Alot of times, I'll equip a mori with no intention of actually USING it... just to curb survivor behavior. With perks like DS and deliverence, I've had ppl Kobe in my face, knowing I can't pick them up before they crawl out the exit gate. If the survivor expects to be moried... They're alot less likely to go for suicidal risky plays just cuz DS is on.
-
I'm a killer main, so don't have A TON of practice, but can hit it about 60% of the time.
-
@Alice_pbg said:
They complain because it's boring to be in the ground doing nothing.
Not because the killer can't try to get a 4k
I typically only do it when I can start a chase with the last guy right away. Had someone try to shame me for it this morning, even though he was only slugged for 30 seconds before I downed his teammate too.
-
Id be down for this happening both ways. Ive had entire teams DC within seconds of the game starting. RIP my addons/offering.
-
What about it?

You're totally right.
Just said Overcharge is the best we have, though it's clearly not a perfect solution.
Cases like this is where Mindbreaker becomes a troll perk. Tap a gen and now you're exhausted, lol.

@Blueberry said:
He's just a worse Billy imo. Not even top 5. Doesn't need nerfs.
Its abit of a trade off. Billy has his saw at all times, but Oni has WAY better control and practically no cool down if you need to end his charge, turn and start it again.
-
@FabV said:
Overcharge is surely the best counter as for now, but I like the idea of a 2 sec progress bar before the regression is stopped.
As said before by C3Tooth, it would be consistent with unhooking, kicking, destroying pallets, cleansing...
(PS : gen tapping to counter Ruin is ok imo)
Id agree with you if it wasnt for the fact that Overcharge's skillcheck is the only skillcheck in the game that wont auto-fail if you start moving. You can hit that bad boy while being like 10 feet away from the gen, lol. Only real downside is if you need to vault a window or something, so you hit spacebar for THAT, lol.

Exactly hes called the legion and people like michaels addons because each addon changes his style of play (at least the mirror does) they could make it so legions forms have their own style of play. After all each legion is a different person.
His other addons do as well. Using tuft of hair throws stealth out the window for example with his TR becoming a permanent 32 meters. At that point, you're relying on the fast vault speeds and lunge rather than sneaking up on ppl.
-
Oni starts the match in a really rough spot, having absolutely no power at all. If he can injure 2 separate survivors, while having no special base stats, being easily seen and having a 32 meter TR... I think at that point hes earned being able to have an ability for abit. I do agree that the ability seems really strong, so it wouldnt surprise me if they tweek the ability itself some.

Oh my bad. Normally I start reading and it's about Ruin. I do agree that to stop gen regression should be as long as a killer needs to hit it. Them tapping and us being locked in place for a second or so is annoying mod chase.
The only thing Ive seen that KINDA counters it is surge. They take the time to tap it, only for me to down them shortly after and surge to start the regression back up while applying that 8% bonus.

Not that it's really a issue it takes so long to gen tap a generator. Its quicker to actually just do it and live with missing a few skill checks.
Instead of relying on Ruin to do your job for you maybe you should learn more then just chases.
OP was refering to a tap being able to stop regression, not anything about ruin.

Overcharge and brutal strength are a counter to gen tapping in chase.
Next!
Neither of those actually have any effect for gen tapping mid chase. The overcharge skillcheck actually allows you to hit the skillcheck after youve already run away from the gen.

Every non-basement Bubba will use this. One they stun you, if there are high walls you have a good chance of cutting them off and chainsawing them due to zero terror radius. If they get away, free stack. Win-win.
Personally, Id just build up 3 stacks by looking away, then keep running around with 3 stacks. Down a person by using 1 stack, then get it back from the next survivor who I chase and get stunned by. The aura reading should make it pretty much impossible to lose them right away.

Ah I See my problem. I thought they just go down. I didnt hit them with ff again. So if I hit them 3 times with ff they are down like with release legion ?
Killers dont see the timer go down. They made it that way so the killer wouldnt know if you were in his TR or not. It goes down on the survivors screen, but not on yours.

You have to look REALLY close. One is likely to be in a bush.

Yet by that time he would have been downed anyway that took like 40 seconds. You even admitted "i could just smack you normally right now" so the chase was unnecessary
The reason Legion was reworked to begin with was because his chases were just a set time limit instead of any actual contest of skill. No one wants to go against a killer where its set in stone that they WILL go down after X amount of seconds, no matter how well they did or how bad the killer player is.

