Heavily Salted Pudding
People probably assumed the killer was running a tryhard build?
I typically run them as often as I can. Builds that end games early or have alot of 1 shots dont net alot of BPs, so using a survivor pudding with those would actually be a waste.

100% right. People are always demanding bans, but the Devs need to address WHY people disconnect against a Mori. This problem requires a resolution other than banning. MoM/DS, both often resulted in The Killer disconnecting, and the response wasn't to ban but rather adjust those Perks. Devs need to look at Mori's and consider reworking them IMHO.
The videos here showed ppl DCing against bloodpoint offerings though, not moris...

@Mochan said:
Lobby dodging is the exact same thing as offering dodging.
You're just biased, which is why you think it's okay for you to lobby dodge while it's not okay for survivors to offer dodge.
The only difference is killer can see it in the lobby so they can dodge "legit" at that point, survivors can't so the only option is to DC after offering screen.
So what was wrong about the survivor puddings to make ppl dodge them? lol

Months ago I played Old Freddy from rank 13 all the way to rank 1 never stopping to play any other killer and I stayed at red until reset
The survivors weren't bad, it's just old Freddy had a ton of map pressure and control, PLUS think about it
Same scenario with fighting games. Everyone knows how to play and fight against the top tier fighters, but a under-rated or low tier character? Experience beats in-experience
I get it, lol. I spent ALOT of time with old Freddy. I just dont take many screenshots.

Isn't that the freddy when he doesn't have fake pallets? XD
So what your saying is he'd be OP since he doesnt need survivors to be asleep first...

Well look, it was only possible to do extremely well with old Freddy by buying yourself the time necessary (such as survivors being fooled into believing failing gen skill checks was a good thing to do) in order to get the hooks and kills. It would still take a long time to get downs and hooks, with many abandoned chases, but none of that was worrisome when drawing the game out well over 20 minutes and gradually exhausting all the survivors pallets.
That kind of stall for any other killer that can’t end chases fast simply isn’t possible any more.
I actually ran a VERY different build and strategy with my Freddy. I didnt even have ruin when I first hit rank 1 with him, just cuz I didnt have Hag lvled at the time (Plus old Freddy sucked at defending totems) and actually prefered to stay away from stacking block addons. I just tended to do abit of a hit and run tactic with Monitor, BBQ, Whispers and NOED as my perk lineup. The NOED I only really used to avoid circumstances where I have to watch survivors open the doors before I get to hit them... Monitor though was VERY nice since old Freddy had a 16 meter TR outside chases with it. Could constantly sneak up on survivors trying to break out of dream or trying to heal up and smack em down.

Here is a popular streamer's opinion on the matter. I sympathize with his perspective from my own experience. I really want to reach rank 1 with Clown, but just no way! This streamer has over 3,000 hours (maybe more):
While Tru3 is pretty decent at movement around junglegyms, such as moonwalking and such... The guy completely misses alot of details in a killer's power. Watching him praise an awake survivor at SOMEHOW knowing which dream pallet is fake just makes me laugh everytime. He goes on the "optimal survivor" speech everytime he loses, which is just cringy at this point. I was a big fan when I first started playing, but now that I have some experience...I see threw it.

I think I still have video saved of me with old Freddy at Rank 2 decimating teams, making it impossible to repair more than 1 generator using overcharge.
Dont say that too loud... The ppl who are trying to convince themselves that its impossible to win might overhear you...

That's not the point I'm trying to make: Not that they're bad per say, but that they all can spawn so close to each other that the issue in my mind is loop2loop, every time a pallet is broken.
The loop2loop issue your talking about is only an issue if you get tunnelvision on 1 survivor. If 1 guy uses up abunch of pallets, you can swap targets to one of his teammates who DOESNT know which areas are complete deadzones. If you try staying in the same chase however with a survivor who is bringing you from 1 point of the map to the next, pallet after pallet... Your gonna lose. Cut chase and go after someone who's gonna try using those areas next, after the pallets are broken.
-
T and L walls really arnt a problem against a decent killer. By this, i'm not referring to the character, but rather the player. Meat tree actually use to be horrendously worse, but now if you loop it the correct way...survivors MIGHT get 2 loops out of it before throwing the pallet.
-
The fall reduction is the big reason why ppl pick the perk at all. Taking that away will cripple its usage.
-
Things like this is why I'm glad I dont play this on console.

The Difference between a good survivor and one that is rank 1 is immense. Like there are so many (im stretching a bit ofc but you get my point) survivors at rank 1 that lose a chase in the first 20 sec. Rank does absoluetly not matter who you are playing against, and even against full sfw groups, if one of them makes a mistake at the right time, you can still kill them all. And i also believe that every Killer is atleast viable at red ranks, maybe not optimal, but you certainly dont lose every single game if you play Bubba. There are just so many things to consider in a dbd match, that it sounds kinda stupid to me if you think you cant rank up if you dont play meta killers. The balancing isnt perfect, but the devs made a couple of really good changes in the last year and its def possible to atleast go safety pip in pretty much every game.
Really wish I had a screenshot of Old Freddy 4king at rank 1. Well said though.
-
Gotta agree with these guys. While survivors might get harder, that doesnt mean your forced to play "the top 3" to have a chance. You'll get better.

