  • I agree it's pretty dumb. Earlier for example I was against a mediocre gunslinger who was around rank 10 and he didn't kill 1 of us until all 5 gens were done and then all he had to do was land a shot (Ya know the one with ridiculous range) and just one shot us. within 1 minute he killed 3 of us and 1 got away.

Honestly I just want the game to run smoothly on console. The game can sometimes randomly freeze or lag during chase which is really irritating.

I can't really say anything about that tbh I play on PC but I would hope the upcoming updates will optimize the game more for console.

there is no point cause devs rarely listen

I still want to hear what you think should happen with the game. What's your biggest annoyance of the game? What do you think should change?

That isn't what you suggested at all. You literally compared it to a pick + ban system like in siege. If you were strictly speaking about an avoidance system, you shouldn't have even mentioned that.

And I'm sorry, but no. I don't think it's reasonable for Survivors, who have no unique qualities per character, to stop me from playing with a Killer I paid money to unlock and level.

I literally gave multiple solutions and siege was one of them. I did not create my entire discussion over a siege suggested ban system that was just one of them I gave out to see if anyone else would give out ideas or to build off of them. What I'm getting back are toxic and sensitive comments from people who exaggerating and being very defensive about an IDEA that hasn't even been put into play yet. I see comments and discussions constantly saying Survivors are over powered or Killers are over powered from various ranks even the highest ranking players and no one at all gives a solution on how they think could fix that.

By the way the discussion is literally "System to Avoid Specific Killers?"

  • I can't say I completely agree or disagree but one thing I do agree with is the fact that you need to buy DLC to obtain perks that give you a better chance to win the game. I personally don't have a problem with buying DLC for cheap ($1-$5) if it means I can try out different perks but it is true that it's unfair for some players. On the topic of perks though if they could make them unlock able, besides the shrine, and allow you to get the perks but just not the killer it comes with that would be amazing. Some games I play let you unlock various weapons with challenges. Modern Warfare for example you usually buy the season pass to unlock new weapons they give out during a big update. Those who do not buy the season pass don't get the weapons but once the season is over they're able to unlock the weapons by doing challenges so they can have a chance to obtain themselves.

If we can build off of that idea and maybe one day we can suggest being able to get perks without buying the DLC.

  • In a solo game I believe this is perfectly fine but with SWF depending on if the survivors are actually skilled or know how to play it may be a problem, but in the video they barely got 2 gens done as he was able to kill them within a short amount of time (video is about 11 minutes). Most of them were around rank 4 or higher except 1 survivor. In these ranks it should be expected as it would if you were a high rank in a different game. I believe it is fair if it's against a killer of the same rank because they obviously know what they're doing and what to expect. The chances of this happening are low unless with a SWF like I said. Even then low rank survivors do not have the coordination to do this with randoms unless they are high rank which, as I keep putting out there, it should be expected as it is high rank not newbie survivors or killers.

This is like saying a pro in a fps shooter shouldn't be able to hear callouts from a teammate so he can prefire the enemy charging in his direction. Most regular players do not have the coordination level to do what the pro would do themselves, unless they're high ranking, so believing that communication is a problem would be the wrong direction to take. What should be the problem at hand is if the matchmaking is fair.

I believe this is completely fine if the matchmaking is fair and not random like it usually is. The real problem is matchmaking not gen rushing. High rank survivors or even SWFs should not be against a low rank killer but it happens anyways.

Also just because one youtuber who plays his life out of DBD doesn't mean he's a god, there are plenty of players at his level of skill who can do what he's done. Yes, he's really good, but many other players are as well and this is not a big problem I would see when there are many others that need to be fixed with more meaning to them.

  • @Peanits Do you mind deleting this discussion for me please? I'm new to this but I looked up how and was informed I had to notify a mod. My reason being people are not discussing or giving ideas but instead just straight up saying stuff like "yea no this is a dumb idea" etc. etc. I was hoping for more ideas/feedback or to piggyback and build ontop of this idea but what I've discovered is that alot of people get offended by the mention of change and exaggerate their salt.

Thank you if you get this message.

  • Personally I agree with the idea that she can "reload" her traps but if that's the case I would make it so the min/max boxes a survivor would have to go through should be only 2 if that's the case and the 1st could be a 50/50 while the 2nd could just be a guarantee if the first was a no. There are times I've had to go through 4 boxes just to get the helmet off and if that was still the case and she was able to put another helmet on it would be very time consuming and a little over powered in my opinion.

Other than that I also agree with the stealth noise idea.

4-SWF each with 1, 2, or 3 killers on their ban list. That's 4, 8, 12 Killers they won't have to face, can you see how that's not a good idea?

and can you see how that's completely what I wasn't talking about or suggested at all? Did you read the full thing or just saw "ban list killers"

    "This would need some polishing"

What platform? I see DH and DS almost every game and suspicious amounts of spine chill while playing Piggy.

I play on PC and see crossplatform players console and pc alike DS is a top tier perk and DH is good but literally not everyone uses it.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

If this idea was in place survivors would literally only fight Clown. Instead of holding survivors hands they should play the game and git gud.

