Don't worry about it too much, some people feel entitled to a rescue because they either feel they are too good to of been caught or feel they deserve a save. I'm a survivor main with ttv in my name but I basically invented humble pie, don't get me wrong I can get as mad as the next person at a bad game but don't blame anyone and sometimes even want to be left so others can escape. I like to try get the team out not just myself so if I die I can take it much easier then some people lol.

@cluedup_survivor1988 Ok. I commented earlier, but I feel that with a bit of reasoning we can make sense out of this. Let's look at the term bodyblocking, which has two meanings/interpretations. The first is when a killer chooses to stand in place or move to an area that prevents a survivor from moving around or doing anything. In this situation, the killer is taking the game hostage for this 1 survivor, and the only way they can do anything is if they dc or the killer moves. For example, if a survivor hides in a corner, and a killer walks up and finds them, but rather than hitting them, just stands there. This is bannable, as it is intentionally ruining the experience of another playing and doesn't allow them to play. Now let's look at the other interpretation. This other meaning is that a killer or survivor tactically gets in the way of their opponent to prevent them from accessing something, whether that be a pallet, window, hook, etc. The opponent can still move, but they are prevented from utilizing this interactable object that is being blocked. There are simple solutions to this; for killer, just injure the player body blocking (even though it's less than ideal, but that's kind of the point of the strategy), and if the killer bodyblocks something, you will have to run somewhere else for resources to use. I understand that this can be frusturating, but it is a genuine tactic which isn't bannable, or even considered very toxic. Hope this helps make a distinction.
Ok thank you for your reasoning I get where you are coming from I just feel that doing that creates an unfair system that only the killer can take advantage of as hooks are approachable from 180 degree angles and nothing else is blockable without getting hit, I appreciate your time explaining though and makes a difference from aggressive defensive shut downs.

Any slight sliver of credibility your posts could have go right out the window with the phrase "The Wraith is pretty strong ".
Well I can do well with him and don't rely on iridescent add one to do so, I could even play with no add one and still win so what am I missing here?

Why does it matter if he downs you? And if he overtook you, shouldn't he have gotten the hit anyway?
I was on a pallet so no not if he didn't body block, not saying he shouldn't get a hit but if he didn't block he wouldn't of got it mega early twice.

To body-block as a Killer you have to stand in one particular place, and can't move from it. Are you not losing time that could have been spent walking towards the Survivor? A trade of time for a hit?
Not if he over took me last minute and used that to down me, he saved time if anything and got a down in the process.

Ranks mean nothing, everyone can be a rank 1 survivor sadly, even terrible survivors.
That's not possible because you have to do the relevant actions to do so, admittedly you get red ranks who make bad decisions but can't be terrible by principal of doing what's needed to rank up.

"C'mon bro, why are you not letting me pallet stun you? Im entitled to run to a pallet and stun you without you trying to intercept me." I love the forums sometimes
Not at all you just avoid it, it's called "going round" or "leaving distance" between you and the survivor and most Normal killers do that. If you get hit everytime as a killer I feel bad for you.

The Wraith got points for hitting you. Just like a Survivor body-blocking to take a protection hit. Both used Collision to score points. How can one be reportable and the other isn't?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1791537#Comment_1791537
I like the argumentative challenge. It's also fun if their stance isn't well thought-out.
Protection hits aren't body blocking because you are trading time for an injury, not one person is solely gaining from it like body blocking.

Go ahead. Won't do a thing. Judging by your logic, BM should be bannable. It doesn't help them win, it doesn't get them points. Your logic is flawed and biased. Bye.
It very much helps them win especially in the case I just had so my proof is in the experience, he done it both times and it got me downed much quicker then if he didn't. It's desperate gameplay at best and virtually cheating at worst.

i was gonna say something totally different when i read the title that nothing has to do with what you said, being that said only 2 words can be said, git gud. if u are having problems with wraith you are the problem not the second/third worst killer in the game.
I'm a red rank survivor so that's the least of my worries, killers need to "git gud" as you say and play properly.

