You cant really tell much by the video since they failed to show the most important part when adding a cooldown...which is the cooldown itself. Depending on how fast the bar drops when the saw isnt in use will determine how much this'll effect things.

Yeah but I want to be able to arc into jungle gyms to hit people after bbq and if I don't practice that then the only crossmaps I can get are in open areas which are no fun
If you have a target in a jungle gym, thats not something your going to be able to hit.. You cant throw the hatchets up enough to have em pass over the wall but still hit a target down below. Waist high wreckage and cars are one thing, but junglegym walls are another.

I can't tell if this was meant to be a joke or not. I know alot of people joking suggest horrendous nerfs to be tongue and cheek.

No I use nurses and bbq and bitter murmur so I can have info at all times to try and learn the angles
still, unless I have LOS I dont typically yeet hatchets. Its too easy for them to snag on the hitboxes of branches and such.

I feel like the latest survey questions are fishing for responses to something like this🤔 so i'm all for it 🤟
If its telling you the world's count, it could be very misleading though. You'd see a large number, when your area could have a tiny amount of players playing.
-
That would be nice to give ya a rough estimate on what your wait-time will be like. It wont really be too accurate though due to different countries and such. Should the game tell ya about players on the other side of the world?
-
When I was goin for my 15+ meter challenge, I kept aiming for long shots since I didnt wanna get unlucky and hit 14.5 meters or something. Wasnt even really too concerned with gens, just with nailing shots. Found out I could hit shots that before I wouldnt have even tried for and ended up puttin fear in the survivors because they knew as long as I had LOS... they were in danger. Feel like this improved my Huntress game overall because after that...I started tryin for those long shots.
-
You could make the same argument for any stealth killer. Just because his TR when combined with monitor is small, doesnt mean its a problem. He still requires LOS on you to shoot you and hes rather large. If he has LOS on you to make the shot, you clearly have LOS on him too. Frankly if you get shot at 18 meters because you didnt see him, you deserve to be shot. Just means you werent paying attention.

You referring to cosmetics?

I'd find it to become more and more stale, and SWF can use a tactic of assigning a designated savior who uses BT, making most if not all of the saves & being saved triggers it too, so the other 3 Survivors free up a Perk slot, or at least exclude a strong Perk from being equipped.
I typically dont go out of my way to hit the unhooker in cases like that anyways, unless its easy to do so (like if they ran out in the open or right at me...yeah, ill take the free hit).
-
@Boss said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1419172#Comment_1419172
Yeah i know that now.
Honestly it doesnt sound like a bad idea to me. I could see more people swapping out DS for BT on their loadouts to prevent getting tunneled. As a killer who already plays around both but still gets annoyed by a 59 second DS when I find someone on a gen...I'd welcome that, lol.
-
@Boss said:

Not lying, i miswrote that.
I did mean those who are weaker against BT, my bad.
From what i understand is that you can potentially make both players invulnerable during 1 unhook.
Sounds like a buff to all Survivor players, solo & SWF, to me.
In fact, SWF could assign a specific Survivor or specific Survivors to run BT, one who would mainly do the unhooking & then unhooking them also activates it, and the remaining Survivors can then have a free spot for another Perk.
It's not a buff only to solos as far as you present the idea.
OP was never claiming both people should receive the effect of BT. The idea was if your on the hook and you yourself have BT as a perk, you would receive the effect even if the unhooker doesnt have it equiped. This would be an addition to the effect BT already has.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I'm having trouble understanding your post OP. Are you saying that the person running it gets the Endurance buff when they get unhooked? Because that would be a good idea, being able to protect yourself from greedy Survivors is always a good thing.
It would kinda be like how Kindred is. Kindred has an effect both when its user is hooked and when the user's teammates are hooked. He's suggesting making it so if a BT user unhooks someone, they get the usual effect like we have now, but if a BT user gets unhooked by a teammate who doesnt have BT, the unhooked BT user would then get to benefit from their own perk.
-
@CrowFoxy said:
No.
BT used to activate for both parties when it was used, and was beyond broken. If they do this, they bring back the grey screen and bleedout time that you had to heal away with self care or a medkit. (Or another person of course.)
I feel like you misunderstood the original post. The OP isnt asking for both parties to be protected by BT.
-
Alot of UR's arnt exactly in small supply, its just a matter of if theyre useful enough to use and not feel too OP to be cheap. Iri heads on Huntress pop up so often that you could use them every single game if ya wanted to. People DONT use em though because it just kinda ruins the game. Doc's addons are kinda the nice middle ground where theyre useful but not super OP, so ppl dont feel bad bout using em.