This was a 4 man swf....and this ranking system is still very bad, but I realized that if you don't rely on the insta down too much and just play as stealthy as you can be, you will do pretty good. Unless its blood lodge of course 😂 I think Ghostface is a lot better than people make him out to be, but I know he still is not Nurse/Spirit/Freddy/Billy tier lol just found this interesting and wanted to share.
I like how your including Freddy in this list instead of just "the big 3", lol.
-
Tru3 did a video with him using Ghostface like this. I think the influx of ppl swapping styles might just be ppl who watch him and are trying to emulate.

I don't believe you understood what I was getting at. However, before I clarify my point I must point out that with the recent changes I actually managed to go against a Freddy with OoO and looped him without any threat of being downed because there was no mindgames that the killer could've performed.
To clarify my point from my original post however, it doesn't become a matter of "can Freddy handle it", it becomes a matter of "is this good design?". If a player has OoO and they're against Freddy with the current oblivious effect, you eliminate any and all mindgame possibilities because you constantly see the killer which is the exact reason why the coldwind maze tiles got changed as they featured the same problem. Secondly, this creates a new problem where BT can no longer accomplish its intended job which will promote tunneling as when the survivor has deep wounds and is oblivious, they cannot do anything and will go down no matter what they do.
It's also important to note that if it's a big deal on Freddy, it will be even worse for other killers that could possibly pick up on the oblivious effect in the future such as in their base kit, by the means of addons or perks as they will also suffer the same exact problems.
Im with @DudeDelicious on this one. I welcome a full team of OoO users to stare at me with 0 TR. While mindgames are always nice, Freddy can still get ya just fine even when you can clearly see every move he makes.

you must be the exception. I wish someone would post Just ONE video of a top ranked killer going against a top ranked swf group where the killer wins.
ANyway, it's a pvp game so there will always be those that can commit time and energy to excel (and they deserve it), but even playing casuall y, I can hit red ranks and be paired with people that spend HOURS a day in this game.
I am casual. How on earth am I set up against 4 red ranks....oh yeah...rank means nothing in this game.
a new player spends 2 hours and he will be ranked with purples. Lol what?
For casuals, best advice is to depip.
I havent been able to spend nearly as much time as id like to online, between work and watching a very fussy 5 month old. Also, your right about rank... It doesnt mean everything. Just got done with a game where the best ranked survivor completely screwed over their team by camping all the best pallets on the map on the first chase. Every chase after that ended SUPER fast.

Ahh but you wont. You'll be looped and pallet dropped and run in circles against swf.
Solo survivors are rare at that rank. Top killers can beat solo survivors. Top killers can't beat top swf.
For casual players, ranking up is punishment. Best to stay in the lowbie ranks where the game is still about having fun.
I do just fine with my Freddy at any rank, thank you very much. I encourage people to try looping me and see what happens.

Why are you using the chainsaw? Who do you think you are, Leatherface?

Stay low ranked. Have fun!
Or I can hit rank 1 and just kill the "toxic" ppl...

I keep this as a reminder of what happens when you end the game too fast. Ive posted this screenshot before, but this was a 4k 5 gen game that lasts 2 minutes. Everyone died on first hook except 1 guy, who died on 2nd. As you can see, no camping was done. This was right before Freddys rework.

I think the real reason is the body itself. Has anyone actually checked if the survivor on the ground is still missing a finger? A body still having all 10 fingers is easy to miss, but a body having its head still, after you clearly saw an animation where it was bitten off...is gonna be noticed.

Like what @Yung_Slug said you're going to have to find a general consensus on what is overpowered and good luck with that.
Got some people who consider Michael ultra rares to be op some people don't because it's balance by how how much time it takes to get the effects.
I've heard people call the Aura reading add-ons of stealth Killers overpowered.
Amanda's letter: probably the worst out of the three don't get me wrong I love the add-on but it has way more negatives and positives
All seeing : nothing much to say it's just a really great add-on
Scratched mirror: the best out of the three and definitely balanced with its downsides
All of these add-ons would be under contention for removal.
Cuz we all know the most OP of the aura reading addons is...VANITY MIRROR!!!
-
I think this is kinda ironic. At one end, you have plenty of ppl wanting original content to blow their shards on. On the other end, you have an endless amount of threads making wishlists of licensed characters.
"STOP WITH THE NONE STOP LICENSED CHARACTERS!!! But would be real cool if you could do Pinhead..."

