework them if they feel they are doing well :P
Not true, look at Legion.

Don't think so since The Oni is 9000 Shards.
In any case, I actually tried playing The Oni. His Power does not work 75% of the time, very fun!
Also: Perks sell way more than Killers do.
Whacha mean doesnt work?
-
I actually like PH. I mostly just use his ranged attack when survivors are either stuck in a vault animation or at a spot too narrow to dodge left or right, such as at pallet spawns. You just put down the sword to challenge a window, and if they DONT vault it...M1 them.

Yes they do. I just consider that freddie's power will help him sooner than myers.
Thats fine, you can say other powers help more...but to claim Myers power doesnt help AT ALL is silly.
-
Just got finished with a game without monitor. Asked the survivors afterwards and one of em said there was infact a TR, but it seemed smaller than normal.
-
The wait times would end up spiking from the game trying to find a killer thats not on any of the 4 survivor's ban lists. A 4 man SWF for example could end up basicly halving the killer roster by banning 8 killers if each of em can do 2 each.

I dunno, been playing Slinger lately and people seem to clearly react when I'm at a certain distance, even if they can't visually detect me.
Maybe it's just inconsistent, like so many other sound bugs.
In any case, if it's legit, I bet it gets fixed so fast your head will spin. Can't have sound bugs favoring killers.

Yeah with all that listed you could go round and get all the totoms but that's focusing totoms with your entire character, I run either gen fixer or healer builds so would disrupt my entire style of play for one hex 😕
Thats a list of choices, you dont have to equip them ALL. Just using 1 of those things is fine.

Again, I mentioned this and acknowledged that there was an incentive to buy via iri shards. But splinters are not new, either. They used to be in-game, but have since stopped showing. This is only to make the archives more accessible, this game can already be money-hungry enough with cosmetics. And with how slow earning iri shards is, you expect people to predict and unlock 1-4 characters and their unique perks over the course of a single tome? Sounds intimidating for new players. That's literally half the reason I meet people and they don't play past a few hours, the grind in this game for every aspect.
If we're really pulling hairs here on whats expected from new players, so far every archive has involved free characters. The first only had 2 characters, both free. The second had David King as one of the 4 (Doctor is included on console) and the most recent had Huntress and Dwight. There's only a handful of challenges that actually need the specific characters with none of them actually blocking off challenges that DONT require those characters, making it still quite easy to complete the rift and the only thing your really missing out on is the lore bits that are easily accessible by just checking youtube or the wiki.
-
Every character for the archive is characters you can unlock via iri shards, they did it that way for a reason. As for the perks required for the archive challenges, they also intentionally put the required perks in the shrine of secrets while the rift is still up.
-
Wow... This is BS. I want a refund on every auric cell ive ever spent on LF cosmetics IMMEDIATELY.

So if you have a question let me know... Good Luck
Just curious, did you manage to get the rift challenge done where you needed 15 hatchet hits?

Honestly if people have such an issue with tunneling, theres a REALLY easy solution. You just break demogorgon's tunnels, then he cant tunnel anymore.

Usually with Huntress you're going to get genrushed if you can't end chases quickly. Her strength is just ratcheting up the pressure on survivors so that survivors don't have time to focus on gens. Otherwise her mobility is so low that you're probably going to have a bad time when survivors are really pushing.
One thing that helped me with Huntress is just being more patient with my hatchets. It's usually worth charging her hatchets up all the way because that makes them fly way faster and more accurately. I used to have the bad habit of throwing half-charged hatchets and had survivors constantly dodging them. This actually helps you keep pressure up on survivors hugely, because the second survivors know you can hit them at range they're forced to be more careful in chases and when traversing the map.
As for perks, I don't have a lot of meta perks on my Huntress because I don't have Clown unlocked and have had bad bloodweb luck this prestige, but I like running Monitor & Abuse. Her lullaby is 40m and her terror radius with M&A is 16m. Because of how small that TR is, survivors are forced to start playing more cautiously than they normally would when she's in humming range. For all they know you could be 17m away, and that's too close for comfort if you've proven you can hit your hatchets.
As for when to give up chases, I'm not an expert, but generally I just don't even bother dealing with strong tiles I can't easily throw over. For example, the god basement on Haddonfield. You can try to mindgame, but you're probably just going to end up wasting a ton of time in that loop. Another example is the room above the bathroom on The Game. There are usually at least two pallets and a vault in there and it's not easy to hit hatchets over the obstacles. Plus, it's in the corner of the map so you give up a lot of pressure on gens.
One final thing I like to do with Huntress is to occasionally throw long-range hatchets at gens when I go to reload. Every once in a while you'll get a hit, but even if you just get close I find that has a psychological effect on the survivors. It might make them think that you're coming and step off the gen for a bit, or it might at least make them respect you a bit more when moving around the map. It wastes a little bit of time to make that throw, so I usually only do it when I have reason to believe survivors are on a gen and there are no obstacles in the way that would block the hatchet.
Monitor puts her TR to 12, not 16