I don't need to post anything i made my point very clear those killers have no counters in chase outside of themselves being bad and missing and thats why its OP , at best what a survivor can do is maybe some erratic movement but it only helps slighty and most of the time it will actually help the killer gain distance on the survivor so its a double edge sword tactic that mostly works in their favors

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1414071#Comment_1414071
range plays almost never matters in high rank and are more see as BM trolling unviable plays , huntresses never try to snipe people and most of time will only use her hatchets to get them at a loop when the survivor drop a pallet or vault a window or try to get very close to combo them , the effective range of good huntresses player is very similar and close to the effective range of pyramid head
I've made PLENTY of shots much further than 8 meters as Huntress, which is PH's range. It's not BM in the least to hit someone 20+ meters away. The fact that you CAN beam someone at such range means the mindgame starts alot sooner. I'll hold a hatchet up for abit and make em sweat, whereas you cant really do that as PH. The cooldown of PH's ranged attack means you arnt going to immediately get the next hit, while the cooldown on a hatchet throw is half the reason why she can get the 2nd hit so quickly.
-
@anarchy753 said:
I see Pyramid Head more akin to the Huntress than Deathslinger. Mostly because of the fact that all points on strength on the map become points where you're in a fixed animation to take a hit because you can't turn fast enough. At least Deathslinger can't hit you through a dropped pallet.
Biggest difference is that Pyramid Head seems to suffer almost no slowdown or drawback to winding up his power where Huntress does, and she's also a slower killer in general.
PH has a much smaller range though. While he might be faster than Huntress, if your aim is good with those hatchets...you can beam someone from far away without having to close much distance.
-
Ive had karma moments myself. I remember downing the last survivor, just for the hatch to pop up really close by. I walked over to the hatch and let them crawl close to it, just to slam it in their face. Well...they had adrenaline and I didnt notice the key in their hand til they were already jumpin through hatch right infront of me. We all got a good laugh about it afterwards.

Saw a post the other day on a DBD facebook page in which someone was showing the endgame screen on a match with like 4 event cakes. The person scored a 4k using a half-assed Legion build with afew lvl 1 and 2 perks in there. The comments section was filled with insults on how the guy doesnt have to play like such an ######### when people are using cakes and such. I can understand if you wanna get annoyed at people playing Bubba to facecamp every hook when cakes are played or if a Wraith goes invis all game to troll and cause people to not get any points from the match... But this was just a case of someone playing well. Apparently according to the comments section, they shouldve let them fix gens for awhile and all that.

I agree with you guys for the most part, but this can work at its best on a killer like Oni, that's why this build is so popular on him. He has mobility using his Demon Dash, and can much more easily target survivors, there's no denying in that. But is it really worth it on Bubba? He doesn't have any kind of mobility, and if you spot a survivor 32+ meters away thanks to IF, they will be long gone, because Leatherface is just a 4.6 ms killer.
I created this build to work around what Bubba can do best, and that is punishing Survivors who stick together/or close enough to get them both down using 1 chainsaw run. I totally understand that this could just be a waste of perk slots, but I still feel that it could be a decent build imo. I am not really fully convinced yet that this build could work until the PTB drops and all I can do now is try creating fun builds to test.
Crippling infectious fright isnt helping you though. If a target is too far away for you to chase, having the information on their location isnt a BAD thing. You always have the choice of if you want to chase another target or not.
-
Im gonna have to agree with everyone else here. All reducing your TR is gonna do is show you less information. You can still get those same double hits with a larger TR. If anything, I'd suggest using monitor instead of furtive so you can approach a target and get closer before they start running, then get notifications at 40 meters if anyone is within THAT range.

