You were playing a low-tier killer against optimal survivors. Of course you did not stand a chance. "Accept it and move on" is asinine advice however. The mindfulness guru survivor can get lost. Things won't change unless people are loud.
Demo is actually quite nice, dunno why your considering him low tier.

Havent been able to hop on much since rank reset, due to work and taking care of an infant. Hoping to have time this weekend though to go ahead and hit rank 1 again. I double pip alot when playing my main, so shouldnt take too long.

Of course not. Theres always room for improvement in your gameplay. Keep at it and write this one particular match off as a bad one (we all have em from time to time).

This made me Lol. Not that your wrong but please only release him if his crazy laugh gets passed on to some new killer. I think i play him these days just to hear it.
Combine his laugh with Clown's for an ultimate laughing killer. I'mma go with Wraith, whos only victim he KNEW about was the boss who forced blood on his hands.

Ill bring it if I see SWF running identical outfits and I don't wanna eat a DS cuz I mixed them up. I'll bring an ebony, but that doesn't mean I'll bother using it.
Also... Sometimes my GF wants me to be "toxic", so I'll bring iri heads and an ebony.

I remember hearing that Myers was one only one who could defy the entity though since huntress can temprarily break the entity's control via Beast of Prey. It shows it is possible with focus/willpower though like you said it won't mean anything since the realm is the entity.
The Entity only acts on killers who need some convincing, like Wraith. Clown walked into the entities realm VERY happy to participate.

I just feel like she and I would get along, we'd have some nice walks through nature together, and she'd take out any possible threats from extreme range. Plus, I enjoy her lullaby.

I mean... Some killers kill to protect things.
Bubba basically kills to protect his family and because he fears consequences if outsiders learn about their cannibalism. He may be scared of his family at times but he knows there's no place for him in this world other than the house he and his family lives in. Therefore he's ready to die to protect his family and their secret making him the ultimate bodyguard - at least psychologically.
Freddy could use more Pinballs...

It wasn't "buffed twice" it was tweaked. This however is a flat out buff, one Freddy doesn't need.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/699360#Comment_699360
Doesn't matter my point is that they fixed these perks to work on Freddy, now they are broke again. Any future within-TR-range-effect-perks won't be of use on him.
Also Coulrophobia was very strong on both the old and new Freddy. Slowing down healing is a big deal. But now it's not even an option.
Borrowed Time is just fine right now, they don't need to add this new status effect, especially to Freddy. Lullaby should count as a TR. It's about balance not wanting a free anti-BT on an already strong killer.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/699374#Comment_699374
If you do Overcharge with stacked dresses you can make a skill check cost like 15% of a gen. Without Unnerving that loses all point though, since base Overcharge skill check is easy to hit.
I use to main old Freddy and I've played quite a lot of new Freddy with a lot of tactics. I'm telling you guys that giving him a free anti-BT is really unbalanced. Old Freddy yea throw the dude a bone, but the new one no he is plenty strong.
Letting them fail skill checks with OC and all that was fine on old Freddy. You don't wanna deal with having no power in a chase for 60 seconds with new Freddy.

New Freddy is good, but not as good as he should be imo
Unpopular opinion, but I'd put my Freddy without add-ons next to any prayer beads spirit

Gets tiring having to use the same killers and same perks for 3 years yeah :/
They wouldn't have so much turn over on their player base if more killers and perks were viable to allow change of play. We aren't even talking heavy work loads here either, many killers and perks are being held back simply by just needing number changes, not even mechanical changes.
So it isn't a matter of work load, it's them simply not wanting to. Their idea of "balanced" is very different from our view, as they are balancing around low ranks since that's the majority of their player base. That isn't a design philosophy I would agree with though.
I find this comment odd, in that it suggests your using only perks and killers that are 3 years old. Spirit is a year old now and VERY viable, while there's been many odd perk/killer combos that work VERY good together with recent patches. Personally, I've been having HUGE success with new Freddy.

Lol right, I mean I like his streams I still learn stuff but his “woe is me,” speeches are getting to be a bit much. Yes every game as killer you’re against an optimal SWF and every game as survivor you have to carry three potatoes.
Hes pretty good at normal movement, like moonwalking junglegyms for tricky hits and all, but as far as knowing killer specific things... He'll get surprised when his traps as Freddy dont work against awake survivors and such.

Right, every survivor he plays against is using busted perks but he also plays DH, DS, iron will, QQ. And he complains about killers not “being chill,” but I’ve never seen him actually take it easy on the other team if they have a player kill them self on first hook either.
My favorite is his tangent on "THESE are the survivors we get when we play killer, but we never get these survivors when we play survivor".