@metalklok said:

lets say you get a perfect game and get 32000 plus the bbq stacks thats 64000 then the beast of prey points which is 4000 that adds up to 68000 points. Im not positve because i haven't played in a while but im pretty sure you need to kill people to get the 32000 because of the sacrifice points
BBQ and WGLF are the only perks in the game that allows you to pass the 32k BP limit. Perks like beast of prey or distressing only act to help reach the 8k BP limit for that particular category faster. If you play a perfect game and get 32k BPs, BBQ or WGLF will turn that into 64k BPs and no perks you run after that can possibly make it any higher.

Nothing about these add-ons compliments Billy's power at all.
Not having OP add-ons doesn't mean the add-ons have to be absolute garbage.
Seriously, they basically made speed limiter a freaking iridescent add-on. Instantly sawing through pallets is so incredibly niche, I think the bonus blood points are universally more useful.
I guess it's still better than Nurse's purple add-on which makes her a 115% M1 killer for a minute. Literally an add-on that makes you a powerless killer. Very useful. /s
If theyre gonna make useless addons, they should at LEAST make em fun. Maybe have an addon that replaces the yell Billy now does with the battlecry from Xena Warrior Princess.

Exactly. He may be the weakest killer in the game. He has a lot of gimmick builds that are fun to play, but none of them are OP.
Did anyone claim any of his builds were OP? I feel like theres a disconnect here where someone is claiming he is a balanced killer, but since hes NOT OP, you think he must be weak.

I can get 2 kills with him without problems too. Doesn't make him a good killer, he has nothing that helps in a chase and thus is bad. Playing against him is even easier compared to trapper.
His smaller TR in EW 2 allows for sneaky hits alot of the time if you can ensure theres LOS blockers between you and your target as you approach. He also has his faster vault speed and once he hits T3 he has his boosted lunge range. These are all things that DO help in chase.

Just remember, all the killer mains here swore over and over again that Billy was balanced due to the basekit timings of his chainsaw.....even though nobody used Basekit Billy. Now they’re upset that his add ons dont affect the charge time, cooldown or curves of his chainsaw anymore.
Proves how disingenuous they were being and how they really played Billy.
If basekit Billy was “the most balanced killer” then what’s the issue with the new add ons?
Because they hit basekit billy too...

Let's not forget the "4k and De-Pip" threads on here when people run around with an instant-down and an ebony mori and cry about it.
You dont have to go THAT far.
If not for the fact that 5 gens were still up, I couldve just as well been in that same boat. This is a 4k 5 gen safety pip with no mori.
-
Pip stands for "Point In Progress".
In this screen you can see that I need 5 more "pips" in order to rank up to the next rank, and on the bar it shows little notches to indicate how well I have to do to earn a pip.
-
@Nos37 said:
Either the adept killer or the adept survivor should be changed. They are not equal.
The adept survivor achievement requires merely ecaping with only the 3 teachable perks, while the adept killer requires killing all 4 survivors.
Since the devs had stated that 2 survivors escaping and 2 survivors dying is the balance they are striving for, the fact that the killer has to go above and beyond by getting a 4k for their adept means that the survivors should also have to go above and beyond and escape without being downed. If not, then the killer should only have to get 2 kills for adept.
The requirement isnt to get a 4k, its to double pip. You can get a 4k and SAFETY pip.

This is why I rarely remove Dark Devotion & Infectious Fright on her. Even rank 1’s get sick to death of constantly being caught out while broken and downed due to these 2 perks and always start cleansing well around 3 to 2 gens left.
I run nemesis+pwyf on her so you either deal with a super fast killer that can 1 shot ya with an M1, or you start cleansing.