And isn't body-blocking an intended mechanic given you can take Protection hits?
Do you think it's a reportable offense for a Survivor to be repairing a one-man Generator that you want to be on? They're abusing their collision to prevent you from using it, right?
...
The stance has always been the following: Using collision to prevent the eventual conclusion of a match is reportable. Utilizing collision otherwise is fine.
No because that player is completing an intended objective to win and regardless as to who doesn't it that will not change the result. Body blocking does.

A screenshot from the official DbD site. All it took me was a quick google search.
I'm just gonna leave this there, then never touch this topic again.
Better ask them to remove body blocking off their repot options then because until they do I'm reporting it each time.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I think it's about as sensible as reporting someone for Unhooking a Survivor. You Hooked that Survivor fair and square, it's unsporting to try and get them off the Hook.
No because that's an intended mechanic, you get points for doing that so a bit of a pointless comparison. If you got points for doing it fair enough but it's a reportable action and you don't get points for it.

Nope, not "toxic" not "sweaty" not any of the idiotic terms people throw around. It is just a game tactic and totally valid.
Why is it reportable then if it's a legal tactic? You might say taking the game hostage or sandbagging but it changed the narrative of the game completely simply because he body blocked, if it was an intended strategy you would get points for doing it.

Hahaha, he is body blocking you to gain time to get out of stealth so he can hit you in the face and preventing you from hitting him with the pallet. He did not ignore you, he is literally unable to hit you while invisible. There is nothing reportable about it... there is a reason he is still solid while invisible.
Yeah he's still solid because you graphically can't remove a intended solid object it's just the coding changes his intended look, it's scummy to do.

That's... One of the few things Wraith can do. He's not that great in general, and using his speed to get to places first is one of the very few things Wraith can do during a chase. Body blocking isn't a reportable offense, otherwise Survivor's taking hits to make a survivor wiggle out would be reportable. What's the difference? Both cases have one side body blocking the other from their goal.
A survivor bodyblocking another survivor on purpose may be a reportable offense - it's called sandbagging, and that is a truly scummy thing. Not a Wraith bodyblocking a pallet.
Whoever told you that bodyblocking is a reportable thing was wrong. It even says in the game that bodyblocking isn't a bannable offense.
It's still not ok though it's in the report options in the after game summery, the wraith is pretty strong imo and doesn't need to block like that and shouldn't, no one should.

If you go to the report option at the summery of a game and look under the trolling option it's there in writing, taking a hit is receiving a penalty for the action not a one way negative for one player.
-
@Bumbus said:
Bodyblocking is reportable? Good news, I'll report every survivor trying to get protection hits at the exit gate lol
That's not stopping you from moving and taking a hit isn't body blocking, now if they were to block a choke point while you were in a chase on purpose that's body blocking because you have no other option to go round or hit them and lose your intended target. I would support you on that if it happened because it's scummy.
-
@NomiNomad said:
If a survivor does it, sure - total dick move. Probably on accident though.
If a killer does that, it's a completely fair tactic. Why wouldn't they try to stop the pallet from being thrown? It's not scummy at all.
You say that but it's a reportable offence, he ignored me initially to block the pallet and being wraith was faster then me by miles while invis.
-
@Spooky13 said:
Them being in the way of the pallet drop prompt isn't reportable. If survivors do it sure it's a dick move but you can't do much. And if the killer swings through and blocks it just do another loop or go to a different one.
There is a report option for body blocking so it's definitely considered unfair practice, he wouldn't of had the hit so early if he didn't do that and ignored me to get a head to purposely block.
-
@Moundshroud said:

I think you are wasting our time. Of course a Killer is going to move to intercept you and prevent you from hitting him/her with the pallet. That is commonsense and part of the game. If another Survivor gets in you way, chances are they did it by accident intending to do the same thing you were doing. If they are actively working against the other Survivors, however, report it and provide video evidence (record every game). Stop wasting our time.
Right so running to a pallet to use on the wraith while he is invis and he purposely gets in my way to block it is not toxic? Body blocking is reportable and what's acceptable to you doesn't mean it's not acceptable in general. He ignored a hit to block me then hit me, it's a scummy tactic.