I also usually assume that everybody has DS. Hard to say whether it will lead to more killers eating DS.
I think ppl with poor time management will chase the survivor with a 15 second lifespan more often with this. Personally... a proceed BT is gonna be treated the same way by me. Swat and release.

How do you figure the majority of players run DS? It's always bizarre to me when people make these statements, because they're always very anecdotal. Looking through recent post-game screenshots of mine, I definitely count more survivors who DON'T bring DS than the ones who do.
Typically good killers expect EVERYONE to have DS, unless proven otherwise. Personally, I slug the unhooked if I can and go after the unhooker. If the unhooked has BT, I rest easy knowing that guy now has to waste time mending+ is now asleep. I'm not gonna waste too much time harassing someone who's probably got an active DS. FOR ME, this change is just gonna increase the amount of ppl slugged rather than just mending. Worse killers than me though are more likely to waste 20 seconds chasing the unhooked target while the other guy gets away, and then PROBABLY eating a DS. This change is more than likely just gonna reinforce bad habits and have that person eating alot of DSes. @NoShinyPony thoughts?
-
@Rydog said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/699343#Comment_699343
I believe BT's effect being applied relies on the unhooker's proximity to the killer. So if the unhooker is awake and in Freddy's terror radius, then the unhooked survivor has the BT effect applied. That is what my common-sense assumption would be, based on the tooltips of both BT and Oblivious. In which case, the OP's assumptions are shaky at best (since Freddy only counters BT for sleeping survivors).
And if that's NOT the case, then the developers really ought to clarify or amend.
While you ARE correct, the effect is 2 fold here. With this new effect, if Freddy hits the unhooked guy and procs the BT, the bleed out of the deepwounds timer will immediately start depleting since that survivor is now asleep, and not in a TR anymore. If you chase em abit, they'll fall to the ground on their own.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
Freddy was in a good spot after his rework. He didn't need this.
The Oblivious effect also negatively affects him since now some perks are useless on him, such as Unnerving which was useless prior to his rework too, and is no useless again.
This new status is a bad decision. Just nerf OOO we don't need this.
Unnerving presence was already a bad idea to put on him since it increases the chance of getting a skill check. Him not equipping that isn't really a loss to him...

Hi Everyone! Was hoping that someone might be able to enlighten me a bit regarding a few things that I was unsure about using the new Freddy Rework.
First of all I would like to say that he's actually pretty fun to play, I've been enjoying him more than many other killers.
But a few things I was curious about..
A. Swing Chains, Jump Rope, and Outdoor Rope all Decrease "Sabotage, Healing, Repairing" speeds for dreaming survivors.. but it does not say anywhere in the "Tooltip" if these Power Addons "Stack", so what I would like to know for sure if someone could answer me, if I were to use 2 of these Addons together, for example: Jump Rope + Outdoor Rope, will the Decreased Speed Stack for Survivors or will the stronger one overpower the effect of the other? Some clarification would be nice, because I've been using both together but it would be a waste if they cancel each other out..
B. Dream Snares, I recently began playing with Dream Snares rather than the Pallets (Because Survivors stopped breaking my Dream Pallets) and actually have been succeeding in doing better with the Snares. However, I read on a "Tip" in the Loading page that it claims, "Dream Snares will Prevent Survivor's from Fast Vaulting for shot period of time" .. and therefore I started to try to play around with this idea by placing Dream Snares around Pallets and Vault locations hoping that it would stop the survivors from being able to "Fast Vault" over it and loop me... although I think it did work A FEW times, overall I noticed that this was not true, Survivors are able to Fast Vault directly at the moment that they are affected by a Dream Snare most of the time, I have tested this now and I am positive this is the case.
So is that Tip incorrect? Are Survivor's still able to Fast Vault during Dream Snare effects? Is it working as intended? Or is there something buggy going on with Dream Snares that needs to be looked at? Just trying to make sure I understand so that I can stop making errors while I play.
C. Addons, just out of curiousity, are there any Freddy Main / Red Rank Freddy players that want to give me some advice about what the best Addons to use are and explain why? I am currently a Purple Rank Killer and been getting 3-4K's using my new Build + Dream Snares lately, but I still get crushed a lot by good Survivors and also make a lot of mistakes, which many of have to do with my lack of knowledge or understanding of the character since I only recently started playing him for the first time.
- When I play Pallet Freddy I usually run Swing Chains + Paint Thinner Addons, not sure if there is much anything better to run since I believe that's the best Dream Pallet Addon.
- When I play Snare Freddy I usually run Jump Rope + Outdoor Rope together. I am open to other suggestions here but here is my current Perk Build to explain why I focus so much on the "Rope" Addons..
- Perk Build: Nurse's Calling, Sloppy Butcher, Thanatophobia, Surviellence (Don't have BBQ but considered using it if I had it, just not sure what to replace then, and I would use this same exact build with the new Dying Light and it would probably be very effective but Dying Light has a Bug that Crashes the Game on Hooks right now so it's unplayable)
Willing to listen to any suggestions or recommendations for how to improve my build or playstyle, so please send some my way! But specifically I would like to know the answers to A. B. C. Questions I asked.. thank you very much in advance!! Cheers.
I'll gladly show ya the ropes on Freddy. Most of your questions have been answered, except for vaulting. The only thing you can affect vaulting speeds of is WINDOW vaults, not pallet vaults.
Beyond that, if you'd like some tutoring, hit me up. I'm a Freddy main who typically dances around rank 1 teams, lol.