Same can apply to perks as well. Killer perks are held to a standard that survivor perks just aren't. Most killer perks have a cost, requirement, cooldown, limitation, etc or multiple at once. None of those standards apply to most the meta survivor perks.
Like look at all the second chance survivor perks like DS, BT or Unbreakable for example. All game swinging effects with no cost or downside, no requirement, zero skill needed, etc etc. You just equip them and do everything just as normally as you always would, no change.
Both sides have perks with cooldowns and all that. While you have killer perks like surge that are cooldown, you also have survivor perks like Sprint burst with similar cooldowns. You brought up DS, which is a 1 time use perk thats activated under certain conditions, but you could say the same of perks like Haunted Ground. You have perks which just give a flat bonus, like botany knowledge or sloppy butcher. You also have perks that work off a token system like STBFL or autodidact.
This isnt saying that every perk is balanced or anything, just that both sides have perks with every kind of activation method/downside.

The ponytail came with her base outfit iirc, which also came with an ugly triple braid(that clips a ton on it's own btw). Almost every hairstyle since is a side shave or masculine looking hairstyle. Besides you know it's not like I could say the words I would really call those hairstyles because feelings. The only really decent hairstyle she has is Fortune Teller.
As for Legion, while that's true for killer cosmetics, the mask could have easily been tied to the hood that came with it. It makes the mask itself quite less valuable to me.
I generally stick with the default Legion mask since the majority of the value comes with the 2nd slot. You get the hood, hair, ect. Now though I have the one from the rift and the event ones, so might swap it up.

the only problem with this if if cosmetic sets are UNcreative an d can be split apart without clipping issues.
See the legion sets.
Killers in general vary on which cosmetic spot is for which body part. On Plague, the first spot is for just her crown while her face is apart of the 2nd spot. With Legion, the first spot is for the mask with things like hair and hood being part of the 2nd spot. Then you get killers like Billy who's first spot is for their entire top half. You kinda get left with a weird predicament.

I do. New add-ons, new music, new perks, it’s gonna be a whole different experience! The cooldown can’t possibly be that bad, not as bad as Nurse’s. I’ll be honest with you, the cooldown is completely unnecessary and probably gonna happen less than you encounter Plague mains.
The perk changes are irreverent to the killer. If they buffed ruin, do you think that would result in an increase of Hag mains? You might make the argument that people who dont have the perks already might lvl up Billy, but other than that...the perks have nothing to do with Billys usage.

Legion has an outfit that has a hood on the body piece(really pisses me off because I wanted the hood to be attached to the mask). To be fair hair doesn't really stick up with them the way it does with Nea, but they could make the hood slightly higher and sort of drape over rather than hug her forehead, or make her not wear the hood. Personally to me the outfit is ugly anyways and I wouldn't have gotten it regardless.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1410262#Comment_1410262
Nea with a ponytail? No she'll just get 20 more side shaves just like Meg.
Meg actually has alot of different hair styles, including a pony tail so not sure why ya made that statement. As far as the Legion thing, killer cosmetics are kinda mixed on which pieces theyre tied to. If you look at Plague's cosmetics, you'll see that her "head" pieces only affect her crowns while not doing anything at all for her face, while Billy's "head" cosmetics affect everything from the waste up.

The long hair would not create issues, the hair is purposely pulled forward for it NOT to clip and the option of simply counting the hood as part of the head would completely remove that issue. I don't see what you're getting at with the Feng hoodie if it's not the tassels, it looks fine to me. If the devs DID go with the whole "2 positions" idea it wouldn't be difficult, it's a minor change that would keep the cosmetic the same; and when the change is that basic, I would think that they'd be able to do so (especially seeing as it costs $10).
having 2 positions ISNT keeping the cosmetic the same though. Doing a color swap is a smaller change than what your suggesting. Having a seperate model with the hood down would be the equal as making an entirely new cosmetic. As far as the Nea hair thing, we can argue whether specific hair styles would be problamatic, but it still leaves room for problems in general. Although she might not CURRENTLY have a ponytail for example, does that mean we should act as if she'll NEVER get one. Or that characters that DO have ponytails or similar hairstyles with long hair in the back should be excluded from getting hood cosmetics in the future. I'm not saying ALL cosmetics should be lumped, just the ones that we're stuck with trying to figure out how this could TECHNICALLY work.
-
@Dehitay said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1410167#Comment_1410167
The problem with that logic is you have the option of wearing everything together to avoid clipping. There's nothing put in place that would screw up your styling preferences by having the cosmetic pieces separate.
The reverse however is quite the opposite. Those who want to wear pieces separately and can do so without clipping being an issue with them by all logic should be able to do so. But this makes that impossible with this cosmetic and quite likely a number to come. I'm willing to bet $100 that pieces of this set could be used separately with other cosmetics to make some really neat outfits if it was possible, but now we'll never be able to see.
I'm gonna reiterate just so were clear on what I said and you let me know if you STILL have a problem with my logic. Cosmetics outfits who's individual pieces would result in obvious clipping if mix and matched SHOULD be tied together. An example being if theres a hood it would look really weird with Feng's pony tail to be sticking out the back.
If theres NOT an issue like that however, I feel like it SHOULDNT be tied together, such as in the picture I posted above with one of Cheryl's outfits.
Theres really no reason why any part of this would have any issues with any outfit combo. Surely you could swap on a different T shirt and it should look just fine.