I play 100% survivor, I used to play killer alot but realised survivors can be super harsh and have all the perks that virtually make it as hard as possible to get a hook.
I enjoy survivor more as I play the survivor role really well too, I used to main trapper and did it very well but hate the stress that comes with it.
I flex main Dwight and Claudette and I'm rank 4 ( nearly 3 ) survivor, I just enjoy the chase as a survivor and prefer having physical objectives like the gens to do rather then try stopping someone as I like working with a team 🙂
-
@WisteriaButterfly said:
I agree it's pretty dumb. Earlier for example I was against a mediocre gunslinger who was around rank 10 and he didn't kill 1 of us until all 5 gens were done and then all he had to do was land a shot (Ya know the one with ridiculous range) and just one shot us. within 1 minute he killed 3 of us and 1 got away.
That is exactly what I'm talking about, it's a huge crutch for bad killers regardless of what perks you run.
-
@mistar_z said:
Its fair unlike the meta survivor perks. You should be doing bones anyways when you go from generator to generator, cleansing only takes 15 seconds. Hell even when you're getting chased, you should be aware of your surroundings so that you can find them later. same way you'd look at gens when you're running around.
I do all that but it's not always possible to find all the totoms before the gens are finished.

I'm the worst nurse in the entire world and I just got 2 downs with NOED. There's no excuse. If you're not doing totems and dying to horribly played Killers like my nurse, who I have no idea how to control because blinking takes forever to charge, sometimes sends me to different elevations, sometimes sends me shooting miles away and sometimes stops me at the wall RIGHT in front of me that I was trying to blink past in the first place and then takes forever to cool down in order for me to get back into a chase with the person, who's across map by now, while I'm moving at turtle speed? If you seriously die to that because you couldn't be bothered to blow out some candles there is absolutely nothing that could ever help you. I LMFAO at myself for the entire match but it pales in comparison to how hard I LMFAO at the Survies who I actually manage to kill. Like holy #########, you really died to that. At that point do you realize there's absolutely no room for excuses and it comes down to either you do bones and you're foolish if you don't OR you are so insanely bad at this game, that you should probably return the game to gamestop or get a refund from Steam and go buy something that won't cause you to blow through blood vessels because you're losing to a ghost who should have been codenamed "The 1995 Dial-Up".
As I said in a previous post it's usually crutch killers like spirit, legion, ghost face and the huntress that use them and people think they are good with it.
I use no crutch perks and support removing crutch perks because it ruins the game by eliminating basic fair play.

Dead hard. Played too greedy at a loop, got out mindgamed, out positioned at the exit gate, no problem, e key.
Ds. Killer hooked someone on the other side of the map and found you again , survivors did an unsafe unhook, need a free escape with the gates open, did a gen right in front of the killer, no problem, space bar.
Borrowed time. Want to hook bomb right in the killers face, want to body block without consequences, no problem, don't even have to hit a key or face a cooldown.
You're totally cool with survivors playing bad and getting constant get out of jail free cards, but boy when killer has the same option it's not fair. Heck, the survivor perks are worse, because killer can't remove them. Imagine if dead hard could be removed by destroying a survivor shrine.
Not at all, as I said in a previous comment if there are abused perks remove them. If you need crutch perks you're not as good as you think weather it be survivor or killer.

Usually I'm running Dwight with self care, botany knowledge, spine chill and prove thyself or Claudette with self care, botany knowledge, we'll make it and empathy.

That’s all crutch perks in a nut shell but if everyone is rushing gens then you don’t need to help them do that do the totems so it’s done and if any gens are left then do them
Do you know how many games I've been in that someone is hooked in the first minute then some idiot gets downed trying to rescue them.
You have no choice sometimes because half the time the other 2 will focus the hooked survivor, it really frustrates me.
-
No actually, unless I'm running Dwight with my gen build no I'm not gen rushing because I'm rank 4 and doing that practically kills advancing your rank. I try do as much as possible when it presents itself.

Then do bones yes it has a different counter then most totems where you either do 5 to prevent it or look for one when it activates but it’s still a totem
I'm usually the only one doing totoms on my team because if one isn't active alot of people tend to walk by them and if I'm using all my time looking for bones I'm not helping with gens which increases chances of a loss anyway.
It's a really strong hex that requires nothing for it to work apart from a free totom.