That does sound like a nasty combo. Maybe I'll try it at some point.
Just gotta be careful we dont go overboard and ppl complain Bubba's too OP, lol./s

@YaiPa said:
It’s so stupid, just like it’s old effect, it will most likely proc mid-chase, while you see the killer, making it useless, unless with legion.
The only other use Im seeing out of this would be to swap targets. Imagine being in a chase with no TR and seeing a survivor working on a gen completely unaware that theres a stealth Bubba closing in on him.
-
@PolarBear said:

True I didn't think of that. I guess we'll see though how this perk affects Michael. It's a unique concept.
Was actually thinking of a similar combo with Bubba. Using this perk with PWYF will let you turn any survivor your currently chasing into your obsession, thus...PWYF stacks on an instadown killer...yikes, lol.
-
@PolarBear said:
I don't think it's gonna be that big of a problem. Survivors can throw pallets down early to prevent becoming obsession. This was also possible before using Furtive Chase and going after the unhooker each time.
It was, but I think this way synergizes better with a tuft of hair+journal. With Furtive chase, you gotta down ppl to swap obsessions. With this...just gotta swap targets when ya see a new guy.

@supersonic853 said:
Like another thing is he/she could become a stealth killer by taking off the mask and then they have to put the mask back on to attack or something. (Would probably get destroyed by swf though). Like anyone remember the reveal trailer with david king?
We already have a killer that does that though. Tell me if you can see the difference between these 2 pictures. Ill give you a hint...one of em is secretly a killer.
-
They actually added that SPECIFICALLY because of OoO users in SWFs squads, lol.

because swf with one player hiding in the locker the entire game.
Lockers apply the blind status effect now, so a survivor inside one cant read auras.

No one will stop running ruin+bbq+monitor+infectious outside of a few big brains that will catch you off guard. Expect the expected, basically.
I could actually see it working to swap out ruin for nemesis. No one's gonna be working on gens much if you can tier up faster and slug everyone, lol. I kinda wanna try this...

As a professional hex hunter. 😅 I would encourage you to not use Small Game.
Instead, try running Detective’s Hunch. This not only reveals an exact location of every totem for 10 seconds, but as a new player it will also give you an idea of where they normally spawn in that specific map, helping you get more comfortable with the map to a point you won’t even need the perk in the future.
BBQ n Chili is a very powerful perk. To add to what others have suggested if you’re already working on an objective, look around and spot a locker nearby, this way you can deny the aura reading when BBQ procs.
Hopefully these tips help. :-)
Detectives hunch+map is great

If a survivor is still on the hook and about to hit the next phase, I might stay put afew seconds, but not the whole minute.
-
While there IS plenty of similarity, Billy's saw DOES have much less freedom of movement as well as more of a punishment for bumping into things. For now, let's see how the PTB goes before talking about nerfs or buffs and give it a lil time for ppl to get the hang of it.
On another note, you might wanna add punctuation from now on, as that was hard to read.
-
He just hit PTB and it's gonna take a minute for ppl to see where he's at. Even Tofu said that in his video. Ultimately... We'll see. Haven't been able to hop on PTB myself yet, but he DOES seem quite strong.

I agree killers have gotten better. But my statement that they are far more stressful to play then survivor still stands. You make a mistake as a killer, and thats not only amplified four times, its usually a far worse punishment then when a survivor makes a mistake. So why isn't it that killers have more power to compensate?
All in all, I'd say the game is getting leaps and bounds less stressful than it was in the past. Constantly being surrounded by survivors trying to body block EVERY hook or trying to get flashlight saves for EVERY hook sucked. Now between madgrit, instablinds being nerfed and changes in hook placements...I hardly ever see this. Been screwing around with Bubba and other non-top tier killlers lately, and still manage to have a good time.

I wish I could disagree, but you’re right.
I didn’t believe in love at first sight until I got insidious face camped in the basement by Bubba. The way he stared into my eyes... damn, I’m getting chills just thinking about it.
Legion WISHES they could blend in with survivors like Bubba. This one here will fool ANY team into thinking hes just your average Blendette.
-
I dunno...after seeing him, I dont care if I have both Myers and Billy lvled up, ill GLADLY dump points into this behemoth, lol. He looks like a blast to play.

Freddy always wears a Christmas sweater...