But the Nea head doesn't have those tassels, plus Nea's has a clear division line that could make it easy to separate; or alternatively you could go with the third option where all other heads (if they don't want to put the work in to check each of her heads) would just take the hood off and put it by her neck.
Plus Nea has no ponytails, the most she has is hats, which could again be easily worked around if the hood counted as a part of the head or if it came off when another headpiece is equipped.
Nea DOES have cosmetics with long hair. Might not be pony tails, but it would have the same issue.
You also cant expect the devs to create 2 versions of the same cosmetic, one worn up vs worn down.
My comments about Feng's hood btw wasnt so much about the tassels but the white cloth in front. Its pretty gravity defying at the bottom since its SUPPOSE to be joining with the rest of the outfit there. Since its not, this looks very odd.

You could separate Alyssa's dress, it lines up with her other shirts and there is a perfect division line at the belt. As for the nea cosmetic, you could do one of three things:
1) Make the hair the only part of the head, meaning that you could still have the hood up and swap it out for whatever head piece you want.
2) Pull a Bunny Feng and make the hood its own separate piece (which it already looks like it's separate).
3) Simply make the hoodie be pulled down and just rest at the neck, or alternatively, have the hoodie down only for cosmetics that would clip too much.
They really could have easily made any cosmetic so far into 3 pieces, they just refuse to do so.
You COULDNT use other hair with this hood due to clipping. Alternate hair with this hood would clip straight through it. You'd have a ponytail sticking out the back.
As for the hood being a stand alone cosmetic like Bunny Feng... I'd argue it shouldnt even be a thing for Bunny Feng.
The ends of this that SHOULD connect with the rest of the outfit looks like its defying gravity and just looks bad.

Yeah, but that'd be a rare instance; all the cosmetics that they've forced into sets could EASILY be separated into 3 pieces (even Lisa, although I'd be Ok with her staying a set due to her being a different character). But oh well their loss, I just won't buy these cosmetics if I can't customize them.
I'm gonna disagree with that. While its true many could be broken apart...
This is a dress... I could understand the hair being seperate, but the dress itself needs to be able to cover the top and the bottom.
This is the new Nea cosmetic and the problem HERE is the jacket has a hood. That jacket is interacting with both the head and the top of her torso. While you MAY be able to make the claim that she should be able to mix and match a different pair of pants in, swapping out the head here would either result in no hood (which would be weird) or hair sticking out through the back of the hood.

This is a huge NO. This means that the killer will always catch a survivor on a loop, even if the killer doesn’t deserve to.
This interferes with Deep Wound too, it would make Legion unstoppable.
For reference, Survivors move at 4 m/s, while walking I believe they move 3.8m/s or less, which is the same as Nurse. Nurse would not be punished for not using her power.
If the survivors couldn’t Sprint, that would also mean that they couldn’t perform medium or fast vaults, which also means that they can get grabbed even if they are healthy while slow vaulting.
Everything about this idea is no.
Im PRETTY sure @SpaceCoconut was bein abit cheeky with this suggestion and didnt ACTUALLY think it should be a thing. Its more to make a statement about how dumb tying everything to cooldowns are.