@Mozzie said:
Remove NOED, wow I don't think this has been discussed before on these forums. I agree with you. NOED should be removed as it's a second chance perk that rewards players for bad gameplay decisions. It should be removed right after Sprint Burst, Decisive Stike, Dead Hard and Borrowed Time get removed as well.
Yes I agree, if it's a perk that gets abused/taken advantage of I 100% support the removal of them. I don't use none of those perks so wouldn't bother me in the slightest.
-
It's not balanced because you can go through the whole game and lose 2 people to general play, say you get the gates going and killer has NOED he downs one of you your basically stuck especially if the gates are close together.
What do you expect people to do when no matter what you can get one hit?

I really hate when players say this because more people are not SWFs.
- You don't know how many totems have been done so it's always a gamble.
- You have to run Detectives Hunch to ever be sure, eating up a perk slow. Not a problem in SWF but in Single Player, you can't waste perk slots.
The better answer is wait for the killer to come to a door while hidden and leave. Then start doing the door. Also, survivors should split up on doors.
This is what I try do but by the end of the game it could be only 2 of you left, once one of you are down it's basically game over.
-
@SocialDistomancy said:
I play mostly solo survivor and I believe it's fair, just cleanse totems when you find them or remember where you saw and then don't screw with the killer endgame feeling entitled to a free trip out the zoo

I'm not a big ego survivor at all, don't use flashlights and in fact think they are useless and expect a challenge but not a almost guaranteed loss.

I mean you can do bones survivor crutches are a lot worse then Noed they don’t have actual counters if survivors are running around with big egos with it a lot of times the reason you all four died was cuz you try being cocky instead of giving the killer that one kill
It's not like that with me think about it, you have played a full game and anywhere from one to three people could be caught already and others could be on their last hook.
It's game breaking because if you have a decent killer or above its practically a guaranteed win for them.

WHO THINKS THE ADRENALINE IS FAIR? BECAUSE I THINK IT SHOULD BE REMOVED.
The reason I say this is because I've seen bad survivors who struggle the whole game escape due to this one perk, it's not smart and gives the survivor an insane advantage even if they are ok at best.
80% of survivors seem to run this and it's extremely hard to counter as it means stopping the gens from completing, there's no skill to using this perk.
Does anybody understand where I'm coming from?
Especially considering even the ace survivors use this also which makes a win damn near impossible.
Adrenaline doesn't hand you an advantage like NOED does, nowhere near.

If the killer is able to down all 4 of you with their basic attack in the span it takes one of you to open a gate or get someone else up... NOED wasn't the problem in the first place.
If the killer is bad they'll get less kills in the end anyway because the survivors know how to play and avoid NOED. Do your bones or learn to hide.
Then you got killers like the spirit, hag and trapper that can make getting to gates impossible, it really shouldn't be allowed on all killers.
-

Noed should require 4 hooks, if you didn't get the 4 hooks before the 5th generator got repaired, noed doesn't activate, noob killers have to do a lot more.

Yeah with all that listed you could go round and get all the totoms but that's focusing totoms with your entire character, I run either gen fixer or healer builds so would disrupt my entire style of play for one hex 😕

Yeah but that's running statistics through probability.
There's a difference between measuring probability and saying it reduces the charge time by 20% that is a static number that won't change.
If the base time is 20 and it reduces it by 20% that takes it down to 16 that is a concrete value
Yeah working it that way dies leave a concrete value, maybe they have their own reasons for using words instead of numbers but imo doesn't really matter it just is what it is.
I would understand in a game like the division for solid numbers but in DBD it's not really a fine tuning game so......

Another reason is because I think the devs don’t want to be lynched by people who misunderstand percentages (or some of the other number choices)
Look at Doc’s high stimulus electrode. It actually only extends the shock range by 4 metres. Many would read 4 metres for a green add on as pathetic. But in actual in game practice it does in fact make a HUGE difference having those extra 4 metres.
So some of the Tremendously and Considerably items actually have seemingly small numbers or seemingly small percentages but make big differences. Showing these numbers might be misunderstood and have players campaigning for buffs that would actually be absurd, even if the player doesn’t perceive their proposed buff as being a large number.
1% in this game makes a huge difference.
Sort of what I was saying a bit further up but explained in a different execution, I think the worded rather then the numbered increases were ment to simplify things but people like to know exactly what they are getting lol.