I could see this maybe being handy on Trapper to help with quickly setting up beartraps.

I know. I'm just confused because the new changes seem just as good in my opinion, hearing her phase throughout the whole map will throw many survivors off their game. I would still save my add-ons, but that's just me.
It'll give everyone a heads up to maybe step away from the gen for a sec... Just in case. Before this, if you didn't have spinechill... Many ppl would gentap the whole match out of paranoia they could get grabbed at any moment.
-
Personally, when the Instaheal thing was going on... I just equiped Franklin's for awhile. Maybe try spinechill if your expecting so many prayerbeads in your matches?

The devs DO contribute to the toxicity in a few ways. Toxic behavior in the game is often shielded and/or encouraged as legitimate playstyles, and while that's true to a certain extent, there are blatant cases where it's just plain toxic behavior which goes unpunished... which of course, doesn't matter to them.
in-game reports are often ineffective and ultimately ignored outside of xbox or playstation messaging reports, which generally require threats or vulgar language to receive punishment.
There's no way to avoid specific players, no way to mark players as toxic, no way to stop players from being toxic. Many of these issues could be handled in various ways, one just has to look at other games to see those solutions.
and even here on the forums, blatant toxicity and trolling is common with very minimal mitigation or punishment. It seems as if the devs feel that policing their own medium is beneath them so they don't even try.
with all that said, stopping the toxicity in-game or in the community would be a challenging feat and ultimately its up to us as players to do what we can to alleviate some of that burden.
As far as the forums go, toxic ppl are generally banned after awhile. Mods will issue a warning via DM, and then follow thru if you keep it up. As far as toxic PLAY goes... The devs tend to adopt a mostly hands off approach for most gameplay. They step in if someone's getting body blocked in a corner til they DC or something like that, but GENERALLY... If your not hacking, it's fair game.
-
I just wish they'd rework insidious so it's actually good instead of a camping tool.

Killer seems pretty good from what I've seen. Can't wait to lvl him up once he hits live.

After seeing a video by Otz recently about him using Infectous fright on Legion, as well as my own experience using it on Bubba this past weekend with Monitor... I wanna try it, lol. Injure everyone with FF, just to start a chain of downing injured survivors with monitor+infectous.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugC1kjpMPYU&t=124sThe game at 13:45 is what im referencing for those curious

I think that new oni perk will be really good on Legion though, so there is that....
which one?
-
Was thinking Monitor+infectious fright on him. Infectious fright on any killer that can 1 shot you is scary, with monitor boosting its effect and also allowing him to get closer on the initial target.
-
Looks like a typical 115% killer who doesnt have a power until he starts injuring ppl and gets the power. Its kinda like Plague who's power is pretty awesome, but doesnt get it very often.

How are you using killer perks on Claudette?! And how did your Claudette become such a big chungs? 😁 Nice build btw. I wish Beast Marks weren't so damn rare. I only have like 20 Beast Marks left but easily 80 Tuning Guides.
Who knew Bubba was the best stealth killer in the game? Makes me think of the Legion trailer, except with Bubba...

There is a hard cap of 6 Ranks. It also depends on how long they are searching for a match, ideally they end up in a similar Rank, but I can imagine that a 3 man SWF takes some time to search for a game, especially with such low Ranks.
And if it takes a while, the game checks if any lobby is available, and then there is OPs lobby with 3 free spots and a player who is in between 6 ranks of the highest Player of the SWF.
I get saving people from waiting forever... But still sucks when newbies are thrown over their heads due to matchmaking. Ive been paired with rank 20 killers while myself and my entire team were well more than 6 ranks better.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
I mean, if they are SWF, this can happen. The maximum Rank Difference is 6, this is fulfilled, if they are SWF.
I also had a game recently where I was Rank 1 and another person was Rank 6 with their Rank 20 friend (legit a Level 2 David with No Mither). Went as expected, since it was basically a 2v1 instead of a 4v1.
I just go for the Blackpip in this case, I cant be asked to queue up all the time.
That wouldnt really make sense with the pictures OP provided though. Even if those 3 OP got grouped with were a 3 man SWF, they SHOULD be paired with a solo player close to their rank and facing off against a killer close to their rank. If OP was part of the SWF, sure...you could say they were kinda asking to be placed in over their heads due to matchmaking going off OP's rank. If thats not the case though, like in these pics... Matchmaking is failing us.