Even if a downed teammate is revived they remain asleep, unless a heal skill check is failed, or the one doing the reviving is awake and can perform the “wake up” action.
Also, just to help you out here, but intentionally hooking a survivor in an area heavily loaded with fake pallets is going to be bad against a team on coms. You’re going to be carrying this sleeping survivor through the area, they get hooked and wake up, notice every single pallet disappear, and can tell their team when they’re on their way to rescue “watch out, every pallet near the hook is fake”
The wake up action prompt doesn't appear until the sleeping person is fully healed.
-
I typically have no problem slugging ppl. I often will slug someone freshly unhooked and will chase someone else if I can find em. If the freshly unhooked guy gets up... That's fine. This is mostly just to avoid eating DS, but it also is considered the nicer thing to do. I also don't slug for the 4k anymore, UNLESS I can start a chase with the last survivor immediately. Slugging for the 4k while searching the map is just boring. Anymore... If the last guy gets hatch, I'm not too broken up about it.

Ehh I mean it's possible for both sides to end the game in less than 8-10 minutes. Had games were a Hillbilly just wrecked 3 people in less than 2 minutes in. He just happened to chainsaw right on top of someone at the start, chainsawed the other right after. Hooked them both, and then the third got chainsawed when they went for the save and I was the last one left, got spotted and it was GG
As killer I've also ended matches within like 5 minutes. I watch Monto and he somewhat frequently ends matches in less than 5 minutes especially with basement builds.
It happens for both sides. Gen Rushed, or just happened to catch survivors in bad spots. Majority of games don't go like that for either side though. There is a middle ground, and that's where I believe the game currently is.
If you are really that afraid of SWF, dodge lobbies that are obviously SWF. There is no punishment for doing it.
Had a 4k game in under 2 minutes as old Freddy once. Black pipped...

@LordGlint It can be nice for juggling IF you happen to get multiple obsession hooks to get it working, IF you play a killer who allready has a small TR to begin with and IF the survivors are kind enough to run into eah other during chases. Its. Not. Worth. It. Not for its supposed main function. And the whole obsession switching shenanigans are just too niche to be considered seriously.
As for Mindbreaker, it could be... Something if it didn't stop, working at 50% completion. Its a very niche perk that's supposed to threaten survivors doing gens, that get countered by survivors doing gens. Come on ! I understand that just inflicting exhaustion via gens might be too powerfull but the current conditon defeat the purpose of the perk to begin with.
It maybe niche, but thats not really a bad thing IMO. Not every perk has to be "meta". Its ok for a perk to be in a spot where it's useful if you're clever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEHfFn1XIh0I actually did a similar setup as THIS one on my Wraith using MYC. Was constantly swapping obsessions, getting PWYF stacks very quickly and 1 shotting them. As soon as furtive chase came out...I wanted to try this, lol. I leveled ghostface up JUST for furtive chase to put on my Wraith (who doesnt really need a perk reducing his TR I might add, lol).
While not really relevant NOW, I DID get some use out of it on Freddy before his rework for the TR reducing aspect. Pairing furtive chase with the red paintbrush, was able to get my TR to 0 pretty easily, which allowed for great aura reading with OG Freddy's ability. Chased one person abit, and managed a nice yoink on another.
-
@Decarcassor said:
@LordGlint your exemple show a use of the secondary effect of the perk wich is the obsession switch. This does not change the fact that reducing your TR in chase is pointless, wich is the perk main function.
That secondary action is exactly what many people use the perk for. The reduced TR potion is mostly just a bonus, but like I said...CAN be nice for juggling.