The main problem with this is someone playing solo can be punished by a random persons actions through no fault of their own by just loading into a match versus the Pig.
Traps are designed to slow the game down and keep a survivor off gens while they search the boxes. The issue with this idea is it could make the trap kill a lot more which should be something that onky happens now and again.
I agree a good reason to take the trap off would help the Pig but I dont think it should be done in a way which only gives you time to possibly search half the boxes as that's not slowing it down it's removing the time to search and changes it to a highly rng if you survive the trap system.
What if it had a similar effect as Freddy's old dream state, where action speeds while wearing a trap are reduced. Between this and the rule set #2 idea, this would put someone at abit of a predicament. Do they blindly search for boxes and use more time, or do they SLOWLY do a gen so they can see a box?
-
Maybe if the devs werent so Killer/Survivor biased, this game might have some sort of balance. As it stands, it wont be long til all the survivors/killers just leave and itll be lobby waiting sim for the killers/survivors with all their OP stuff.
-
@GrootDude said:
Inner strength requires you to cleanse one of the five totems on the map, if four survivors run this then they’ll probably only use it once each if that. This perk can only be good if it isn’t a meta perk, if it became meta then it’d fall out of the meta just as quickly.
The biggest reason why itll never become Meta... Survivors have to cleanse totems for it to work. Everyone knows survivors hate cleansing totems. If the activation was teabag the killer 10 times, it would be meta for sure.

True one, if I remember correctly fr13th died basically because of the licence holders making trouble. I hope dbd will never get Jason, he seems to have very strict licence holders
We dont need all the trouble when we already have great killer ideas lined up...Like THIS powerhouse

Would be really awkward if for awhile, you can always see your certain someone...then some Dwight uses DS and you have to stare at HIM instead.

I always get a good laugh when survivors stay at a pallet to flashlight blind me. Congrats, you just wasted the time meant to get distance and now I'm just gonna follow you using sound for afew seconds.

If borrowed time is triggered then MYC wouldn't go off. Borrowed Time only activates if the killers TR is within range of the hook, MYC only activates when the killer is a certain distance away from the hook. So no, MYC doesn't counter BT at all.
I think they mean MYC gives you a clear better target thats NOT the person with BT protecting them. Still wouldnt use the word "counter" but...yeah

BT doesn't work at all if you are facing a cloaked Wraith. Different killers, different mechanics.
Object of Obsession is also now super-powerful against Freddy since you now always see his aura without any minimum distance while being asleep. That totally kills any mindgame potential. Again, different killers, different mechanics.
I love when ppl bring OoO against my Freddy. Even if you know my position when im 6 inches away from you, doesnt mean i'm not gonna hit you when your standing in a minefield of snares.

I'd like a meter to fill for the heal state.
If you heal Survivor A for half his life and Survivor B for half of his the perk won't trigger. Has to be all in on one survivor. If you use AutoDidact and get heal regression you don't get it once you do the equivalent of one heal state. You really have to heal one survivor from zero to 100.
I find that stupid.
They mentioned they were adding this with the next hotfix.

Alot of bugs ARE found on the PTB. You can generally follow this by looking at the "known issues" section of the patch notes, which gets updated as the PTB goes on. Unfortunately, alot of the game doesnt get tested during the PTB since most ppl only want to see whatever is new. With this past PTB for example, many ppl would instantly DC or suicide on hook if they faced anything that wasnt Demogorgon.

You googled a definition that isnt set in stone. So yes.
Because its bipedal. It is not a humanoid.
But if you want to use YOUR definition. We can now have xenomorph, barney, centaur, spider women, and any other RIDICULOUS things we can create that "generally resemble a human and has 2 legs and can walk upright".
It's a very thinly layed definition.
One that THE DEVS didnt use because they SPECIFICALLY said AT ONE POINT HUMAN, NO monsters.
Then tweaked their definition, put in demo, and now there are tons of kids who think bipedal and humanoid are the same thing.
I've used the term humanoid for 15 years, back when it's only true applocation was DND creature typing.
Demogorgon, is NOT humanoid. No matter how much you believe google to be the word of god in terms of biology and terminology.
And since your response is "hmmmm".
I'm done, as you have no intellectual input for this conversation.
Bye now, "humanoid" troll.
<3
Bipedal simply means 2 legs. You could have a top half that looks like an Octopus and meet that definition. Demogorgon however has 2 legs...2 arms...head in the right spot...stands upright. Demo is humanoid, while all humanoids are of course also bipedal.
-
I have a hard time accepting that any match is impossible anymore. Even at rank 1, im confident in my chances. Its been quite awhile since a team has managed to get the gates open while Ive been using my main. I guess none of the teams I face are the mythical "optimal teams" that so many ppl on here speak as if their the freaking boogyman.