Can't wait to see how that ######### up killers aura reading perks. Seen some people complaining on the PTB feedback section.
I havent tried any out yet on the killer side, but I can tell that ALL auras are kinda weird. My totem aura for example is also thinner, so it took me abit to see it on the other side of the map when I spawned in.
-
I've noticed that too. They seem to have changed the auras and made them alot thinner for some reason. I usually play with bond and it was instantly noticeable. You can also see the aura around things even when you have clear LOS on them, so any teammate that ran up to help me on a gen was outlined in yellow for me due to my bond.
-
It depends on your rank. Its alot easier to double pip at brown ranks than red for example.
-

@LordGlint yes, it's happening to a lot of people...I put a message on the forum to notify people of the issue. It is being looked into.
Thanks for the heads up. Any word on why you cant swap killers in the Lobby on the PTB btw? It blocks out the option as soon as you hit rdy on THIS screen.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Will have to disagree. Weak killers are not a good thing.
Everything should be consistently strong and fun. Notice how I said "and fun". Slapping cooldown on killer after killer is not fun and it's lazy balancing if it can even be called that (I would sooner call it 'catering').
Next, Huntress will only be able to hold her hatchets for ten seconds before she's forced to throw them and then she sprains her wrist so she has to wait 18 seconds to recover before she can throw another one again or some dumb ######### like that.
Think of the cool animations and sound effects we would get though of Huntress massaging her arm while waiting out that cooldown. Those axes are HEAVY.
-
I feel like they should just have all perks unlocked on the PTB rather than mirroring your progress on the live version. Makes it really hard to test new content when you first have to start from scratch with perk builds. The only downside of this is you wouldnt be able to test lower versions of perks for bugs that could occur with the lvl 1 or 2 versions rather than lvl 3.
-
It can be abit rough on your chaser emblem if they dont cleanse, but pressure em enough and they'll come around to it.
-
F... Fortunately he wasnt one of the killers I played very often

I've been playing Billy since 2017 but okay then. I don't play with add ons and I don't play like aids either. Curving and Feathering are still there and that's all I care about. If you're holding your chainsaw all the time you're already playing Billy wrong.
I'm glad this is happening too, just like with Nurse it'll purge all the boosted Killers. Good Nurse's still kill everyone and good Billy's will do the same.
Did you try him out on the PTB yet?
-
Just watched that clip and 2 things...
- Tru3 forgot what addons he has on. He said "this is hard, I'm having to tap it at specific times" when he doesnt have to tap anything with tuning guide.
- I'm pretty sure thats a glitch. Its giving him MORE than the max amount each time he lands a hit.

To be fair i like the Idea of giving killers add-ons based of their perks. It is way more flavorfull and better then having 50% of their add-ons: when you downed a survivor with the chainsaw apply the exhaustion effect for 90 seconds or hemorrhage.
The add-ons arent that good but still better then giving these ######### status effect.
Exhaustion from a chainsaw would be pointless since your likely to hook the person after downing them and exhaustion goes away instantly after being unhooked.

That was when using a specific perk combo. The PTB version is even better. My first game I kept my normal loadout but never actually got around to collecting PWYF stacks because of how much more freely you use his saw. You're REALLY free to cut loose on it way more.

I just imagine if a survivor is running to a window would I rather the new Bubba or the old Bubba with PWYF. Hopefully I'm wrong since Bubba is my main.
Still the new. Like I said before, the saw is fast enough that often times you can get a saw faster than you can get an M1. If your ever in a situation where old Bubba with PWYF could land a saw on someone, chances are new Bubba can do it WITHOUT PWYF.

We'll see. I personally think they want you to use his chainsaw like pigs ambush which for me isn't the best way to play him. I haven't played him yet but when I can I'll see how it feels to me.
The saw is similar to the dash at loops, with the major difference being you travel more distance with the saw so theres really no need to mindgame simple pallet loops. Just run in a circle and they either feed you a pallet to instantly destroy with the saw, or get sawed down. The ONLY grievances I have with him atm is you have to time your button presses to keep using tokens on a single sprint instead of just holding the button, and the saw continues to heat up when its revving down. If you charge it up, then change your mind to wanna put it away...its really easy to accidentally start a tantrum and lose all your tokens.