You both realize that Furtive Chase only work in chase, right ?
It does not reduce the Terror Radius unless you are currently in a chase (and have stacks of course). Wich mean the survivors will hear you coming. And you can't combine it with Monitor & Abuse, because M&A increase your TR by 8 meters when you are in a chase. Wich mean you would need 2 stacks of FF to just cancel the increase of M&A and at 4 stack you would only get half of the (useless) effect of FF.
Beside what is the point of reducing your TR in chase ? The survivors hear the chase music and see you. You still have the Red Stain too. So even if you could in theory reduce your heartbeat to 0 in chase (wich I'm pretty sure only Myers can do and only in EW1 or 2), it still would not help much.
And if you could do that from the start of the game maybe it would be an interesting gimmick, but no. You have to hook your obsession 4 times. So in all likelyhood, by the time you get all your useless stacks of FF, the game is probably close to being over if you are not playing against complete potatoes (if the obssesion hasn't DCed or killed itself on the hook).
So once again how is Furtive Chase supposed to help the killer do his job exactly ?
Furtive chase's 2nd effect compliments Myers' Judith's journal addon. Thats what they were getting at. Since the person who rescues the obsession, becomes the new obsession, you'll be able to stalk and fill your T3 almost instantly.
Heres an example...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoPN6E7HCyEBeyond that, the reduced TR in chase can help if your trying to juggle survivors. You can harass one person, then quickly change targets to down someone else who didnt realize his teammate had company.
Theres more weird ways you can make use of this perk, and I'm willing to show further examples if your interested.

It's not an easy topic. You are correct with the Nurse-Huntress-Example. AFAIK the devs plan to consider different ranks for different killers when the new ranking systems comes next year.
Also ranking system and matchmaking system go hand in hand when it comes to whether players will have a good or bad game.
Let's agree for now that the current system isn't working.
Many ppl run into this problem every month... I can rock Freddy at rank 1 no problem, but If i wanna learn a new killer... I guess I gotta wait for rank reset, and then not play for about a week. This is one reason I have close to 0 experience playing Spirit or Nurse. I have both killers lvled up abit, but their powers are so different than other killers... My experience with Freddy doesnt transfer over to being a good Nurse too.
-
@You_Got_Behavioured said:
@tehshadowman33 What you need to do is level your new killer BEFORE playing and not ask devs to implement a whole set of code just because you don't have blood points.
Its not so much about not having perks, but rather not having any experience with a killer's power, and expected to preform at your usual level. Ive never learned Nurse...Even if I have a fully perked out nurse build, it would be foolish to expect me to even get a single hit against my usual opponites.

Survivors already can't use Borrowed Time while sleeping before the oblivious status effect is put into current patct.
Borrowed Time already said that it's only worked when the survivor is in the terror radius, so it won't work with Freddy's lullaby or Huntress's lullaby.
So devs didn't buff Freddy, they just give the clear information to the survivors side that you really can't use the terror radius base perks while sleeping.
This is untrue. Before this update, Freddy still produced a TR that was unheard by sleeping survivors. This unheard TR WOULD affect all survivors in it with the effects of perks, whether they were asleep or not. Perks altering the size of the TR could affect the unheard TR, but not the Lullaby range. I did quite abit of testing on this when Freddy got reworked. This is a buff.
-
I find it funny when ppl think its a fake pallet, but really there was a dull totem nearby.
-
Myers reduced TR in T2 cant be taken away like GF's TR reduction. He doesnt have to wait on a cooldown to use it. Being able to expose EVERYONE instead of just 1 allows for much better pressure. As it stands, GF can only really use his power to pressure 1 person at a time.
-
The "husk" system that is about to be implemented will do away with this.

The Demogorgon isn't disrupting anything. He looks like he will be a solid mid tier killer by himself but his perks as they where on the PTB are not going to make any impact. Nobody will bother using them in the long run if they stay the same.
Yes he does not need BBQ. Many killers don't. They just use it because its convenient and can double your BP to alleviate the grind. So expect to see a lot of Demogorgons use it until they can get more usefull perks.
Sadly the best build I can think for the Demogorgon is just Hex: Ruin, Pop Goes the Weasel, Enduring and Spirit Fury. Plus the Red Moss add-on for maximum pallet disrespect (wich should really be basekit honnestly). Not exactly what I'd call shaking the Meta.
The enduring+spirit fury combo doesnt really need to be here, due to his shred allowing him to get hits on larger "safe" loops.

Exactly my point, some killer will purposely tunnel you for seeing those claw marks by your name, and say it's because they assume I have ds. But the whole reason I use ds is because of what they're doing then and there.
The only reason I can see someone doing this is to get it out of the way so they wont get hit by it in an endgame scenario later on. It really sucks to be in a lose lose situation where you either eat a DS or watch someone crawl out the exit gates.