Not even reading or thinking about the discussion at hand and just presenting what you think with "git gud" congratz you just showed us what type of dumb player you are.

Let's be honest the most dreaded killer atm are Freddy and spirit (maybe doc since he gives survivors).

So what about the people that to play the overall most hated killer, do they get their lobby search times increases several times because most of the survivors don't want to play against them?

Punishing the minority side of an asymmetrical game to cater to the numbers side is a sure way to kill the game sooner than later.

Theoretically if the majority of all survivors choose to avoid 1 single specific killer it would most certainly increase match finding but this is a minimal suggestion not affecting gameplay completely like I've said it would lower chances for the killer to be matched not completely take them out and survivors can still be matched against them. If you believe this would be a game killer then you're definitely not thinking about this at all and just commenting first hand what you see.

  • @SocialDistomancy said:

Sounds like a great idea if Killers (really everybody, including solos who get used as bait lol) also get an option to avoid swf, or indicate who is within a swf group while in lobby so they have time to dodge, or to at least add those players to a list that tries to avoid matching them together in the future.

I agree but I would say give an indicator if there is an SWF to dodge rather than avoid them like a ban list would be a good idea. Although for queue times I would not know how to fix those yet because survivor at any rank I get instant matches but killer so many people play that it takes almost 30 minutes every time to find a match.

Fine then, give me a system to "avoid" dead hard and DS every game too. Although the reality is if you do, it means i won't get matched in a single game, because those damn perks are in every single game.

I almost never see dead hard at all and Im rank 5 as survivor and out of my 16 games today I've only seen DS once and for dead hard I was the only person to use it in 3 to 4 games compared to my teammates. More than half of my games were teammates below rank 8 as well so it's been a variety of players not a specific group.

  • @Orion said:

Yeah, no. Due to the asymetrical nature of the game, even if survivors could only avoid two killers each, they'd be able to avoid well over a third of all killers as a whole. Just learn to play better and provide feedback to the devs.

Not counting the dlc killers yes but even then 2 is enough and like I said it's a lower chance not completely avoiding them entirely.

Also "Just learn to play better and provide feedback".

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/170620/system-to-avoid-specific-killers

Sure, but only if i as killer get to ban perks too. Survivors get 4 killer bans (1 each) and i get 4 perk bans.

That's way too hardcore than what I suggested. Banning something completely throws the game out of loop I brought up how it should just allow them to have a lower chance to avoid a specific killer but if a ban system comes to play I would assume it would be something less than a whole 4 perks and less than 4 killers.

@WisteriaButterfly @Bovinity @metalklok I'm glad you three agree that the matchmaking system on this game sucks. Usually, I get hate for complaining about it from a bunch of rank 1's.

The devs really need to fix this issue because I'm seeing that people are actually refusing to play the game until it's fixed and I don't and them completely. I'm not going to stop playing the game because of this but I will make it clear to others that this is the most major issue in the game that needs to be fixed. I'm sorry about ya'lls matches as well, you shouldn't have to go against people who way higher or lower than your rank, the game should be equal and fun for everyone.

Most rank 3, 2 and 1 players have big heads and the only comments I see from them are relating to "you're just bad get good" lmao, but like I said before I do agree because right now at this moment I'm being put with rank 4 or below killers and I literally cannot play against them. I play alot but not as much as someone who probably has 3 to 4 times as much hours as I do.

  • Yea, earlier I was put with rank 16+ survivor teammates although Im rank 6 and this happened for a couple games then all of a sudden I got put with a rank 1 killer and rank 3, 2 and 1 survivors for a couple games and It just kinda tilted me since the games went from easy/fun to mess around with to hard as hell and annoying.

  • @Peanits said:

Currently, killers have the authority over hits. If they hit a survivor on their end, the survivor will get hit on their end (no matter where they are). This is a carryover from the days before dedicated servers where the killer was the server.

In the PTB, this is actually being addressed though. The killer still has authority over hits to ensure that everything feels the same as before, but if they have a weak connection, the game will reject hits that are too far away. Testing for that starts tomorrow.

Alrighty, thank you for the detailed answer that I was hoping for, I was told there would be changes to the game soon and I'm grateful that this is one of them. I recently got back into Dead by Daylight because my uncle and his friends bought it from the steam summer sale and it's definitely been improvement from a while back.

  • First off I'm gonna say that I agree with you and secondly I'm going to bring up how almost all players who think they're big ######### say "you just suck" and bring up skill with any complaint about killers. Skill matters to a certain extent but once you're in the higher survivor ranks skill should not be a justification for certain mechanics or broken bugs etc. Survivor is not difficult for me I am certainly above average and I am around rank 3. The doctor is ridiculous in my opinion and from my experience in games I die to him more often than the other killers. If I had to base the killers and rank them without items/perks Doctor is top 3 for me in terms of brain dead easy to play and stupid to go against. Dead hard btw is not a trash perk it's fun to use and as you can time it right it's great in specific situations. A lot of survivor perks are fairly even and you can take what you want and justify how useful it is as long as you know how to use it but once more when people just blame that you're bad and low skill you can tell what type of player they are.
