Thanks for the feedback.. i see the benefit of them unlocking universally for the points spent now.. I do hope it doesent alter anything i already have in place though.. we'll see i guess.

I play on xbox series x with an ethernet cable connected to my modem and the top tier internet package.. maybe if i turn crossplay off? I dont have any connectivity issues on other games.. hmm. If it is on my end id love to know what the issue is so i can try to fix it. I appreciate the suggestions and advice, thank you all :)

Im not trying to be negative.. dbd is one of my favorite games ever.. i just cant figure out why this happens. Id imagine if it was me it would count as a dc and id lose my item and get no points.. it started happening a few days ago after not happening in a long time.. maybe the mmr change? I dont know. Just hope it chills long enough for me to have a few normal matches so it can revert to just a 5 min lockout xd

Why don't all the haters on this thread go look at what Scott Jund just posted one hour ago, long after I even started this. Maybe you all think I'm trash cause I'm nobody or whatever, maybe a pro level player talking about the same thing will mean something to you. Thank you to the few who feel me on this.

It does apply to you.
You have shown repeatedly that you don't think you should have to do anything to actually troubleshoot and repair the issue causing you to disconnect. Your frequent disconnections, caused by an issue with your setup that you don't want to fix, make games worse for those you play with. That's literally why the penalty exists.

So your saying that even though I've been a hard-core console gamer since I got my coleco vision 2 bit piece of crap in 1980, I somehow cannot possibly understand how a multi-player game should flow or work. I've beaten more games than the months that make up your life.. never have I *ever... run into a video game that straight bans you when your playing properly outside of dead by daylight. Next time you want to flex, save it for someone it will actually impress dude.

A rule that I can't avoid no less, its forced upon me no matter how well I play.. and tbh it seems to apply a lot more frequently when I am doing well. Go figure.

Yall know coconuts? The thing I'm talking about happened to him on stream recently.. same exact thing. I'm not alone in this and not just him, this happens to my friends too. Its all just swept conveniently under the rug by ppl it doesn't happen often too. Well I'm sick of being banned from queue for doing nothing wrong and whether you've experienced it or not its a real thing that needs to be fixed.

Then you will have to do some actual troubleshooting of your setup. Whining about the penalty won't make your game work. There isn't a massive wave of dbd server outages, and no reported connection issues with the Xbox series x, so the issue is in your environment. You want someone to hand you the perfect solution, but that's not how anything in life works.
True... I feel like I'm at the end of my options though.. like what *more* can I do? I'm at the high end of whats available to me.. so with that in mind, do you find it fair that I just get disconnected while legitvtryingvto play the game and I need to just *accept* that as part of dbd life? Like "hey your doing well but now we're just going to randomly kick you in the nuts with a ban for no real applicable reason on your part.. were good right? Can you not see how that frustrates the ######### out of me?

I'm sorry, I'd just like to play this for one day without it slapping my face. Everyone has comments but I never get a solution. I was typing an appreciation for what you said earlier but I guess I took too long.

In all actuality if they turned the penalty off id never have to worry about it again considering i don't play in any such ways that would cause a survivor to dc in the first place, I play survivor too and avoid doing the things that aren't cool. Love to see how yall will hate on me now.. but its dbd community so I'm sure someone will find a way right?

For all the other defenders of this DC penalty with all your *explanations.. tell me this: why is it when I got this last matchmaking ban because clearly according to all of you it must be my internet.. why was my wife who works from home on the same internet able to not drop the call she was on when it happened? Why is it when we check our service flow there are no breaks? Why does legit everything else in the house that uses internet experience no interruptions at all? But it can't possibly be the game screwing up, right?

Not sure who your friends are but it doesn't matter how *often you dc, you get the penalty any time regardless. So maybe you and your friends just play once and a while.. I play this pretty much every day for 5 years and I've seen this unfair dc too many times to keep count bro.

Well I'm happy for you, and thousands of others feel the same.. but there are also thousands of others who this happens to on a regular basis.. be happy your not one of them.. I mean, what else can I do to fix this!? I have an Xbox x series connected to my fiber optic internet with an eternity cable... there isn't even a higher upgrade to our internet.. we pay the price for the best available but.. nope! Guess I need something that doesn't exist yet to handle a 5 year old game right? When legit none of my other games act a fool like this? Wake up.

Like there are legit dbd streamers pointing out the same exact thing on camera.. do you think they just have a junk connection? I highly doubt it.

Yes yes, I understand fully why its in place and I agree fully. There is absolutely zero wrong with my internet, trust me when I say this. There is something else wrong with the system. I will not continue to just accept these unfair bans. Why is everyone so cool with this? If I was disconnecting cause I'm just an ass then I wouldn't be here reaching out for solace..