Yeah, agree 100%, removing customization is one of the dumbest things they've done.
I could understand SOME outfits requiring multiple cosmetic spots depending on the piece. If you had a dress for example, that would take up the top and bottom. I could see that using 2 slots with you free to pick the hair of your choice.

Sure, more specific stats would be great. Can we draw reasonable conclusions from the facts we have? Of course we can.
With how jacked up matchmaking is in general, that data is HORRIBLE for drawing conclusions from. If the matchmaker worked as intended, a rank 1 survivor could bring in 3 rank 20 teammates and the killer theyre SUPPOSE to go against is a rank 1. Its not hard to guess what the result of that match would be. This is assuming it worked as intended even.
In matches where matchmaking ISNT working correctly...we get this.
or this
From these 2 games we can't really draw reasonable conclusions on how many kills red rank killers get, or how many escapes red rank survivors get.

This, trappers play style is based around defending an area. Sorry survivors, setting traps up so far away that you can reach the trapped survivor is just dumb.
But salty survivors will call ylu a camper because to them if you don’t literally run to the far end of the map you’re camping. Even if you see someone crouching behind a rock waiting to unhook you HAVE to leave or it’s camping.
i once hooked someone in basement, came up and grabbed someone out of the locker (explosion) and got called a camper
Was watching a streamer once who ran into the main building and stepped in the 1 trap the Trapper had placed so far. Trapper came, put him in basement and because the Trapper had the audacity to reset the trap the streamer stepped in...he started telling everyone that the killer is camping.
-
I've heard this alot and my answer...you have it backwards. Leatherface mains don't camp any extra. People who want to camp pick the best killer for camping.

So what if I find just only one survivor and hit him with my FF while other survivors are not in my terror radius? I will suffer from 4 seconds fatique and then I need to chase him as m1 killer, or if I will decide to go to farthest gen where 2-3 survivors are working on the gen I will loose a lot of my time. I will lose a lot of my time in both situations. If I find 3-4 survivors close to each other, you right, I can give them hits, but if I find 3-4 survivors close to each other as bubba - I can just chansaw one of them(since it would be a lot easier in the future) and have a lot more pressure.
In the example you gave of finding only 1 survivor, your right. You would get the hit, identify that theres no other survivors where your at and continue a chase with that survivor until you see someone else. The moment you spot another survivor, you should swap chase to FF THAT survivor and hopefully ping off from there. Thats how you apply map pressure. The example you gave is the worst case scenerio for Legion, yet it STILL provides valuable tracking, which is a tool Bubba doesnt have at all. By knowing where survivors are NOT, I can very easily deduce where survivors ARE. Once again though, I'm not trying to debate that Legion is better than Bubba or Bubba is better than Legion. I play BOTH killers. They both have strengths and weaknesses over eachother.

BBQ aura reading and this is kinda apples and oranges though. BBQ aura reading lets ya know where to go for your next chase, so thats useful info to have OUTSIDE of a chase. THIS aura reading is something you're likely gonna be using INSIDE of a chase to mindgame a jungle gym or something. Break LOS and smack someone from an angle they were anticipating.

True...ngl I kinda completely forgot about that part, lol. As someone who knows the value of I'm all ears, this could be very nice.

The changes to Lightborn and Franklin's demise both sound really intriguing! Especially Franklin's demise. The threat of losing any item brought into a match is enough to make any swf team sweat! 😄
Feel like the lightborn buff was kinda pointless since its so easy to avoid getting blinded with current lightborn anyway. The change to Franklins though is intriguing in that its now ACTUALLY a counter to keys rather than just an inconvenience. Current Franklins just made ppl have to go get their key later on in which they'd still be able to use it for hatch no matter how many charges got lost. THIS Franklins though gives the possibility of removing the key from the trial completely.

I like how the devs even said they nerfed gearhead so it has a counterplay and yet this new lightborn has 0 coutnerplay besides dropping the flashlight for a new item
Not going for a flashlight blind IS the counter. Various things killers have are going to deny survivor actions. It needs counters if those survivor actions are required ones, but flashlight blinding is never required, its a bonus. Mad grit for example counters the survivor action of bodyblocking, in which the counter to mad grit is...dont body block.