Yeah so I decided to turn crossplay back on to cut down wait time and what do you know!? First game I play i get a dude picking himself up off the ground every time I down him then paused in place when I actually get to pick him up then rubber band lagged all over the place while I'm near him untill I get disconnected but I guess i deserve another matchmaking ban for it right?

Like how would you feel if you spent 4 years at college and earned your degree then 5 years later they decide to just let the public buy that degree without doing the work? Would you not feel upset? Cheated even? Would it not devalue your degree? I believe it would.

I don't think its elitist or petty at all. I used to like wearing my 2017 fire rooster shirt once in awhile even though its crazy bright, and when id see another survivor wearing it I'd know they had also been around since that time and its a little slice of happy nostalgia.. like an unspoken comraderie.. then they gave it to everyone. I don't care about the money aspect I care that these items felt special because you had to be there at the time to earn them. Dressing like a skater doesn't make you a skater.

As killer ill knock them down and let the survivors farm points healing them.. works every time since everyone knows the match is thrown from the gate.. a match with an afk t re am member isn't a real match and I never treat it as such. As survivor I just get as many points as I can but always stand in front of the killer for a couple mins taking screens hots and whatnot, on the off chance they come back... everyone likes points after all right? I'll die willingly in a situation like this cause as before.. its not a real match.

This isn't new, although it did seem to go away for awhile. I'm on a ban for no reason also.. again. When you dc on purpose, you receive zero points, but not when this happens! Yay i get the points i earned and keep my item.. even counts as an escape.. but wait! Here comes a nice matchmaking lockout for no reason because apparently they can't possibly figure out a way to distinguish a random disconnect from an intended disconnect.. well maybe if your being awarded your points it should know you didn't mean it.. I mean, it knows when you do it intentionally enough to deny you any points before it implements the ban right?

Caught one idiot t bagging and pointing at my buddy the extreme other side of the map and had the nerve to send me a ######### message after the match not knowing I was watching him the whole time.. when I called him on it, he blocked me xd

Actually nm, the 6th time was the charm I guess xd, I get it now. Here's something to chew on.. we have stun killer challenges x times in one match.. or even total across however many matches.. why does a flashlight "STUN" no longer apply to these challenges?

There wont be that much more unusual challenges. DBD-players want it as easy as possible, so they complained about the Challenges in Tome 1, when it takes them more than 1 game to complete them.
So we will have more Challenges which are like "Break 25 Pallets/Generators" or "Repair 15 Generators" and stuff like that. Because those are easy enough for the standard-DBD-player.
But because the Challenges should not be done in 2 hours, they need to be grindy. So yeah, thanks to the players who are not willing to go out of their way (or their Perk Build) for more than 1 game, we have those super-grindy and boring Challenges.
I've read this 5 times but I'm still unsure of the meaning..can you elaborate a bit more?

I prefered the single challenge ones that required certain perks to the "earn 5 devout emblems in silver" ones as they were more involved.
I'd like to see some more unusual ones, such as completing the gen in the main building; find a glowing cell batch in the arena or even taking a hit yourself whilst saving a survivor off the hook in the endgame collapse. Killers are a bit trickier for variety, but maybe defending the main building gen or discover some lore within the realm.
I know there are better suggestions, but I think either more things need to be added to the trials (even as a one off, such as those red thingies), or even allow a set amount of trials to use perks that player may not have to complete a challenge using it.
Tome one dark senses was the hardest one for me.. took me over a year of randomly trying it before I got lucky xd

in the instances it happened, the matches ended for everyone.. on the tally screen all survivors got points but the killer got zero.. I also kept my item and it counted as an escape.. but I get a penalty. Which led me to mssge the other random survivors to find that they also received the penalty.. which led me to post here hoping to find if others have experienced this, cause it sucks. Still love dbd though regardless.

My problem isn't with the penalties intention, my problem is wanting to play the game and being unfairly punished for it because somebody else's something went wrong. Here I am doing a gen and oops, killer left the match for whatever reason, looks like I deserve this matchmaking ban for 15 minutes.. defend that if you can defenders, but its not right.

It may not even be you friend, I've been having the same issue with penalties that aren't my fault, just now first match of the day I got a matchmaking lockout while doing a generator.. all survivors got points, killer got none, I even kept my medkit but clearly I deserve this penalty right? I have a similar post to this and nobody has answers. My other games don't drop me, my X series is wired to my modem.. there's something more applying these penalties other than just what can be accounted to your end.

And how does it account for the other survivors also receiving the penalty for the same match? Is my internet screwing over randos I've never met? I highly doubt it.

I don't want it removed, I understand its purpose, but it should be able to differentiate between a counciously executed disco and an accidental drop.

This just happened to me this morning.. was set up for the Dwight perk escape but had ace perk escape active XD, not hard challenges, but a hard facepalm moment lol.
